Army Wives: Wait, So Kevin Is The Bad Guy?
Posted by Dustin on 04.30.2012 at 8:59 pm
A lot went down on “Army Wives” last night . . . where to begin?
Claudia Joy is still out of town recovering. However we learned she reached out to Jackie, and they have made peace and agreed to start over when CJ returns. After an incident in a restaurant where her purse tipped over, Denise began to worry about Jackie having a prescription medication addiction. Jackie of course denied any problem, but as the show progressed, she popped more and more pills. We learned everything we apparently knew from Audrey (Susan) was false. Kevin was the hard ass, the workaholic. He put his career first, over their marriage. Jackie had been popping pills to deal with his increasingly demanding career. I am not sure how I feel about this. I don’t think I can bring myself to like Jackie!
Nicole and Charlie were invited by Joan and Roland for dinner. Nicole had always had trouble living out and open, even now that “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” had been abandoned. However after dinner with a very supportive Roland and Joan, she was ready to do so, even proposing to Charlie. Meanwhile, Nicole had been nominated for the Bronze Star. Kevin’s right hand man told him that Nicole was gay, and apparently there is a belief that Kevin is against gays serving in the military. Joan had heard of comments Kevin supposedly made against lifting the ban, which she told to Roland. His assistant must have heard the same thing, and came to Kevin with a plan to basically de-nominate her on a technicality. Kevin however ripped him a new one, saying Nicole was an exemplarily soldier, that she saved many lives, and the U.S. government says he is not to discriminate and he will not. Hurray for Kevin! However we don’t know if he’s doing this because he’s a man who follows regulations, or because of what he believes. What does Kevin believe? I hope this is clarified.
Gloria and Hector got themselves into money troubles. They spent spent spent, and did not think of the consequences. They didn’t even know how to balance a checkbook and make a budget! Roxy and Trevor stepped in to help them out and get them back on track. At the end of the show Roxy also offered Gloria a job at the bar, because she needed help and Gloria had a great report with the cliental.
Tonya faced off with the doctor at the hospital that she kissed in the field. He broke things off, saying he was a major and she was enlisted, there was to be no fraternization between ranks. He had been treating her horribly since they got back, and she avoided him at all costs because of it. When she couldn’t take the treatment anymore, she let him have it verbally . . . he let her have it with a kiss. They soon ended up in bed, but agreed it could never happen again. Yeah, we know it will, and it will lead to trouble!
By the end of the show, the Shhhh hit the fan. Frank had been having nightmares through the whole episode about the orphans they left behind. A news story broke that exactly what the American aid worker told them would happen, happened. The orphan edge was raided, several children killed and others are missing. The worker fled with the smallest she could carry. Now Kevin, who commanded the mission, is under fire. I think we can say that this basically means Kevin’s third star won’t happen and Michael will get it. More pills for Jackie?
Once Upon A Time: August’s Story!
Posted by Dustin on 04.30.2012 at 8:15 pm
On the latest “Once Upon A Time” we finally learned who August the writer is, for real. The show started with Henry realizing that there was a new story added to the book, Pinocchio’s story . . . .
In Fairytale Land, we saw how the Blue Fairy brought Pinocchio to life from a wooden puppet and made him a real boy. We also learned it was her who asked Gepetto to build the cabinet to transport Emma to the new world. We also learned there was space for two people to go, the plan was for Snow and Emma to go through. Gepetto however would not build it unless one spot went to Pinocchio. The Blue Fairy didn’t like this, but this was the deal. Pinocchio would protect Emma, and they would tell everyone there was only a spot for one person to go through, Snow and Charming would never know the truth.
Back in the real world, August felt Emma was too focused on getting Henry back, she had lost site of what her true mission was. He knew Emma was going to Mr. Gold for legal advice to get Henry back, he advised Gold to turn her away. He knew she’d then come to him for help, and he’d put her back on the path. When that happened, he took her out to the woods and to a roadside cafe, to tell her their story. He told her that he was the little boy who found her. He told her that he came from the same world she did, they were both transported through a magic wardrobe and ended up in this hollowed out tree in the forest. He said he stayed with her in a foster home for awhile, but when it seemed clear the only kid the family cared about was Baby Emma, he and some others ran off. August says he left, he went far away, he began to forget everything until the pains started. The pains started at the exact moment Emma decided to stay in Storybook, the exact moment time began to pass again on the clock. August said he was reminded how far he had strayed from his promise to look after her. He then began making his way back as well. Emma basically thought he was insane, she can’t believe he thinks he’s a fairytale character. August knew how to prove it, he showed her his leg, which had turned back to wood. However Emma saw nothing but a regular leg. August believed it was because she was in such deep denial . . . .
