True Blood Finale: Yeah It Sucked!

True Blood Finale: Yeah It Sucked!

So last night was the final “True Blood,” and the reaction of many on social media wasn’t positive. Some did like it, a lot more seemed to hate it. Was it a totally unhappy ending? No it wasn’t. Almost everyone got a happy ending. Was it the ending we deserved after 7 years? Hell no! As I said in one of my recent “True Blood” blogs, I hated how Alan Ball ended “Six Feet Under” and worried he’d do it again. Well he did! If you haven’t seen the episode, I’d stop reading now.

So most of the show was actually about Jessica and Hoyt, who decided to get married before Bill met the true death. Seriously, they wasted most of the final show on these two!

Bill was resigned to die and wanted Sookie to fairy ball him, which would make her human and give her the life she wanted too. In the end she couldn’t do that as being fairy is just who she is, she wouldn’t give it up. For that I was happy. However Bill still wanted to die, so she staked him. WTF! Seriously? I had a small hope that Sookie might blast him and somehow he’d become human again. Throughout the episode they teased that possibility. He was becoming “warmer” and Sookie was able to read his thoughts finally. I guess though it was only because he was dying.

Pam and Eric killed Mr. Gus, took over New Blood, and chained Sarah Newmie Newlander up in the basement of Fangtasia where they rented her out to wealthy infected vampires who wanted a full cure. That was her punishment for being the beyotch she was in life. Pam and Eric’s story was at least funny, especially with Sarah asking Pam to turn her so they could be lesbian vamps together and Pam telling her no bleeping way.

The show ended with some fast forwarding. It was several years later and everyone was gathering for Thanksgiving. Jason ended up with Hoyt’s ditched girlfriend and had 3 or 4 kids with her. Lafayette ended up with James. I don’t know if we saw Arlene with her vampire guy or not? Jessica and Hoyt are together still, and Sam came home with his wife and daughter. Adeline was with Wyatt, and of course Andy and Holly. Everyone gathered around the table for dinner. We saw that Sookie was pregnant and had a husband. However we don’t know who he is, as they never told us and we never saw his face. WTF? After all this time and we don’t get full closure or disclosure for Sookie? I guess since she couldn’t be with Bill it wasn’t supposed to matter who she ended up with, just that she ended up happy as Bill wanted. So in the end, it was pretty much about Bill getting what he wanted in a way.

I like my idea that Sookie was able to somehow turn Bill human much better. I think I’ll pretend that is how the show really ended.

Next time Alan Ball decides to make a television show I think I shall skip it and save the hours wasted over its 5-7 year run and watch or do something else.

True Blood: What The Hell Are They Doing?

True Blood: What The Hell Are They Doing?

Posted by Dustin on 08.11.2014 at 10:32 am

There are now only two episodes left of “True Blood,” I believe. After last night’s episode, I do not have high hopes at all for a happy ending. What the hell is this show doing to itself? Let’s discuss.

Thankfully they did not drag Violet’s revenge on for long. Jason arrived and she chained him up with the others in a sick plan to make each one watch the one before them be tortured to death. However Hoyt followed Jason and shot Violet through the heart. Hoyt met Jessica and was completely enamored with her. He grilled Jason if he and Jessica were . . . Jason said no. Jason and Jessica agreed they were best as friends only. Later in the episode he showed up to pay Jessica a visit and bring Bill some clean blood. Something that struck me was Jason thanked Hoyt for saving them and called him Bubba, his nickname for Hoyt, and Hoyt said nothing about this. I am wondering if Hoyt remembers, but is lying to see if Jason and Jessica are still carrying on? Or does he truly not know? Either way, it looks like Jessica and Hoyt are going to get another chance. At least one couple is going to get a happy ending!

