Body of Proof Finale Thoughts . . . .

Body of Proof Finale Thoughts . . . .

So last night was likely the end of “Body of Proof.” ABC did not renew it, though some feel it may get a second life on a cable network. While the ratings weren’t stellar, my understanding was they were nevertheless good and it did win it’s time-slot often. Personally I feel the whole “retool” worked against the show in the end. While I warmed up to Tommy, I would still have rather had Peter and the other cops there. Also I don’t think they made enough use of Curtis and the others this season. It was too heavily focused on Tommy, Megan and Dylan from “90210.” The magic between the cast from the first two season was list, this season was too much of a reinvention and getting to know Tommy.

The one thing I’m glad the solved was the mystery of Megan’s father’s death. I’ve been waiting for that since season 1, and season 2 ignored it almost all together. I did feel though that they saw the writing on the wall and rushed that storyline out in the final episode. Having the Captain be the killer was just way too much like “Castle” for my taste. Also . . . where the hell is his body? They never answered that! And the serial killing psychopath saves Megan and just escapes? I guess all these questions, along with Kate’s run for office that went no where would have been answered in season 4.

I do hope the show finds a second life, because I will miss it in spite of this being my least favorite of the seasons. It’s still a good show that I don’t think was ever given a fair shake. They just stuck it in wherever there was a gap in the schedule.

ABC May Sweeps and Season Finale Spoilers!

ABC May Sweeps and Season Finale Spoilers!

Posted by Dustin on 04.25.2013 at 8:20 pm

Below are a ton of spoilers for ABC shows for May Sweeps (which begins tonight!) through the season finales. As with last year, “Once Upon A Time’s” finale is under tight wraps. There are huge hints in the two-hour two-part finale thought . . .

On “Once Upon A Time,” well the two-part finale is clearly Pan-centric. Most people are expecting it to come out that Bae is also Peter Pan.
On “Castle,” the season ends with Beckett questioning her relationship with Castle. No new turn of events with the Senator nor her mother’s case it seems . . .
On “Body of Proof,” it seems we won’t see the season finale of this till later, given its late mid-season start.
On “Nashville,” it seems the drama between Teddy and Rayna comes to a head and involves the girls. Will Deacon learn he’s a daddy?
On “Grey’s Anatomy,” a disaster closes out this season. You know it’s not a season finale of “Grey’s” with out some kind of disaster. This year it seems to be some kind of monsoon.

Body Of Proof: The Truth Is Out There . . .

Body Of Proof: The Truth Is Out There . . .

Posted by Dustin on 04.03.2013 at 7:35 pm

So with “Body of Proof” finally reviving the story of Megan’s father’s suicide, I’m loving it. I’ve even adapted to the new guy Tommy. Megan’s mom gave her a trunk of her father’s belongings, in it was a suicide note she found and hid for all these years. Megan had Tommy analyze it to see if it was really her father’s handwriting. She refuses to believe her dad committed suicide.

Tommy found out that while the handwriting was a match, analysts believe it was written under duress. He cautioned Megan that being suicidal also fits the profile of being under duress. Megan isn’t convinced though. It sounds like her father was probably forced to write the letter. I’m beginning to wonder how much Megan’s mom really knows about what happened and is covering it up? Was her father involved in illegal activities? Was he investigating them? Something is fishy, as Megan’s mom has never let her exhume and examine her father.

Otherwise, I’ve really enjoyed the murder story-lines going on as well. The love thing between Megan and Tommy? Eh . . . Word has it that ABC is probably going to renew only this show or “Nashville.” As much as I also love “Nashville,” I think I’d rather see Body of Proof come back. “Nashville” seems to just be stuck, and hasn’t been all that exciting as of late. Hopefully tonights show will bring the excitement.

Body of Proof: Hope For The Third Season?

Body of Proof: Hope For The Third Season?

Posted by Dustin on 03.07.2013 at 8:54 pm

So I am getting used to the new “Body of Proof,” though I still miss Peter, Bud and the others. Mark Valley’s character as the singular cop is fine, but he’s still no Peter as far as I’m concerned!

This week’s episode was all about an uber religious father who was convinced his daughters were possessed by the devil, but in reality the “good” yet “slighted” daughter was drugging them with PCP to make them think they were possessed and act like it.

