So I have not been all that amused with “Big Brother” this season. I have been watching the live shows, reading what is going on via various sites and apps, but I have yet to get sucked in by the feeds and “After Dark.” With that demon spawn Devin gone I was hoping I’d start getting back into the show, but aside from Donny I feel the cast is so boring! There seems to be a new alliance formed daily and nobody can keep their mouth shut. Caleb is also on everyone’s nerves because of his love for Amber. I think he is likely the next male to go. The entire house is also against Jocasta, Victoria and Brittany for reasons I haven’t figured out. Well Jocasta I get, she’s just annoying! If she ever gets rid of that damn bow tie I will praise Jesus! If this show comes back next summer I really hope it’s another All-Stars show.
So here we are again, part two of the two night premiere. Tonight we will meet the next eight houseguests, who will compete for the second HOH. We also learn the second part of the HOH twist and who the first member of “Team America” is.
Victoria is a photographer and an Orhtadox Jew who is out to seduce the men with her looks. Caleb is an ex-military, metrosexual cowboy, who apparently is the first house member with a scandal in the real world based on political tweets and Facebook posts. Brittany is a mom and just coming out of a ten year marriage. Derrick is a cop, who has worked as a NARC for years. Christine is a barista and very comfortable with being nude. Zack is a recent college grad who hangs out and plays golf all day. He has no problem telling anyone what is wrong with them. Jocasta is a motivational speaker and a minister. She has done a lot of things, men and women, Luv is Luv! Hayden is a surfer and a cab driver. He is a straight A student and thinks his looks will fool everyone.
Julie told the second batch of 8 that there were already 8 inside and a HOH has been crowned. She explained that one of them would also be HOH, they would have two HOH’s each week, and only one HOH will be left standing by the end of the week. Julie then sent in Jocasta, Caleb, Christine and Caleb in first. She then sent the final four in. They chose their beds and it was hugs and kisses all around. Of course many of the Crazy 8’s started feeling the vibe of the newbies and realizing they had to make connections outside their original alliance. Nicole worried the original alliance was about to crumble.
Everyone finally sat down at the table and introduced themselves to each other. Derrick lied about his job as a cop, he said he was a park and recreation officer. Some were wary of Jocasta being a minister, and others of Caleb for being super-conservative.
Victoria and Frankie have become the best of friends immediately. Frankie knew he had to have someone among the new 8 to be on his side, and he felt it was Victoria. Meanwhile Paola talks with Caleb about who he is and what he’s about. She likes his shredded body. She realizes though that he is a big threat to her game and her having the biggest ego in the house. Donny meanwhile used humor to gain friends and make himself seem less of a threat. Derrick and Brittany bonded over the fact that they were missing their kids. Later Zack made a really bad impression on Frankie by criticizing pretty much everything about him.
The second HOH game was played. This game was a pig-roast theme and they had to hold onto a large BBQ spit they straddled as things were thrown at them and it rotated. They had BBQ sauce thrown at them. In the end, Zack threw it, and Derrick did as well. It came down to Hayden and Caleb, and Caleb became the second HOH.
Everyone went inside as Julie gathered them to explain the new twist. Caleb and Frankie sat in the Co-HOH chairs. Julie explained the new twist to them and us. Every week two HOHs will be crowned, each HOH will nominate two houseguests, so four will be in the hot seat. Julie then explained there would be a new comp called “Battle of the Block” where the four nominees would battle as teams of two, and the winning duo would save themselves and dethrone the HOH who nominated them. Julie says this means you can go from HOH to being evicted in the same week.
Julie told us that the first houseguest who is a member of “Team America” is Joey! Joey got her orders and info, and every mission they accomplish will result in $5000 for each of them. Joey accepted, and we the viewers can vote on CBS.com for the next two alliance members.
Take the new poll on the front page! Who left the best impression on you and are you currently rooting for?
The feeds start tonight, I will update as much as I can with who is up and what is going on! If you don’t have the feeds, you can tune in every night at midnight to “After Dark” on TVGN.
