So this is another week-of-shows-in-one post. I’ve been very busy lately, and hope to eventually get back to more individualistic show-by-show posts, but this is the easiest way for me to do this right now and not fall behind. Oh, and I’m already behind! I still haven’t caught up on “Heroes Reborn,” and I’m 2/3 of the way through season one of “How To Get Away With Murder.” For those asking about “Scandal,” I kept trying to like that show but never got into it. Maybe next summer I’ll binge watch it!
This week “American Horror Story: Hotel” debuts, along with the return of “Grim.” I’m looking forward to both!
I never commented on the end of “Big Brother 17” or “Under the Dome,” because frankly both sucked. I actually stopped watching “Big Brother,” worst season and cast ever! As for “Under The Dome,” just what the hell? Clearly they were still hopeful for another season, but given the whole alien invasion crap, I don’t know why. What a way to blow what was a good show.
Onto “Castle,” I’m glad they quickly resolved this secret agent Beckett storyline, but with her as Captain now I wonder how involved she will be with the day to day cases. It will definitely be interesting to see where they go with things this season.
“Gotham” has been getting better and better. I love the villains, and am wondering what or who Barbara will become. It almost seems they are setting her up to be Harley Quinn. I love that they’ve brought Lucious Fox in to help Bruce become Batman, along with Alfred.
“Grey’s” was just okay this week. I like seeing more of Miranda, but I just don’t know where they will take things this year. Amelia and Owen are great, but they aren’t the new MerDer. I also am glad that Jackson is not just taking April back after the crap she’s been pulling.
I have to wonder how long before Rayna signs her kids to her label on “Nashville,” as it seems they could help save it for her. Watching Juliette spiral out of control is terribly fun, and I can’t believe Luke dropped Will like that. For shame!
I really enjoyed the season premiere of “Once,” especially the reversal of roles with Emma and Regina. However, another fricken missing time/memories curse? Come on! There are only so many times that stuff can be done.
I have been watching “Project Runway,” I just had forgotten to comment on it. Its pretty obvious Edmund, Ashley and Candice will be the final three, unless something insane happens.
“Scream Queens” is still my favorite show of the season so far, likely because of the newness of it. I loved the transformation of Leah Michelle’s character into Channel #6. I still am lost on who the killer is, other than it seems there are two, and Nick Jonas character is working with the original.
“Sleepy Hollow” returned this week, and I for one am glad the Henry/Katrina arch has ended. That was becoming tedious, and frankly standing in the way of any romance between Ichabod and Mills. Though that won’t happen soon, as it’s usually the death of these types of shows. I do like that they’ve been able to craft a whole new storyline for them as witnesses.
So I fell way behind with my blog this past year, mainly due to an increase in my hours working. I’m going to try and get back into the routine this summer and not lose it when the fall comes back around! This post is to give my quick thoughts on many of the finales for the shows I watch. It’s been awhile for some, so I’m doing my best to recall what happened.
Grey’s Anatomy
I’m still furious that they killed of McDreamy, but at least Meredith, her sister and Amelia all ended up in a good place with one another by the end of the season. Meredith moving back to her old house was a great idea too. As for Jackson and April, I hope they work things out.
Grimmm
I’m stunned they actually killed off Juliette, but was glad the did so as she became a real witch. It seems she really is dead, or the show really wants us to believe that for now. Her death also opens up the possibility of something between Adalind and Nick. I am confused as to if Adalind has lost her powers again though. Meanwhile that weird organization seems to be after Truble, but I can’t help but worry she’s already working with them and called them in.
Nashville
It looks like Deacon’s sister Bev is a goner, as I refuse to believe they will kill Deacon off the show. The arrest of Teddy was shocking, though not as shocking as the fact that Tandy was the real mastermind behind many of her father’s dirty dealings. I wonder if this means she’ll return next year? I loved that Will finally came out of the closet. It’s about time! Juliette’s story was heartbreaking, and I can’t believe that witch betrayed Rayna by going to Jeff.
