Desperate Housewives: Paul’s Plan!
So last night, though his wife was missing from air, Paul’s plan was fully revealed. He’s bought up houses in the neighborhood to have a voting share, which allows him to basically turn one of the homes into a halfway house for recently released convicts. I guess we’ll have to ignore the fact that this would require so many legal ordinances with the city, and various trained social workers/personel onboard. Paul needs one more house for the controlling vote, and is now pressuring some of the older or more financially strapped people to sell now . . . before their house values plummet.
This whole story basically set up next week’s big mid-season finale, where during a protest outside of the planned halfway house, a riot breaks out, and Susan is gravely injured. Of course if the halfway house sees completion, the real twist in this story should be Felicia getting paroled early for good behavior and ending up living in it as a condition for her parole! Hey, it’s TV after all.
Gabby hatched a horrible plot to have the INS pick up Grace’s mom, so she could keep both Grace and Juanita. Fortunately she didn’t go through with it, as that would have made her the most horrible woman on the show. Bob had one of the best lines when he told her that if some hypothetical person did call the INS, that hypothetical person would also be burning in hypothetical hell! In the end though, she lost Grace, who left for Texas with her mother. I am betting she’ll be back though, as Grace’s mom will think hard about Gabby’s offer to “watch” her so she’s not dragging her all over creation while on the run.
Bree continued to feel bad for Keith’s dad, who seemed to be in a deep depression over his impending divorce. She unfortunately kept inviting him out with them, and his being a third wheel ruined Keith’s planned proposal to Bree. Not only is the cat out of the bag (he refused to ask her because this wasn’t the way he planned to), but now Keith’s dad knows his plans. Daddy likes Bree way too much, and next week makes a play for her. It looks like Keith ends up attacking his dad. Why am I seeing him going back to jail for a stint, and Keith’s dad moving in on Bree even more?
Finally Susan and Renee bonded, as Renee has been unable to get over the one man she felt was the right one for her. Of course it turned out this man was Tom, and now Susan is stuck in the middle of a bizzarre love triangle. Meanwhile Tom and Lynette had it out as he’s tired of the fact she never sticks up for him or brags about him. We learned Tom is a VERY BIG boy in this episode, and Lynette has not once bragged to the girls about this. I actually liked this story, because we got to the root of why Lynette is an “emasculating bitch” as she put it. She knows what a great guy Tom is, everyone knows it, and she feels she isn’t worthy . . . so the less she praises him the less she has to face that feeling.