So “Big Brother 16” is finally here! After several years, it’s also finally in HD! After Dark doesn’t begin until midnight on Thursday on TVGN. The feeds probably won’t begin until the same time, or at least not until 10pm EST on Thursday.
So the show opened with the Chenbot welcoming us as usual. She informed us about a new twist that would send the houseguests scrambling, and a new interactive twist that would have us involved like never before.
We met the first 8 house guests. Paola, a DJ who plans to hit on all the hot guys, even the ugly ones. Donny is a groundskeeper for a school system. He says he will be smarter than they think he is, but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. Cody is a professional soccer player and up for meeting cute girls in the house. Frankie is a broadway performer and dance teacher, and also is Ariana Grande’s brother. He doesn’t plan to tell anyone about his sister because it will put a target on his head. He is also the self-proclaimed queen of YouTube. Amber is a model and athlete or something from Tennessee. Nicole is a small-town girl and super “Big Brother” fan. She’s afraid of ghosts, and pees her pants when she gets scared or too excited. Devin is a former professional baseball player, but is now a full time single dad. He thinks his athletic ability will help him win the physical challenges. He is told he looks like the Rock, but he thinks he looks better than him. Finally Joey is a very liberal make-up artist and is looking for some hot liberal men. Joey is female BTW, and seems to be Lydia 2.0.
Julie told the first 8 that they would experience the most twisted summer ever. She said they probably wondered why there were only 8 of them right now, and that would be revealed in time. Julie then sent the first four in: Cody, Amber, Donny and Joey. They claimed their beds and looked around while Devin, Nicole, Paola and Frankie were sent in. They soon began to wonder where the other 8 were as there were 16 plates at the table and too many beds.
As they introduced one another, Frankie realized Paola, the NYC DJ, would possibly figure out who he was. Everyone seemed enamored with Duck Dynasty Donny. All the girls, and Frankie, are in love with Cody already. Joey thought she and Frankie were soul mates because of their colored hair and that they are both peacocks. Devin is attracted to Joey, he says she is a 10. Donny meanwhile likes Nicole and thinks he can work with her, if he can remember her name.
After the first break, the first 8 tried to make an early alliance before the next came in. Some already thought it was too early to be making an alliance, but they made one and called themselves “The Crazy 8s.” Then all the men took their shirts off and modeled for the girls by doing ab crunches. Well Donny did not . . . he doesn’t do crunches or sit-ups . . . NO he does not!
Devin immediately makes a side alliance with Donny. He thinks nobody would expect it, and he thinks there is wisdom behind that beard of his. They call themselves “Double Ds.”
Paolo meanwhile didn’t want any of the guys forming another “Brigade” and she wanted this season to be about girl power. She tried to start a girl alliance with the first four girls. They decide to call themselves “El Quatro” for the final four. Poor Nicole wonders what “El Quatro” means.
The first eight were gathered in the living room and Julie told them to enjoy their time, as the house was about to get very crowded. She said the good news is one of them would be the first HOH of the season. She told them what the HOH means, except for one thing . . . even the HOH isn’t safe! That is the first big twist of the summer. They were floored.
After another break, Paola flirted like crazy with Cody. Cody told her that he likes a girl with a good body, who takes care of her body, who likes to work out . . . oh and who has a good personality!
Julie gathered the first 8 in their swimsuits to head to the backyard for the first HOH competition. It was a beach inspired competition. They had to balance on a rotating beam while holding onto a rope, which was their kite string. The last one standing was the first HOH. Of course it’s “Big Brother,” and they threw various obstacles at them, such as raining suntan lotion. It came down to Frankie and Amber, and Amber threw it because she was too afraid to be the first HOH.
Frankie asked the first 8 to have his back, because they all knew another twist was coming. After the break, Julie dropped that bomb on them. Frankie took an orange chair in the living room, which another guest said those chairs aren’t good. They are the normal nom chairs. Julie told them all that he will be nominating two houseguests, however 8 more guests are coming in and another person will become HOH. Julie revealed there will be two HOHs, but by the end of the week only one HOH will be left. Everyone tried to figure out what that meant. Was there a second house? Would they be competing and living in here? Were there 8 all-stars coming in?
