As always I keep meaning to post more, I’ve just been stressed, overworked, and have some personal issues going on. But let’s get to some quick thoughts on TV!
“American Horror Story” is so bizarre, but I love it. I just can’t figure half of it out, but each show reveals just a little bit more. I wish we’d get more focus on the Ten Commandments killer, and it looks like we may with the upcoming Halloween episodes.
I’m still enjoying “Castle,” I just don’t know how much longer the show can go on. The mysteries are still fresh, but the Rick and Kate drama is getting old.
I’m so glad Paula went home on “DWTS.” That Vogue routine was the worst! She just stood there and waved a fan. WTF?
“Gotham” is getting really good with the war between the Galavan family and the Waynes, and their history having been explained. Very interesting! I also can’t wait for “Supergirl” which begins tomorrow.
I like that they brought in Derek’s “killer” on “Grey’s Anatomy.” This should be really interesting. I’m glad Meredith told Amelia off. I always liked the character until recently when she became all about herself. Me me me! Thank you Meredith for telling her to shut the hell up as she wasn’t the only one who lost Derek.
Honestly I have not watched anymore of “Heroes Reborn” since the 2 hour pilot. It was slow and bored me. I have the episodes on my DVR to play catch-up on still.
I’m so loving “Nashville.” It’s one of the top shows I look forward to every week. I loved Rayna and Layla bonding this past week. Jeff needs to go! He is a sleaze! I’m glad to see him on the show more and that he hasn’t left due to “Scream Queens.” Juliette is about to take a leave of absence from the show, and it seems they are setting her up to go to the crazy house for a bit. She definitely needs to get some help. I still want more focus on Will.
“Once Upon A Time” has been amazing this season. I love the twist that Arthur is evil. As I write this I haven’t watched tonight’s episode, but will shortly.
“Scream Queens” is amazing as always. It seems the one older returned Kappa Kappa Kappa member is one of the killers, but who is the other she is working with? Why do I feel she has a connection to the woman who died giving birth to Grace, and is that woman is Grace’s mother? Abigail Breslin’s “Chanel” mentioned she was a legacy and had to be taken in, so I’m thinking she’s connected to the dead mother via her own mother.
“Sleepy Hollow” has been enjoyable, but I’m starting to wonder if we are going to have a new main villain every season from here on out given this whole trial of the witnesses.
“The Flash” has been great, and I love the addition of Teddy Sears as alternate Earth Flash. Can we keep him around, as he is so good looking! It looks like from the previews that Firestorm is going to be reborn, but I want the original actor back in the role of Ronnie Raymond! It seems the actor moved on to the new “X-Files” though and had to be recast, or in this case killed and the character re-worked. Boo!
So this is another week-of-shows-in-one post. I’ve been very busy lately, and hope to eventually get back to more individualistic show-by-show posts, but this is the easiest way for me to do this right now and not fall behind. Oh, and I’m already behind! I still haven’t caught up on “Heroes Reborn,” and I’m 2/3 of the way through season one of “How To Get Away With Murder.” For those asking about “Scandal,” I kept trying to like that show but never got into it. Maybe next summer I’ll binge watch it!
This week “American Horror Story: Hotel” debuts, along with the return of “Grim.” I’m looking forward to both!
I never commented on the end of “Big Brother 17” or “Under the Dome,” because frankly both sucked. I actually stopped watching “Big Brother,” worst season and cast ever! As for “Under The Dome,” just what the hell? Clearly they were still hopeful for another season, but given the whole alien invasion crap, I don’t know why. What a way to blow what was a good show.
Onto “Castle,” I’m glad they quickly resolved this secret agent Beckett storyline, but with her as Captain now I wonder how involved she will be with the day to day cases. It will definitely be interesting to see where they go with things this season.
“Gotham” has been getting better and better. I love the villains, and am wondering what or who Barbara will become. It almost seems they are setting her up to be Harley Quinn. I love that they’ve brought Lucious Fox in to help Bruce become Batman, along with Alfred.
“Grey’s” was just okay this week. I like seeing more of Miranda, but I just don’t know where they will take things this year. Amelia and Owen are great, but they aren’t the new MerDer. I also am glad that Jackson is not just taking April back after the crap she’s been pulling.
I have to wonder how long before Rayna signs her kids to her label on “Nashville,” as it seems they could help save it for her. Watching Juliette spiral out of control is terribly fun, and I can’t believe Luke dropped Will like that. For shame!
I really enjoyed the season premiere of “Once,” especially the reversal of roles with Emma and Regina. However, another fricken missing time/memories curse? Come on! There are only so many times that stuff can be done.
I have been watching “Project Runway,” I just had forgotten to comment on it. Its pretty obvious Edmund, Ashley and Candice will be the final three, unless something insane happens.
