Desperate Housewives: I Know What You Did Last Summer!
It’s been a few days since “Desperate Housewives,” so I’m going of memories with this post.
Bree got “the note” in her mailbox, visited Paul about its odd coincidence to Mary Alice and spent the episode pondering who sent it. Half way through, I suspected Chuck, and the final moments seemed to seal the deal. Paul called her saying he had talked about the note to the detectives on the case, one of who appears to be Chuck. Too easy? Probably! But then again, this show likes to take the obvious and easy way out . . .they just try and confuse you along the ride and make you say “That’s too easy, let’s think of something more complicated it will turn out to be!” So if it seems like Chuck, and smells like Chuck . . . it will probably be Chuck!
Susan was unfortunately back to being Susan and doing stupid and cringeworthy things. At least this time they made sense. Her guilt was making her want to be caught, to be punished. It also drew her closer to Carlos, who understands her. Cue Mike’s suspicions!
After loathing Lynette in the last episode, the show did a 180 and had me hating Tom. It’s rare that I ever side with Lynette against Tom, but the man was a total ass in this episode. Lynette tried to “test” him as he put it and make him play the role of a parent, the bad guy for once, and to stand up and tell their kids no for once. He couldn’t, and their son . . . the one who still lives at home (Parker? Preston? Porter? I never keep their names straight) went to a party and got puking drunk. At the very end they realized they had to get along for their kids’ sake, but before that Tom was a total ass. I’m kinda leaning towards “this marriage shouldn’t even try to be saved” at this point . . . shocking I know! They’ve always been “the happy couple” of the show, but clearly they have just as many problems and in many ways are way more dysfunctional than the others.
Gabby provides some of the comic relief in this episode, hiring a bedroom pole dancer to help spice up her marriage. I loved her line in the bedroom when she tried to distract Carlos after he learned she told the pole dancer about his . . . pole problems. She said “OMG Make out with me, quick!” Renee meanwhile opened up to her neighbor Ben about her vulnerable past, after first trying to con her way into his bed. I have a feeling old Ben is too good to be true, which started to come out when he hired Mike for a real estate project, but on the side, as he couldn’t be seen hiring someone with Mike’s record. Shady!
I’m missing Lee and Bob! Fortunately the official spoilers have them back next week I believe 🙂
