Pretty Little Liars “Boys Club” and Nine Lives of Chloe King (Finale) Thoughts

Pretty Little Liars “Boys Club” and Nine Lives of Chloe King (Finale) Thoughts

So as usual, some quick thoughts on ABC Fam’s Tuesday night dramas . . . I keep meaning to get into their new one “The Lying Game” before I miss too many episodes!

“Pretty Little Liars” is coming up on it’s Summer Finale, which probably means it will once again be off the air until January.

Spencer and Toby figured out that Ian, Jason and Garret all had a secret club, the “We Se All” club. They wondered if all three were part of Ian’s sick girl taping plot.

Spencer also finally began to wonder, what if there is more than one -A? What if there are several people in on it? Took them long enough to think up that one.

Jenna is getting ready for an eye operation to see again. She knows the girls know she is dating Garret. She’s desperate to keep Jason from remembering something, and Aria or the others of figuring it out . . .

Aria’s mom got dangerously close to learning the truth about Aria and Fitz in this episode, but thought he was seeing Spencer . . . and talked about hurt and disappointed and angry she’d be at Fitz. Just when Fitz and Aria had decided to tell her parents the truth too!

Aria learned about Jason’s creepy photos of her, but he claimed it was an old role of film of Alison’s. Something tells me Alison was probably the president of the “We See All” club, and she saw something that got her killed. I’m still waiting for that creepy cop (not Garret, the other one that slept with Hannah’s mom) to return at some point.

I’m not feeling this whole storyline with Hannah and her new step-sister to be, and the war between them. Is this story necessary? Will it figure into -A somehow at some point?

Poor Emily is being targeted by -A a lot. Last week forced to ruin her relationship with her new girlfriend, and this week having been felt up by -A in the massage parlor. Ew! Though last week I don’t know why she didn’t fake out -A and give that girl her facebook name or something.

From previews, it looks like the girls old therapist is going to figure out who -A is, which probably means she’s going to be dead soon. Then there is Aria’s brother who is seemingly suffering from depression. Does he know something about all of this and it’s eating at him?

As for “Chloe King,” I loved the finale! I unfortunately missed last week’s episode, so I was a bit lost with the whole Grandma storyline and what her real game is. Is she bad like Brian’s dad? Or is she working against him somehow to protect Chloe? She claimed she didn’t want to waste time if this girl wasn’t the uniter.

I was also lost on Alec’s twin brother who came in and killed the other Mai girl and her mom (the Mai leader lady – ex Lorna from Another World). Of course we don’t know if they’re really dead, but it didn’t look good for them.

Chloe was lured into a trap by people working for Brian’s grandma, to find out if she was the uniter and had 9 lives. Chloe got shot, Brian ran to her and kissed her . . . then of course she came back and because they kissed . . . he’s not in good shape. Uh oh!

I am left wondering if all the contact from her dad was bogus? Or does he exist? Is he someone we’ve seen and just not realized it?

“Pretty Little Liars” has a lot of stories heating up all over the place. “Chloe King?” My interest comes and goes depending on the episode. Here are some quick thoughts on both.

It looks like the hockey stick is what killed Alison. Scratch that, being buried alive killed her! The girls think Jason is looking more and more guilty, but I have a feeling Melissa killed her and her and Spencer’s dad is covering it up, and always has been. At least that is my theory this week!

I wonder who put drugs into Emily’s system? Were her tests at the hospital tampered with, or has someone drugged her?

Loved Hannah’s mom giving her dad the heave-ho, but I’ll miss Roark Critchlow if they really are writing him off the show.

Hannah and Aria’s moms are slowly figuring out that something big is going on involving all their girls and Alison.

Over to “Chloe King,” I really liked last weeks episode with the Jackals. Definitely neat to learn there are other unique beings. This weeks episode, I wasn’t so thrilled with. I do like that Chloe told her mom about her dad still being alive and suddenly writing her back. I hope we meet him soon.

Pretty Little Liars: Ring On It!

Pretty Little Liars: Ring On It!

The latest episode was a little light on “A” and a little more heavy on “love.”

Hannah spent most of the episode matchmaking for Lucas and another girl at school. She also learned that Caleb was staying with Lucas until he could figure out what to do.

Spencer and Toby also did the love dance, both finally saying “I love you.” Toby took a job working for Allison’s brother Jason, and this worried Spencer. She knows someone other than Jason is in that house!

We learned via flashbacks that Allison seemed to fear her brother and his friends. Also she threatened to tell her grandma what a loser her brother was, which would result in him being cut out of the will . . . . so Jason REALLY had a motive to kill her!

-A sent Emily a fake acceptance college letter to force her mom to let her stay in Rosewood . . . so -A could continue to play “cat and mouse” with her.

