Grey’s Anatomy Season Finale!

SPOILERS for WEST COASTERS ! ! !
The show began where we left of last week, with the plane crashing carrying Mark, Lexie, Christina, Meredith, Arizona and Derek. Derek was thrown from the plane, and was caught in wreckage alone. He had to break his hand to get free. It was fairly nasty as he took a rock and literally was smashing it.
Lexie was pinned under part of the plane and slowly dying. She knew there was nothing to be done for her. Mark professed his love to her, saying she couldn’t die, they would get married. However . . . Lexie died! Yes, for real! They killed off Lexie!
Meredith and Christina went looking for Derek, who they found. They had to tend to his hand, cleaning it as best then could and setting it.
Arizona was trying to help the pilot, who was stuck in the cockpit and couldn’t feel his legs.
Mark eventually passed out, and Christina discovered he was bleeding internally. It was some kind of heart wound. Christina had to perform surgery in the woods with no anesthesia!
Everyone had to bunk in for the night. Their flare gun wasn’t working, and the transmitter got damaged in the crash . . . so the pilot said nobody would be able to find them. Christina did her best to keep everyone awake, worried if they passed out some may fall into a coma.
Back at the hospital, Bailey was upset because Ben was moving (again?) and they would have to be long distance. He applied for an internship at another hospital. They had just gotten engaged, as Baily proposed. Baily laid into for making decisions without consulting her. He was not a single man anymore, they were an us now!
April was preparing to leave as not only did she fail, but Hunt couldn’t hire her back next year as she’s not the best person for the job. April was in limbo, she doesn’t know who she is anymore. She also was struggling with sleeping with Jackson, and now she’s not a virgin for the man she will marry. Jackson decided to take the job in Tulane, while Karev was planning to go to John’s Hopkins.
Teddy turned down a great job offer, which infuriated Hunt. Teddy claimed she wasn’t leaving because of her loyalty to him, and the fact that this is where her husband died. She finally admitted she had treated him unfairly, but he was still her best friend. She did not want to leave him while he was already possibly losing his wife. Hunt later fired her to force her to go. He said he didn’t want her here anymore, she has been hostile and disruptive, the board has been notified and it’s a done deal. However that was just the excuse Hunt gave, he just wanted her to take the better job.
The Chief was looking forward to making a dinner for his residents, but none of them really wanted to go. They eventually did. However he didn’t want to start until the others showed up . . . but of course they never did.
By the end of the show, the gang were still stuck in the woods, while Hunt received news that their surgeons never arrived at the hospital they were supposed to be going to . . .
My thoughts . . .
Holy fricken crap! Are you kidding me? What I don’t get is that Shonda wrote this before she knew the fate of the originals, including Meredith/Ellen. She had always said there would always be a Grey on the show, which could become Lexie if Meredith/Ellen ever left the show. So if Meredith/Ellen had left . . . what would the show have done? NUTS! I believe there is still one more sister out there also in medical school?
I’m guessing Derek’s hand was his way out if needed. He’s going to need a lot of therapy and surgeries to perform surgery again, let alone have a working hand.
I’m really pissed that April failed her boards. I was hoping there would be a way to magically undo this, or something was wrong. This is too much like George failing his exams. Why do I want to watch her not move on with her classmates? Annoying!
I’m stunned that Hunt fired Teddy! What the hell! I wasn’t expecting her to leave. It’s like the show just cleaned house in this episode. How are they going to suddenly keep all these people next season?
Leaving them stranded in the woods by the end was the worst too. How long does it take to figure out a plane crashed! That it disappeared from radar. These planes are tracked!

Hip-hop star Flo Rida opened the show with a medley of his top hits, featuring the world premiere of his newest song, “Let it Roll (Good Times).”

“The dramas we have for next season are outstanding, with relatable characters and breakout stars. Private Practice Season Finale: Why? Just Why?
Posted by Dustin on 05.16.2012 at 12:18 pm
Seriously, I can’t believe we are back where this season started! The practice could be in jeopardy, and Addison still has to choose a man.
