The Fosters: Callie’s Choice.

So I’m still loving “The Fosters,” but I’m also really getting annoyed with parts of it. Here are some quick thoughts before tonight’s episode . . .

The idea of Brandon and his friends going on tour for the summer is insane to me. How old are these kids? I can’t recall if Brandon is a senior in high school or not, but I know I did not turn 18 until I was in college. What parent would give these kids their okay to tour at that age on their own? It seems obvious that Brandon will end up going to the music camp for the summer instead of doing the tour, unless he lies to his moms and only says he’s going to the camp.

Jesus going away to the private school he was offered a scholarship is a-okay with me. He is the one kid on the show I really don’t care for at all.

I’m glad they went there with Jude and his friend Connor. It’s about time, as they’ve dragged this one out for way too long now. The question remains as to if Jude really is gay, or is he just desperate to hold onto his friend who is actually gay.

While I get Callie wants to help out Daphne, she shouldn’t do so at the expense of her own happiness. Daphne screwed up and now Callie is paying for it. Daphne is too in a way, the scene with her daughter and the daughter’s foster mom was heartbreaking. I felt for Daphne, but not enough for Callie to do what she’s doing for her.

Spoilers for the next few shows below.

The Night Shift Season 2 Begins Tonight.

So “The Night Shift” returns tonight on NBC. I watched and really loved this show last year when it was on for a few short weeks. Here is hoping this season will be a bit longer. I also hope they have a good recap at the beginning of the show to remind me what happened so very long ago.

Spoilers for the first two episodes below!

Jennifer Esposito Is The New Mistress.

Jennifer Esposito Is The New Mistress.

So the new “Mistress” on the show is Jennifer Esposito, who will replace Alyssa Milano who chose not to stay with the show. ABC moved the filming of the show to Vancouver, and Alyssa chose not to uproot her family.

Espositio will not play Savy, but a new character named Calista Raines who works as the creative director of a luxury fashion brand. On the surface she is a high-style fashionista who lives the high life, but underneath she’s lonely and harbors a dark devious nature. Calista befriends Joss and will pull her into her dark world.

Thoughts On Grey’s Return.

Thoughts On Grey’s Return.

So I feel it’s been a little weird with Derek off-screen since the show returned. At least he and Meredith made-up and are trying to make it work. I couldn’t take them splitting up yet again.

I love Meredith and Maggie getting along. Alex is failing as Meredith’s person, so I think she’s grooming Maggie to be her new person.

I feel like the show is leading to something developing between Christina Callie and Owen. I don’t know how I’d feel about that if it actually happened.

I love seeing Amelia get a chance to shine with Derek gone, and with dealing with Dr. Herman. I’d love if they could get Dr. Herman to become a permanent addition to the show. However something tells mer Amelia won’t be able to save her, or if she does that she’ll lose the ability to perform surgery.

April and Jackson’s baby storyline is breaking my heart. I hope Shonda doesn’t use this as a way to break these two up again.

Spoilers for the next two episodes below!

“All I Could Do Was Cry” – After several discussions with Dr. Herman, April and Jackson must face their situation head on and make a difficult decision regarding their unborn child. Catherine arrives in Seattle and bumps into Richard at the hospital. Meanwhile, Meredith tries to find someone to take care of the kids so she can visit Derek for the weekend, and Amelia shows Stephanie some tough love when they work together on a case, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“The Great Pretender” – Maggie gets upset when Meredith dodges her questions about DC; Bailey and Ben become concerned about Ben’s brother after he is admitted to the hospital, and Dr. Herman starts to warm up to Arizona. Meanwhile, Richard feels manipulated by Catherine, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Grimm: What’s Going On With Juliette And Captain Sexy?

Grimm: What’s Going On With Juliette And Captain Sexy?

Posted by Dustin on 02.08.2015 at 4:37 pm

So “Grimm” has been on fire lately. However as usual I tend to pick apart the unanswered questions. For example, why was it so difficult for Adalind to get her Hexenbeast powers back, yet so easy for Julia to become one? I wonder if Renard’s mother knew that this would happen to Julia? She doesn’t seem to be an ordinary Hexenbeast either, but one with some kind of insane powers.

With Adalind back in town will they finally explore the weird connection she and Nick had earlier in the season that was causing them to see through the other’s eyes? Also Renard was bleeding out from his gunshot wounds in one episode, but in the next was fine. Huh?

I’m loving that Wu is now on team Grimm though. Both Wu and Hank could do with some love interests though.

Spoilers for the next episode below!

TRIAL BY FIRE – February 13
A FIERY WESEN RISES IN PORTLAND – DANIEL ROEBUCK, GIDEON EMERY, GARCELLE BEAUVAIS AND ALEXIS DENISOF GUEST STAR – When an arson case looks to have Wesen origins, Nick (David Giuntoli) find himself reluctantly having to ask an old foe for help. Elsewhere, Viktor (guest star Alexis Denisof) teaches Adalind (Claire Coffee) the effectiveness of well-played diplomacy. Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) finds herself in a confrontation sooner than expected. Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee and Bree Turner also star.

Parenthood Finale Thoughts

Parenthood Finale Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 02.03.2015 at 4:56 pm

So all in all, I really liked the “Parenthood” finale. Some of it we knew was coming, other things I was surprised by. Let’s break it all down.

Sarah’s wedding to Hank was great. I was sort of secretly hoping she’d reunite with the English teacher guy, and Hank often got on my nerves, but in the end I think he was the right guy for Sarah. I loved that he asked Zeek for permission. The wedding was really beautiful, and Max catching a girl’s eye seemed to be a clue that Kristina has been desperately searching for, that he’ll be okay and find love one day too.

Zeek’s death was not a shock, especially since he didn’t want to go through the surgery his doctor told him was needed. When he and Camille asked Amber and the baby to move in with them I had a sliver of hope that we wouldn’t see his death, that we’d be left with knowing it would eventually happen. However the show did kill him off near the very end, which led to a touching funeral and then the flash forwards that revealed what happened to everyone.

Joel and Julia not only adopted Victor’s biological half-sister, but clearly had another baby of their own. I honestly expected that after they adopted Victor, but instead we got tortured with their break-up. I’m glad they made up, I just wish we had another episode squeezed in to watch Joel grovel a little more.

Crosby went on to successfully bring back the Luncheonette, while Adam took over as principle at Chambers so Christina could focus on building and implementing more schools like it around the country. Max graduated, and Crosby and Jasmine ended up pregnant with another child. Fortunately we didn’t have to be tortured with an appearance from Jasmine’s horrible mother!

Amber had another child with a new husband, another dude/actor from “Friday Night Lights,” which was a cute joke. She also made nice with her ex, who clearly got himself together and is sharing parental responsibilities with her. I really wanted them to end up together as well. Oh well, at least she’s happy.

Hank and Sarah’s marriage clearly is going well. Ruby seems to have adjusted and is fitting into the family as well. We saw that Drew was happy, but didn’t find out anymore about him. In my mind he finally came out of the closet and is happy 🙂

Oh and Camille finally went on her whirlwind vacation on Europe and to Paris as Zeek had originally planned for them.

Even though the show made me want to rip my hair out at times, I’m going to miss it and I’m at least glad it got the chance to have a proper ending in this age of immediate cancelations and the pulling of shows.
