Fringe Fridays: Peter’s Back, But Nobody Knows Him!

Fringe Fridays: Peter’s Back, But Nobody Knows Him!

So I finally caught up with “Fringe” this weekend and was glad to see that Peter finally returned. I was expecting half the season to pass before that happened. But now I’m more confused than ever. A week ago they had Walter explaining how both Peters died as children, his from illness and the other Peter was never saved from the lake by the watcher and drowned. By crossing over Walter started the rift and the war between the two sides.

Okay, but now Peter, who both Olivia and Walter had been seeing in visions, is back. He claims he’s Peter Bishop and he knows them and what is going on. But they still don’t seem to know him, and it is as if both Peters really died . . . or so they think?

I’m so confused! Clearly all that got altered when Peter vanished has not been put back (i.e. Other Olivia’s baby, everyone’s memories of Peter). Did both Peters die, or did the Watchers just erase all memories of him? If it’s the later, then the baby should be out there somewhere too.

A Hodge Podge: Pan Am, Dirty Soap, Ringer, Fringe, Secret Circle, 90210 Thoughts . . .

A Hodge Podge: Pan Am, Dirty Soap, Ringer, Fringe, Secret Circle, 90210 Thoughts . . .

This is a quick post with some quick thoughts on a bunch of other shows I’ve watched over the week, but didn’t get around to doing a full post on, but wanted to squeeze some quick thoughts out on . . .

After episode two of “Pan Am” I’m thinking people at ABC might not only be having doubts about canning “Brothers and Sisters,” but here is hoping they may be giving having this be “Desperate Housewives” final season. The ratings for the second episode went downnnnn. For me, the best story they had going was the mystery surrounding Bridgett, and they resolved it in the second episode! I’ll keep watching, but other things might start taking priority when the networks no doubt beging shifting things.

Have you tuned into “Dirty Soap” on E! O M G! This show is just more drama than you’ll see on any soap. The Kirsten Storms vs Farath Fath (Belle vs Mimi) drama alone is worth tuning in for! But then you also have Farah and Nadjia (Mimi and Chloe) facing off with their mother or mother-in-law-to-bes over the men in their lives. OMG it’s just such a sick and twisted show!

“Ringer” I’m still loving, it’s my most new favorite show so far . . . that may change this month with the onslaught of fairy tale shows and “American Horror Story.” I do wonder how long they can take the premise. I mean eventually the truth that Siobhan is alive and Bridget has been impersonating her will be exposed.

“Fringe” . . . Oh I still love you, but you make me scratch my head. With Peter gone, I guess we are just supposed to figure the Broyles on the other side never died? Cause he was back with no explanation this week! I do feel my initial thoughts were right, half of the season will be with Peter missing. Grrr!

I am really starting to get into “Secret Circle.” The latest episode with a guy from their parents past coming to end the new circle, and the titillating fact that Cassie’s mom might not have been all that good . . . putting some friend into a cationic state was just great. Why did she do it? What do the evil parents want? I’m really starting to like the show!

“90210” . . . what can I say about you? Naomi is the only thing worth watching for anymore. Eventually Silver and Adrianna are going to have a huge WTF moment over the fact they fought over Navid . . . one of the biggest tools on the show. I don’t care about Dixon’s recording job, I don’t care about Liam’s bar, I only marginally care about Annie and her money woes. This show is probably not going to be around for another season.

Freaky Fridays: Fringe Returns!

Freaky Fridays: Fringe Returns!

“Fringe” returned last night with an entire episode almost completely lacking the character of Peter Bishop. Last season he sacrificed himself to try and begin healing the two universes, but also creating a bridge between the two. In doing so, it’s as if he never existed. He’s just gone . . . well almost.

I found myself very confused. If Peter never existed, what about his kid with FauxLivia? It seems like it never existed either . . . so if he comes back will the kid? Also if Peter never existed, how did the tear in the universe ever happen? How did Olivia come to know who Walter was? She went into that a little, claiming she is the one who went to Walter for help with what happened to her old partner. It’s also as if Walter no longer owns Massive Dynamic either. Where is Nina? I can’t remember, but I think she bit it in the season finale last year . . . .