So I’m having an issue with all of this. We have been told in the past few episodes that our world is a world without magic. If this is the case, how is he turning back into a wooden puppet? Emma didn’t see his leg . . . so is this just August’s own guilt eating at him? Is he the one seeing things?
Henry lashed out at Regina when she wanted to pull him out of Mary Margaret’s class. Mary Margaret also had her own speech to Regina, claiming she felt sorry for her because her anger and revenge schemes won’t make her truly happy. Regina then set her sights on David/Charming. She decided to try and seduce him and win him away from Mary Margaret to make her pay, and show Henry that Snow and Charming would not get their happy ever after. It didn’t work, David didn’t go there . . .
The end of the show had Emma picking up Henry and deciding to just flee Storybrook with him. They would start life over somewhere else . . .
There is only one episode left before the finale. Supposedly there is a shocking death in the finale, one that might not be so permanent. The previews show Emma holding a sword to Regina’s throat. Will Regina die? We also have the return of the Huntsman, Belle and Maleficent to look forward to! It’s gonna get insane . . . and we still don’t know who or where Rumple’s son is.
The Secret Circle: Amazing Twist!
Posted by Dustin on 04.27.2012 at 8:01 pm
Last night had an amazing twist on “The Secret Circle.” Just like “Ringer,” I REALLY hope the CW renews this show!
I’m absolutely heart broken that the show killed off Jane, and in the way they did. It definitely makes you realize Blackwell isn’t a good guy. Sure he hated Jane, but he could have saved her if he really wanted. Then again, they were about to kill him. However Jane was going to spare him when she realized he didn’t kill Amelia, and it was Charles who torched him (but really Jane because Blackwell reversed the spell) in order to save his own ass . . . he clearly didn’t want it known he killed Amelia!
The circle has been gathering all the crystals . . . but for what purpose? Blackwell has them thinking it’s the only way to kill the witch hunters, but Charles and Dawn seem to think that Blackwell is only using the new circle like he used theirs. Dawn has still been trying to get her powers back, but Charles was finally out. After finding out that Blackwell was Diana’s biological father, he planned to take her far away. Dawn thought that still wouldn’t keep her safe, they were still a bound circle! She said John Blackwell would find him.
The circle cornered the “traitor” at some amusement park, where he had killed many of the witch hunters. Cassie and Diana chased him down, while the others found his hide out. Jake noted that the traitor had a photo of his parents . . . why? As Cassie and Diana cornered the traitor they realized it was Nick!
So the big question is, is Nick really alive? HE was not killed in the books, this was a “twist” for the show, and the writers made it sound like it was for real when it happened. Is Nick just a zombie, someone being controlled by Eban?
Also in this episode Adam began to have feelings for Cassie once again. This could eventually undo all Blackwell has done!

A bunch of spoilers below for ABC’s shows in May, including season finales and series finales in the case of “Desperate Housewives.”
Both “Once Upon A Time” and “Grey’s Anatomy” are said to having shocking deaths in their season finales. In the case of “Grey’s” it’s not only a major character, but a permanent death. I’m going to guess it will be Adele.
On “Castle” Beckett gets close to learning who shot her, while Castle realizes he may have to come clean with her about his own deception.
On “Private Practice” Amelia goes into labor on the season finale, while Addison must once again make a difficult choice.
On “Revenge” and explosive finale leaves many lives in the balance!

Private Practice: Poor Amelia! Plus The Show Scores With Big Ratings!
Posted by Dustin on 04.25.2012 at 8:15 pm
So on last night’s “Private Practice” we learned what is wrong with Amelia’s baby. Oh they made us wait to learn it too. The baby doesn’t have a brain! No brain at all! What . . . a . . . horrid situation! I don’t understand why she’s still carrying it? Was this found out too far along and now she can do nothing because it’s against the law? I feel so bad for Amelia! She is also taking her anger out on Addison, who now has her new son Henry (this show was taking place 5 weeks after the last episode). She can’t look at Addison or deal with the fact that she has this perfect baby she waited so long for. Amelia has been staying with Sam. I get that Amelia was hurting, but Addison had been hurting for so long as well. This didn’t come easy for her. I didn’t feel like Amelia was being fair, but she herself admitted this sort of.
Sheldon was MIA. He’s supposedly in the Bahamas with his ex-wife . . . oh no! She apparently left her new husband to be at the alter, and she and Sheldon took the already paid for honeymoon. You know this probably means he’ll return re-married, or at least involved with his ex again.
Violet and Pete went to marriage counseling, and the moment they started making some progress (I.E. stopped being nice in sessions and started fighting), Pete called it quits. He just knew he loved Violet and wanted things to work, but he didn’t need this. Really Pete? Violet, please kick him to the curb. As she told him at one point, he can’t even explain why he left her in the first place. Kick him HARD!
