Once Upon A Time: Rumplestiltskin and The Stranger!
Posted by Dustin on 01.16.2012 at 3:32 pm
So here are my quick thoughts on the last two episodes of “Once Upon A Time.”
It seems our poor sheriff really is dead, with Emma stepping into his shoes after some help from Mr. Gold. I really enjoyed seeing how he went from an ordinary/cowardly man to Rumple. I eventually figured out though that the old beggar putting him up to getting the dagger and talking the power from the tyrant was really the enslaved dark one trying to free himself.
I do wonder what became of Rumple’s son? Is he dead? Is he somewhere in the real world and lost? That will have to come back at some point. The way Rumple/Gold kept talking to Emma about her own son and how time with them is precious, it seemed as if the son died . . . or was at least lost to him. Perhaps he left his father after seeing what he became?
In this latest episode Emma helped Hansel and Gretel find their lost dad in the real world, and we saw them helping the queen in the fairy tale world in order to be reunited with their dad there. She sent them to gain something from the blind witch who liked to eat children, it was the apple! She claimed it was a weapon against her enemy.
Basically this story set up Emma’s own parental issues, as well as Henry’s. Henry asked about Emma about his own father. She claimed he was a fire fighter and died a hero, but really he was a no good jerk who Emma felt Henry was better without. You KNOW that will come back to bite her in the butt. I can see Regina using this later down the line. We also learned that Regina’s adoption of Henry (with Gold’s help) apparently isn’t legal. So I think that means she’s going to need his father’s help at some point to keep him from Emma. We also had Emma finally tell Mary/Snow that Henry believes she is her and David/Charmings kid. Mary laughed it off, but was later drawn to Emma’s baby blanket.
The very end of the show had a stranger pull into town, which Henry said never happened. Who is he? What does he want? He can’t be Henry’s dad, as Emma would know him.
Grimm and Parenthood: Thoughts and Spoilers
Posted by Dustin on 01.16.2012 at 12:32 pm
So I really enjoyed the last “Parenthood,” I think because we got a lot of Joel and Julia time. Joel always gets the shaft on this show in terms of air time. Even though Zoe dumped her boyfriend and got him to sign the adoption papers, I still feel something will happen and Joel and Julia aren’t getting that baby.
Crosby was doing so well and growing up, then this episode happened. When Adam got the spotlight in the paper during an interview, he pouted like a little baby. Grrrrr! Minus points for Crosby!
Finally I just felt like this entire episode was foreshadowing Mark and Sarah’s eventual break-up. She was freaking out over him not bringing up the baby thing, he was freaking out over her pushing him to get to know her brothers during their monthly poker game, and her brothers felt they’d be left with a vacancy in their game when this relationship went south. They finally, at the very end, got to the baby topic, but both were too drunk and Mark wanted to table it until the next morning . . . .
Onto “Grimm,” which I also really enjoyed. I liked seeing Nick working with his Aunt’s trailer a lot more, as well as Monroe being pulled into the trailer when Nick was out of commission after being beaten by an ogre. You could see his mind exploding being around all the ancient Grimm weapons.
Nick’s partner Hank seems to be catching on that something isn’t right with Nick. We know the captain already knows the truth. I have to wondering if he’s going to try and steer Hank towards the truth, or away from it?
Spoilers for the next two episodes of each show are below . . . .

Vacation Time Of The Year! Plus Glee News!
Posted by Dustin on 01.07.2012 at 10:36 am
It’s that time of year for me again, when I go on my week long vacation, which always seems to coincide with the return of shows from hiatus. I’m really peeved I’m going to miss “Once Upon A Time” more than anything else! I don’t expect to have access to the current shows, but I’ll be checking in and passing on any news or info over the week.
Of note, “Glee” returns the 17th with the big proposal episode. The week after, the 24th, will be the Michael Jackson tribute episode. The cast was just tweeting the past few days that Ricky Martin is on set filming his guest stint as a Spanish Teacher. I’m still not sure how this fits in? Perhaps he fills in for Shue, who may be on his honeymoon?
Grey’s Anatomy: Goodbye Henry, Hello Zola!
Posted by Dustin on 01.06.2012 at 2:19 pm
The storyline with the family whose car wrecked into the ambulance was so depressing! That poor girl who had to watch her grandma, then mother die, and then her father kept coding in the OR and it was not looking good for him. Meredith had to give their oldest daughter, still a teenager, the truth about her dad . . . . and the girl told her to stop saving her dad. Meredith said she was a child, it wasn’t her call. The girl said she just turned 18 years old 4 hours ago . . . she was now the head of this family (her brother and sister were in surgery too). Heart BREAKING! Meredith took him off the machines with the daughter by his side.
