Person’s Unknown: Welcome To Level Two, No Answers For You!
Posted by Dustin on 08.28.2010 at 10:17 pm
Needless to say, I’m just a whole lota pissed right now. I know a lot of people out there are hoping for a 2nd season after that ending of “Person’s Unknown.” Well given the fact that they pulled an episode to put online only in order to give us two back to back episodes and finish up the run of the show sooner rather than later . . . . my guess is don’t count on it.
Also this was only supposed to be a miniseries, that’s how they advertised it all summer. They also advertised by the end we’d have answers . . . which we don’t!
What did we learn in the season finale of “Person’s Unknown.” Not much . . . we just got more questions!
-Janet’s mom is clearly part of the program, even having a history with the Director. The Director had always been after Janet, and it was hinted some type of Rumplestiltskin deal was entered into by Janet’s mom with The Program.
-Why did Renbe end up in a hotel at the end, but not Kat? Also how does putting Renbe with Joe benefit anything, as he knows too much! He also would have known Victoria, the new night manager (clearly not dead either).
-How did Blackham somehow know the name of the other guy’s wife, when he never told him?
-How after the car crash did everyone end up scattered since Janet had no memory of where she ended up, and Moira and Erika/Theresa ended up in Morocco?
-Who was the guy with the white hair at the board meeting of the program, and why was he important? The Director was shocked to see him. I was too, for a moment I thought he was Rayden from “Mortal Kombat.”
-What happened to Janet’s daughter? Did she go back to grandma?
-What does Level 2 hold for the hotel, now aircraft carier guests.
-Why should I now invest in “The Event,” which NBC shoved down our thoughts throughout this entire show, when I didn’t even get answers to the one I was watching? What is The Event? I wanna know the answers to the above questions first!
2 Hour Persons Unknown Finale!
Posted by Dustin on 08.22.2010 at 1:53 pm
I unfortunately only saw part of last nights “Person’s Unknown,” so I have little to comment on. It seems like many of the hotel guests are now complacent with, or indebted to, “The Program” for saving them somehow. So in fact in a way, “The Program” is somewhat of a brainwasher . . . well with Joe it really is. He oddly seems to the only one no longer complacent. It also seems to be centered around Janet, who I feel is poised to become the new Joe for the program.
Anyway, next weekend are two back to back episodes for a full two hour finale. Here are the spoilers!
8/28 – 8pm AND THEN THERE WAS ONE
LAST CHANCE – When the group goes searching for Janet (Daisy Betts) and Ulrich (Alan Smyth), they discover all their supplies have disappeared. After finding the pair, they turn to Ulrich for help, but soon realize they are left on their own to survive. Meanwhile, Kat (Lola Glaudini) and Renbe (Gerald Kyd) receive crucial information from a medical examiner that leads them dangerously close to “The Program.” Also starring Jason Wiles, Alan Ruck, Sean O’Bryan, Tina Holmes, Chadwick Boseman, Kandyse McClure and Joanna Lipari.
8/28 – 9pm SHADOWS IN THE CAVE
FREE AT LAST—After surviving an unexpected van crash, the abductees finally escape and decide to go their separate ways. Everyone attempts to return to their normal lives, however, “The Program” has no intention of letting them go. Meanwhile, Renbe (Gerald Kyd) and Kat (Lola Glaudini) race to help Janet (Daisy Betts), only to end up reunited with the rest of the group in eerily familiar territory. Also starring Jason Wiles, Alan Ruck, Sean O’Bryan, Tina Holmes, Chadwick Boseman, Kandyse McClure, Kate Lange Johnson and Joanna Lipari.
Person’s Unknown: Identity, August 21st Spoiler
Posted by Dustin on 08.08.2010 at 4:22 pm
Looks like there is no “Person’s Unknown” next weekend. The next new episode is listed for August 21st.
There is actually a MAJOR spoiler in this little blurb too.
August 21st – IDENTITY
LOCKDOWN—When new night manager, Mr. Ulrich (Alan Smyth), informs the group that all “guests” are restricted to the hotel they feel even more trapped. The level of uneasiness heightens when they return to their rooms and find very personal items that remind them of their pasts. Meanwhile, Kat (Lola Glaudini) and Renbe (Gerald Kyd) explore a duplicate abandoned town and find out a whole lot more than they bargained for. Also starring Jason Wiles, Daisy Betts, Alan Ruck, Sean O’Bryan, Tina Holmes, Chadwick Boseman and Kandyse McClure.
