Private Practice: Leading Up To The Finale . . .

Private Practice: Leading Up To The Finale . . .

So it seems like they’ve been playing some of these “Private Practice” episodes out of order no? At least the one with Amelia and her new Dr. Love, an episode I found really boring and fairly pointless to be honest. This shocked me as normally I love her, and I could see her moving to “Grey’s Anatomy” in the future if they ever wrote McDreamy out.

The latest episode had Charlotte giving birth to the rest of the babies, while Cooper and Mason battled another couple for the perfect house. I loved how Charlotte, even in labor, was bossing around the nurses and doctors. The perfect house, well I could have lived without all that silliness. It obviously would have been cute if the show had a future.

Meanwhile Addison battled for custody of Henry after her social worker had reservations about Jake. Jake however saved the day and talked to a judge about his past and what really happened, something that should have been the social worker’s job! However she’s got it hard, as she moonlights as a nurse in Salem 🙂

Violet was feeling unhappy and depressed seeing everyone around her pairing up and in love. She was asked out, but realized she’s not yet in that place yet. However it seems she’s getting there. I hope we see her find happiness in the final episode, but something tells me it will be finding happiness with herself and her own life as it is.

I have no idea how they plan to wrap this all up next week. I hope it’s good though! It looks like it’s a wedding for Addison and Jake to close the show out. Hopefully she doesn’t run!

Pretty Little Liars: Another -A Team Member Revealed?

Pretty Little Liars: Another -A Team Member Revealed?

Posted by Dustin on 01.16.2013 at 11:37 am

So last night I caught up on two hours of “Pretty Little Liars.” Mona is back at Rosewood and causing major drama for the liars, while Toby still seems to be doing her bidding on the side. Jenna left town after Garret’s death on the “Ghost Train” as she feared she’d be next. Spencer meanwhile was worried for Jason, who was the last alive member of the NAT club. There is still no word on where Melissa is.

Mona returned to school and played everyone like a fiddle. She got everyone to somehow feel sorry for her and believe she had gotten better, while still plotting the whole time. She tried to get Hannah back on her side, but Hannah learned from Lucas that Mona was constantly breaking out of the hospital and was blackmailing him still. She even had Toby try and run him over, though they don’t know it was Toby.

Aria still hasn’t told Fitz about his kid, and -A is pressuring her too. She also learned more about her dad’s involvement with Allison. It seems Allison was blackmailing him over the whole Meredith affair. He couldn’t give her anymore money than he had without it being noticed. She didn’t like that and told him that he had till Labor Day Weekend when she’d be back in town to fork over the money. That’s the night that Allison was murdered. Byron apparently plastered his wife with wine that night, knowing she’d pass out, so he could sneak out to meet Allison. It’s definitely looking like he could have killed her, but I’m sure it’s a red herring.

Mona and Jason have been cozying up, which has worried Spencer. Near the end of the last episode we saw Mona tending to a wound on Jason’s side and trying to keep it hidden. It would appear that Jason is on the -A team, as Aria stabbed someone trying to push her off the ghost train with a screw driver. His wound definitely looked like it was caused from that. I feel bad for Spencer as both Toby and Jason are in cahoots with Mona, and she has no idea!

The last episode also had Aria and Meredith finding common ground over their concern about Byron. Meredith knew about the blackmail, and both she and Aria worry whether he killed Allison or not. Sometime tells me Aria shouldn’t trust Meredith. Meredith wanted to dispose of some incriminating pages from Allison’s diary that Aria got her hands on, but Aria insisted she had hidden them. If Meredith isn’t in on this with Byron, I think she’s on the -A team too. At the end of the episode after Byron left his office late at night and Mona then swooped in, calling someone saying that he just left . . . .

Once Upon A Time: Crossing Boundaries

Once Upon A Time: Crossing Boundaries

Posted by Dustin on 01.14.2013 at 7:25 pm

Last night on “Once” we got a lot of back stories, but a surprise at the end. I thought it was only an okay episode after last week’s big return. There were a lot more backstories on this episode, which somewhat bored me a little.

In the past we learned how Mulan met Prince Phillip. Belle and Mulan teamed up to defeat a creature, who was in fact a transformed Phillip. Maleficent cursed him along with Beauty/Aurora . . . That gives me hope that we might see Maleficent again, even if only as a flashback. After Mulan swore to help Phillip, Regina kidnapped Belle to put her in the tower to try and lure Gold to her.

