V Season 2: Vs Are Of Peace, Always!

V Season 2: Vs Are Of Peace, Always!

“V’s” second season premiered last night. I missed the marathon the night before, so it took me awhile to remember what had happened in the last season finale.

Ryan managed to escape the ship and Anna’s bliss, but not without his hybrid daughter. Anna was keeping her for study. Val it seems is in fact very dead, but I hope somehow she’s really not and will be back later on in the season. I’d think she’d be too valuable to let die.

Chad contacted Father Jack to try and join the 5th Column and prove he was no longer Anna’s whipping boy. He revealed to Father Jack that the live-aboards are being tested on at night. To prove himself to Jack and his friends, Chad says he’s going to air the story. Why do I see Chad suddenly going missing? Personally I think he’s the weakest character on this show, so I wouldn’t mind if he was kidnapped for awhile . . .

Erica began to learn why Anna was so interested in Tyler. After meeting a scientist who had discovered visitor skeletons at a site that was fifty years old, and running tests on human skeletons also found there, it appears that the V’s had not only been on earth for awhile, but were experimenting on humans . . . for the purpose of breeding. I do believe I suggested this last season, and it seems I was right. The V’s aren’t here for food as in the original, but perhaps to breed with humans. Because their species is dying? We don’t know why that want to breed with us yet.

Humanity was on alert after Anna, upset over the destruction of her hatchery, released Red Sky. Of course she quickly claimed it was yet another gift, meant to restore earth’s ozone layer and environments. She said it would dissipate in days, but reverse a hundred years of damage.

There were several interesting revelations. First, Anna has a tail! We also finally got a glimpse of what the V’s looks like when Anna ripped half a human skin off one. Erica realized that the V’s had experimented on her when she was pregnant with Tyler, which is why he is so special to Anna. Anna’s daughter (whose name I can’t recall right now!) found Joshua, who has no memory of what had happened to him . . . and possibly that he is part of the 5th column? Uh oh! Of course the best part was when Anna went to see her mother Diana, who is imprisoned somewhere within a ship. For a prisoner, she sure had a nice dress and high heels on when she appeared!

Things not yet revealed, what is going on with Hobbs. The way the season ended last year, his devotion to the 5th Column seemed uncertain. Also Anna’s right hand man, what is he up to. He is the one who saved Joshua, so obviously he has plans. I’m thinking that he might be interested in Diana.

  1. I was pretty impressed at last night’s episode! I have a feeling that Marcus and Lisa (Anna’s right hand man and daughter) are 5th Column, but have to keep up appearances as well so Anna doesn’t get suspicious. I’m definitely curious about Hobbs’ intentions, he seems a bit suspicious.

Anna’s tail is pretty awesome and I liked seeing what the Visitors looked like under the human skin. Morena Baccarin does such a great non-human villain, she was great as the Orici in the last seasons of Stargate SG-1 too.

I haven’t heard how many episode we’re getting this season, but I hope it’s more than last season.

  2. Lisa is kinda 5th Column without fully being a willing member, she just I think knows more of her mom’s plans then she likes. Remember she gave Erica the Blue Energy Gerande that killed most of the eggs.

I still believe that Marcus is working his own angle. I do not believe he is loyal to either Anna or the 5th Column. That would really explain his obession with Hobbes.

The fact that at the end of last season we saw that Joshua was being saved by Marcus, and now Anna knows that Marcus is alive kinda surprizes me.

Joshua still calling and referring to Lisa as a Queen. It interested me because I think that there is still a bit of the man who pleged his alligence to her. And that could cause problems for Lisa.

I really liked the homage to the orginal series with Diana emerging from the pod in that hot red dress. That was a slight nod of homage to the orginal series in that Diana always favored red.
