Grey’s Anatomy: Failure! Quitter! Does Jesus Still Love Me?

Grey’s Anatomy: Failure! Quitter! Does Jesus Still Love Me?

So the latest episode had the doctors fretting over their boards and how they did . . .

Alex arrived late, but made it. However he missed his first of three rounds. That meant he failed 1/3 of the exam and had to score perfectly on the other two. He got hostile with his two reviewers from the get go, and eventually blew up at them in the end. He said he was late because of his job, which is what they were here to determine if he could be doing, not second guessing his answers.

Christina was far too complacent in her exam, which is not like her. She would give an answer, then one of her examiners (Mr. Finney from “Boy Meets World”) would ask if she was sure she didn’t want to do it this way? She would respond if he thinks that is what she should do then she is fine with that. In the end she too blew up, saying she knew what she was doing, but if her examiner was more comfortable with her answering with medical techniques from 100 years ago then he should pick an era and she’ll give him those answers. He fumed and ended the exam twenty minutes early.

Meredith was puking sick and kept having to pause. Her examiners thought the questions were making her squeamish. She revealed she had the flew when she finally grabbed a bucket and puked. They said she could take the exam again in a year. She however said no, she’d do it now. She told them they were all doctors, they should be used to puke! Her examiners looked revolted when she blew her cookies the first few times.

Jackson and April were both a mess, and both banged each other in the bathroom at during a break. April was convinced she was being punished for breaking her word to Jesus. Jackson just couldn’t get his mom and The Chief out of his head. April’s blow up moment came when she was asked what she’d do for a terminal patient? She said the first thing she’d do would be to pray. They were stunned, but she stopped apologizing for her faith and said she would pray, though she didn’t think Jesus was listening to her anymore. Then she gave them the answer as to how to make the patient the most comfortable with the time he/she had.

Catherine told The Chief that one of his doctors failed. She didn’t know which, but one failed (so she heard). At the end of the episode everyone got their texts that they passed, everyone but April. The show cut out right as they looked at April, who had just checked her smart phone. The look on her face was . . . not good?

Back at the hospital, an old friend (maybe her cousin?) of Arizona’s came in with tumors. He had been to see some shamanic healer in South America. He told Arizona the tumors came up six months ago, but really it was six years ago. She was furious, as her brother died of cancer (in the war?) and there was nothing she could do for him. She felt she could have done something for him though. He however knew there was nothing to be done, and he didn’t want to have to watch this again.

Meanwhile Lexie and Mark still skirted around the whole feelings thing. Things were made more complicated when the doctor Mark is seeing blurted out that she’d love to have a baby with him. It just came out, she didn’t want him to freak. But clearly you could see the wheels spinning. Derek tried to use a patient as a “teaching moment” for Lexie about waiting to long to do something, but Mark thought Derek was talking to him! The show ended with Lexie professing her love for Mark. Then Mark’s other woman showed up to meet him for a planned date. Mark just stood there stunned . . .

I really really hope Mark chooses Lexie! They are clearly the new Meredith and Derek though, especially if the later don’t return next year. That of course means seasons of off and on relationships. How much longer can I deal with that? It was bad enough with the first couple.

Do you think Izzie took her boards? I wonder . . . Did she pass? I hope we at least hear something. We know Shonda and the show have shot down Katherine Heigl’s desire to return, even if only for a moment.

I’m very confused about April and if she failed. I hope she didn’t, I hope it was a tease. Maybe Catherine was wrong and no one failed? Maybe some no name failed. I just feel like we’ve been there done that with George, let’s not repeat it.

The promo for next week actually showed April celebrating. It is below, so you can see it. I watched it again closely to make sure they didn’t do something sneaking like throw in an old clip of her partying. She’s in the same shirt when she’s hollering with the beer earlier in the clip that she’s wearing when the text comes in that her offer has been withdrawn. I think it will be because of the Jesus answer. Was one of her examiners on the hospital board of where she was supposed to work perhaps?

9021: Oh No Max Didn’t!

9021: Oh No Max Didn’t!

So first up, the CW has officially given “90210” an early renewal. Yay? No news yet on “Ringer” or “The Secret Circle,” both of which I love. (“Supernatural” and “Vampire Diaries” also got renewed).

I misunderstood the previews for last week, though previews do tend to make things deceptive. The blond I thought was Jen was just some friend of Naomi’s who asked her to plan the wedding. P.J. did get married, to some blond super model. The big shock came at the end though, when she learned her friend was marrying Max! Oh Max . . . how could you! Then again Naomi did kinda fall for Austin the Cowboy while she was supposed to be with Max, who also couldn’t support her when she thought she was pregnant.

Austin tried to pimp Adrianna out to his dad to impress him, but she got annoyed that he seemed to just be treating her as a meal ticket. She ended up walking out on him, and a sweet concert event with his dad. Meanwhile Annie and Caleb did the deed. He seems to have made the decision to give up the priesthood? However that may change! Austin came to Annie to try and convince her to tell Adrianna the truth about him, because she thinks he’s just total slime and him admitting to framing Dixon doesn’t help. However he only did that to save Annie’s but from jail. Annie however said now was a really bad time for it to come out she was a prostitute. Oops, it just did and Caleb seems to have heard!