Last week Pete had a patient on life support who didn’t want to live that way. The man’s partner affirmed that he didn’t want to live on machines when it came to it. However the partner had no say, the man’s father did. The man’s father hadn’t been in the guys life for years because he didn’t approve of his “lifestyle,” but would not let his son be taken off life support. Pete went with the wishes of the man and his partner, and was arrested for murder. He further complicated things by not complying with the law, getting his bail denied and thrown into jail. Violet was furious. She felt he was self-sabotaging, that he wasn’t thinking about them or their family. By the end of the show Pete was out on bail for cooperating, but realized he could go back for a long time. He screwed up . . .
Meanwhile Charlotte and the others found out what Amelia was planning to do, donate her babies organs. Charlotte had to talk to the legal team, as she was pretty sure this would be considered murder. Sheldon and Sam were also against it. The other half of the practice wanted to support Amelia’s decision. The hospital legal team basically told Charlotte no. There is a debate in medical science as to what is considered living because Amelia’s baby has a partial brain stem rather than no brain and brain stem at all. Amelia however said her baby would still die shortly after being born; and that it would never think, feel, laugh, cry, or love.
In the end everyone came around to support Amelia and what she kept calling her unicorn baby. Charlotte agreed to let the surgery be done, damn the lawyers. Addison explained to them all why she kept calling it a unicorn baby. She said when Amelia was twelve, all she wanted was a unicorn, because they could go around and do magic. So this baby, was her unicorn, because it was going to save a lot of lives around the country. However just like Pete . . . there could be huge ramifications come next season for what was done!
Finally Addison seemingly chose Jake in this episode, telling Sam he was just too late. Addison and Jake made love, at the hospital of course. They made plans for him to come to her place later with Chinese food. However when Addison arrived home, she found Sam with Henry. He sent her baby sitter home because after all that happened, he wanted to see Henry. He told Addison he may have had reservations, but know he knows what he wants and he will fight for it. Sam said he wants her and Henry. Sam got down on one knee and proposed. Then we see a shot of Jake driving over with Chinese and flowers. The final scene was Addison at her psychiatrist’s office smiling. The show opened with her telling him that she didn’t think she needed him anymore as she is happy and has everything she wants.
Noooooooo! Whyyyyyyyy! Why can’t this show just let Sam and Addison be done and over with?

Smash Season Finale Thoughts . . .
Posted by Dustin on 05.15.2012 at 10:57 am
I really did end up loving this show. Not every episode mind you was a winner. However overall I really enjoyed it. I must say I can go all of season 2 without hearing song Marilyn and Joe sing outside of their house ever again!
A lot of things hit the fan by the end, some good, some not so good.
Elaine firing Ellis was amazing! However you know that little weasel will be back, or somehow be working to bring “Bombshell” down next year. I think he still thinks the whole thing was his idea and will file a lawsuit. He never did seem to hear Julia and Tom say that they had tried the idea before!
Julia’s husband remained uncomfortable with Will Swift being back, and he told her that in the back of his mind he’d always be wondering . . . Meanwhile Julia became nauseous in this episode. Tom thought it was nerves, but she said the only time she ever puked before was when she was pregnant with Leo. Ohhhhh no! Obviously we’ve set up a pregnancy storyline. But who is the daddy? It seemed like Julia and her husband were having issues conceiving, which is why they were trying to adopt. Is it Will’s kid? Is Will the bio dad of Leo possibly? Will meanwhile told his wife the truth, and she took their kids and left him.
Thanks to Ellis’ machinations and getting rid of Rebecca Duval via a poisoned smoothie, the show had to pick either Karen or Ivy to go on. Elaine, Tom and Julia all felt Ivy was more prepared. However Derek saw Karen as Ivy, she had been haunting his dreams as Marilyn since the start. He pushed for her and one, and she of course was a “Smash.”