Sam and Jake learned that they both kissed Addison on the same day, and that they don’t who Addison wants anymore. Addison is content with Henry, the man she’s always wanted. Sam and Jake are now bonding over their issues with Addison. Let me roll my eyes here. Really, Sam only wanted Addison back when he thought she gave up on the kid thing. I’m shocked he still wants her back to be honest. I think it’s more out of spite now that he knows Jake is into her.
The show seems to have done very well for ABC last night. The network promoted this in a press release today. For those worried how the show will fare on its new night, it seems to have rebounded from last week. The show “scored season-best retention for ABC in the hour coming out of a “DWTS Results Show.” Last night’s episode also “produced its most-watched telecast in more than 1-1/2 years – since 11/4/10.”
9021: Oh Look Whose Sleeping With Who!
Posted by Dustin on 04.25.2012 at 7:56 pm
“90210” finally returned last night, and now we only have two new episodes left this season. These week to month long hiatuses are getting really old!
I have to say, with the annoying blonde who was sucking the fun out of Liam gone, and the ever annoying Dixon gone, I like the show a lot more!
Annie finally told Naomi the truth about P.J., and she was not sure what he was marrying her for. The money or love? She finally dumped him at the end, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. The previews hinted the return of Jen who was getting married, and Naomi was shocked to see who too. I’m guessing P.J. I’m also guessing this may set up a storyline for her to have an affair with her sister’s brand new husband?
Annie felt like a dirty sinner for having feelings for Caleb, the wanna-be-priest. When she finally told him though, he kissed her . . . HARD! I actually like these two together! But a comment Annie made about her and Liam made me think she’s still partially hung up on him.
Caleb was worried about Ivy’s reckless surfing habits and felt she was a danger to herself. The end of the show had Social Services and the police showing up, on a tip from Caleb, that Ivy was a danger to herself. They took her into custody. Wait . . . what? Isn’t Ivy an adult? I didn’t think perfect strangers could have you committed, I thought family had to sign the papers. I thought social services was for KIDS.
Austin the Cowboy returned, and he and Adrianna clicked. He decided to take advantage of Dixon being missing and swoop in to help Adrianna with her career. I think he smelled cash more than anything. But Navid felt he was moving on on Dixon’s girl. Or was it really his girl? Why do I feel Navid suddenly has feelings for Adrianna again?
Navid was also struggling with his feelings for Silver, and her for him. They both feel like they should be together, but it doesn’t seem like it is meant to be. Liam likes Silver, they showed as much when they slept together. He also challenged her at the end of the show, did she really want Navid? They ended up in a kiss. I think Silver will end up with Liam, and Navid will end up fighting Dixon for Silver Adrianna. As for Austin . . . well he still seems to be into Naomi!
Once Upon A Time: The Writer Is Revealed?
Posted by Dustin on 04.23.2012 at 8:15 pm
So based on the end of this show, and the previews for next week, we seem to finally have solved the mystery as to who the writer is.
In the Fairytale world, Rumplestiltskin reunited with his son Bae. Bae vows to he find a way to reverse the curse on his father, if he could give up his powers that is. Bae wanted his father back, and Rumple agreed. Bae gets a “magic bean” from a fairy, but the bean will take them to another world, one where Rumple’s powers won’t work. The bean opens up a vortex, we can only guess to Storybrook. Bae is sucked in when Rumple chickens out and won’t go through. However he promises to find a way to find his son . . . We can only guess that this is how he suckered Regina into the curse?
In the real world, August gets Henry to help him to distract Gold so he can get into his shop and look around. Gold meanwhile begins to wonder who August really is. The two end up facing off, and August claims to be his missing son. Gold almost believed him, until August got the dagger and tried to use it to control him and his power. He knew August was a fake, his son would know the dagger wouldn’t work that way. However he realized August must be from over there if he knew so much. August revealed he was dying, and he didn’t have much time left. He had hoped Emma would reverse this curse, but she hasn’t yet. He was desperate, only magic can save him now basically, which means a return to the other side.
Kathryn gave a statement that she was trapped in some basement and finally managed to escape. Emma was certain Regina was behind this. She was going to nail her and finally get Henry back. She wanted to protect Henry from Regina. However in the end, love struck Sydney threw himself under the bus for Regina. He said he did it, it was all to get an amazing story for the paper. Emma, however, wasn’t buying it. Meanwhile David and Kathryn basically knew they were over, it wasn’t meant to be. However Mary Margaret was not ready to forgive David for his lack of faith in her.
