Spoiler blurbs for the first 3 episodes of “V” season 2!

“Red Rain” – “V” will make its highly-anticipated Season Two premiere, TUESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. The Season Two opener, “Red Rain,” continues the action from last season’s finale when Anna unleashed Red Sky on the planet. With the world on the brink of war and chaos all around, is there anyone who can stand up to Anna? Meanwhile, Ryan has been kept in isolation on the mothership, away from his hybrid baby so that Anna can experiment on her; Chad, seeking redemption for being used by Anna, now wants to fight with the Fifth Column; and Erica goes on a journey to find a scientist who can give her the answers to what Red Sky is, and where she learns the horrifying secret of what the V’s are doing on our planet.

“Serpent’s Tooth” – Anna and Diana square off in the dark bowels of the Mothership – Diana has been down there for 15 years and not had a single glimpse of Anna. Meanwhile, Erica has Tyler’s blood analyzed, and learns the V’s did something sinister to her when she was pregnant with him, on “V,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 11 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

“Laid Bare” – Erica learns her partner, Malik, is a Visitor and must fight for her life – literally – to stop Anna from finding out she’s Fifth Column. Meanwhile, Anna learns that Malik is missing and orders Ryan to find her, while Lisa realizes her body is beginning to change, causing her to become more and more like her mother, on “V,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 18 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

  1. Excellent! I’m excited for the new season. It would only be better if FlashForward were coming back, too!

  2. The bad news is that these three episodes consist of what will be almost a full third of the entire season (all of which is, as they say, “in the can,” meaning no changes can be made if the audience hold where it was at the end of season 1, when it picked up viewers for the last three episodes).

The good news (if you believe in dreams, as well as sci-fi and fantasy) is that, after cutting the season’s order from 13 to ten episodes, the network might have a deal for a two-part mini-series, in which the story can be effectively concluded. News reports have already noted that the final episode of the season will introduce a “supergroup” of high level folks from throughout the world’s governments who have known for some time that the Visitors are up to little good; such a setup would be perfect for a bringing us a new “Final Battle.” If the ratings remain decent, though, these developments could help in building a nice cliffhanger to season three.

ABC has a long history of leaving SciFi fans with unsatisfying conclusions or, as is more often the case, no conclusion at all. With V, it seems, they don’t want to risk alienating SciFi fans. The fact that it was picked up at all was a miracle that suggests internal support for the show. When they added to the show’s budget and brought in Badler, I realized they aren’t going to abandon V. I hope I’m right.