However not all was well in the world. Ivy did all she could to win the part. She was stunned when Derek told her she was great, but she lacked something that Karen just had. She then decided to sabotage Karen hours before the show by telling her that she and Dev slept together. Karen was crushed, and Ivy got all dolled up prepared to go on. However to her shock, Derek talked Karen into going on anyways. They shared a moment, and he told her without telling her out right that he was in love with her. Hmmph, funny way he has of showing it given he was sleeping with Ivy and Rebecca and who knows who else!
As Karen performed flawlessly, Ivy sat in her dressing room staring in the mirror. The show ended with Karen receiving thunderous applause, and in true Marilyn fashion Ivy picking up a bottle of pills . . .
I don’t think for one minute Ivy will go through with it. She loves herself way too much! I will bet she will take just enough to make it look like she tried.
Frankly I really wish before Karen went on, she told Ivy’s cheerleaders just what she did to her. Would that have been so team Ivy anymore? They were the ones who originally told Karen that it was her job as part of the ensemble to support the lead. I guess that’s only if Ivy is the lead?

Once Upon A Time Season Finale: True Loves Kiss Breaks The Curse!
Posted by Dustin on 05.14.2012 at 8:36 pm
So last night was the season finale of “Once Upon A Time,” which nicely set up next season and a possible new villain?
In both worlds Rumple/Gold set up various plans to reunite Charming/David and Snow/Mary Margaret. He gave Charming/David a ring in both worlds that would lead him to Snow. He claimed to be a fan of true love . . . and what true love brings. He’s said this a few times now . . . is it children? That’s what Rumple always wanted traditionally at least.
Henry was rushed to the hospital by Emma, who finally knew and accepted the truth. Everything he had been saying about the book was true. When Regina showed up Emma demanded she use her magic to stop this . . . but Regina said she had no more magic left.
Jefferson meanwhile was pissed when Regina went back on their deal. Regina said as she didn’t get rid of Emma as she had planned, she wasn’t about to help Jefferson get what he wanted. Did he even realize she probably couldn’t as when they were in the crypt she used the last bit of her magic to get the apple? How did he expect her to magically give him and his daughter a new life when she had no magic left?
Jefferson set out to punish Regina. He let Belle/Beauty out of her cell in the bottom of the hospital and told her to seek out Mr. Gold and say that Regina locked her up. He knew Gold would go after Regina with everything.
Regina meanwhile convinced Emma to battle an old friend who she locked up far beneath town, as she may have some magic they can use. It was Maleficent, who had back in Fairytale Land transformed into a dragon to fight with Charming. Emma, using her father’s sword given to her by Gold, battled the dragon and won. It left behind an egg, which of course Gold stole . . .
Gold had the egg and a potion of True Love (the one he made from Snow and Charming’s hair I think) and made a plan. Belle showed up, and he was stunned to see her . . .
Meanwhile as Emma was battling for the egg, Henry died. She went to him in the hospital and kissed him, which broke the curse. Not only did it bring him back to life, but everyone remembered who they were! The nun/blue fairy suggested to Regina that she move out of here and fast! Regina told Henry that everything she had done, it was because she loved him.
On the outskirts of town, Belle remembered who she was. Gold knew the curse was broken, but he wouldn’t be stopped. Gold dumped the potion into some kind of a well. A purple haze poured out and began to flow toward’s Storybook . . . Everyone looked on and Henry said this is something bad!
And the show ended!
What has Gold done? I don’t know, but he seems to have stepped up as the new villain of the show. Unless this is something good? We know he won’t return them to fairytale land just yet, because he still needs to find his son.
Unanswered questions . . . we still don’t know who Dr. Whale is. Obviously he got his memory back, but who is he? He never said anything.
The location of Gold’s son is also still unknown.
I feel confused as to when Regina figured out who Emma really was? It was as if she never knew before, she always wondered why Gold chose Henry? Now in this episode it was all laid out in front of her, especially when Gold presented Emma with Charming’s sword, which he said was her father’s. It’s as if Regina didn’t flinch!