However at one point one of the girls said something to Megan, a saying her father used to say to her as a child all the time. She thought it must be a coincidence, but how did she know? At the end, after the case was “solved” and they knew it was drugs and not the devil, the second “possessed” sister also said the phrase. And Megan gasped . . .

I am hopeful that what this means is that they are going to revive the mystery of her father’s death that was all but abandoned during the second season.

90210, Castle and Body of Proof, PLL, Smash and Dallas Quick Thoughts . . .

90210, Castle and Body of Proof, PLL, Smash and Dallas Quick Thoughts . . .

Man I sure am having some issues with the shows I tend to watch as of late. They aren’t holding my attention like they use to, and it makes me miss shows like “Desperate Housewives” and “Brothers and Sisters.” A bunch of shows are returning in March, so hopefully they will be a little more exciting.

90120
Shane’s sister and Silver’s surrogate continues to be sketchy. As it turns out she can sing and made sure Dixon heard her singing . . . Something tells me a big ole baby bump will get in the way of her singing career.

Liam had to testify against Ashley the cop and went bonkers, leading his other cop friend to suggest he may have PTSD. Zzzzzzz

Noami ended up tracking down her and Annie’s shared half brother, who is a chef, and they are opening a restaurant together. She’ll be the face end of it, he’ll do the cooking. I had actually completely forgot about their half-brother! It took me a while to remember the whole storyline actually.

Castle and Body of Proof
Both “Castle” and “Body of Proof” ended up doing storylines where the main characters daughters got abducted. Odd! On “Castle” they’ve finally been returning to the senator who is responsible for Becket’s mother’s death. I can only hope “BOP” will bring back the mystery of Megan’s father’s suicide as well. I will say I was not a fan of Peter’s death, the ousting of all the cops and bringing in Mark Valley as her new partner and love interest. What happened to the hunky gardner? Oh yeah he’s on a new TNT show . . .

Pretty Little Liars
This week’s episode and the strange “killing” and disappearance of Detective Wilkins by Hannah’s mom was definitely great. Where did his body go? Is he really dead, or is he on the A team?

Ezra returned and made it known to Aria he wants her in his life. Aria didn’t tell him about getting a little too close to his brother, and Ezra’s mother showed back up and Ezra finally stood up to her and put her in her place. Eh, wasn’t all that thrilled with this part of the show.

Spencer finally broke down at the very end and told Aria that she knew one person who was helping Mona out . . . It looks like she’s finally going to tell the others about Toby, unless there is a huge twist coming. Spencer’s sister Melissa was back too, and we learned once again that Melissa may have had a motive to kill Alison. The night she died Melissa was on a rampage to get a tape she had. The tape we’ve seen bits and pieces of over the year.

Smash
I’m not sure where “Smash” is going this season. I liked the first hour, since then it seems to be floundering. Money troubles have tied it up, suddenly they want the whole book re-written, Ivy is acting in a play and Karen is pulling Derrick into her new potential love interest’s emerging-still-being-written musical.

Julia is going head to head with the guy that was hired to help her rewrite “Bombshell’s” book. She hates him, he pushes her buttons, the countdown is on until they sleep together. Recycle plot #48! Meanwhile after Tom coached Ivy to a new job, she suggested he go into directing. I can now see him and Derrick sparing over who will direct Bombshell.

Dallas
Most of this week’s “Dallas” was about Anne’s day in court for shooting Ryland. He and his mother framed the hell out of her, and it wasn’t looking good. Their daughter Emma overheard Anne and Ryland arguing in the hospital, so she now has some kind of a clue as to what kind of man her dad is. My guess is she’s always known, she’s just been so brainwashed. Christopher pleaded with her to get on the stand and tell the truth for Anne, but she didn’t. When Anne was found guilty, she ran out of the court room. My guess is she’ll find evidence to help Anne out. There has to be cameras in that big ole mansion of theirs, Ryland definitely seems like a paranoid guy to me. If they can get a video of what he said to her, they may be able to prove it was a crime of passion and she reacted to what he told her. I mean hey it’s Texas, doesn’t everyone carry a gun in their purse down there?