“Scream Queens” is still my favorite show of the season so far, likely because of the newness of it. I loved the transformation of Leah Michelle’s character into Channel #6. I still am lost on who the killer is, other than it seems there are two, and Nick Jonas character is working with the original.
“Sleepy Hollow” returned this week, and I for one am glad the Henry/Katrina arch has ended. That was becoming tedious, and frankly standing in the way of any romance between Ichabod and Mills. Though that won’t happen soon, as it’s usually the death of these types of shows. I do like that they’ve been able to craft a whole new storyline for them as witnesses.
So we’ve made it through the first week of the Fall 2015 season. A lot still hasn’t returned and won’t until October. I’m very excited about “Once Upon A Time’s” return tonight, and after it am hoping to finally make it through “Heroes Reborn,” which is still on my DVD. I’m also still making my way through Season 1 of “How To Get Away With Murder” in order to keep up with Season 2 this year.
“Castle” was the first real show that I watch that returned, and I don’t know what to think. It seems the story with Beckett being hunted, and acting all spy-like, is just a rehash of Castle’s missing time last season in a way. There has also been a lot of speculation that the show plans to break up the newly weds, which would suck if that is true.
“Gotham” also returned. I enjoyed the first episode a lot, mainly because the show is moving more into “Batman” territory. Bruce has found the bat cave, and a league of super villains is being formed. I wasn’t a huge fan of last years mob-centric stories and was getting a little bored with it.
I was surprised how much I liked the “Grey’s” season premier. I thought it would be so different without McDreamy, and it still is, but I really love Meredith and Maggie’s friendship and seeing that blossom. Yay for Bailey being named the new Chief, but the previews for next week seem to have “The Nazi” returning.
I was so glad that “Nashville” did not kill off Deacon. Teddy is definitely in jail, but for how long? Will he turn over Tandy and ruin Rayna’s company, which already seems to be crashing into the ground as is? I feel so bad for Rayna, but once again am hating Juliette. Obviously she’s headed for a huge Scarlett-like meltdown. Scarlett is annoying me too by trying to make her relationship with that doctor work when it’s clear she wants Gunnar. I’m also enjoying Will trying to figure out where he belongs.
For some odd reason I’ve been throwing on “DWTS,” probably just to see the craziness that was Gary Busey. Has anyone noticed how Paula Dean is ALWAYS in the background shots smiling and waving at the camera? I mean she is ALWAYS there!
“Scream Queens” was absolutely amazing! It would seem that the Red Devil killer was likely the baby of the dead sorority girl in the 80s now all grown up, but then they’ve thrown the wrench in there that the baby may be Grace, so she can’t be the killer unless she’s nuts. I loved the twist with Nick Jonas’ character at the end, and of course the “Heathers” reference with all the Chanelles. How weird is it seeing Jeff from “Nashville” on there and not playing a total douche? It looks like he will appear on next week’s “Nashville” only to bow out of the show due to “Scream Queen.”
In other news, both “Mistresses” and “Devious Maids” have earned a 4th season! So happy!

Renewals And Cancellations . . . Plus Summer Shows!
Posted by Dustin on 05.08.2015 at 9:51 am
With the end of the season upon us, lots of shows are being canned or renewed. ABC has put the nail in the coffin for “Resurrection,” so we will never get answers to that one.
“Castle,” “Nashville,” “Once Upon A Time,” “Secrets and Lies” and everything Shonda Rhimes does is coming back.
If you were fan of “Forever,” it’s gone forever sadly.
I’m really glad about “Nashville,” we knew “Once” was coming back, and am surprised about “Secrets and Lies.” I don’t know where they will take it. Will Abby kill again?
This summer I’m looking forward to the return of “Mistresses” and plan to give “The Whisperers” a shot, though ABC horror shows never seem to go over well. They are great, but always last one season. Speaking of horror, I’m looking forward to “Under The Dome” returning as well.
A bunch of spoilers for various ABC shows. I still have to watch “Forever,” which I’m now 3 episodes behind on, and “How To Get Away With Murder.”
Anyways, spoilers for the following shows below, with some minor teasers first if you don’t want the full shebang.
“Once Upon A Time” – It seems ABC is sticking with last season’s plan and only releasing spoilers for the next episode after the previous one airs. On a brighter note, Little Bo Peep has been turned into a villain! Wow!
“Resurrection” – There seems to be a clue in a long old body to the returned. Has this happened before?
“Castle” – It seems my worst fears were realized and they are delaying the wedding. No! It looks like we will get a fun early Halloween show with a paranormal killer?
“Nashville” – Jeff is going after Rayna’s girls. Does he want to sign her kids to Edgehill?