Sleepy Hollow
The death of Ichabod’s wife Katrina was just as fulfilling as Juliette on Grimm. What’s with these good girls gone bad? Jeremy also got his it would seem, after taking out Molloch. I’m not sure who there is to be the next big bad now? Old headless?
Gotham
I watched “Gotham” this season, but honestly near the end of the season started to lose interest. The final few shows with the discovery of the batcave and the bloodbath amongst the mobsters was really good though.
The Flash
“The Flash” was probably my favorite new show all year, and one of my favorites period. I loved the characters, and the villains, and cannot wait for it to return. Given they killed erased Wells from history, well his imposter, I can’t help but wonder what repercussions throughout time that will create. There basically should be no Flash right now, as Well’s created him! This is a possible way to bring back the real Wells if they want to though.
The Returned & Bates Motel
I completely lost interest in these two A&E shows. I do want to try and finish “The Returned” at some point this summer, as well as watch the original French version. I did see the final few episodes of “Bates,” especially after hearing about the pivotal final scene.
“Grimm” has been wonderful lately, but also incredibly frustrating. The flip-flopping of Juliette and Adeline’s roles as hero/villain is bizarre, as I never thought I would loath Juliette so much. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they killed her off! The previews for the next two shows, which are the last of the season, have Nick crying in pain. At first thought it would be because Juliette died. They made a point to remind us of Aunt Marie’s prophecy in the very first show, that Juliette would end up dying, or perhaps she just said he would lose her, I can’t recall. In a way he has lost her, she’s a fricken evil as hell hexenbeast! In a way she is also dead to Nick. I’m now thinking with Nick’s mom being lured home that Juliette will kill her and deliver the child to the Royals. That would totally destroy any chance they have of fixing things. It’s also looking like they are setting up both of Adeline’s babies to be enemies with one another. From next week’s promo it appears her first child is growing rapidly. I am not a fan of the supernaturally rapidly aging children, as those tend to end up causing the show to jump the shark and turn stupid. Yes, I’m thinking of the terrible final season of “Ghost Whisperer” here.
I’m glad to see the return of Truble in the preview, I’ve actually missed her. The Jack the Ripper story was an interesting twist, though I can’t believe they killed the hexenbeast lady that’s been helping everyone. WOW! Didn’t see that coming. I sure hope we get answers to what is going on with Captain Sexy Pants.
Next week’s promo, if you want to see it again . . .
“Grimm” has been renewed for Season 5.
Spoilers for the next two shows, including the season finale, below!
“Grimm” continues to be excellent, though I’m still somewhat confused about the entire Royals vs the Resistance thing. This week we found out Victor seems to be out and some cousin to Renard is in as the new royal golden boy? In all these fighting over the baby they seemed to have dropped the whole storyline involving those keys they were initially after. One thing about “Grimm” that annoys me is these little dropped storylines.
Adalind realizes she needs to seduce someone and fast in order to pass off her baby as someone else’s. Given what happened when she got a little bit of Nick’s blood in her once before, what is his baby going to do to her?
I don’t think Juliette turning to Renard will lead to anything good given their past. I worry something will happen between them and then we’ll have another bun in the oven.
They finally brought back Renard’s mysterious bleeding, which will continue based on the spoilers for the next few shows. Not sure what it all means, but they better not kill him off. I’m worried this could be a way to finish him, and that his mother’s spell to save him had limits.

“Grimm” finally returned with a new episode this week. We also got some answers to some questions we’ve been pondering, and a new twist. First, Nick can’t do the blood trick to rid Juliette of being a Hexenbeast, thanks to some immunity she has because of Adalind’s blood. I knew they’d have to come up with a way around that.
Nick and Juliette are on the outs because of her being what she is, and she’s now turning to Sean. Oh brother! Not only did she turn to Sean, but Adalind also is trying to convince him to turn on Nick and the others in order to get their baby back. Poor Nick, everyone is turning on him it seems.
