So the Britney Spears episode of “Glee” aired the other night, and I loved it! It was the highest rated episode yet too. Of course not everyone loved it. It seems it stirred up controversy and was too crass and crossed too many lines for some. Um, hello, it was a Britney inspired episode!
I think I really enjoyed it because Brittany was in it so much, and she always has the best lines. I loved when Santana defended her saying “Leave Brittany Alone!” There were a lot of good one-liners dealing with Miss Spears in the whole of the episode.
I absolutely also loved seeing Heather Morris singing and dancing. She was just amazing! Move over Rachel, she is taking over all the glee club solos from now on. Part of me giggled when near the end she said next week she’d be performing a Ke$ha number. I am not a Ke$ha fan, but would actually like to see her do it!
The one aspect of the episode I did not like was the whole Will-Emma-Carl/aka Uncle Jessie storyline. We waited so long for Will and Emma to be together, and now they are pulling “soap-like” stuff with them. Will just acted like a jack-ass through the whole episode and got on my nerves.
Next week’s episode looks really good with the “Grilled Cheesus” and Kurt’s father’s accident. Perhaps this will help bring Kurt’s dad and Finn’s mom back together? We haven’t heard much on what happened with them either.
I really liked the latest “Parenthood” because two of my favorite characters stood up to those around them that were beating them down.
First, Crosby finally put Renee in her place, reminding her not only was he Jabar’s father, but it was unfair of her to punish him for the relationship she had with her own kid’s father. Loved it, and loved that Renee realized he was right. Crosby might not be a dad on the level of Adam or Joel in terms of responsibility, but he has stepped up when others wouldn’t have.
I also loved that Joel finally told off Julia for making decisions about their family and their future without respecting or asking for his input, especially when it would impact him the most. I loved when he said she’d have 9 months and maybe 2 months maternity leave, but then she’d be back to her amazing job and he’d be the one taking care of the kid on a day to day basis. He made her agree that she would have to give a little more this time should they have a second kid, which she agreed to do, and he agreed to go for kid number two.
The story with Sarah and her daughter and the rich friend was cute, but I really liked her relationship with Kevin Alejandro (Jesus gets around!). It should be very interesting given Adam’s boss (and now Sarah’s) also likes her.
I am hoping Adam’s story gets a little more interesting. The mom obsessing over Max and Hattie is getting on my every last nerves.
9021…Oh No! Naomi ODs, Adrianna Gets Caught, Teddy’s on the DL

Oy! I think the latest episode of “90210” annoyed me more than entertained me, and that is totally because of the Adrianna storyline.
Adrianna sang Javier’s song at his memorial, it went viral on youtube, and Javier’s uncle confronted her. The question is, what will he do? Will he stop her, or try and make a buck of his dead nephew through her by perhaps blackmailing her into ditching Laurel? Honestly I really don’t care. I don’t like this storyline and just want it to go away!
I was shocked that Silver in fact realized Naomi wasn’t lying about the creepy rapist Mr. Cannon so fast. I thought for sure they’d drag this on. Though she wasn’t fast enough to stop Naomi from taking one too many sleeping pills. We know they aren’t going to kill Naomi though. My guess is instead of going to the cops, the girls are going to get revenge.
Annie learned what her boss and her husband (who was Jack from “Days!”) wanted . . . they wanted her eggs and were willing to pay her 20 grand for them. Mmmmmmmm, yeah Annie might be desperate enough to do that . . . . but do the parents really want their kid to have Annie’s genes?
We learned that Oscar is out to ruin Ivy and her mom’s life, because he blame’s Ivy’s mom for ruining his father’s life. The question is, what did she do and who is his father? Ivy revealed to Dixon that her own father lives 10 minutes from her, with a whole new family, and would rather forget she exists. This isn’t Oscar’s family is it? Because that would be a whole lot of incest yuckyness!
Teddy woke up hung over, saw a note about a great time the night before, and then puked. Did he puke because he was hung over, or puke because he . . . . Yup by the end of the episode not only had Teddy won Silver back, but warned the guy he hooked up with not to say anything. Teddy’s on the Down-Low!