Person’s Unknown: Town Located!
Posted by Dustin on 08.08.2010 at 4:14 pm
A lot going on last night on “Person’s Unknown,” but still as confused as ever. Joe was returned to town, with very little memory of what happened. Tom is apparently dead, so Joe has been told. Meanwhile Joe beat the tar out of the night manager, who was replaced by Ulrich, a very high up in “The Program.” The director sent him there personally to get Joe under control, she feels he is the closets thing they’ve seen to a “Level 10 Candidate” in a long time . . . At least it seemed she was talking about Joe . . . . but could that person really be Janet?
I really thought last week the woman in the prison who tipped Renby and Kat off to Father Joe was the director . . . is she? Isn’t she? They looked familiar to me, or in the face/voice at least. I thought maybe she had just changed . . . or was she in disguise? Kat and Renby, with the priests help, escaped from where they were and found themselves in a South American jungle . . . and before long on the outskirts of the town! How will they get in there though with all those “pain guns.”
Back in town, Joe continued to freak out. Nobody but Janet believed he had lost his memory. He was about to kill himself when Janet got through to him at the end and saved him. The director was very . . . interested in this turn of events. If Janet isn’t part of the program, I think the director now possibly wants her to be!
What do you think? Has Janet been in on it all along?
Post Note! The director WAS the woman in the jail. I went to IMDB.com and looked her up. The actress is listed as playing Angela Barragan for a set number of episodes. You can see a photo of her there as the woman in jail, but also as a blonde with glasses. She seems to be playing both roles.
Person’s Unknown: Father Joe and Nurse Tori
Posted by Dustin on 07.31.2010 at 9:33 pm
Wow just when I thought they couldn’t bring out anymore twists! Good show tonight! So what did we learn? . . . . . .
Well first, we got a back story on Joe, who in fact was Father Joe Tucker? Yes, he was a priest taken from a South American church and pulled into the program. He was put in the same situation as Janet, to kill someone to go free, and when he did it . . . . that was the first step to more for him. HE met the director of the program, who felt he was the future of the program.
However for most of this episode, a shaved Joe was on a table in a white steril room where he was being reprogrammed for the program. He either returned, or would die during the reprogramming. Tori showed up as a nurse . . . but was she there? Janet was in the room too . . . so it seemed like both were projections of his mind. However I think Tori was there . . . I don’t think she’s dead, I never did. I think she was a plant just like Joe.
Back in the town, Blackman pleaded with the cameras, saying he was a nobody, he didn’t know why they took him, he had no potential. The next thing he knew, he was outside of the town . . . free to go . . . but to where? He realized he was going nowhere and returned, hoping that proved something to the people.
Meanwhile Kat and Renbi met the one woman who escaped the program, she was in a looney bin in South America . . . turns out it was the director from Joe’s flashback! She sent them to a church where they learned about Father Joe. Later though the director had all but vanished from her looney bin cell.
I did like the Father Joe twist a lot . . . but at the same time it was similar to the jump the shark moment from last week for me. Shocking that “the church” is somehow involved in the program no? I’m wondering if “the program” in fact is going to end up being something along the lines of a certain trilogy of books that came out not so long ago . . . the first was made into a movie . . . I don’t want to spoil much for those who may want to read them . . . let’s just say I won’t be shocked if “the program” in fact is a giant organization posing as God/morality in the end of all this.
Person’s Unknown Spoilers: August 7th Episode

August 7th – Static
CHAOS ENSUES— After returning to town, Joe’s troubles worsen as he suffers from frightening side effects caused by his “reeducation.” The rest of the group is left wondering whether they would simply be better off without him. Concerned by the chaotic mess the town has become, the Director of “The Program” sends a surprising new night manager and second-in-command, Liam Ulrich (Alan Smyth) to restore order. Meanwhile, Renbe (Gerald Kyd) and Kat (Lola Glaudini) get raided by local South American police, which ends in Renbe’s arrest. Also starring Jason Wiles, Daisy Betts, Alan Ruck, Sean O’Bryan, Tina Holmes, Chadwick Boseman and Kandyse McClure.
Person’s Unknown: The Masons, The Illuminati, The Church, Insert Your Organization Here
Posted by Dustin on 07.24.2010 at 9:07 pm
So basically between what Joe spilled to the “guests” of “the program,” and what the Ambassador told Renbee and Kat, it basically seems like we are dealing with some type of super secret world power here. The Free Masons, The Illuminati, basically insert your favorite conspiracy theory organization here.