“Grey’s Anatomy” – Meredith looks through her mother’s old diaries and finds something. Uh oh! Sally Pressman (“Army Wives”) guest stars!
The premiere of “Castle” is tonight. I can’t wait to see what in the hell happened to Castle. I hope this doesn’t permanently delay the wedding till the end of the season!
SEASON 7 OF “CASTLE” PICKS UP AT THE SCENE OF CASTLE’S CAR CRASH, SEPTEMBER 29 ON ABC
“Driven” – In the Season 6 finale, as Richard Castle drove to his much-anticipated nuptials, an ominous black SUV bore down on him. Meanwhile, after waiting in vain for Castle to arrive at the wedding, Beckett was called to an accident scene to find Castle’s car in a ravine, engulfed in flames. Who or what caused the car crash? Is there any way Castle could have survived? The episode will pick-up at the scene of that accident, right where the finale left off, in a premiere that promises to put Beckett through the toughest case of her career. Season 7 of “Castle” begins on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.
Guest Cast: Maya Stojan as Tory Ellis, Ryan Sands as Sgt. Taggert, Jon Lindstrom as Agent Connors, Don Stark as Vincent “The Scar” Cardano, Matt Letscher as Henry Jenkins.
This post has my quick thoughts on a lot of the shows from the past week (or two). Some are on the finales, others are on the near finales or mid-season finales.
Bates Motel
Bates will be back for a third season, I just hope it’s more interesting than this season was. The drug war going on was just boring as hell. With the way the season ended, and the heads of the drug families all ending up dead, hopefully the storyline is too. The reveal of Dylan’s parentage was good, and long overdue. The end of the season finally set up Norman as the lying sociopath we know from the movies. He passed a lie detector test because he truly believes he didn’t kill his teacher, that his imagined mother did. Creepiness! I’ll actually feel bad when the time comes for him to kill his mother.
Castle
In the finale few episodes “Castle” gave us great joy and great sorrow. After many seasons Kate finally nabbed her mother’s killer and put him away. It was about damn time, because if that dragged on another season I was going to lose my mind. As Kate and Castle prepared for their wedding, it was spoiled when someone mysterious ran Castle off the road. Kate found his car in flames in a ditch. Now we know Castle isn’t dead, the show is coming back. However if they pull some kind of amnesia storyline on us, I will be fuming. I want my wedding dammit! The “Castle” season finale . . .
Dallas
Dallas will be back late this summer to finish its season out, but what a ride the first half was. The mid-season finale was a roller coaster. Pamela finally learned about John-Ross and Emma, pretended like she wanted a threesome, but then spazzed out and we learned she had downed a bottle of pills. Now we know she’s not gunna die, she’s in the teasers for when it comes back. Why do they do these things to us? Meanwhile Elena started to wise up about her plot with Joaquin, but it was too little, too late. Joaquin is obsessed with her and poked holes in her diaphragm, then they made love. Meanwhile Elana’s brother Drew knows the truth and is out for revenge too. I still say there is something about that land deal we don’t know yet and it will leave Elena with egg on her face. Finally Christopher’s new girlfriend’s ex went and burned down Southfork, with a drunk Sue Ellen stuck inside. Bobby and John-Ross ran in to save her as the place started to come down around them. Oh boy!
Drop Dead Diva
Drop Dead Diva isn’t over yet, but we are getting close to the end. This time it really is going to be the finale, so they better to it right. However as of now I’m so angry that I don’t know if I want to stick around. Oh I will of course, but I’m that angry! After all this time they go and kill off Grayson? Are you kidding me? The only good thing from the previews is that he ends up meeting Fred in heaven and says he needs to get back to Jane. I have been hoping Fred would be back somehow. But if Grayson returns, it obviously will have to be in someone else’s body . . . but whose? Oh “Drop Dead Diva” . . .
Glee
I wasn’t a big fan of “Glee’s” finale either mind you. Just when everyone was getting settled into New York, everyone is now off for different places in the country as we head into the final season. Hate it! Oh and I really just want to grab Rachel and shake the crap out of her. After 5 seasons of having to hear her dream about being on Broadway, she finally gets her dream and after a weeks worth of shows is ready to move on to something else. Are you kidding me?
Grey’s Anatomy
I was waiting during the entire finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” for someone to die, and nobody did! I guess that was Shonda’s shock for the finale? There were other issues. Cristina finally left, and took her side-kick intern with her. Good riddance! I’m still angry it never came out what he did to Heather Brooks. Derrick and Meredith are fighting like cats and dogs over their jobs, and Meredith finally took a stand and told him off. Good for her, but bad for their marriage. Neither is going anywhere though, so we know they’ll work it out. It also looks like Amelia may become a permanent fixture next season. Yay! Poor Bailey though! She thought she had it all, back as head of ER surgery and was going to fill Cristina’s vacant board seat, until Alex learned Cristina left it to him. Noooooooo! Stop beating down my Bailey! The real shocker was the reveal of yet another Grey. A young girl, whom I think took over for Cristina, revealed to The Chief that she had recently found out her mother was Ellis Grey, but had given her up for adoption. That is why she wanted to come work here. Oh yeah, the girl is clearly half African-American, and The Chief knew exactly what that meant! Congrats dude, it’s a girl!