As they were left with questions, Julie revealed the second twist to us called Team America. Before the show began, the viewers got to vote on CBS.com for who they wanted in their own secret alliance. The winner has already been chosen, and he or she will be the first of a three-part secret alliance. Over the next two weeks we will vote for the next two members, and the three will be sent on secret quests we choose. We will find out who the first person is . . . TOMORROW!
Tomorrow after the second part of the premiere I’ll have a poll on the front page for you to vote for which houseguest made the best first impression on you and who you are rooting for after the two-night premier! Until then, you can vote in the first poll, who of the first 8 do you want to be the first to go?

“BIG BROTHER” TO DEBUT ITS MOST “TWISTED” SEASON EVER! Host Julie Chen Announces the New Twists Today on “The Talk”
Further Details Will Be Revealed During the Two-Night Premiere Event June 25 and June 26 on CBS
Houseguests Will Live in an Urban Tree House-Themed Dwelling
It was announced today by Host Julie Chen on “The Talk” that BIG BROTHER will debut its most “twisted” season ever during its special two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Thursday, June 26 (9:01-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. As previously announced, this season of BIG BROTHER will air in HD for the first time.
During the premiere, Host Julie Chen will announce details of two new twists and the new competition for the season.
In the first twist, two Houseguests will win the coveted role of “Head of Household” (HOH) each week, which still comes with special privileges, including a separate suite inside the house. Each HOH will have the responsibility of nominating two fellow Houseguests for eviction every week; however, for the first time on the series, earning HOH will not guarantee one’s safety in the game for the week.
With the second twist, fans will have a unique opportunity to significantly influence the game from home with a new interactive element called “Team America.”
In addition, this season of BIG BROTHER will introduce an entirely new high-stakes competition, “Battle of the Block,” which will dramatically shift the power in the house each week.
“When the Houseguests learn about the new twists, they will need to throw out any pre-existing strategy if they want to survive in the game,” said Allison Grodner, Executive Producer of BIG BROTHER. “The new Battle of the Block competition will shake up the power in the house like never before. A Houseguest can go from zero to hero, or vice versa, every week!”
This season, the BIG BROTHER Houseguests will live in a whimsical urban tree house-themed dwelling. The living room features a 20-foot-high wood tree sculpture, and wood panels that give the illusion of peering out into the world from inside the tree. The theme continues with the dining room’s branch-bound chairs and the kitchen’s butcher block island made from thick slabs of eucalyptus trees. Nestled above the living room is an actual tree house shack where the Houseguests can play chess. The Head of Household suite includes a giant bird’s nest for the bed and a wall lined with nearly 1,000 bird houses. Also, the bedrooms’ décor is based on the classical elements earth, wind and fire with the bathroom’s theme being water.
Following the two-night premiere, BIG BROTHER will air Sundays, beginning June 29 (8:01-9:00 PM ET/PT), Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), and the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen on Thursdays, beginning July 3 (9:01-10:00 PM live ET / delayed PT).
Comments Off on Big Brother 16 Twists . . . Cast Announcement Pending!
Yes my friends, it is almost here. I’ve already subscribed to the feeds, taking advantage of the even cheaper offer in the weeks before the show starts. This year the show is FINALLY in HD. It took them how many years? Sadly “After Dark” is once again on TV Guide, which means no nudity or cursing. What’s the point? I mean I get TV Guide reaches more people than Showtime, but pahlease! It’s called “After Dark” for a reason!
The show premiers on June 25th. It’s expected as usual that the cast and house will be revealed sometime this week on “The Talk.” The huge rumor this year is that we are looking at an “All Stars” summer. Given the horribly boring newbie casts the past few years, I wouldn’t put it past CBS to pull this in order to keep people actually interested in the game.