Eric was healed thanks to Newmie, who Gus tied up in the basement of Fangtasia. The cure was easy enough to synthesize, but Gus says that won’t make them money. He wants to make a Nu Blood that is only a partial cure, because it will keep people buying it. Eric and Pam agreed to keep quiet about the full cure, they are business people after all. However Eric soon learned from Sookie that Bill was sick and he wanted to find a way to cure Bill. Of course Sookie being Sookie took matters into her own hands. She brought Bill too Fangtasia to get the cure herself. However Bill decided at the last second that he wouldn’t be cured! He had a dream of a life with Sookie. In it Sookie was holding a baby who had a black void where its face should be. In the previews he tells Eric that all they can bring Sookie is a life of death. I swear if they end up killing Bill and screwing Sookie out of any kind of happy ending, I will be pissed. Then again that’s somewhat how Alan Ball ended “Six Feet Under,” which I absolutely hated.

Finally Tara’s story came to an end. I wasn’t too happy with this story either. Lettie Mae and Lafayette were digging up the yard of Tara and her mom’s old house looking for something. The reverend soon showed up and he agreed to take V with them, thinking he would help disprove them. He was stunned when he too saw Tara. Basically as a kid Tara almost shot her father abusive with his gun, which she stole. She didn’t though, she chickened out and buried it in the back yard. Her father left her mother that same day, which is what began her spiral into decent. Tara felt she had to show this, and the gun, to her mother to help ease her guilt. Tara couldn’t pass on until Lettie Mae let go of her and her guilt. Tara, in a way, absolved her mother of some of that. We then saw Tara go into the light. I really thought this was a piss poor end to Tara’s character honestly.

Please “True Blood,” don’t eft up the ending to your show!

True Blood: Kinky Toys and Hoyt’s Return.

There are only three episodes of “True Blood” left, and I hope they are all more exciting than last night’s episode. Let’s get into what happened!

First up, with such limited time left, I don’t understand why they are spending all this time on Bill’s past. We had to watch flashbacks of how he was put in an arranged marriage with his wife this week. So what? Where are these flashbacks going? Are they going to lead Bill to a revaluation about the cure? If not what is the point? To make us like Bill again to forget all the crappy things he’s done?

In Bill’s present, Sookie brought in the dwarf vampire doctor to help Bill. It seems there is some connection between infected fairies and the disease rapidly spreading, but she’s never seen it spread this fast. That may have something to do with her blood line. When she learned who Sookie was related to, she got the “F” out of there. We learned the fairies killed a lot of dwarves off in the past. Sookie then tried to get her fairy grandfather to heal Bill, but even his magic couldn’t do that. Or if it could he lied to her, as he doesn’t like Bill. Sookie vowed to stay by Bill’s side till the end, and predictably they got it on.

One of the funnier story lines this week was Arlene dreaming about, and falling for her vampire protector Keith. Of course she’s Hep-V positive so they can’t do anything. It’s good to see Arlene may get a happy ending though.

Hoyt finally returned to town with a new hottie girlfriend. He came home to bury his mama. He of course doesn’t remember Jason at all, but knows everyone else it seems. Jason was fixated on his girlfriend for the entire episode. Really? Jason can’t think with his head at all? He’s going to take another one of Hoyt’s girls? If he sleeps with her then I will really be pissed. I still think Hoyt will end up with Jessica in the end. Maybe then Jason will take Hoyt’s new girl?

Violet took Adeline and Wade to her house where she slept while they got it on. However when she woke, she threw Wade across the room and chained up Violet. Jessica sensed this and went running to save her, of course not telling anyone what she sensed first. It is looking by the previews that Violet wasn’t after Adeline, but Jessica to pay her back for screwing Jason.

Eric, Pam and Mr. Gus continued to track down Sarah. Eric lost control and killed her sister, but they know now that she’s the cure. Mr. Gus envisions synthesizing and bottle her blood to sell as “Nu Blood.” They tracked her down at her old church. What a dumb place to hide? Sarah started going nuts and was seeing dead and not so dead people all telling her that she was going to die that night. She saw Jason, Steve and the Guru guy. I’m not sure why the heck she’s losing her marbles. The odd thing is, since she became Newmie I kinda like her and don’t want her to die anymore.