Grimm
I hate to beat a dead horse, but I’m still annoyed we never went anywhere with Nick’s mysterious illness at the beginning of the season. The finale saw Adeline use her latest potion to strip Nick of his powers. The potion he had to drink to restore them, which came from what little liquid was left from her spell, ended up being dropped and broken. It took ten minutes for that to happen, and you knew it was going to happen somehow. Nick seems to be SOL right about now. They left it as if it could be a blessing, that now Nick and Juliette could be happy. Pahleese! Even without his powers, he knows too much and will be a target. He just has to get his powers back, and it will likely take half of next season to do that. Meanwhile as he was investigating poor Renard’s shooting at Nick’s house, Wu found Nick’s Grimm book! He knows he isn’t crazy now. Oh and as for Captain Sexy Pants, he totally can’t die! He has to come back! It’s just like Nick no longer being a Grimm, it just can’t happen.
Nashville
I’m so happy that “Nashville” is coming back next year and for a full season. I thought the finale was really well done. Poor Juliette’s world crumbled around her as Jeff was blackmailing her. Rayna refused to let her go and promised they’d screw Jeff, while Avery learned the truth from Gunnar about Jeff and Juliette’s night of yuck. She begged him not to leave her, and that he was the only man she’s ever really loved, and blah blah blah. Juliette really makes it hard to feel sorry for her most of the time. Elsewhere, Will’s struggle with his sexuality came to a head as he finally told his wife, in the “privacy” of their bedroom, that he was gay. She looked shocked, but neither of them realize the reality show in fact hid a camera in their bedroom. Wow that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen! I still don’t know if Layla was totally clueless or not. Something makes me think she won’t let Will go, she will use him to get to the top and he’ll keep using her as a beard. Finally Luke proposed to Rayna, who accepted, only to have Deacon show up at her house and give her her engagement ring back and told her that he wanted her back too. What will Rayna do ?!?!?! We know in the end she’ll end up with Deacon, but I do like me some Luke. “Nashville’s” season finale . . .
Comments Off on Various Thoughts On Season Finales/Almost-Finales
On ABC, I have all but given up on “Once Wonderland.” I just don’t get it. Sadly I’m only watching “Marvel’s Agents” here and there too. I am looking forward to the return of cable shows like “Dallas” and “Bates Motel!”
On “Once,” The Wicked Witch of the West makes her debut as the new big bad of the second half of the season.
On “Castle,” Beckett faces an enemy from her past . . .
On “Nashville,” Scarlett and Liam’s romance takes off, as does Juliette’s career. No word on whether Lamar really is dead . . .
On “Grey’s,” No clue as to April’s choice, but a new policy at the hospital makes dating your co-workers impossible! Christina and Meredith seem to be patching things up . . .
I love “Castle,” but so far this season with Richard and Kate’s separation it has kinda blown. In the latest episode Kate finally lost her job with the FBI, mainly because she couldn’t play by Washington’s rules and let things go when ordered to. I have to say, I was never so glad to see someone lose a job! Now we can get back to their normal abnormal working relationship.
All that is left now is to get rid of Alexis’ new hippie boyfriend. Who thought him up? He’s terrible! Go on now, run off to fight some cause and don’t come back!
I do hope we get to see the return of James Brolin as Castle’s dad at some point.
Comments Off on Castle: Thank God Becket Got Fired!
A few more spoilers for some upcoming ABC shows. I am going to try and jump into “Scandal.” I watched last week’s “Season 1 and 2 recap show,” but haven’t seen the season premier yet. I watched about five minutes of “Betrayal” and was bored by it. “Revenge” I haven’t even tried again either. I’m also doing my best to stay into “Agents of SHIELD” but it’s sadly losing me.
On “Once Upon A Time,” Tinkerbell arrives, and has a past with Regina of course.
On “Castle,” a hostage taker will only talk to Richard Castle.
On “Agents of SHIELD,” a mysterious woman with powers emerges.
On “Nashville,” Teddy plans to marry Peggy, who he thinks is pregnant.
On “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland,” Jafar and the Red Queen are at war! (Why is Jafar there?)
On “Grey’s,” Stephanie meets Jackson’s overbearing and overprotective mother. Run girl!