John Ross is continuing to undermine Elena in order to get her to default on her loan to his mom so he can snag her shares. However JR continues to learn of John Ross’ betrayals with Cliff and Rebecca. Don’t mess with JR son! Sadly we are coming up on the episode where JR will be shot, and this time he won’t be coming back.

ABC February Sweeps Spoilers . . .

ABC February Sweeps Spoilers . . .

Posted by Dustin on 01.30.2013 at 7:14 pm

Below are the short and sweet spoilers for several ABC shows over the next month as we enter sweeps period. Things I’m looking forward to?

-I’m really looking forward to the return of “Body of Proof.” It won’t be the same without the police force we’ve come to love (I’ll miss you most Peter!), but I’m hoping we’ll get back to the long ignored mystery of Megan’s father’s death.

– On “Castle” I’m looking forward to some amazing guest stars, including Gina Torres from “Firefly” as well as the return of Jack Coleman as the man responsible for the murder of Beckett’s mom. Will we finally put that storyline to rest?

– On “Nashville,” things are finally gunna heat up between Rayna and Deacon it seems! Why do I feel that one of her kids is his?

– While “Practice” is over, “Grey’s Anatomy” continues. It seems the fight to save the hospital from shutting down is the major theme over the next month.

– I’m really looking forward to the return of “Once Upon A Time” and hopefully learning who Rumples son is. Hmmm, Emma and Gold in New York City? That’s where the season began with the shot of Henry’s dad, no?

– I pretty much have given up on “Revenge.” I really have tried to like it, but I just don’t find myself all that into. I haven’t watched it in weeks, and seemingly have no desire to catch up on it.

Read on and enjoy!

More Fall 2012 Casting Tidbits!

More Fall 2012 Casting Tidbits!

Posted by Dustin on 07.31.2012 at 7:03 pm

Casting news for several shows. This may be spoilerish!

“Body of Proof” has already lost three players, reported in an earlier post. Now comes news from Deadline that the show is looking to add Mark Valley in the role of a detective who will work with Meagan Hunt, and also be a possible love interest. Oh no, that means another write out . . . Aiden!

Sarah Jessica Parker will be working at Vogue on the new season of “Glee.” Kate Hudson, who is already filming, plays Rachel’s dance teacher at NYADA. Ryan Murphy has already Tweeted the first photo of them on set. “Glee” began filming this week.

Julian Morris, known to many as Melissa’s ex Ian on “Pretty Little Liars,” has been cast as Prince Phillip on “Once Upon A Time.” He will play Sleeping Beauty’s (Sarah Bolger) version of Charming. Also Sinqua Walls of “Teen Wolf” joins as Sir Lancelot according to TVline.

Eric Dane (McSteamy) is set to leave “Grey’s Anatomy” in the upcoming season. He’ll appear in a few episodes to wrap up his story. How he will leave when he has a baby with Callie is not known. However others are also leaving, and more to come. Kim Raver who plays Teddy really did leave the show, her last episode was when Owen forced her out in the season finale. Shonda Rhimes told the Hollywood Reporter that others could also leave in the next season. Some suspect Arizona may also die as a result of the crash. Oh, when season 9 picks up, we will have jumped forward in time!

Over to “American Horror Story,” the largest cast ever keeps expanding. Franke Potente joins for two episodes as a patient of the asylum. In America she’s probably best known from the “Borne” films, but internationally she’s “Run Lola Run!” Also EW is reporting that Jenna Dewan is joining the show as Adam Levine’s character’s wife.

Body Of Proof Loses Two Lead Male Actors!

Body Of Proof Loses Two Lead Male Actors!

Posted by Dustin on 06.07.2012 at 7:46 pm

Um, seriously, what is going on over at ABC with them cutting actors from their shows left and right? According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC decided not to pick up contracts for John Carroll Lynch (Detective Bud Morris) and shockingly, Nicholas Bishop . . . who plays Delany/Megan’s partner Peter Bishop!

I’m shocked! After the season finally I thought we were headed into some kind of Megan, Peter, Kate love triangle.

ABC renewed the show, but it’s a shortened 13 episode season, much like “Private Practice” will be. My guess is this will be the final season for both shows.