The show previews for next week show it will be the storyline of Pinocchio. I think we can assume safely that this is who August really is. He was the boy who found Emma on the outskirts of town and got her to safety. He was able to grow up, living outside of town. However clearly whatever plagued him in the Fairytale land is killing him in this world. There have been many clues he’s Pinocchio mind you. He once claimed he didn’t lie, but clearly he’s a great liar. His illness, he once mentioned had to do with shin splits I believe. His paper weight is also a donkey. Also we’ve seen Gipetto in Storybrook, but not his son. Some thought Dr. Whale might be his son all grown up, but now we have to wonder who Whale really is?
A Smorgasbord Of Show Thoughts!
Posted by Dustin on 04.21.2012 at 7:43 pm
I have fallen so behind because of other things, so this is a giant post of quick thoughts on many shows!
On the latest “Grimm” we learned a whole lot about what is going on. The Grimm had, supposedly, been working with a class of purist “royal” monsters that the police Chief apparently seems to be a part of. While this class had traditionally been only in Europe, they’ve clearly branched out. It seems they are dedicated to not only causing problems in the world, but keeping the humans and the monsters separate. An underground revolution movement is in place, but Nick was warned in this episode a war was coming that would forever tip the balance. What we still don’t know is which side the captain is on! He seems to be playing both sides at the moment? I am hoping he is on the side of good, maybe I’m hoping too much?
On “Smash,” Ivy weaseled her way back into the play, hoping to take over from Uma Thurman’s clearly flop of a character. However by the end of the latest episode, the “star” shone! Which of course makes Ivy’s job of getting the role back a little more difficult. Just an episode ago, I thought Ivy and Karen were getting along so well. Now she’s back to being a royal diva b….. Oh and Tom got dumped by his republican boyfriend because he had gaga eyes for Ivy’s gay “straight” bff. Other thoughts . . . What is Nick’s secret? (The guy Eileen likes). And will Dev cheat on Karen with that co-worker?
I am still watching “Awake” believe it or not. At this point I’m starting to wonder . . . is this all in his head? Is he laying in a coma somewhere, the real victim of the car accident? How will this all end?
“The Client List” is only 2 episodes in, but I am liking it. I see it’s moving to a one client only focused episode, where Melinda . . . I mean, what’s her name, helps some ghost . . . I mean lonely man solve the problem haunting him.
I absolutely LOVED the disco episode of “Glee.” OMG, Unique! Unique needs to join the Glee club at McKinley high for next season. So far Unique has been the best one yet from the “Project Glee” characters.
Finally I watched the first three episodes of “The Big C” online for the season. I was shocked that Paul lived, but happy. For the first several minutes of the premier I was sure Paul was a ghost, but he’s not. He’s real. Then there is Andrea, who has changed her name to Ababoo. I love her so much! However I am getting this feeling she’s now in love with Shawn . . . not good!
Grey’s Anatomy: Flying Away . . .
Posted by Dustin on 04.21.2012 at 6:36 pm
This week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” seemed to set up the show for seasons to come, and how the show will look will depend on which actors stay and with actors go.
But before we get there . . . the two major story lines going on involved Bailey and The Chief this week. A teenage girl was brought into the hospital, she had escaped captivity and had been missing for years. Bailey remembered the case, and it shook her up. It’s every parent’s worse nightmare. When Tuck seemingly went missing from daycare, she freaked. However another worker had only taken him to get fixed up as he had a nose bleed. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, for there to be some deep dark secret in Bailey’s past.
The other major storyline was The Chief finding out that Adele had been unfaithful in the home she was in. Both she and another patient had taken up with one another. Adele had no memory of her husband, all she could remember was this new guy, and that they were in love. I felt so bad for The Chief! I mean what is he supposed to do? This clearly paves the way for him and Avery’s mom Catherine (whom I love!), and Adele was probably busy with movies and “The Client List” at the time, so she’s not out of work. But what a horrible position to be in. I mean, The Chief can’t truley move on without pulling a “Pat Robertson” and divorcing Adele. Either that, or he waits for her to die, which is a double heartbreak as he has to also watch her move on with someone else. This storyline sucks! But it does make you think.
Finally the residents were all preparing interviews with other hospitals for their post-boards careers. Arizona was not keen on losing Alex, as he was her best intern ever. Teddy was on the same boat with Christina. She railed at Owen that Christina was brilliant and would have her pick of the top schools, and he needed to fix things and give her a reason to stay here. Derek however was the one who pushed Meredith to pursue her first choice in Boston, saying he would be okay moving for her.
Clearly we are setting up things for the finale. Who will stay? Who will go? I’m already betting the finale will feature everyone with their offers, and we won’t know till next season what happens. A lot will hinge on the original cast agreeing to renew their contracts. Also there is the spoiler out there . . . that was hinted in this episode . . . . 1 in 5 fail their boards!