The group, which doesn’t have a name, has been kidnapping people for over 50 years, people with “potential,” and then it seems turning them into world power players. The Ambassador for example was a nobody, they made him who he is. Every major event, big or small, is orchestrated by this group supposedly.
I dunno, I think “Person’s Unknown” finally jumped the shark. The only thing that could be more cliche is to bring in the antichrist. Cue the theme from “The Omen!”
Also in this episode the guests found files in Joe’s room on all of them, and Erika the nasty piece of trash she is, snooped into everyone else’s secrets. Blackman apparently was blackmailing a host of people, and McNair (the army guy) was a hired assassin according to his file. He later explained to Moira that it was a lie somewhat, he was set up. Hey maybe the guests can hire him to kill Erika 🙂 She has outlived her three episodes at this point.
Joe claimed the files were planted (which they were, by the Chinese guy). The only person on his side was Charlie (Camera from Ferris Bulleur), who hoped Joe could be his ticket to freedom. Oh Cameron, your going to be the next Tori. And in fact, in trying to save Joe from the Chinese guy, he got himself shot in the leg. Should he die, so will the Chinese guy according to Joe . . . so clearly these people are NOT to be killed. Was Tori just a way to keep the Ambasador working? Is she REALLY did? Her boyfriend seemed to believe she could in fact still be alive somewhere. That would mean a major body swap.
Before the Chinese guy could kill Joe though, Janet deep fried him with a Wok full of oil! At the very end . . . . someone abducted Joe right out of his bathroom from under Janet’s nose.
The previews for next week seem to indicate Joe’s back story. Just who is Joe? The only real twist they could pull at this point is to have Joe STILL be playing his part in the program, and even the Chinese camera guy didn’t know. Is Joe the mastermind?
Person’s Unknown July 28th Spoilers
Posted by Dustin on 07.24.2010 at 11:40 am
July 28th – SAVED
DAY OF RECKONING—When Joe (Jason Wiles) wakes up strapped to a table, he is told he must be “reeducated” in order to return to the program, or he will die. He then endures a dizzying array of dreams, hallucinations and flashbacks designed to steer him back to the program and away from Janet (Daisy Betts). Back in town, both Blackham (Sean O’Bryan) and McNair (Chadwick Boseman) are forced to come to terms with their troubled pasts. Elsewhere, continuing their journey in South America, Kat (Lola Glaudini) and Renbe (Gerald Kyd) try to track down the only person who has ever escaped “the program.” Also starring are Alan Ruck, Tina Holmes, Kate Lang Johnson and Kandyse McClure.
Person’s Unknown: Vodka and Antifreeze Martinis
Posted by Dustin on 07.18.2010 at 6:51 pm
“Person’s Unknown” returned last night on their new night and time, Saturday’s at 8. It seems after weeks we are finally close to some answers!
The asian guy behind the camera referred to what was going on as “A program,” and one Joe used to believe in. I am really beginning to think more and more that this is either some government brainwashing camp, or everyone was sent here to be “saved” (aka brainwashed) by their family. The last one the Ambassador and Tori don’t neatly fit into though, as whoever is behind the camp seems to be blackmailing him. I could however see him sending her there for a multitude of reasons!
Suspicions about Joe continued to rise, and then he ended up getting poisoned. Moira had two solutions, but both could either kill him or purge the toxin from his body, depending on what it was. Erika however had a third idea, claiming she’d seen this in prison when people tried to make moonshine with antifreeze. Old fashion Vodka should counteract everything. Moira agreed, but before Erika would give it to him she demanded to know if he was working for the people behind the camera. He nodded, and she gave him the vodka. Later we learned who poisoned Joe . . . it was Erika! She was shown dumping Antifreeze down a sink. She’s in love with Janet and wants Joe out of the way, so Janet is all hers. Nice try sweetie, but I don’t think Janet swings that way.
I can’t wait for next week’s show as Joe may finally begin to give us answers. However it does appear Erika and the others are torturing it out of him. It looks like a painful show next week.
In other developments, Renbe and Kate ended up running from the men in blue, who are connected with the abductions and the camp. They went to Rome to Tori’s funeral, and met with the drug runner Tori was dating (Franco from Days!). He too had been tracking these men in blue. Renbe broke into the Ambassador’s office and found a photo of Tori, Janet and Joe standing outside the chinese restaurant in the mystery town.
