True Blood: Only Three Episodes Left!
This week’s “True Blood” wrapped up two story-lines, neither one I really cared about to be honest. The first was the horrible storyline involving Terry, Patrick and the Ifreet. In the end, Patrick held Arlene hostage in order to get Terry to give himself up to him so he could execute him. But Arlene and Terry got the upper hand, and Terry shot him. The spirit of the woman said the debt of blood had been paid, and the Ifreet took Patrick’s body away. Good riddens, and I hope we don’t have to see any consequences of this story and Patrick’s death play out!
The other story that ended was the Obama masked supe-killers storyline. A video on-line lead Andy and and Jason to Bud’s house, and then an old pig farm. Meanwhile Sookie ended up there on her quest to find out who Warlow was, because it was Bud who found her parents; bodies. Sookie was taken hostage, along with Hoyt by Bud, his lover (who was the Dragon) and the other Obamas. I found myself wondering what was the point of all of this? We didn’t know who this woman was before now, we had no attachment to her, so it was no shock that she was the Dragon. Had it been Hoyt’s mama, that would have been a good reveal. I just feel like with this nobody woman as the dragon, that this story had no purpose. At least pulling Bud into it gave us someone we did know, but sadly it seemed like he was “whipped” into it all by the woman.
Sookie is still no closer to finding out who Warlow is at this point, and we only have three episodes left!
Alcide left town and went to see his dad, who like him appears to be a disgraced and packless wolf. I don’t know what the point of the flashbacks were. I hope they are leading up to something more meaningful, maybe something that can help Alcide. Meanwhile J.D. and his pack are all addicted to Russell’s blood, but soon learned they were really nothing but dogs to him. Hello, that’s all they were before! Did they think things had changed? Russell and Steve showed up, and Russell took Emma from her grandma and gave her to Steve as a present because Emma’s grandmother would not drink his blood. He also did it because Steve thought the pup was so cute. When J.D. tried to say no, Russell put him in his place. So much for the mighty J.D.! I hope Alcide comes back to kick his butt and good.
Meanwhile over to the Lilith Bunch, Eric and the Tech Girl plotted their escape. They wanted to get Nora out with them, as Eric felt he could un-brainwash her. They involved Bill in their plan, which turned out to be a mistake. It seems Bill has drank way too much of the Lilith kool-aid and turned Eric and Tech Girl over to Salome! I am hoping Bill really isn’t a cult member and that he does have a bigger and better plan up his sleeve. However with each season that goes by, Bill just gets more and more evil it seems.
Finally at Fangtasia, Pam was stunned to meet the new Sheriff of the district, some goth kid wanna be. With the true blood factories burning, and Salome the new chancellor, the bad on public feeding of humans had been lifted. Yes, the war is coming!
I think (or maybe I’d like to think) that Bill has something up his sleeve and has not given into the dark side. I think he’s figured out that it’s Salome’s blood in the vile, as when he drank Salome’s blood he had visions of Lilith again (among others). I think there’s more to Salome than we’ve seen (hoping they don’t go down the “Salome’s blood visions come from when she ingested the blood of John the baptist or some such thing…). Then again, I could be completely off the mark on this one.
I was surprised with the role the unknown Sweetie played in the dragon/supe-hunting. I think the writers just needed to quickly wrap that story up so they could focus on Sam and Luna getting Emma back. Let’s hope Emma doesn’t meet up with the baby-eating vampire – I doubt they’d go there!
I liked the tech girl, but I think she’s a red shirt this season. I think Warlow will play a larger role next season, along with all the fairies. Was the whole purpose of Gramma’s message to Sookie about looking under the bed to help solve the Bud/Sweetie case? I agree with LaFayette that the ghosts need to be less cryptic!

As a newcomer to TB, I watched all episodes from season 1 to present in the last 2 weeks, I have to say I’m HATING Bill right now. I’m hoping he has a big plan to redeem himself because his character is just more evil with every episode. However I do like Eric. I’m probably his numero uno fan right now. If Bill fails, I’m sure Eric will find another way to get out of this mess.