The shocker was the reveal that Adalind was pregnant with Nick’s baby. I kinda expected this to come, but it was still an interesting twist. What will the baby be though? Will it be more powerful than the baby Nick’s mom is already hiding? This baby has to be linked to what is going on with Juliette too, as she initially thought she was pregnant. Maybe when the baby is born, Juliette will go back to normal? What about that weird connection between Nick and Adalind earlier in the season. Was that the baby?
So many questions!

Grimm: What’s Going On With Juliette And Captain Sexy?
Posted by Dustin on 02.08.2015 at 4:37 pm
So “Grimm” has been on fire lately. However as usual I tend to pick apart the unanswered questions. For example, why was it so difficult for Adalind to get her Hexenbeast powers back, yet so easy for Julia to become one? I wonder if Renard’s mother knew that this would happen to Julia? She doesn’t seem to be an ordinary Hexenbeast either, but one with some kind of insane powers.
With Adalind back in town will they finally explore the weird connection she and Nick had earlier in the season that was causing them to see through the other’s eyes? Also Renard was bleeding out from his gunshot wounds in one episode, but in the next was fine. Huh?
I’m loving that Wu is now on team Grimm though. Both Wu and Hank could do with some love interests though.
Spoilers for the next episode below!
TRIAL BY FIRE – February 13
A FIERY WESEN RISES IN PORTLAND – DANIEL ROEBUCK, GIDEON EMERY, GARCELLE BEAUVAIS AND ALEXIS DENISOF GUEST STAR – When an arson case looks to have Wesen origins, Nick (David Giuntoli) find himself reluctantly having to ask an old foe for help. Elsewhere, Viktor (guest star Alexis Denisof) teaches Adalind (Claire Coffee) the effectiveness of well-played diplomacy. Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) finds herself in a confrontation sooner than expected. Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee and Bree Turner also star.
So this is my very overdue post on my quick thoughts on bunches of shows and their Winter finales. Between work and getting sick and then the holidays I just didn’t get to it as soon as I had planned to. Of note I’m heading out on my January vacation. Not too many shows are coming back yet though, but some are. “Pretty Little Liars” is starting up again, as is “American Horror Story,” and ABC is airing “Galavant.” The later I’m worried about since they turned an 8 week series into a 4 week one to just get it over with quicker. Yeah that probably isn’t a good sign.
American Horror Story
I’m just really disappointed with this show overall this season. As I said before, it really has just become nothing more that a shock-fest at this point. It’s hard to care about most of these characters, and the ones you do care for like Ma Petite get offed. I seriously can’t believe they killed her! However even the emotion I felt for her death can’t really save this season.
Constantine
I really enjoy this show and the episode with the fallen angel they had to save was the best of the season because of the twist within. I seriously hope NBC doesn’t cancel this one.
Gotham
This show still has my interest, though I really want an injection of some kind of masked villain or hero at this point. I feel like they aren’t using kid catwoman enough either.
Grey’s Anatomy
Once again Shonda has resorted to causing problems for Meredith and Derek. This far into the show I feel like that is just lazy writing she’s falling back on. We’ve watched too many seasons of that, just let them be happy and deal with other issues. I would also like to see Owen finally get a bit of happiness too. He’s just seemed so angry since Christina left.
Grimm
Grimm is probably my favorite show right now, it is really delivering every week. It looks like Nick’s mom may be making a return with the baby in the second half of the season. I’d really like to see Truble back at some point too. Poor Woo has gone off his rocker though, and who can blame him. Nick should have told him the truth long ago. OF course we know Monroe won’t be dying anytime soon, but what’s going on with poor Julia? Has she really become a hexenbeast?
The Flash
I’m officially adding “The Flash” to the blog. I think this is one of the best new shows of the year. I absolutely loved seeing Dr. Tina McGee reprise her role from the 90s version. I also can’t wait to see how they pull of Firestar, who is one of my favorite DC characters next to Wonder Woman. News has also dropped that Mark Hammill will reprise his role as The Trixter which he too played in the old 90s version. I just hope he doesn’t have that horrid spandex body suit.
