Once Upon A Time : Heading Into The Season Finale . . .
Posted by Dustin on 05.07.2013 at 7:19 pm
So this week’s “Once” was the first of the two-part season finale, both which are Peter Pan-Centric.
In the past, Bae/Neil made his way through the wormhole and landed in Victorian London. There he met Wendy, who had already made friends with “The Shadow” who offered to take her to Neverland. Bae had a bad feeling bout it, and ended up going with the shadow in Wendy’s place, only to be dropped on the Jolly Roger and meet Hook. I don’t think the name Peter Pan was used once, which is probably how they did this storyline and got around trademark laws. It will be interesting to see if we even see who Peter Pan is next week, or if they’ll just keep him a shadow monster. It seemed to me it was the same type of creature Mulan and Sleeping Beauty battled earlier in the season?
Greg and Tamara held Regina captive and tortured her. She revealed she killed Greg’s dad and buried him at the camp site. He went there and dug him up. My guess is this is a trick. If Regina was going to kill someone, I don’t think she’d leave evidence around, let alone bury the body. He’s alive somewhere . . . Tamara and Greg meanwhile work for some secret organization dedicated to destroying magic in this world, saying Storybrook isn’t the first place it crossed over. Oh brother. This is now getting too much like “Lost” or “Fringe” with the conspiracy theories and secret societies. They got ahold of Regina’s fail safe, a black diamond she can use to blow Storybrook off the map. Unfortunately they plan to use it to do just that, as the headquarters commanded them to.
Snow and Charming, using magic, managed to figure out where Regina was and went to save her. They put aside their differences when they learned of the fail safe. Meanwhile Emma finally proved to Neil that Tamara was no good. Upon confronting her, she shot Neil and threw down one of the stolen beans to create a worm hole. For someone who hates magic, she sure uses it a lot! Neil and Emma were both almost sucked through, but Neil sacrificed himself for Emma. Emma finally admitted she still loved him . . . Neil then went through the worm hole. Where will he end up? My guess is Wonderland. The creators are working on a spin-off featuring Alice in Wonderland, and this is an easy way to continue tying the two shows together.

Drop Dead Diva Returns in June!
Posted by Dustin on 05.05.2013 at 5:49 pm
BACK (FROM THE DEAD) BY POPULAR DEMAND!
Star Brooke Elliott Returns and Newcomer Justin Deeley Joins Ensemble Cast for 13 New Episodes
Series Welcomes Back Emmy® Nominee John Ratzenberger and Jamie Ray Newman in Season Five
Lifetime’s fan favorite and critically-acclaimed series Drop Dead Diva, which follows a shallow wannabe model that suddenly dies in an accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-sized recently deceased attorney, is back by popular demand for a fifth season with 13 all-new episodes set to debut on Sunday, June 23, at 9pm ET/PT. Immediately following Drop Dead Diva’s return, Lifetime will premiere its new drama Devious Maids.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the one-hour, comedic drama stars Brooke Elliott (Wicked, Taboo), Margaret Cho (Dancing with the Stars, Cho Dependent), Jackson Hurst (Living Proof), Kate Levering (Cashmere Mafia), April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men) and Lex Medlin (Southland).
The series’ fifth season opener, entitled “Back from the Dead,” picks up from last season’s cliff hanger finale with Jane (Elliott) frantically searching for her missing fiancé Owen (Medlin), who disappeared after witnessing her kiss Grayson (Hurst) moments before their wedding. While both Jane and Owen nurse their broken hearts, Jane’s friends and co-workers also are confronted with their own life dilemmas. Kim (Levering) goes public with her pregnancy at the firm as Grayson continues to struggle with his feelings for Jane. Meanwhile, Stacy (Bowlby) is left contemplating the future of her business, The Pakery. Newcomer Justin Deely (90210) joins Drop Dead Diva as Jane’s new heavenly guide Paul, stepping in for Luke (Carter McIntyre) when he is called back to Heaven just after telling her that Old Jane has returned to earth. Now that Jane and Old Jane are both on earth, the two kindred spirits will finally meet face-to-face, creating one of the most highly anticipated Drop Dead Diva moments ever.
Nashville: Shocking and Not So Shocking Twists!
Posted by Dustin on 05.05.2013 at 5:46 pm
The latest episode of “Nashville” was actually really good, full of a few good twists.
Teddy finally confronted his mistress Peggy over exposing him to the tabloids. He wasn’t happy and gave her the cold shoulder, especially after she revealed Lamar found out what she did and blackmailed her over it. Meanwhile Lamar was cold with Tandy because when he woke up, it was Rayna there with him. He never expected that, and now it seems he has a new view of Rayna. He also seemed less than appreciative of all Tandy had done in taking care of his company while he was hospitalized. Teddy, learning about Lamar’s blackmail, is vowing to no longer do any business with Lamar. Tandy then went straight to Coleman with the truth about Teddy and Peggy’s embezzlement, hoping he’d use it to somehow oust Teddy and then she’d be her daddy’s favorite again. At least someone has set the ball in motion to take Teddy down! This is the one thing most of us have been waiting for! Well that and Deacon and Rayna’s hookup.