So I don’t know how many people watched “No Ordinary Family” or not. I tivo’d it, as it was up against “Glee.” This I can see as a major problem, and it’s unfortunate because I really enjoyed the show.
The show deals with the Powell family, who after a plane crash into phosphorus amazonian water, each develop super powers. Yeah it’s straight out of a comic book, but it is a super hero show. The pilot basically introduced us to each member and their powers.
The cast and acting all around was top notch. The show was serious, yet funny at the same time. They aren’t your normal super hero family, they are a totally dysfunctional family with the parents marriage on the rocks. I really enjoyed it, and I really like the twist at the end . . . that the mom’s boss (Stephen Collins no less) seems to be the big baddy of the show, who is using his company to develop super villains it would seem.
I really hope ABC moves the show to another time slot, as if it remains up against “Glee,” I don’t see it lasting very long . . . . unless ABC gives it time that is.
Brothers and Sisters Season Premier: 1 Year Later . . . .
Posted by Dustin on 09.27.2010 at 7:24 pm
So “Brothers and Sisters” did the one year time jump last night. Here is a quick bullet point list of what happened . . .
-Justin returned from war to find his family not at all acting like his family.
-Rebecca carried out her threat and moved out while Justin was gone. We know they’re writing her off.
-Sarah was about to sell Narrow Lake and the kids would share the profits. She and Luc were pondering a move to France.
-Scotty and Saul were working in their new restaurant, while Kevin was a public defender.
-Kevin and Scotty’s surrogate lost the baby, and they have not tried again. Kevin didn’t want to even try again.
-Nora is working in a flower shop, and seemingly has lost her voice (aka isn’t a busy body anymore).
-Holly has lost years of memory and thinks William is still alive, and she and Nora are mortal enemies.
-Robert was in a coma and Kitty didn’t want to face he was not coming out of it.
At a family dinner to welcome Justin home, he eventually let everyone had it for acting so odd. It was interesting to see the family screw-up be the one with some clarity who set everyone straight.
Kitty accepted Robert was gone by the end of the episode and took him off life support. She was also approached by the Republicans with a job offer.
Sarah began to rethink selling Narrow Lake and thinking about using it to save Ojai as originally planned.
Kevin and Scotty took in a juvenile delinquent Kevin defended, who rather live on the streets than at home.
All in all, it was a slow premier I thought, but hopefully things will pick up. I really like the twist that Holly has no memories of the past few years. That should be interesting.
Tommy wasn’t even mentioned, and Rebecca wasn’t even seen. I actually would like to have Tommy back on the show, while Rebecca has been annoying and it’s time for her to leave. Thankfully William’s other kid was also not seen, and good riddance to him too!
Official Spoiler releases for lots of shows! Some highlights include . . .
-2 Weeks of “Castle” and “No Ordinary Family” spoilers.
-On “Grey’s,” Meredith and Derek get some news from a baby doctor.
-On “Private Practice,” Dell’s daughter Betsy returns. Get the hankies ready!
-On “Housewives,” Gabrielle tells the girls her secret.
-On “Brothers and Sisters”, Stephen Collins arrives as Saul’s potential boyfriend.
So I just finished “Desperate Housewives” and “Brothers and Sister.” The later show I’ll probably get thoughts on up tomorrow at this late hour.
I really loved this season premier, and feel like with the return of Paul Young that perhaps the show is going to recapture the greatness of the first season. The addition of Vanessa Williams is also going to make an amazing season.
I loved the return of Paul and the hints that he has a plan for the neighborhood and his old neighbors. At the same time, the return of Felicia Tillman proclaiming to her cellmate that Paul will be dead within sixth months is telling. It seems to hint that Paul won’t be around for the whole season perhaps? Maybe we’ll have a who-dunnit mystery sometime this season?