Finally Lettie Mae and Lafayette went to their old house and began digging up the yard looking for something Tara wanted them to find. We don’t know what it is yet.

That’s about it for this episode. Again, I hope the last three are a lot better!

True Blood: The Cure For Hep-V

True Blood: The Cure For Hep-V

Posted by Dustin on 07.28.2014 at 12:03 pm

So last night we got some major answers on “True Blood.” It was Sookie who unknowingly infected Bill. She cut herself to draw the Hep-V vamps out, and got splattered with their blood, infecting her and later infecting Bill who drank from her. Oops! I did wonder how with all that blood being splattered nobody managed to get infected. Bill’s disease is out of control and he likely has hours left. I’m guessing that’s the affect of the fairy blood mixed with the disease.

A spurned Violet has decided to take things out on Adeline and Wade, who she kidnapped at the end of this episode. They had run away to be together as they are in love, and Andy wasn’t thrilled when he found them “doing the deed.”

It turns out Lettie Mae isn’t crazy after all. Lafayette did V with her to try and put her delusions to rest, and he too saw Tara. She sent them on a mission to the house she lived in growing up. There is something there they have to see or do for her.

Finally we learned, as I somewhat guessed last week, that Sarah Newland does have the cure for Hep-V. Actually she IS the cure. She drank the antidote and now her blood is the cure. But will she be found in time to save Eric, Bill and others? I’m thinking Eric is not going to make it out of the season alive honestly. I’m not even sure about Bill at this point with how fast his disease is spreading.

It was just another OK episode of “True Blood.” It makes me sad to say that at this point I’m okay with it all ending.

On another note, I have been watching “The Leftovers” which airs right after “True Blood.” I will probably start a blog on it. It annoys me to no end, and I can’t stand half the characters, but yet I keep watching it! A lot of my rants about it can be found on my Twitter.

True Blood: The Mysterious Hep-V

True Blood: The Mysterious Hep-V

Posted by Dustin on 07.21.2014 at 11:00 am

So I neglected to write a blog on last week’s “True Blood,” mainly because I felt it was a boring and uneventful episode. The only parts I liked were the Pam and Eric flashbacks about how they started Fangtasia, and the end when everyone finally was rescued from the basement of Fangtasia.

The latest episode had a huge party being thrown at Sookie’s by the town to celebrate Alcide and Tara’s life, rather than morn their death. Of course all kinds of stuff went down there. The one happy event was Andy proposing to Holly, who said yes. Bill showed up and was nice and polite like he was in the beginning of the series, and we got to see all these flashbacks of his past. He did not want to fight in the civil war, and even tried to escape with his family and several slaves on the underground railroad. I assumed this was all being done to prop Bill up as a good guy again so he and Sookie could be together. That may not happen given the last shocking scene. We saw Bill taking a nice hot bath at his house, look at himself in the mirror, and he had the beginning veins of Hep-V! The mystery of course is how he got it. Sookie drank from him recently to re-establish their connection, so is she infected now too? Or did he somehow get it in the fight with the Hep-V vamps? Or did Sookie have it and give it to Bill somehow? Also did Bill really need a nice hot bath, I mean he’s dead, it won’t warm him up. Yes, that went through my mind too.

Elsewhere at the party, Lafayette and James finally got it on, only to be caught by a pissed off Jessica. Lafayette talked to her about how he deserved to be happy too, and he didn’t think she and James were that happy together. He said if she didn’t love him then to let him go. Jessica and Jason had a long talk, she realized Lafayette was right. Jason did too, applying it to his situation with Violet. He doesn’t really love her. Before you knew it, Jason and Jessica were getting it on! Unfortunately Violet heard them from outside the room, and now they are both screwed! That crazy witch will make them pay, that’s for sure.

Lettie May is still insisting that Tara is stuck and needs her help. She attacked Willow to get her blood, but Sookie and others stopped her.