Teddy was still in surgery and requested Christina to come aid her, and Christina had to basically keep her cool and not let Teddy know that Henry was dead. Ugh! I felt so bad for them both. Eventually after they finished with Teddy’s patient, Christina had to tell Teddy the truth. Horrible, it should have been anyone else! Owen is going to be in the doghouse with Christina I bet for this. I worry that Teddy will punish Christina somehow and blame her for his death, even if there was nothing to be done to save him.
The tension between Little Grey and McSteamy and his new gal was clear, but it seemed only Derek picked up on it all. Or he picked up on the fact that Little Grey still had feelings for Mark, which Mark seems to be oblivious too. Then Lexie realized Mark’s new gal is actually pretty great, which made things worse for her. I wonder how long they’ll continue to drag their reconciliation out?
The mistake Avery made with a patient in the last episode, Callie covered his ass and took the blame for him. He didn’t want her to, but she did anyways as she said he was young and she was his attending and it was her place to do this. I have a feeling that this will NOT play out well, that a lawsuit will be coming to Callie soon for malpractice.
The final few minutes at least brought some happiness. Derek and Meredith learned they got Zola back. Yay! That was needed because this was one downer of an episode.
Private Practice: Let’s Just Kill Off Pete Shall We?
Posted by Dustin on 01.06.2012 at 2:02 pm
With every episode that passes, I seem to just find this show making me more angry than anything else, and I wonder why I bother to watch? I totally miss Nadine Naomi at this point and wish they could get her and Fife back!
Addison clearly wasn’t pregnant, and is now moving on to try and adopt. So instead of watching one failed attempt to get pregnant after another, we probably have to watch one failed attempt to adopt after another. I can’t take it! At the end at least her and Sam finally broke up. Thank the lord, and I hope they don’t get back together! Though personally I don’t think I am going to be to found of her and Jake as the previews hinted was coming. Well we all knew it was coming without the need for those previews really.
Pete’s balls became enormous in this episode, and I waited for Violet to kick him in them. They have been trading days at and away from the house for the sake of the kid, so he didn’t get moved around and had a stable routine . . . but it wasn’t working. Violet eventually told Pete he should look for a place of his own, and he acted annoyed by the inconvenience! Dude gave up on his marriage and still had the nerve to feel annoyed that Violet didn’t want him to stay in HER house. He eventually did admit it was her house and only right he go, but he still had attitude. Get the hell out of the house and their lives at this point you loser! Seriously, give Pete another heart attack and bury him at this point. His character has been ruined.
I think at this point the only story lines I watch for are Charlotte, Cooper and Mason; as well as Sheldon and Amelia.
I’m still a bit peeved they killed of Ryan, they could have kept him around. But I guess they need a way to put Sheldon and Amelia together, which is what they hinted at in this episode. Sheldon was still very hurt by what Amelia said to him while on drugs, and she was desperate to find a way to gain his forgiviness.
Meanwhile they’ve set the groundwork I feel for Mason to end up with Cooper. Cooper caught him stealing and worried it mean there was something going on with his mom, though the other doctors were just like “he’s a kid and stole something, happens all the time.” I’ve always expected the mom to kick the bucket and Charlotte would have to step up and be the mom she never really wanted to be.

So it’s been awhile since I blogged about “Revenge.” I missed much of the last two episodes before the hiatus, and never did fully catch up. I read some of the summaries online. It seems I hadn’t missed too much and it was easy to get back into the swing of things.
This latest episode really just served to get rid of the crazy Tyler , who Emily completely set up to go down for Frank’s murder. It was fairly easy to do once everyone realized he was mentally unstable. Though before he was carted off by the cops and his brother, he confronted Emily and the Graysons at Daniel’s birthday clam bake on the beach. He revealed he knew the truth about how they framed David Clarke. Uh oh! The real Emily was also present, still pretending to be Amanda Clarke. She’s getting a little too close to Jack for Emily’s tastes, but Emily seems to have truly fallen for Daniel. “Amanda” mentioned to Jack near the end of the show if he thinks there was any truth to what Tyler was saying about “her dad.” I have a feeling something bad will eventually befall “Amanda” as the Graysons clearly don’t like having her back in town. Emily I doubt is too keen on it, but I could see Emily betraying her and feeding her to the dogs when the time is right.
The Graysons were involved in a nasty divorce, with the wife Victoria trying to have the pre-nup declared null because she was pregnant at the time and under duress when she signed it. That was a lie, but they have a doctor they’ve paid off to say it was the truth. The previews seem to have her and Daniel scheming to take controlling interest in Grayson Global. Daniel gets his inheritance when he marries, so they are scheming to have him marry Emily. Very interesting! This whole time we have thought that the marriage was part of Emily’s plan to get back at the Graysons, when in fact they seem to be using her for what they want.