The one watcher who caused all the problems was given some chip and device to make sure every trace of Peter Bishop was erased. It seems like he didn’t do what he was told though, which gives hope. Walter is seeing Peter in reflections. Is Walternate also seeing him? Most of the season premier took place on our side, with Olivia getting a new partner to work with . . . the agent who on this side is geeky, but on the other side was the guy with the burns and couldn’t be out of the oxygen tank for an extended period of time.

It also seems like Walternate is also at it again, with a new breed of shape shifters who are the big bad for this season. I have NOT seen any spoilers for “Fringe” at all, so I really don’t know what they have planned. From the previews though I’m guessing we’ll spend half the season without Peter, which is gunna suck if true.

Fringe: My New Friday Night Staple

Fringe: My New Friday Night Staple

Posted by Dustin on 02.10.2011 at 11:58 pm

With the death of “Medium,” “Fringe” has now become my Friday night TV show to watch. I am just hoping the move to Friday nights won’t be the death of the show!

The show has definitely become a soap opera as of late, with Peter torn between two Olivias, ReaLivia and FauxLivia. In the latest episode, ReaLivia learned from a mind reader that Peter still has feelings for FauxLivia. Nooooo! But even more serious is that it sees whichever Olivia Peter chooses, that Olivia’s world will be saved (should Peter ever get into this First Peoples Machine that Walternate is assembling). I guess all I have to say is that ReaLivia better start putting out!

I have missed some episodes, so perhaps this was explained somewhere, but why does Nina now seem to have to real hands? She had for so long had a robotic metal arm to replace the arm she lost during a wormhole incident with Bell. I had just noticed with the latest episode, it looks like she has two arms again. Did I miss something, or is this a clue that this is AlterNina?

Next week’s episode goes back to the otherside, so I can’t wait to see how FauxLivia is doing without Peter! Is she yearning for him? Will it screw up her work?

Frustrated By Fringe

Frustrated By Fringe

So I decided to finally add “Fringe” to my list of shows I blog about. I probably won’t blog about it weekly, but from time to time. I probably haven’t seen every episode from Season 1 and 2, but enough to know what was going on. Season 3 definitely has a more connected feel to the episodes.

Right now however I’m frustrated. I hate the FauxLivia story! I don’t like that the real Olivia also has been brainwashed on the other side into thinking that is where she belongs. The longer they drag this out, the more frustrated I know I’ll become 🙂

I am beginning to think that Walter crossing over to get Peter did not start this chain reaction destroying the other world as we are lead to believe. I think something else happened long before that, and I think Walternate is probably involved. He seems to be the one constantly making it known they are at war with our side and we are the bad guys, not them.

Then there is the weapon Walternate is building, pieces of which seem to be on both sides. Yeah, like I said, perhaps it was this weapon that started the other side’s breakdown? Whose technology is it also. Massive Dynamic, or those Watcher Peoples? I never saw the episode explaining the Watcher Guys fully, so I am lost on them. I guess I need to go read up a bit.

Glee, Fringe, 90210 Return Dates

Glee, Fringe, 90210 Return Dates

Posted by Dustin on 07.16.2010 at 1:22 pm

Just a quick post on some other show return dates for the fall. The CW is getting the jump on everyone, premiering several of their new shows beginning September 8th.

“90210” moves to Mondays on September 13th. The big news this season is also the new poll, one of the three main guys comes out of the closet!

Over on Fox, the week of September 20th is their premier week for most shows, just as it is for NBC. “Glee” returns on September 21st, while “Fringe” returns on September 23rd.

Given the loss of so many shows I watched this past season, I’ve added “Fringe” to the blog. I enjoy the show, but as it’s on against “Grey’s,” I always fall behind with it. Plus so many of the shows are stand-alone shows, and I have trouble finding things to comment on those type of shows, ones that have arcs are easier because it leads to speculation.