Pam, Eric and Sarah Newland’s sister all went to Dallas to find her. Sarah’s sister is a vampire and the dark secret of the family. She wants revenge on Sarah, as she’s infected with Hep-V and her boyfriend died from it. They tracked Sarah down at a Republican fundraiser for Ted Cruz, but unfortunately so did the Yakuza who is after her. The Yakuza shot up the place, killing both of Sarah’s parents. Eric took their leader out for revenge as he killed some old girlfriend of his in Europe once. Sarah seems to have gotten away yet again.

Pam as usual had the best line in the show. Eric gave her this gaudy sequin dress for the party. She put it on and said “Oh my God, I’m a Republic#$@%! Yeah it’s too dirty to even type, but I bust out laughing.

With Bill and Eric dying from Hep-V, it’s starting to look like Sookie isn’t going to get a happy ending. I am hopeful that they will find a cure, and I bet Sarah knows it. However it’s possible both could die. Sam’s girlfriend sorta flipped out on Sam and the town in this episode for not being normal. I could see her ditching the kid with Sam and running off, and him and Sookie finally being together and raising it.

True Blood: RIP Dude!

True Blood: RIP Dude!

Posted by Dustin on 07.07.2014 at 11:58 am

Last’s night’s “True Blood” brought both great happiness and great sorrow. I am just stunned, and wondering who else is going to meet the true death before this show ends?

Eric and Pam were reunited, and he was content to finally die and meet the true death. We saw some flashbacks of how Pam and Eric both met Nan Flannigan and presumably how Eric ended up in America as a sherif. We didn’t get that far yet. We also met some assassin squad from the Yoshimora corporation, which are the makers of Tru Blood. In the present Pam tried to get Eric to fight, that a cure might happen if they could keep him alive long enough. The only thing that made him want to fight was Pam revealing that Jason did not kill Sarah Newlander, she was alive. He was furious and wanted to find her. He isn’t the only one though. She’s been hiding out in some Yoga Cult, and the assassins from Yoshimora showed up looking for her! What do they want with her? Possibly something to do with the poisoning of the Tru Blood supply?

Andy, Jason, Jessica and Jason’s gal pal vamp all rescued Adeline and Arlene’s boy from jail, but then faced off with the hillbilly bunch whose taking back the town. Jason’s gal got tired of them, Hoyt’s mama in particular, and ended up ripping her heart out! I wish she had ripped her head off, but I’ll take what I can get. I was so glad to see her die!

Lettie Mae’s husband the Reverend basically sent Willow on her way, because Lettie Mae was becoming addicted to V. She wondered who would protect them? He said he would. That probably means they are as good as dead. We did get confirmation on Tara’s death too, as Pam mentioned she felt Tara meet the true death. So many deaths!

They are clearly setting up a love triangle involving Lafayette, his vampire protector James, and James’ girlfriend Jessica. I think it’s also just a way to eventually bring Hoyt back for Jessica. With his mama dead he will likely come home. Has he gotten his memory back? Maybe it’s best he doesn’t, he and Jessica could then start over.

Finally Sookie came up with the plan to find the Hep-V vamps by using herself as bait and having them take her back to their lair, where Bill would track her too. However her plan didn’t go as planned. The Hep-V vamps took Holly with them when they went hunting, found Sookie and Bill and overpowered them. Then Sam and Alcide showed up. There was a shootout that left most of the Hep-V vamps dead, but also Alcide! Nooooooooooooo! I just can’t believe they killed him off. With Eric dying and Alcide dead, it really looks like Sookie will end up with Bill, unless they go with the actual ending from the books.

Rest in Piece Alcide, your naked body will be missed. Rot in pieces Hoyt’s mama, you won’t be missed!

True Blah: The Final Season

True Blah: The Final Season

Posted by Dustin on 06.30.2014 at 3:47 pm

I know a lot of people have given up on “True Blood,” and I am barely holding on. I feel I’ve watched this long, I want to see it through to the end. However right now, it’s getting really hard to do so with Sunday being jammed full of good stuff.