Award-Winning Phenomenon GLEE Moves to Thursdays Following THE X FACTOR This Fall
New York (Monday, May 14, 2012) – Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the FOX primetime schedule for the 2012-2013 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at the Beacon Theatre.
“Television continues to be the most vibrant, emotionally rich platform in the world,” said Rice. “FOX has been the No. 1 network for eight seasons by delivering groundbreaking, engaging and culturally relevant shows that connect with our audience, not only on-air, but wherever they are in the digital or social space.”
“With first-year culture-driving hits like NEW GIRL and THE X FACTOR and strong returning tentpoles like AMERICAN IDOL and GLEE, we were laser focused on our development and it has really paid off,” said Reilly. “I have no doubt that our two genre-defying new dramas, our new FOX Sports Saturdays, and our three new distinctive, sharp and upscale comedies – all fronted by incredible talent – can propel FOX to even greater success.”
This fall, two new half-hour comedies – THE MINDY PROJECT and BEN AND KATE – will join RAISING HOPE and NEW GIRL on an all-new Tuesday night comedy block. Created by Emmy-nominated writer/producer and New York Times best-selling author Mindy Kaling (“The Office”) and starring Kaling, Chris Messina (“Damages”), Anna Camp (“The Good Wife”) and newcomer Ed Weeks, THE MINDY PROJECT features Kaling as a skilled OB/GYN navigating the tricky waters of both her personal and professional life, as she pursues her dreams of becoming the perfect woman, finding the perfect man and getting her perfect romantic comedy ending.
BEN AND KATE, the heartwarming new sibling comedy created by Dana Fox (“What Happens In Vegas”) and directed by Jake Kasdan (“Bad Teacher”), also debuts Tuesdays this fall. Starring newcomer Dakota Johnson and Nat Faxon (“Bad Teacher,” Academy Award-winning co-screenwriter of “The Descendants”), the comedy follows a pair of odd-couple siblings – one, an overly responsible single mom; the other, an exuberant kid-at-heart – and their friends as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into real life.
The compelling new drama THE MOB DOCTOR will debut this fall. Executive-produced by Josh Berman (BONES, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) and Rob Wright (“Crossing Jordan”), the engrossing character drama stars Jordana Spiro (“My Boys”) as a brilliant, life-saving surgeon caught in a complex web between her promising medical career and her family’s debt to Chicago’s Southside mob.
Edge-of-your-seat thriller THE FOLLOWING, created by Kevin Williamson (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Scream” franchise) and starring Golden Globe Award-winning Kevin Bacon (“X-Men,” “Frost/Nixon”) and James Purefoy (“Rome”), premieres in midseason. The spellbinding and intense drama follows an ex-FBI agent (Bacon) called out of retirement to track down a devious and diabolical serial killer (Purefoy), the mastermind behind a nationwide string of murders.
THE GOODWIN GAMES, the inventive new comedy from the executive producers of “How I Met Your Mother,” Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris, is slated for midseason. Starring Scott Foley (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Felicity”), Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”) and Jake Lacy (“Better With You”), the family comedy tells the story of three estranged siblings who return home after the loss of their beloved father (guest star Beau Bridges, “The Descendants”), and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit more than $20 million – if, and only if, they can adhere to their late father’s trivial wishes.
It was also announced that GLEE, the award-winning cultural phenomenon, will move this fall to Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following all-new installments of Simon Cowell’s THE X FACTOR (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). THE X FACTOR returns for Season Two with two new judges, who will join Cowell and L.A. Reid on the world’s largest search to award one global superstar or music group a $5 million record contract.
