The Fosters Summer Finale Thoughts . . .

The Fosters Summer Finale Thoughts . . .

First, I’m pleased as punch this show is coming back in January. Take that “One Million Moms” who tried to get it taken off the air! So now for my thoughts . . .

I loved that Callie stood up for what was right and told the truth at the hearing against Liam, even if she lost. Hopefully now that family will never get to be fosters again, and the look of guilt was written all over Liam’s face as Callie spoke during the hearing. Karma is a bitch, and it’s clear he’s a pedophile and it will only be a matter of time before something worse happens involving him.

I don’t like that Brandon and Callie kissed, but I think Jude was really harsh on his sister. The way he spoke to her made it sound like she caused the problems at the other home with Liam, and that was not cool. Now she’s planning to run away to give Liam a chance at being adopted by Lena and Steph. Obviously we have the set-up for next season, the search for Callie.

I do like that Mike stepped up when Steph confronted him over the shooting and mistake he made in his account of it, though obviously pointing out it was the adrenaline of the situation which had him hyped and he didn’t do it on purpose . . . he clearly didn’t remember everything from that night himself. Rather than let both him and Steph lose their jobs, he told her to keep her mouth shut and say she didn’t see anything and let the chips fall where they fall with him and the review . . . one of them needs to take care of the family.

I hope we’ve now seen the last of Anna, but who knows!

It looks like we may have seen the last of Lexi though, with her parents planning a visit to Mexico and not planning to return given their illegal status in the country. Honestly, good. Both Jesus and Lexi need a serious smack upside the head for being as careless as they were.

Drop Dead Devious Maids Sunday: Keeping Secrets and Jane’s SOL!

Drop Dead Devious Maids Sunday: Keeping Secrets and Jane’s SOL!

So on “Drop Dead Diva” Jane is now without any man it seems. WTF !?!?!? Stacey asked Owen to be her donor, but he said no. Jane was upset, as Stacey didn’t even think that if she and Owen got back together it would be awkward. Jane however thought about it and talked to Owen. She felt he said no because there could be a chance for them, but if there is no chance then he should say yes to Stacey as she knows it’s something Owen would otherwise probably do. Meanwhile Kim gave Grayson some advice about mixing relationships and work . . . if this thing with Nicole is just a fling then end it before it ends badly. Grayson did end the “fling” aspect and asked her out on a real date. Finally Stacey returned to Jane by the end of the show with the news that Owen changed his mind and said yes! Poor Jane, now she’s lost BOTH guys!

Over on “Devious Maids,” Rosie learned who Marisol really was, she’s Marisol Suarez, a Professor of English, author and award winner all around. Rosie was furious with her and wanted to expose her, but by the end of the show came to understand why she was doing what she was doing as she to would do anything for her son. Rosie promised to keep her secret and asked how she could help? Rosie then went to the crazy Powels to apply to be their new part-time maid!

I totally loved the nod to “Ugly Betty” with her last name. But again, after this season’s mystery, what will happen? Marisol clearly is not going to stay a maid. I’m assuming she will end up employing one of them though. I’m guessing it will be Rosie, and she’ll help her get her son over to America.

Falling Skies Summer Finale Thoughts

Falling Skies Summer Finale Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 08.05.2013 at 7:53 pm

So “Falling Skies” is over until the 4th season airs next summer. We ended up much where we began, with the 2nd Mass back on the road . . .

The human’s, with the aid of the Volm weapon, managed to take down the Eshveti tower in Boston and deal a major blow to them. Then in came the mother Volm ship, with Cochise’s father onboard as their supreme leader. He basically felt the humans were not needed now that they were here, and wanted to relocate them to Brazil. When Tom said no, he was taken down by Volm guards and told this wasn’t a discussion, they would be relocated.

Tom, Weaver, Pope and the others weren’t going to be shipped off to some prison camp, and Pope gloated and loved saying “told you so” about the Volm. They all snuck out of Boston and found themselves refugees once more.

Tom and the others met with Karen and some Eshveti on the road. She told him the Volm weren’t who they claimed to be, and more nasty truths would come out soon, and they may want to strike a deal. She had something for him, and he had something for her. He shot her, and as she lay dying and tried to apologize to Hal, Maggie shot her two more times to finish her off.

Tom soon discovered Anne and Lexie in the nearby woods, but Lexie was now a toddler. Would she keep aging at this rate? Nobody had the answer. She definitely has powers though. She was able to call out the bugs in Lordes, they poured out of her eyes into Lexie’s hands and then Lexie turned them to dust and smiled.