First up, we are two episodes in and have barely seen Bill or Eric. Most of the show has been dealing with the Scooby gang investigating the Hep-V vamps and the hillbilly brigade looking to take over the town. Zzzzzzzzz. Right now I wouldn’t mind if the Hep-V vamps just ate the entire hillbilly bunch. I really hope we get to see someone rip off Hoyt’s mama’s head too. She needs to die a horrific, bloody death.

Eric and Bill finally returned at the very end of the show. Suddenly Sookie is all about Bill again and their connection, thanks to reading some dead teen girl’s diary about her first love, a vampire. Now Sookie is wondering if she gets into trouble could he still feel it and come save her. He didn’t really answer, that’s where the show left off. I think that since the beginning it was very clear Alan Ball had made the decision that Sookie would end up with Bill, and I don’t think that will change. It was just odd that she’s suddenly interested in him again after all this. Meanwhile Pam finally found Eric, who is infected with Hep-V. Nooooooo! What a crock! I hope they find a cure for it in time to save Eric. My guess is it will be fairy blood. However given all his family is dead, I fear Eric will end up dying.

Lettie Mae is convinced Tara’s soul is stuck between worlds and is out to help her. Zzzzzz. Along with Hoyt’s mama, I wouldn’t mind seeing Lettie Mae bite it.

The Jessica/Adeline story is probably the most interesting story so far. I don’t know why Adeline didn’t use her fairy blasting powers before, unless she didn’t know about it? I can’t recall. I would like to see Hoyt return and be with Jessica in the end.

I hope they rescue Arlene and Holly soon, because I cannot watch another episode of them in that basement screaming their heads off. From the previews it seems Holly finally brings back her magic, which I do like. They seemed to have just forgotten about that storyline all together.

The Eric/Jason fantasy was probably the best part of the episode, but still not as good as the Bill/Sam one. That one was just hysterical.

True Blood Final Season Premiere . . . Not Cool!

True Blood Final Season Premiere . . . Not Cool!

Posted by Dustin on 06.23.2014 at 11:07 am

So last night was the premiere of “True Blood’s” final season. Within the first few minutes the Hep-Vamps attacked the town, drug off Holly, Arlene and Sam’s pregnant girlfriend . . . . and killed Tara? WTF! That was just so not cool! Tara was taking down this huge vamp, and the next thing we see is Lettie Mae screaming and holding her guts saying “They killed my baby!” I’m not buying this. We didn’t see Tara die, and Pam didn’t seem to show any emotion and she would have felt her true death. Is this a trick? Did Lettie Mae kill Tara? I don’t know. The actress has given a few interviews and it seem to be for real. To kill Tara off in the first few minutes though, boo!

The rest of the episode wasn’t that eventful honestly. Sookie is being blamed by everyone in town for what’s happened, and she can’t stop reading their minds and hearing it. Jason is still with his dominatrix Vampire, and Sookie’s with Alcide. Jessica is protecting the last of Andy’s kids that she didn’t kill. Sam’s secret may be out, as the guy he won against for mayor saw him turn into a dog. Arlene, Holly and Sam’s pregnant girl are screaming in the basement of Fangtasia where some Hep-Vamp is keeping them as meals. Finally Pam is off in some foreign country looking for any sign of Eric, who wasn’t even in the episode.

Why did they have to go and kill my Tara? Whyyyyyyy!!!!!

In case you haven’t been connected to the net, yesterday HBO announced that next season will be the final season for “True Blood.” As with this season, the final season is also a shortened 10 episode season.

I think the time has come, the show has run it’s course and deviated too far from the books. I just hope we get an amazing final season.

TV Line has an exclusive interview with the executive producer of “True Blood” who spills on whether Eric lives or dies, the upcoming Bill-Alcide-Sookie triangle and more. You can read it HERE

I am guessing the outcry from fans over that cliff-hanger was too much and they had to reveal what is ahead far earlier than planned?
