Nashville Thoughts: Baby Daddy Drama
Posted by Dustin on 10.29.2014 at 5:23 pm
So it’s been awhile since I blogged about “Nashville,” so I thought I would before tonight’s episode. Of note, there are no spoiler released for shows after tonight’s episode. So either it will be taking a break for a few weeks, or they want to keep something under wraps.
I really hate what Avery has become. I get he’s heartbroken over Juliette, but he’s really turned back into the nasty piece of work he was when the show started. When he lashed out at Scarlett for being so needy and causing Juliette to cheat, any pity I had left for him went out the window.
Juliette seems to be getting wooed by her co-star in the Patsy Cline movie, and I can’t help but wonder what his angle is. He’s got to be after her for some reason other than just being a nice guy. Likely he wants to use her for her fame and fortune.
Will’s secret is getting to be ridiculous. Deacon has been added to the list of people who know the truth about him. Just come out or someone else out him at this point already. I could definitely see this becoming an issue for Rayna and Luke though. I would bet that Luke would kick him off the tour, and Jeff will kick him out of Edgehill. I bet Rayna would think they are both wrong and sign Will to Highway 65.
Speaking of Jeff and Edgehill, his going after Rayna’s girl is downright dirty and nasty! Why would her ex even consider doing this to her? Boo! Just when I thought Teddy has begun turning over a new leaf.
Once Upon A Time: Foster Parents.
Posted by Dustin on 10.27.2014 at 8:11 pm
So I really liked the latest episode of “Once Upon A Time.” The week proir, not so much. The whole twist on Mickey Mouse and Fantasia seemed a little silly to me. What does the hat that Rumple worked so hard to get do though? We still don’t know. The latest episode finally saw Regina and Emma mend fences, kinda. I was really annoyed that Regina tried to compare what Emma did to what she had done to others. There was a huge difference! Emma didn’t mean to hurt people, Regina set out to do so.
The Snow Queen worked to get her hands on Regina’s portable magic mirror, which held Sydney. She freed Syndey and then used Regina’s mirror to mend one of her own. Two magic mirrors? We don’t know what her exact plan is, but her endgame is to get the family she’s always wanted it seems. I’m going to guess she may have been the one to dispose of Anna in order to get to Elsa. We also learned that Emma was once a foster child in a home The Snow Queen ran, though Emma doesn’t remember it at all. Very interesting! Oh yeah, what was with those inside flashbacks to Emma’s childhood friend? She has to come back in to the show at some point, she has to be important other than just a lesson for Emma to learn from.
Finally, the Knave escaped jail and Mary Margaret, thinking this was all something David cooked up to give her back her mojo, pardoned him when she caught him. It turns out she just let a criminal go free. We still don’t know his plan in Storybrooke either.
Spoilers for a two hour special in November below. Only the names of the next two episodes are known until this big episode.

Grimm Is Back! Restore Nick’s Powers Please!
Posted by Dustin on 10.25.2014 at 12:39 pm
So “Grimm” returned last night, but so far there is no joyous news. Renard is barely hanging on, but a mysterious blond visitor has come to see him. They made it seem like it was Adeline, until we saw her face and knew it wasn’t her. In the previews she revealed to Nick and others that she was a Hexen beast like Adeline and could be the only one to help them. Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that this is Renard’s mother we’ve never met?
Nick still doesn’t have his powers, and I hope they solve this sooner rather than later. If it takes half the season to get his powers back then I will be grinding my teeth. I really didn’t like that in the previews Juliette suggested to Rosalie that they not cure Nick. Boo! This is just going to cause more trouble for her and Nick.
I do like that Truble is still around, and would like to see them keep her on in some way. Perhaps if not permanently than as a reoccurring guest star. I could see NBC trying to give her a spin-off, which I think would be a mistake.
Finally I love that Reggie is starting to get more and more suspicious of Nick and Hank and what they are hiding from him. I do feel bad for him and hope they tell him soon.

“Grimm” returns tonight on NBC. I’m so excited! I hope Nick gets his powers back quickly, and of course that Captain Sexy doesn’t end up dying on us. The show is followed by “Constantine” which I plan to give a try. Below are spoilers for the first two episodes of “Grimm!”

Grey’s Anatomy: I Love Sisters!
Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2014 at 12:58 pm
So the latest “Grey’s” had some movement forward with Meredith and her estrange sister Maggie slowly mending fences. Sadly the same can’t be said for Meredith and Derek, whose relationship seems to be falling apart. Oh brother, it’s like Shonda Rhimes refuses to let them be happy. Stop that Shonda! Perhaps Maggie can bring them back together, as Derek was the one who initially accepted Maggie with a huge hug when he learned the news.
The flashbacks with Richard and Ellis were insane, and I felt so bad for both little Meredith and grown Meredith. Not only did she always feel like a disappointment to her mother, now she knows the daughter her mother really wanted was always out there. She kept looking back on statements her ill mom made about her daughter and started second guessing which one she was speaking of.
Even though I was on team Bailey for the board seat, I did feel a tiny bit sorry for Alex this week. Not one person voted for him for the seat, not one! Ouch. Then again, he has brought this on himself for the most part. He’s lucky they hired him back at all, which seems to be because Arizona needs him around so she can work with Geena Davis on her project.
I loved the scene between Richard and Bailey when he confided he was Maggie’s father and she replied “I thought you were going to say you had sex with that girl!” Love me some Bailey!
Spoilers for the next two episodes are below, and I was not happy to see the previews showing Arizona and Callie potentially breaking up again. Really !?!?! Stop that Shonda!