… So Lexie is totally creepy, and we still have no answers how and why she ended up this way. I am guessing it was the Eshveti, why else would they want her? They must have altered Tom’s DNA when they had him.

Karen’s warning about the Volm were intriguing. What if the story Cochise was actually backwards? What if the Volm chased the Eshveti away, destroyed their home planet, etc . . .

I feel like Karen was going to say something important when Maggie put a bullet in her. Hmmmm . . .

Big Brother 15: Evicted The 1st of August and the New HOH!

Big Brother 15: Evicted The 1st of August and the New HOH!

Posted by Dustin on 08.01.2013 at 10:03 pm

So I seem to have a major problem remembering that “Big Brother” airs at 8pm on Wednesday, not 9pm . . . thus I missed last night’s episode. However I got filled in pretty quickly with the internet updates, and all the shifts in alliances.

Howard, Candice and Amanda are all on the block. Howard was suspected of being the MVP who put up Amanda, when it was really America. Spencer, winning POV, took himself down and Aaryn put up Candice up in his place. She went up when Helen told everyone that she was coming for them all if they didn’t make sure she was safe this week. Helen is still in control of the house it seems.

Howard tried to keep himself safe by making deals with the other houseguests, while Candice threw a pitty party. Spencer meanwhile told Amanda he has her back and he hopes she has his, she knows who he wants out and that’s Candice.

Andy told Amanda that he and Judd made a fake deal with Howard and Spencer to try and flip the house and oust her, but not to worry as she is safe. Amanda didn’t feel safe at all.

Amanda confronted Spencer about the plan to get her out, which he claimed was bogus. Amanda told him if he would stop this plan and get Candice out, then she could help him and he wouldn’t be a target next week. Spencer then went off on her, saying he knows she got him on the block and if she thinks he’ll kiss her ass then she is stupid. Spencer said she knew he wanted Candice out, so leave it there and just get to Thursday.

Helen talked to Candice and said he heard Spencer and Amanda arguing about who was going out this week, and Helen told her that she was not supposed to be the target, Amanda was. However Spencer is telling Amanda that he will vote out Candice . . . Candice got angry, which is exactly what Helen wanted . . . she wanted Spencer to look bad.

Candice called a house meeting and confronted Spencer about all his lies. She says everyone is telling her that Spencer is moving to keep Howard and oust her, while he keeps saying to her that Amanda is his target. Spencer told Candice that she was trying to make him look bad. In DR Spencer realized maybe Candice should go after her melt down, and that Amanda was his real target initially. Candice tells Spencer to stop talking about her, and he was going home next week if she has anything to do with it.

Aaryn talked with Jessie and GinaMarie about things. After Candice’s blowup, they all talked about how dangerous Candice really is, she is a liar and a threat. Aaryn really wanted her gone, this is her HOH and she wants Candice out.

Julie went to the living room and talked to the houseguests. She gave them some updates on real world events involving celebrities. Former contestant Brittany had a daughter, and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had a baby named North. She also told them about the royal baby.

We then got to see Judd’s family and the small town he’s from and where they are all routing for him. Ironically Aaryn and the others inside the house think he’s lying about where he’s from, that he’s really a genius and an amazing liar, probably from a huge town.

The live vote was then held . . .

Helen, Elissa, McCrae, Judd, Andy, GinaMarie and Jessie voted to evict Howard.
Spencer voted to evict Candice.

Julie gave Howard the news that he had been evicted by a vote of 7 to 1. Howard said his goodbyes to people, not choosing to storm out like last week’s loser.

Julie talked to Howard about his game. She talked to him about the racial issues in the house and how he was able to hold his tongue. He said it was hard, and unlike the real world he didn’t have the option to walk away. He also said he has a bad temper and kept it in check. After watching his goodbye speeches, he learned America was the MVP this week. We are also MVP again, getting to choose the third nominee next week.

The new HOH game started, and it’s an endurance challenge. They are all stuck standing on a giant log which rolls and they have to keep their balance on it. They do have a rope they can hold onto to help with balance only. Of course it wouldn’t be “Big Brother” if they didn’t throw water and stuff at them. This time it looks like the log speeds up and slows down randomly. In order to inspire them to compete hard, Julie told them there would be no “Have Nots” this week. Then she offered a reason to give up . . . the first three to fall would get to open one of three boxes and in one is 5000 dollars. So far nobody jumped off to take the deal.

Next week is the big “Double Eviction Week!” I’ll update with the HOH when it’s known.

*UPDATE* Spoilers under the jump . . .