Nashville
That mid-season finale was definitely one with some twists and turns I was not expecting. I kinda knew Rayna wouldn’t go through with the wedding, but I never saw an Avery and Juliette wedding that quick. Surprise! I’m also stunned at Deacon’s health issues, I wasn’t expecting those either. Meanwhile Jeff is up S-creek as it looks like Layla may be the latest casualty on the show. Would they really kill her off? Would anyone really care if they did might be a better question. Like Zoe she’s started to outlive her purpose.
Once Upon A Time
So it looks like we haven’t gotten rid of Anna and Elsa just yet, as they seem to now be stuck in Storybrooke with the others. I hope they don’t keep them around simply to keep cashing in on “Frozen.” The rise of the three bad girls looks to be good, and I love me some Maleficent! I loved Belle one-uping Rumple and commanding him to leave town with the dagger. Having to watch Robin leave to save Marianne was heartbreaking though. Poor Regina! At least they are back to looking for the book’s writer, but now Gold has that idea too. Oh boy.
Red Band Society
Red Band left us with a string of cliffhangers, and it looks like we may finally be facing the death of one of the kids. Hunter headed into surgery, Emma passed out at her house, and Jordi is now a drug dealer? Oy! I could do without Jordi’s illegal activities honestly.
Sleepy Hollow
Henry/Walter finally saw the light and turned on Mollock in what was a “effing finally!” moment. I was getting so sick of Henry’s bitching and moaning about his parents abandoning him. I really hope this doesn’t turn out to be a ploy though and he still ends up on the side of evil.
So “Grimm” is really getting on my nerves. As I lamented in my last blog about the show, I worried they would drag out powerless Nick for far too long, and it looks like they are doing just that. I hate this! I don’t expect him to get his powers back until at least half-way through the season at this point. I am at least glad Monroe and Rosalie are going behind Juliette’s back to restore his powers. However by the end of the latest episode it appeared that someone was about to raid The Spice Shop and stop them. Meanwhile, Truble has been contacted by the FBI Wesen who have offered to have her work for powerful people to rid the world of bad Wesen. It sounds like the resistance, but something tells me they actually work for the Royals.
I actually have found myself really enjoying “Constantine.” However the numbers apparently aren’t so hot for it. I’m trying not to get too attached to it, but I do hope NBC gives it a chance to find an audience. It’s definitely different and unique, that is for sure.
Of note, I finally caught an episode of “The Mysteries of Laura” on NBC and really liked it. I’m for sure going to catch up on it and keep watching. I never got into “Forever” due to time, but I have heard nothing but good things about “How To Get Away With Murder,” so I want to get into that. Thankfully the winter break period is coming up so I can play catch-up with these new shows.
Spoilers for the next two shows for both “Grimm” and “Constantine” below!
So “Grimm” returned last night, but so far there is no joyous news. Renard is barely hanging on, but a mysterious blond visitor has come to see him. They made it seem like it was Adeline, until we saw her face and knew it wasn’t her. In the previews she revealed to Nick and others that she was a Hexen beast like Adeline and could be the only one to help them. Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that this is Renard’s mother we’ve never met?
Nick still doesn’t have his powers, and I hope they solve this sooner rather than later. If it takes half the season to get his powers back then I will be grinding my teeth. I really didn’t like that in the previews Juliette suggested to Rosalie that they not cure Nick. Boo! This is just going to cause more trouble for her and Nick.
I do like that Truble is still around, and would like to see them keep her on in some way. Perhaps if not permanently than as a reoccurring guest star. I could see NBC trying to give her a spin-off, which I think would be a mistake.
Finally I love that Reggie is starting to get more and more suspicious of Nick and Hank and what they are hiding from him. I do feel bad for him and hope they tell him soon.
“Grimm” returns tonight on NBC. I’m so excited! I hope Nick gets his powers back quickly, and of course that Captain Sexy doesn’t end up dying on us. The show is followed by “Constantine” which I plan to give a try. Below are spoilers for the first two episodes of “Grimm!”
