True Blood: Giving Up The Ghost!

True Blood: Giving Up The Ghost!

So there is only one more episode of “True Blood” left in the season. Horrors! I can’t believe it’s over for another year . . . .

Most of the episode dealt with the vampires showdown with Antonia/Marnie and attempting to save “F’ing Sookie” as they all put it. Hilarious! Jason putting them all in their place was also good.

Pam defied Bill and Eric, who were going to sacrifice themselves to allow Sookie to be let go. She tried to blow up the whole building, which failed. Eric was furios with her and basically told her that he never wanted to see her again. Poor Pam! This of course means she’s probably going to blame Sookie and want revenge . . . .

Marnie/Antonia foresaw her own death, which came at Bill’s hands. Jesus brought out the demon inside of him to part Antonia and Marnie for good, which brought down the forcefield they had set up. Antonia departed when she could, basically leaving Marnie with now power. Eric ripping the one guy witch’s heart out and drinking from it via one of the vessels (using it as a straw) grossed me out to no end!

The previews of course show that Marnie is far from gone. At the very end she took control of Lafayette, and next week Lafayette is going all crazy in his MooMoo. Now I guess we know why they had to finish up the other ghost story as soon as they did. Something tells me Jesus is going to call out the demon again to save Lafeyette, but may not make it to season 5 . . . .

Elsewhere Andy met a Fairy in the woods and had sex with her. When he told Arlene, she convinced him it was just withdrawals. What was that about? Something tells me she’ll show up next season with a little Andy!

Marcus took Luna’s kid and went to have “special adult time” with Debbie. Alcide, Luna and Sam showed up and Sam beat the tar out of Marcus. He didn’t, however kill him. However when Marcus went to shoot Sam in the back, Alcide took care of Marcus . . . which I guess now makes him Alpha and pack leader? He then cast Debbie out . . . finally! Like Pam, she’ll blame Sookie and want revenge . . . . I am happy to see Sam happy for once at the end of a season. Well I guess we aren’t there yet, so anything could happen next week.

  1. Okay, that was pretty stomach-churning when Eric sucked on Ron’s heart’s vena cava (or pulmonary artery?).

I couldn’t believe that both Bill and Eric would die for Sookie – that was weird and isn’t it very un-vampire like to die for a human? I felt a bit like the writing was getting a bit cheesy at that point. I really hope it’s explained by Sookie’s fairy blood causing vampires to have some overwhelming attachment to her. I like Sookie, but I was pleased when Pam stepped in and stopped Bill and Eric. I suppose Bill and Eric might have had a plan where they just pretended to die (assuming Marnie didn’t know that vampires pretty much turned to goo when they met their true death).

LaFayette really has to learn to keep his mouth shut when he sees ghosts! I don’t know why I didn’t foresee Marnie entering LaFayette – I should have.

Loved the Sam/Marcus/Alcide story line this week. I wasn’t sure how Luna felt about Marcus dying. She looked conflicted. I learned a new word too – “abjure”, as in when Alcide told Debbie “I abjure you”. Guess she’s going to have to find some new “bitches” to hang with.

Do you think that Marcus and Debbie got it on? As first I assumed she did, but then she told Alcide she didn’t (but she could have been lying). If she didn’t, it was pretty weird to be chatting with Marcus in her panties (and with his daughter downstairs).

At least Andy got some – don’t think that’s happened since Maryanne’s parties in season 2.

  2. I thought too that Bill and Eric were faking, that maybe they were hoping Sookie would get pissed and Fairy Marnie to pieces – she really need to learn how to control that power at this point.

I assumed Marcus and Debbie “did it” because of their talk after – it sure seemed like they had. Though I’m shocked True Blood wasted the opportunity to get Marcus naked. He looks pretty ripped, even if he has unfortunate hair.

  3. Maybe the actor that plays Marcus wouldn’t sign off to be naked? Anyway, I don’t know if they did at that point, but I just assumed that they had been having an affair and that they had been having sex.

  4. Yes, unfortunate hair that Marcus… 🙂

So is everything with baby Mikey cool now? Was he never evil? I figure it was Maeve the ghost who wrote “Not your baby” on the wall and started the fire, but what about Arlene’s blotchy eye when the baby stared at her? Plus, Mikey was able to see Maeve, so is he a medium too?

Not sure about the timeline of Marcus and Debbie’s romance. Didn’t the last several episodes’ timelines only cover a few days? Fast work, those wolves.