Ivy was broken out of the hospital by her hippie tagging artist friend Diego, who knew what she needed. To break the law and graffiti of course! She made a tribute to Raj, then they both got busted. It seems they were more after Ivy to return her to the hospital. However Diego ended up in bigger trouble as he gave them a fake ID . . . because he’s an illegal. He booked it, leaving Ivy to fed for herself. I’m still not sure how Ivy can be committed without her family’s okay and by a priest in training who really doesn’t know her . . . but whatever! It’s “90210!”

Finally Silver thought she was preggers. Navid vowed to stand by her because she claimed it was a one night stand. He found out it was really Liam. This all went down on the red carpet. Punches were thrown. Words were said. All was recorded for posterity by the paparazzi . . . and Silver gets the call that she’s not pregnant! Have these kids figured out that at this point they’ve all slept with one another, even if they haven’t really, simply because of the amount of partner swapping they’ve done? Maybe it’s time to seek love outside the circle . . .

Private Practice: Moving Forwards … and Backwards

Private Practice: Moving Forwards … and Backwards

Posted by Dustin on 05.02.2012 at 9:16 pm

So what to say about this week’s “Private Practice?” I think the most important thing is that we learned Amelia is keeping the baby and delivering it so that it can be an organ donor for others. Now I feel even worse for her! Especially after she felt the baby kick in this episode, got excited, but then came down to earth. She knew what was going on, she shouldn’t get excited, she’s a neurosurgeon and knew what was happening. Jake was there for her, telling her it was okay, it was natural to react that way. The show ended with her signing all the necessary papers, because she knew she wouldn’t have the strength to do so after the baby was born.

Addison and Pete worked on a case with an illegal trying to have her baby in this country and give him up before she was deported so that the baby had a better life, while Violet and Cooper worked with a young girl who was sure she was really meant to be a boy. Oh and Mason finally began warming back up to Pete, after giving him the cold shoulder for so long.

Sam became Addison’s go-to baby sitter for Henry, and he seems to be warming up to the baby. Oh brother! Why does Shonda Rhimes have such a . . . pardon the expression, hard on for these two? I can’t stand them! Addison needs to move on and so does Sam.

Pete meanwhile ditches therapy sessions with Violet, then at the end of the episode springs huge news on her. Because of the case with the illegal mother, he has remembered his days working in Uganda and other 3rd world countries. Suddenly he’s decided he wants to go back, so he was leaving for awhile . . . Wait . . . What? Isn’t this exactly what he bitched Violet out for doing? Now he wants to do it? Violet begged him to stay, to work on their marriage, to figure things out. Based on next week’s previews it seems he does stay, only to sabotage himself and his career further. I can’t help but think it’s less about his principles and ethics and more about sabotaging himself. Pete is a whole lotta messed up!

The storyline I’m most interested in right now, what the hell is going on with Sheldon, was nowhere to be seen in this episode.

Desperate Housewives: Heading Into The Finale . . .

Desperate Housewives: Heading Into The Finale . . .

Posted by Dustin on 05.02.2012 at 8:23 pm

So after a few weeks of no shows, “Desperate Housewives” returned this Sunday (these breaks are getting ridiculous). There really are only a few shows left. It’s sad because I feel like the show is finally getting good again. Well except for the fact that Mike is still dead! I really despise that they did this. Why couldn’t they have given Susan and Mike a happy ending? How many weeks to we have to watch Susan and MJ being unhappy and depressed? Well, not too many more really. But how are we to get any kind of a happy ending here? Will Susan suddenly learn she’s pregnant?

Bree did what Bree did best this week, she fell for her lawyer. Bree always seems to be attracted to opposites, and he’s as opposite of Bree as one can get. I do hope this relationship will work out for Bree. All the girls deserve their happy ever after.

Lynette has been flirting with Tom’s Boss, and old work acquaintance of hers who always had a thing for her, and thinks Tom is a fool for dropping her. He is bending over backwards to make her happy by punishing Tom and Jane by making Tom work late, which makes Jane very very angry! However he went a little overboard and is planning to send Tom to India for a year! Yeah, not cool, at all. I was enjoying Lynette versus Jane, but this story is a bit too nutty right now. I’m sure Lynette also doesn’t want Tom gone for a year. Even if they don’t get back together, she needs help with the kids. We did learn that Tom still hasn’t signed the divorce papers, so I guess that means there is still hope for them.

Finally Carlos and Gabby were at odds over a client of Gabby’s who recently came into a lot of money. Carlos poached Gabby’s client and convinced her not to spend her money on clothes, but to donate it to the charity he worked with. Basically the war over their client made her run away, as she thought they were both nuts. In the end Gabby told Carlos he tried to steal her client because he’s a shark, that’s what he does and why she loves him. He wanted to change, but she said he was a shark, he can’t change that. I have a feeling this little talk is going to lead Carlos to confessing and saving Bree. His desire to be a better man will drive him to do the most heroic thing he can (though that is debatable, since letting Bree take the fall for everyone else is really cowardly).

Oh . . . and I still want Mike back!
