True Blood: Nearing The End . . .

True Blood: Nearing The End . . .

So there are only two episodes left of “True Blood” before it’s all over for another year. I don’t know how they are going to end it, but I don’t think I’m going to be happy with how it ends. I think this season is right next to the 2nd season as my least favorite. Actually, I may dislike it even more! Lilith has turn out to be the pits, even more so than the Maenads.

Bill seems to be going completely insane, thinking not only has Lilith chosen him, but he is the chosen *one* to lead them all. It seems like he’s taken over Salome’s role in leadership. He and Nora drugged Eric in order to turn him to Lilith’s cause. Eric and Nora had a vision of Godrick warning them that Lilith was a false god, and he had done what they have failed to do . . . evolve! Suddenly Lilith appeared and ripped Godrick to pieces. The next thing we know, Eric is dedicated to the cause, saying he was worshiping Godrick as a false god. Okay I have to hope Eric is faking this. Godrick is dead, he can’t be killed by Lilith. Please let Eric be faking! I can’t take anymore of this whacky cult storyline.

This episode saw the departure of Hoyt. He took a job in Alaska and asked Jess to glamor him to forget both her and Jason before he left. She did as he asked. I’m sad to see Hoyt go! There are so many other characters I would rather see gone over Hoyt. I hope he will return at some point. This was a waste of a good character!

The new annoying sheriff told Pam and Tara that they had to increase the number of new vampires in the district, direct orders from above. If they didn’t, he’d take Pam’s bar and Tara! Pam later told Tara F… the bar, they could just live on the wind like she and Eric did for so long.

Bill finally remembered about poor little Jessica, you know his progeny. He had her brought to the AVL headquarters and began instructing her about Lilith. Oh no, please don’t make Jessica a wacky cult member too! It’s just too much. I loved when she commented that this sounded way too much like the bible study class her parents forced her to take.

Sam and Luna ran around trying to track down Steve, who had Emma. They ended up being carried, as mice, right into the AVL headquarters!

One vampire apparently had enough of the crazy Lilith cult, and it was the craziest of them all . . . Russell! How is it that Russell is the only one who can see they are all insane? I guess because he is even more insane? Russell said he wanted more, he wanted to sun walk. He told them about the fairy blood, that it’s not a myth. He felt they could gather it, study it. Salome said Fairies are wicked, and they are of the night and that is how it is supposed to be. He told them all to basically screw themselves and took off to do what he wanted.

Jason and Sookie found an old scroll under the floorboards under Gran’s bed, the real clue she tried to tell Sookie about. They had the scroll analyzed, it was over 200 years old, but the scroll was in know known human language. They knew that meant fairy language, and took it to the Fairy Club. Claude and his sisters were too young to read it, but they turned to someone well old enough to do so. It was the fairy who had sex with Andy last season and yup . . . she’s pregnant! They translated the scroll. It was a contract between M. Warlow and Sookie’s earliest ancestor promising M. Warlow his first fairy blooded female relative. It took almost 200 years, but that was Sookie.

So we at least made progress on two fronts. One, we are getting closer the Warlow mystery. However something tells me we won’t meet them this season. What did Sookie’s ancestor get out of the deal though? Also the fairy Andy boinked, is going to have his kid. That’s going to complicate things for him and Holly for sure. Of course Andy has to find out about the kid first. I am still annoyed that the entire were-panther and Crystal storyline with Jason has just been completely dropped. Unless they are waiting to pull that one back out of their bag.

  1. You forgot about Tara and Ginger killing the new Sheriff. Also, I think Eric is faking. I’m hoping he will somehow hook up with Sam and Luna to get them all out.
I too hate this storyline. The books were so much better.

Right before Godric “died”, Eric told him to fight her. Godric replied “I’m not the one who needs to fight her” or something along those lines. I’m guessing that’s what made Eric decide to play along and fight instead of just give in and ask for the true death.

  2. You also forgot about how someone turned Mike the coroner and Sookie killed with chop sticks. That was actually kind of funny. Plus they killed the tech vampire Molly. But at least there was no Terry this week.

  4. I was really holding out hope that Bill had a plan up his sleeve and was just playing along with Salome and her crew…. until he tried convert Jessica – he seemed pretty convincing that he was now a true follower of Lilith. That hope is dwindling. I think it will take an attack (or near attack) on Sookie to have Bill “see the light”. But why was Bill videotaping Eric and Nora during their visions?

I didn’t expect the new vamp sheriff to bite it so early. Can’t say I’m disappointed though.

I think Warlow will be next season’s villain.

I think Steve Newlin will die this season by Sam or Luna’s hand. It was rather funny though, when he was upset that Emma had shifted back into a human. He really didn’t want to see her killed by the baby-eating vampire Nigel. Maybe there’s hope for Steve yet. I’d like to find out who turned him though, and what about his wife (Sarah?)?

I wasn’t keen about Tara being turned, but I’m liking her new relationship with Pam.

I thought Jessica should have glamoured Hoyt into just getting over his heartbreak and be back to being friends with Jessica and Jason. And to not leave town. I think (hope) Hoyt will be back, but it’s not looking that way. I think Jessica realized she wouldn’t hurt so much if Hoyt was gone. Alaska would be pretty vampire-free during the long summer days, but the winter and it’s short days would be vampire heaven!

    Alcide, where were you?

  5. Oh yeah, Sookie should have just rescinded her invitation to that Mike guy. What he the guy Sookie was talking about last week with Jason when she mentioned overhearing someone wanting to suck on her toes?

I didn’t clue in that the old fairy (Morella?) was the one Andy slept with last season. Good job Dustin!

While this season isn’t my favourite, I’m still enjoying it more than season two.