Deacon told Rayna that he loved her still, but she pushed him to move on with Stacy, she was going to move on with her new producer Liam. That lasted all of five minutes. Instead of going to the Bahamas with him, she showed up at Deacon’s place and said she loved him too, and they quickly headed to the bedroom. Of course she still has that little secret about their love child that Deacon has no idea of. Something tells me he won’t be very in love with Rayna once that comes out.
Juliette finally figured out the truth about Dante, a day short and a half a million too late! Dante not only convinced her to buy a half-million dollar home, but when her mother told Juliette she saw him kissing her real-estate agent, he set her up to look like her mom was using again. Only later did Juliette realize the pills “found” on her mother was a medication she was deathly allergic to. Dante and the agent took off with her money and then some out of her personal accounts! I’d like to feel bad for her, but I don’t. Unfortunately this will just make her more of an uber bitch I fear.
Finally Scarlet tried to help Gunnar with Rayna, but he didn’t want her help. This basically pushed her back to Avery, who was back at the bottom and trying to become that man Scarlet fell in love with. She liked what she was seeing in him. Oh lord please don’t go back to him! Meanwhile Gunnar and Will kept hanging out, and at the end of the episode it happened. They were drunk and Will put the moves on Gunnar! My initial instinct in the beginning was Will was closeted, but then I thought that they wouldn’t do this storyline with the show revolving around country music. I began thinking he must be after Scarlet, or Gunnar’s songs, but I knew something was up. Guess I should have listened to my gut! A great twist!
Smash: A Crushing Episode . . .
Posted by Dustin on 05.05.2013 at 3:26 pm
So last week’s “Smash” ended with Kyle getting hit by a car after dropping all of Jimmy’s stuff at his brother’s. I thought he’d end up in the hospital, it would bring everyone together . . . NOPE! They just went and killed Kyle off. I totally wasn’t expecting that at all. It brought both the cast of “Bombshell” and “Hit List” together, even if only for a little while.
My guess is that this may be what Jimmy needs to clean his act up. We learned that Karen didn’t sleep with Derek after all, she loves Jimmy so she couldn’t do it. Meanwhile Ivy finally let Derek go, because she realized he would always have a “Karen” in his life.
They also made strides in redeeming Tom’s character, who was becoming a major arse in the way he was treating Julia. He wanted to dissolve their partnership, which she felt was some kind of declaration of war. However he later explained it was for her benefit, as this way she’d be free to do Gatsby without him owning 50% of the company. I was glad they stopped making Tom into another Derek, one of them is enough.
Eileen, Ivy and the crew of “Bombshell” felt they would for sure bring some Tonys home, especially with Eileen’s shady publicist making sure that “Hit List” wouldn’t make it to Broadway anytime soon. However they forgot one little nemesis who is still around . . . At the end of the show Eileen learned Jerry was putting the money up to that “Hit List” to Broadway!
It’s sad, just when the show was finally getting good again, it’s too little too late. It’s pretty much destined to be canceled with no third season unless there is some insane miracle that occurs.
Grimm: All Keys Lead To What?
Posted by Dustin on 05.01.2013 at 6:55 pm
So “Grimm” moved to Tuesday last night with an alien inspired episode. I kinda feel like with this week and last week’s “monsters” that the show is running out of ideas and is really reaching. A volcano monster and an alien-like creature? I worry what is next . . . Oh wait, the spoilers below say what it is!
In spite of reaching with the monsters, the storylines are still good, and the show has been given a third season. That’s good, because there are only 4 episodes left and I doubt we will be getting a lot of answers. Nick finally shared the key with Monroe, who figured out it figured into an old map . . . a treasure map. But what was buried? Nick went to Renaurd who didn’t know, but had heard rumors. The knights templar, the ancestors of the Grimm, were the ones who betrayed the royals and hid the treasure. He said it had to be important enough that they wanted it kept from everyone. He said some say it’s the cross and nails used to crucify Christ, others say it’s Mohamed’s sword, then there were other artifacts related to various prophets. I wonder, based on the odd shape of the key, if it leads to the Ark? The key actually looks like the two tablets of the ten commandments . . .
Finally Juliette’s memory came back, and she went to Monroe. I think it’s safe to say her entire memory didn’t come back though. She seems to have remembered enough about Nick, that she loves him, and that he told her he was a Grimm. She clearly doesn’t remember the whole explanation, or thinking he was nuts and needed help. I can’t remember if she saw Monroe’s true self? I know Nick planned to have him show it to her . . . She went to Monroe and asked about Grimms, he told her it was someone who could see into the heart of darkness. She remembered Nick saying the same thing. She wants him back, but fears he doesn’t want her anymore. Monroe assured her that is not the case.
Next week Nick gets kissed by a witch, and only Juliette can save him! Looks like a reunion episode to me. Spoilers for the next two episodes below . . .