In the present Gold learned of a way to cross the town barrier while not losing his memory, a potion applied to Bae’s scarf. However before he could do so, Hook made himself known and stole it with the help of Mr. Sneed. Belle went to get it back, only to find Archie and set him free. She also faced off with Hook, who told her what Gold/Rumple did to his first wife. However Belle still believed there was good in him, and she was not going to lose him again.

Belle and Gold headed to the town’s edge with the scarf and potion. Gold went across the barrier and still had his memory. Out of no where, Hook showed up and shot Belle! Not enough to kill her, but enough to push her over the barrier and she forgot everything. Oh dear! Before Gold could destroy Hook with magic, a car flew out of nowhere, hit Hook and crashed into a ditch. Something tells me Bae just showed up!

Elsewhere Charming and Snow decided to look into getting a bigger house for them all and having a fresh start here in Storybrook. However before they could live happily ever after, Archie showed up and told them the truth about Cora and Regina. Emma realized this meant they’d have to tell Regina the truth and apologize, which was going to suck.

Next week’s previews have Cora finally making herself known to Regina. Below are the spoilers for the next new episode . . . .

Parenthood: Wash All Over!

Parenthood: Wash All Over!

Posted by Dustin on 01.14.2013 at 1:32 pm

So I watched “Parenthood” in the airport this morning. Yes, I’m finally home! I have a lot to catch-up on to. Back to last week’s “Parenthood,” what a powerful, heartbreaking, yet at the same time hilarious episode.

The story with Julia, Joel and Victor was infuriating and heartbreaking. Everything had been getting better, then suddenly Victor turned on Julia. When he called the cops on her for child abuse . . . Wow! Part of me was thinking this was all a test, that he was testing them. However Julia really feels that Victor hates her and is now questioning whether they should go through with the adoption or not. Joel didn’t want to hear that, as it’s been easier for him to bond with Victor than Julia. My guess is because Victor had a mom, but not a dad.

Drew and Amy’s storyline was heartbreaking. Amy got the abortion, as far as we know, and then broke things off with Drew. Drew however wanted to keep it and make things work. Why do I feel she didn’t go through with it, and dumped Drew so he wouldn’t find out?

Meanwhile Mark went to Sarah after seeing something was up with Drew and Amy. This made Mark realize he gave up on Sarah way too early and he should have fought for her. Oh brother! Next week is the final episode of the season I believe. It looks to be a showdown between Mark and Hank for Sarah.

Max brought the funny with this episode when he hit puberty and Adam had to have the talk with him about what that meant, including personal hygiene. Max, having no filter, shared way too much information with his family about the changes going on in his body. However one thing he wasn’t ready to discuss with Adam was sex and girls. He said because of his Aspergers, he wasn’t going to be like other boys his age, and he wasn’t ready to talk about it. That was the one bit of sadness in his storyline this week.

Grey’s Anatomy: I Do I Do I Do

Grey’s Anatomy: I Do I Do I Do

Posted by Dustin on 01.12.2013 at 11:07 am

So I made it through “Grey’s Anatomy” last night and enjoyed the episode. It was hilarious to see the wolf pack mother from “True Blood” playing a biker pack mother here. Pretty much the same role!

I was really worried that Miranda would end up losing Ben in the end, but she didn’t. They also wrote the story in a way that he is still off in LA at school to be a surgeon, so we won’t see him much. However it’s clear if they want to bring him in full time, they can.

Adele’s death was heartbreaking, but I suspected it was coming. With her characters condition and the actress on “The Client List” now this wasn’t a shock. Plus it also paves the way for Richard and Jackson’s mom.

I hate what they are doing with Jackson and April, having them apart and Jackson becoming the new Mark Sloan and sleeping with his students. Bleck!

Alex and his students relationship however was fairly humorous in this episode.

Finally I was sad to see Christina and Owen finalize the divorce, but clearly it’s not the end if their relationship. I feel like they’ve done the opposite of MerDer. Those two took so long to get married officially, whereas Christina and Owen appear to rather not be married.

Next week we should find out more about the lawsuit and what will happen. I keep expecting Richard to become Chief again when Owen takes the blame.

Once Upon A Time: Frame Job With A Twist

Once Upon A Time: Frame Job With A Twist

Posted by Dustin on 01.08.2013 at 5:01 pm

So I made it through “Once” today. The streaming wasn’t bad, and for some reason I got no commercials. Bonus !

This is typed on my phone, so I’m keeping is short and sweet to my thoughts only. If you haven’t seen it, I would stop reading as this episode had a bug twist.