Once Upon A Time: Jumping To Conclusions Again!
Posted by Dustin on 10.16.2014 at 3:25 pm
So we got some answers to Elizabeth Mitchell’s character on the most recent “Once Upon A Time.” It turns out she is Elsa’s aunt, or so she says, and that her own sister imprisoned her in an urn as she was afraid of her powers. It seems these powers run in Elsa’s family, but not everyone is blessed with them. In the past, according to the Snow Queen, apparently Anna turned on Elsa at some point and put her into the urn as well. I suspect this is a lie and the Queen did it herself for some reason. I even wonder if she’s really Elsa’s aunt?
In Storybrooke the Snow Queen froze Marianne’s heart, and Regina had to remove it to keep it and Marianne alive, though Marianne is technically in a frozen induced comatose state and now heartless. Robin finally admitted to Regina that he loves her, not Marianne, but still feels obligated to stay with his wife. Is it bad that I don’t care if Marianne dies? I really wish she never came back. Damn that Emma!
Will Scarlet AKA The Knave from the failed “Once in Wonderland” made his way to Storybrooke. I don’t know why but something tells me he and Marianne may have once had a thing. That would give Robin an easy out from his marriage if she really loved someone else too. It could also be the true loves kiss she needs to save her from the freezing curse.
Regina and Henry teamed up for “Operation Mongoose” to find out who wrote the storybook and ask them to give Regina a happy ending. I’m glad she’s not going to be ultra secretive about this and do something that could turn the town against her.
Speaking of the town being against someone, Grumpy and Grannie led the rally to hang Elsa after they suspected she froze Marianne. I hope really soon something bad happens and everyone suspects one of them and is ready to string them up. All they do lately is bitch and moan it seems. Where is the big bad wolf when you need one!

Red Band Society Thoughts + Spoilers/News!
Posted by Dustin on 10.15.2014 at 5:25 pm
So one of the new shows I’m watching is Fox’s “Red Band Society.” I actually really like the show, but at the same time I know I’m setting myself up for a big depressing episode. Eventually one of these kids will die, and it’s going to suck.
I’m actually not caught up, I’m trying to watch last week’s episode before tonight’s airs. I absolutely adore Octavia Spencer as Nurse Jackson, and really like Wilson Cruz as Nurse Kenji. I really wish we’d get more of Dave Annabelle as Dr. McAndrew. He’s one of the reasons I tuned in, as I have liked other shows he’s been on (“Brothers and Sisters” and “Park Avenue 666”).
I do find the love triangle between Emma, Leo and Jordi to be a tad strange. Leo seems a tad obsessed and has been placed into the friend zone by Emma. I also hate to say it, but I wouldn’t be too heartbroken if Kara ends up being the kid who dies. However because she’s the spoiled, rotten nasty bitch of the show, that’s highly unlikely. She’ll stick around for awhile.
TVLine/Deadline has reported that Jes Macallan (Joss, “Mistresses”) is joining the show in a recurring role. She’ll play the sister of an incoming patient Hunter (Daren Kagasoff). Just as long as she gets her but back to “Mistresses!” The loss of Savi is bad enough, we can’t lose Jess! Mandy Moore is also set to join “Red Band” as a new nurse.
The next two episode spoilers are below. Note, there is a gap because Major League Baseball interrupts next week’s show.

Parenthood Thoughts + Spoilers!
Posted by Dustin on 10.13.2014 at 4:01 pm
So “Parenthood” continues its march toward the series finale. Joel and Julia are the two I’m most focused on, and I don’t know which way I want things to end. I do want them to hopefully find their way back together, but I really am enjoying watching Julia make him squirm. I was cheering when she told him that he’s the one that broke their marriage and walked away, and that now it was too late as she moved on. Yay Julia!
Hank’s ex-wife Sandy may be more mental than he is! She’s demanding Sarah not be around when Hank has his daughter Ruby there. While this would be reasonable if Sarah was someone he just started dating, she’s much more than a new girlfriend. I think Sandy is going to be a huge problem, and I’m starting to understand why Ruby is acting out.
Zeek made it through his operation, which I’m glad about. I was worried they were going to off him. They technically still could, but I really hope they don’t. I just feel they will and have Adam transition to the man of the family by time the show ends.
Amber told Ryan about the baby, and he’s ready to be there and support Amber. Oh boy, I don’t think that is really what she wants. I hope we don’t have to see Ryan’s abusive Mommy Dearest again anytime soon to be honest. What is it with the crazy mom’s this season? If we do see her, I hope Amber tells her off.
Spoilers for the next two episodes below!

Gotham Thoughts + Spoilers! Sleepy Hollow Spoilers Too!
Posted by Dustin on 10.13.2014 at 3:46 pm
So “Gotham” has been given a full season on Fox, per news released today. I’m watching the show, but am not so sure about it. I’m enjoying it much more than ABC’s “Agents of Shield,” which I gave up on last year as I found it boring. So far though “The Flash” on CW is my favorite new superhero show. Gotham feels more like a crime drama than Batman, then again it is supposedly a prequel and more about Jim Gordon. It’s interesting to see how they are building up the villains, and I love Fish’s Catwoman like properties, even though she’s not Catwoman. The Penguin is just creepy, and we really haven’t even met the Joker yet. The Riddler, oddly, is working as a CSI guy for Gotham PD. Are you watching? What are your thoughts?
Spoilers for the next two “Gotham” shows below, along with some “Sleepy Hollow” spoilers!
