True Blood: Here Lies Teri and Blah Blah Blah

So I didn’t do a write-up of last week’s “True Blood,” and was planning to do one this week as the promo for it looked far more exciting than last week’s episode. Boy was I wrong! Don’t get me wrong, the parts at the prison were great. However most of the episode was remembering Teri at his funeral, or should I say remembering him before the whole Efreet nonsense which ruined his storyline and character. He’s dead, but will he stay that way? On this show, one can never know. We did see the return of Tara’s mom and the good reverend she married.

Eric stormed the jail, killed the humans and freed the vampires. However it was Bilith who saved all their friends in the room where they would meet the sun. Crazy Sarah Newlin, who hid under dead humans to save herself, was the one who ran to open the roof and fry them all. Sadly only one Newlin died, and it wasn’t Sarah. Eric refused to let Steve feast on Bilith to save himself. As he met the sun, looking up at his crazy ex Sarah, he screamed “I loved you . . . . Jason Stackhouse!” It was pretty funny. He burst into flames, and Jason then went after Sarah. Instead of blowing her brains out . . . he let her go! Stupid mistake. So we’ll see her again for sure.

Bilith ended up drained and three bloody women (three Liliths?) told him it was time for him to end his life on earth and come with them. He apparently did what he had to do, which was save Vampirekind. He did not want to go yet, and Jessica and her new boyfriend saved him by letting them drink some of his blood back from them. They are all daywalkers now . . . but we don’t know how long that will last yet. Is it permanent? The vamps destroyed all the tainted tru blood, and at the end Pam watched as a still heartbroken Eric zoomed off into the sky, apparently leaving her. So Eric has been written out? There have been rumors of his death this season . . . but it appears he’s just up and left.

Next week is the end of the season, and it looks like the Reverend takes up the fight against the sinful daywalking vampires and rallies humans to attack them.

  1. Man, was I disappointed in this episode – between the boring funeral and the bad writing, I was frustrated. So Bill sacrifices himself to save the vamps (reminiscent of Jesus – eat my body drink my blood?) and they just leave him there? Just forgetting the guy who saved them and leaving him there? How dumb was that writing? And I wish the writers would give us an inkling of how long the daywalking effects last. When Russell almost drained Sookie (yes, I know she’s only part fairy), he could only daywalk for about 60 seconds before he went up in flames.

Do the vamps know Sarah was behind the vamp prison/tru blood tainting? Strange they didn’t go after her. Eric could have just flown up to the roof in about 1/2 a second and killed her.

Why did they show the tru blood truck delivery in Honolulu specifically? Did they know the blood in tainted or were the vamps just stealing it for themselves? If the latter, maybe Eric took off to stop tru blood deliveries around the USA?

I also wish the vamp who has Jason on a chain would have died. Don’t know why but that character (actress?) just bugs me. Plus I keep getting her confused with Willa – they look alike.

    Nice to mention Hoyt!

What boring Terry-flashbacks during the funeral.

I was hoping Warlow was a goner. I also wish the show would do something with Sookie besides have her run from man to man.

  2. And did only one vamp get Hep V (the guy in the locker)? I thought all the vamps were drinking it.

    Loved Ginger and her screaming!

  3. I think there were more that died. I assumed the morgue drawers were full of them

I think she looks too much like Willa too! When she said it had been so long since she had seen the sun I thought ” you were just made!” Took me a second to realize it wasn’t Willa.

  4. And why did Bill even have to feed the trapped vamps? If he got into the room, he could have just let them out the door!

Okay, I think I’m done ranting.

  5. Who is that vamp that has made Jason her pet. And why isn’t Jessica showing at least some jealousy about it. I myself kinda liked the funeral…. it was a sweet way to show scenes from Terry that we needed.