FOX series returning in 2012-2013 include: AMERICAN DAD (Season 8), AMERICAN IDOL (Season 12), BOB’S BURGERS (Season 3), BONES (Season 8), THE CLEVELAND SHOW (Season 4), COPS (Season 25), FAMILY GUY (Season 10), FRINGE (Season 5), GLEE (Season 4), HELL’S KITCHEN (Season 10), KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (Season 5), MASTERCHEF (Season 3), MOBBED (specials), NEW GIRL (Season 2), RAISING HOPE (Season 3), THE SIMPSONS (Season 24), SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (Season 9) and TOUCH (Season 2). Desperate Housewives: Kissed Goodbye! Series Finale Thoughts . . .
Posted by Dustin on 05.14.2012 at 1:39 pm
So last night was the big finale of “Desperate Housewives.” Pretty much everything was neatly tied up. There of course were some dangling story lines. I think at the top of my list is Carlos and Gabby’s biological daughter. I guess she’s just permanently on the run somewhere with her parents.
Things looked pretty bad for Bree as the evidence against her was stacking up. Gabby was ready to sacrifice herself for Bree and Carlos, but Carlos nor Bree wouldn’t let her. However before both could stop her, Karen sacrificed herself. As she lay in her hospice bed all the girls took shifts with her. She overheard Gabby and Carlos arguing about what happened. She explained to the court that she knew that Ramon/Alejandro had molested Gabby as a child, and he was attacking her again that night . . . so she killed him with a candlestick. BEcause of her age and advanced disease, no charges were pressed against her.
Tom and Lynette made their way back to one another and agreed to try and work things out. Then Katherine Mayfair came back into town with a job opportunity for Lynette. Katherine had created a frozen food company in France which was booming, now she wanted to bring it to America. She wanted Lynette to head it up, in New York. However she said she was back with Tom and she just couldn’t do that, they just couldn’t move. Tom was of course beaming . . . Tom who has no job at the moment. When he later found out she was talking to Katherine about the job, he of course flipped. He thought she was once again putting her first and blah blah blah . . . I just tuned him out. Seriously, this is the guy who left her and a week later took up with a woman and then another week later they had moved in together. Stop talking Tom, just stop! Seriously, why couldn’t they have killed Tom instead of Mike?
Renee’s wedding was approaching and hit all sorts of snafus. The day of the wedding, Julie’s water broke . . . all over Renee’s dress. Susan and Julie headed to the hospital as Gabby scrambled to get Renee a new dress from her store. Shenanigans ensued of course. But the wedding went off. At the wedding Lynette made a loving toast about not forgetting what is important in a marriage. Her toast, and Julie’s baby, brought her and Tom back together. Meanwhile while the wedding went on, and the guests danced on, Karen sadly passed on.
The show ended with the girls playing poker as Susan was preparing to move away. She’s going to live with Julie and the baby to help her out, so that Julie can finish school. We never heard what became of Porter’s part in the kid’s life, I guess that’s up to our imagination. Susan and the girls promised they’d still get together every now and then and that they’d still play poker . . . but then Mary Alice’s narration told us that would never be.
Tom and Lynette move to New York, where she becomes the CEO of Katherine’s company. They grow old, and have 6 grand kids.
Carlos and Gabby also moved away. Carlos helped Gabby start her own personal shopping business. She later got a show on the home shopping network. They live in California.
Bree married her lawyer Tripp. They moved to Kentucky, where Bree ran for city council and became involved in conservative politics.
The show ended however showing the first woman to leave the lane, Susan. She said hello to the new owner of her house, who was hoping the suburbs wouldn’t be boring. As Susan drove off we saw all the ghosts of the past watching her. Mike, Karen and her son, Rex, The crazy pharmacist, Martha Huber, Alfre Woodard’s character, and eventually the final ghost was Mary Alice. There were a lot more ghosts watching her leave, some I assume were dead people we never knew. Others I remembered their faces, I just couldn’t pin point their stories.
The show ended with a shot of the woman who moved into Susan’s house locking some fancy box up in a cabinet as Mary Alice told us the world would always be filled with desperate people who never think their secrets will come out.
I really liked the end of the show. I hope some fan site out there posts a guide to all the ghosts. Oh and no . . . Eddie Britt was NOT one of them!