We learned that Juanita Solis is apparently the kid switched at birth, but a nurse who had a drinking problem long ago. So there was no hidden agenda in the switch, just a drunk nurse. I do feel like this was a change from last season, as it seemed like the nurse was forced to do it. While Carlos learned of the issue, he is keeping it from Gabby. At the same time she’s keeping the death of Carlos’ mother at Andrew’s hands from him. Leave it to this show to make a horrible crime into something funny. I loved Gabby’s reaction that Bree should have kept this to herself as she didn’t want to tell Carlos, who would kill Andrew, and then Carlos would go to jail ruining their life which was going so well. I guess had Gabby actually liked her mother-in-law she would have had a different reaction. It looks like from the previews though that Gabby finds out the truth fairly soon. Where is their real kid? What will happen? Obviously they can’t write Juanita out as the dynamic between her and Gabby is too good.
Renee (Vanessa Williams) showed up to visit her old friend Lynette, but it wasn’t just a friendly visit. Renee’s husband was leaving her, her life was falling apart. Clearly this is her reason for reason the rich and glamorous life and moving onto Wisteria Lane. I think Tom was the real scene stealer here with his comments about a 40th birthday fantasy given Renee revealed Lynette had some threesomes in college with some of the sports teams!
Susan and Mike, along with MJ, moved into an apartment in order to save money until they can return to their house. I loved MJ in this episode in reacting to Susan telling him they were now lower-middle class, poor people wished they could live this well. He said “They shouldn’t!” Because Mike is facing a 6 month job in Alaska to make money, Susan is now a cam-girl thanks to her landlord’s website. She has to clean the house in sexy lingerie to make some quick cash. Oh lord, this is just going to be cringe-worthy I’m sure.
Bree took up a new project to keep her mind off other things. It seems she really has signed over her business to that @%@#$% Sam! Orson also left in this episode, taking up with his physical therapist only a week after leaving Bree. Ass! Orson should have left seasons ago, so I won’t miss him. Brian Austin Green made his debut as Keith, the guy Bree hired to help her remodel her house. I don’t know if I like the idea of prim and proper Bree lusting after the handyman, but it could be fun.
Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice Season Premier Thoughts
Posted by Dustin on 09.24.2010 at 2:54 pm
I am not sure how I feel about last nights premiers of the big Thursday shows. In part I felt they were a little too depressing, especially since I was so looking forward to having them back. However given the horrible ways both seasons ended last year, I guess we couldn’t expect everything to be back to normal.
On both shows, in part one of the ways they were striving to get back to normal was with season premier weddings. At the same time, on each show the wedding had neigh sayers. On “Grey’s” Christina and Owen tied the not, even though Meredith had her issues with the marriage. On “Practice” it was Cooper who had issues with Pete and Violet’s marriage.
There were some happy developments on each show though. Callie and Arizona are back together on Grey’s, and The Chief is back after Derek decided he hated the job and quit.
Alex is back to being an ass after being shot. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, but if it means no more Alex and Lexie then it’s a good thing in my book. Here is hoping Mark and Lexie might work things out.
Meredith has yet to tell Derek about the miscarriage. From the spoilers that is coming up. Perhaps it will cool Mr. Speedy down a bit?
On “Practice” the off-again-on-again story with Sam and Addison is now just annoying me. They spent the whole episode apparent, with Addison planning to not be with him . . . then at the last minute were in the tub together. From the previews it looks like the show is intent on making them a couple. Thank god there are more people on this show, because I just don’t think they work.
The story about the guy with the kidney and the challenged brother was just heartbreaking. We could have done without death for one episode!
I did like Dink standing up to Naomi in this episode and stepping up. I also liked Cooper and Charlotte discussing how they’d still be “them” even though she was marrying Pete, and he was probably on his way to the altar with Charlotte.
Definitely interested in seeing where they take Derek’s sister Amelia! Also would like to see some resolution to the William-Fife-Naomi triangle.
When “V” returns for a second season in November, Jane Badler will return to the role that made her an icon . . . . Diana! This time though it’s a bit of a different character than the badie she played years back.
Badler told TV Guide that she’ll be the real Queen of the Visitors, Anna’s mother who has been locked away for 15 years!