Aria found herself in a college level art class along with Jenna, it of course wasn’t pretty.

Finally Spencer tried to reach out to her sister, saying she hoped her sister might defend and protect her over . . . someone who wasn’t her. Melissa of course couldn’t be bothered with Spencer, telling her not to think about making her pick between her and Ian.

Spencer found, and pawned, a diamond engagement ring . . . my guess is Melissa’s. She needed the money to buy Toby supplies he needed so he didn’t work work Jason and could freelance. However at the end of the show . . . we saw the mystery person buying the ring back before Spencer could!

Also, the end had the girls spying on Melissa meeting her ex-husband-to-be outside Jason’s house and getting a bag of something. The girls suspect pain meds for Ian . . . but clearly it must be something bigger . . . . It can’t be that easy can it?

I’d like to think Jason and Melissa both know Ian is hiding at Jason’s house . . . . but that seems too obvious. I do think both Melissa and Jason know far more about Allison and her death than what they claim.

As for “Chloe King” . . . once again I found myself feeling Ehhhh! It didn’t hold my interest enough that I didn’t let myself get distracted during it. I’m hoping they have a marathon over the holiday weekend so I can sit down and force myself to watch them all 🙂

PLL: Allison’s Brother Keeps Secrets Too!

This week on “Pretty Little Liars” the drama over Ian continued. Nobody had seen him, and Melissa was acting very odd. Spencer eventually gave her her cell phone back . . . Melissa claimed she needed it incase the police called about Ian. Right! Because they can’t call the home phone? Later Spencer caught Melissa in another lie, that she had stayed inside all day. Her coat was wet, and she had gone to have an ultra-sound on the baby.

Allison’s brother Jason moved back to town, and Spencer decided to be friendly. Melissa warned her that Ian always said he was not be trusted . . . because Ian’s a great source! Jason kept suspiciously asking Spencer about Ian, if he flat out said he killed Allison. Spencer said no, but it seemed liked he wanted to make sure people thought she did. Jason also put up a large fence for “privacy,” but Spencer felt it was to hide something . . . or someone.

Is Jason putting up Ian? If so why? Are they friends, or does Jason feel Ian killed Allison and is hiding him to get his own revenge? Or could Jason be Alison’s killer? He was very interested in what Ian said about Allison’s death . . . did Ian know too much? Were they in on it together?

Elsewhere, Toby faced discrimination issues at his new job, Fitz retired and he and Aria worked things out, and Emily found a possible way to stay in Rosewood. Seems she’s being scouted by a university, but she needs to finish school where she is . . . disruptions look bad.

As for “Chloe King,” I honestly need to re-watch this week’s episode. I found myself distracted during it, and to be honest a little bored. I also have this feeling that the human guy she likes so much . . . well his father is probably one of the people out to get Chloe.

ABC Family Tuesdays Are Back!

ABC Family Tuesdays Are Back!

“Pretty Little Liars” returned for the summer as of last night. I still never did finish the books, and I think I just read a 9th one came out just recently? Yeah at this point I’ll just wait till they tell us who -A is on the show!

The show picked up where it left off, with Ian’s body going missing. By the end of the show, it appeared Ian was alive, in hiding, and texting Melissa (whose phone Spencer swiped). I still feel like the two of them are in on this together for some odd reason. I think Melissa could be the killer and Ian is actually covering for her . . . but I don’t think they are -A.

Aria and Fitz are on the outs, because he lied to her about his former girlfriend, who he was apparently still seeing when they got together. Oh and were Fitz’s sprayed on abs the most hilarious thing you ever saw! I sat there thinking . . . I think he has way too many abs!

Emily’s mom is determined to move them to Texas, but I’ve read Emily manages to stay in whatever their town’s name is. She supposedly tells some lie to stay. My guess is she’ll be moving in with Hannah?

Hannah was back hanging out with Mona, who is the other suspicious person to me. The geeky guy (Zach I think?) who liked Hannah brought her boyfriend back to town, but Hannah still has trust issues with him. I am actually hoping Hannah and Zach will have a shot, but I doubt that will happen.

Toby and Spencer’s relationship is on the rocks, as Toby’s parents don’t want HIM seeing her! That’s kinda a laugh, since their sone was the pariah of town not too long ago.

After “Pretty Little Liars” was the premier of “The Nine Lives of Chloe King.” In all honesty I don’t have that much to say. If you watched the promo I posted a week or so ago . . . it pretty much summed up the whole first show!

I’ll be interested in finding out what Chloe’s dad has to do with it all, as he’s been missing for ten years and contacted her at the very end. I almost thought perhaps he was her birth dad, which would explain how he could have gotten her out of Russia (where she was from) so easily. But then they explained that their race and humans don’t mix well, and as far as we know Chloe’s mom is a human (Chloe being adopted).
