Once Upon A Time: Crossing Boundaries

Once Upon A Time: Crossing Boundaries

Last night on “Once” we got a lot of back stories, but a surprise at the end. I thought it was only an okay episode after last week’s big return. There were a lot more backstories on this episode, which somewhat bored me a little.

In the past we learned how Mulan met Prince Phillip. Belle and Mulan teamed up to defeat a creature, who was in fact a transformed Phillip. Maleficent cursed him along with Beauty/Aurora . . . That gives me hope that we might see Maleficent again, even if only as a flashback. After Mulan swore to help Phillip, Regina kidnapped Belle to put her in the tower to try and lure Gold to her.

In the present Gold learned of a way to cross the town barrier while not losing his memory, a potion applied to Bae’s scarf. However before he could do so, Hook made himself known and stole it with the help of Mr. Sneed. Belle went to get it back, only to find Archie and set him free. She also faced off with Hook, who told her what Gold/Rumple did to his first wife. However Belle still believed there was good in him, and she was not going to lose him again.

Belle and Gold headed to the town’s edge with the scarf and potion. Gold went across the barrier and still had his memory. Out of no where, Hook showed up and shot Belle! Not enough to kill her, but enough to push her over the barrier and she forgot everything. Oh dear! Before Gold could destroy Hook with magic, a car flew out of nowhere, hit Hook and crashed into a ditch. Something tells me Bae just showed up!

Elsewhere Charming and Snow decided to look into getting a bigger house for them all and having a fresh start here in Storybrook. However before they could live happily ever after, Archie showed up and told them the truth about Cora and Regina. Emma realized this meant they’d have to tell Regina the truth and apologize, which was going to suck.

Next week’s previews have Cora finally making herself known to Regina. Below are the spoilers for the next new episode . . . .

AFRAID THAT THE STRANGER MAY HAVE SEEN MAGIC BEFORE HIS ACCIDENT, SOME OF THE STORYBROOKE RESIDENTS WANT DR. WHALE TO LET HIM DIE SO THAT HE CANNOT EXPOSE THEIR TRUE IDENTITIES TO THE WORLD, AND VICTOR TRIES TO PROVE TO HIS FATHER THAT HE CAN BRING BACK THE DEAD, ON ABC’S “ONCE UPON A TIME”

“In the Name of the Brother” – Dr. Whale is tasked with mending Hook’s wounds and performing surgery on the stranger whose car crashed upon entering Storybrooke. But some of the townspeople fear that the stranger may have seen magic — which could expose their true identities to the world — and think that leaving him to die would be the best solution. Meanwhile, as Mr. Gold tries to reunite with a despondent Belle, Cora attempts to reunite with daughter Regina; and in the land that was, Victor desperately wants to prove to his disapproving father that he can, indeed, bring back the dead, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, JANUARY 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest starring are Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, David Anders as Dr. Whale/Victor, Barbara Hershey as Cora, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Ethan Embry as stranger, Nelson Wong as paramedic no. 1, Janet Pinnick as nurse no. 1, Gregory Itzin as Alphonse, Chad Michael Collins as Gerhardt, Yurij Kis as Igor, Ian Harmon as sentry and Scott McAdam as orderly.