So the big shock was the murder of Archie by Cora, who framed her own daughter. As we learned, she was doing it to take everything from Regina and turn her back to the dark side. Actually we know she’s doing it so Regina will re-embrace her mom and come to her for help. Emma tried to believe in Regina and her attempts to change, but Gold showed her how to use her magic to see the truth. Well to see who she thought was Regina. When Regina learned she could use magic, she was shocked. I’m guessing that Emma is going to be her biggest rival over time, not Snow.

As Emma, Snow and Charming confronted a stunned Regina over her supposedly killing Archie, this is when Cora showed up. However I was a bit confused. Could only Regina see Cora? Or could nobody? Like I said I was streaming, but as good as it was for being on a cruise ship, there were hiccups. As nobody seemed to freak out at seeing Cora, I assume they didn’t see her. Cora however influenced Regina to go back to the dark side, and Regina escaped in a cloud of smoke.

At the end came the big twist, Archie is still alive. Cora killed some unknown and transformed his body. Archie is Hook’s ship and she told Hook he was key to getting revenge on Gold, as he knew secrets they could use.

The beginning of she show had Mary and David getting busy in bed and Henry and Emma walking in on them. I thought that was hilarious.

I was really glad they didn’t kill Archie. I thought that would have totally blown. I’m still angry they killed the old Sheriff.

I’m still waiting for the return of August and Henry’s dad ….

Vacation Time of the Year!

Vacation Time of the Year!

Posted by Dustin on 01.07.2013 at 9:01 am

So it’s that the of the year again, my annual January vacation. We went away a week earlier than normal, and wouldn’t you know it the shows still started back this week!

I have unlimited Internet on the boat (can’t believe it took this long for them to offer that), so during down time and when I’m waiting for other to wake up (like right now) I will watch what I can on Hulu and other apps. Attempting to do last nights “Once” now, but the quality isn’t that great and it’s a lot of buffering.

I’ll post as often as I can, and any really important news. I think I have this weeks spoilers covered. Many shows still don’t return until late in the month, some like “Smash” and “Grimm” aren’t back until February and March.

PS sorry about this post showing up 10 times. The WordPress app on my phone kept saying “failed to publish.” Oops!

Parenthood Returns, Kristina’s Hair Goes . . .

Parenthood Returns, Kristina’s Hair Goes . . .

Posted by Dustin on 01.04.2013 at 11:47 am

“Parenthood” was first out of the gate with new shows starting on January 1st. However that’s because there are only a few new episodes before it ends the season and new NBC shows take over. Boo! Why can’t they give this show a full years run?

Kristina ended up shaving her head due to the chemotherapy, but then was hurt when she got looks in public. This gave her serious self-confidence issues, and Adam made things worse by buying her a really bad wig. She thought Adam was basically saying he didn’t like how she looked. Max thought it was awesome and she looked like Bain from Batman. I thought she looked like the Veeeeger character from the first Star Trek movie. Amber, who had nothing else to do since she broke things off with Ryan, saw a project just sitting in front of her. She bought Kristina a nice wig, and arranged for a romantic weekend getaway for them. The story was a nice lighthearted touch to what has definitely been a downer of a storyline so far.

The temporary peace and happiness was over at Joel and Julia’s as Victor began asking about his real mom, when he could tell her how good he was doing in school, when he could see her. He didn’t seem to understand that wasn’t going to happen. Julia tried to explain the court took her rights away because she was in prison and was an addict. I thought last season she signed them away? He still didn’t understand, and ended up tossing a metal bat towards Sydney and through a metal window. Julia lost it, and Victor now wants nothing to do with her. Oh dear! And they were getting along so well too.

Finally Jasmine dropped a bomb on Crosby. No, she’s not pregnant yet. However Renee lost her job and is broke. At first they thought they could just lend her money to get by, but it soon became apparent that Renee was going to have to move in with them. Crosby was not thrilled, but agreed to give up his man-cave to turn it into a room for Renee. Part of me loves that Renee is now indebted to Crosby. However I know she’ll take over the house and just cause major problems. I wonder if she knows they want to have another kid? She’ll just micromanage everything.

The previews for next week did drop a pregnancy bomb, but it’s Amy and Drew who are having a kid. Oh brother! I hope Drew is smart enough to suggest a paternity test, because Amy kinda seemed to be sleeping around a bit before they got back together. However I’m sure he won’t, and if Sarah suggests it then he’ll throw a hissy fit.
