Person’s Unknown: Vodka and Antifreeze Martinis

Person’s Unknown: Vodka and Antifreeze Martinis

Posted by Dustin on 07.18.2010 at 6:51 pm

“Person’s Unknown” returned last night on their new night and time, Saturday’s at 8. It seems after weeks we are finally close to some answers!

The asian guy behind the camera referred to what was going on as “A program,” and one Joe used to believe in. I am really beginning to think more and more that this is either some government brainwashing camp, or everyone was sent here to be “saved” (aka brainwashed) by their family. The last one the Ambassador and Tori don’t neatly fit into though, as whoever is behind the camp seems to be blackmailing him. I could however see him sending her there for a multitude of reasons!

Suspicions about Joe continued to rise, and then he ended up getting poisoned. Moira had two solutions, but both could either kill him or purge the toxin from his body, depending on what it was. Erika however had a third idea, claiming she’d seen this in prison when people tried to make moonshine with antifreeze. Old fashion Vodka should counteract everything. Moira agreed, but before Erika would give it to him she demanded to know if he was working for the people behind the camera. He nodded, and she gave him the vodka. Later we learned who poisoned Joe . . . it was Erika! She was shown dumping Antifreeze down a sink. She’s in love with Janet and wants Joe out of the way, so Janet is all hers. Nice try sweetie, but I don’t think Janet swings that way.

I can’t wait for next week’s show as Joe may finally begin to give us answers. However it does appear Erika and the others are torturing it out of him. It looks like a painful show next week.

In other developments, Renbe and Kate ended up running from the men in blue, who are connected with the abductions and the camp. They went to Rome to Tori’s funeral, and met with the drug runner Tori was dating (Franco from Days!). He too had been tracking these men in blue. Renbe broke into the Ambassador’s office and found a photo of Tori, Janet and Joe standing outside the chinese restaurant in the mystery town.

Glee, Fringe, 90210 Return Dates

Glee, Fringe, 90210 Return Dates

Posted by Dustin on 07.16.2010 at 1:22 pm

Just a quick post on some other show return dates for the fall. The CW is getting the jump on everyone, premiering several of their new shows beginning September 8th.

“90210” moves to Mondays on September 13th. The big news this season is also the new poll, one of the three main guys comes out of the closet!

Over on Fox, the week of September 20th is their premier week for most shows, just as it is for NBC. “Glee” returns on September 21st, while “Fringe” returns on September 23rd.

Given the loss of so many shows I watched this past season, I’ve added “Fringe” to the blog. I enjoy the show, but as it’s on against “Grey’s,” I always fall behind with it. Plus so many of the shows are stand-alone shows, and I have trouble finding things to comment on those type of shows, ones that have arcs are easier because it leads to speculation.

Big Brother 12: First Eviction, the Saboteur, and the new HOH

Big Brother 12: First Eviction, the Saboteur, and the new HOH

Posted by Dustin on 07.15.2010 at 8:52 pm

Tonight was the first live eviction show, but also the revelation of the saboteur (to the audience).

The house guests were gathered for the vote, but first we had to go through Chenbot recapping everything that has been happening this week.

Annie threw a tantrum after being nominated, knowing she was going home. She gave Brendon hell for “betraying” her, privately and publicly. She made comments like “Well I guess our alliance is off?” in front of everyone.

Later Annie cornered Brendon, saying she knows he’ll vote to keep Rachel, and then began to cry as she’s embarrassed cause she can’t get the votes to stay.

Brendon then went off and made out with Rachel (and that’s ALL he’s been doing on the feeds!). When he wanted to talk about Annie, then Rachel got pissy! She felt he wanted to interrupt their making out, which is real, for a girl he met 8 days ago (um just like her?).

Chenbot revealed to us that America voted Kathy as the saboteur. Was America right ? ? ? ? ? ? ? The saboteur is actually Annie! We then saw clips of how Annie did all she did.

The saboteur left another message telling Hayden nice try, but they escaped eviction for the first week. Clearly that’s a lie, so is the other message that 2 people knew each other a lie too?

Annie felt that everyone thought Brendon is the saboteur thanks to the message, and she was right. Everyone is quickly flipping to evict Rachel and break him and Rachel up, since he can’t go home.

Annie began to tell everyone that Brendon is much more than a swim coach, he too is a scientist. Her plan seems to be working, people are turning on Brendon quick and are thinking on sending Rachel home.

We then went to the living room as Julie talked to the guests and then proceeded with the live vote.

Annie in her speech, basically threw Brendon under the bus and told everyone to break up Rachel and Brendon now rather than later. Rachel simply talked about how great it’s been with all of them and getting to know them.

The vote came in, and everyone voted Annie out! The saboteur and the twist is over! Annie admitted to Julie that she played too hard and too fast and that was probably why she was gone. Annie watched her messages. Britney gave her fashion advice, and Rachel claimed she was glad Annie was gone because she was trying to come in between her and her man. Annie then claimed Brendon put the moves on her first, and Rachel just got her sloppy seconds. Annie also said that there may still be one last trick up her sleeve for the houseguests.

The gameplay for HOH was up next. They played the majority rules game. If you answered as the majoriy did, you advanced until the final two, which would be a tie breaker question.

In the end the new HOH is . . . . . . RACHEL!

Big Brother: The POV and Final Nominations, Saboteur Revealed Tomorrow!

Big Brother: The POV and Final Nominations, Saboteur Revealed Tomorrow!

Posted by Dustin on 07.14.2010 at 8:57 pm

Hayden put up Brendon and Rachel for eviction in the last episode. Hayden wanted Brendon gone, because he’s a threat and because he wanted to break up Rachel and Brendon.

Rachel has no idea why she is up, but thinks it’s to break her and Brendon up. Brendon said he’d go home over her, he knows he’s the target.

Annie began to rouse suspicions of others as they felt she was playing everyone in the house. Enzo told Hayden he thinks Annie is in an alliance with Brendon and Rachel, and may be the saboteur. Hayden however still wanted Brendon out.

Rachel and Brendon’s love fest continued. Brendon talked to Hayden, saying he can’t campaign against Rachel, so he’s going to have to win POV. Brendon then says if he comes off the block, then Hayden should be worried. Hayden came away from the talk sure that Rachel, Annie and Brendon were in an alliance.

The POV players were chosen and the game was held. Hayden, Brendon, Rachel, Enzo, Andrew and Monet. Rachel picked Monet and rolled her eyes, pissing Monet off. Annie was chosen as the host.

The POV was a spelling game, and in the end Brendon won by gathering the letters to spell the biggest word. Too many others got set on spelling a certain word and searching for the letters they needed in the game.

With Brendon safe, the “Brigade” decided to backdoor Annie. Before the noms though, the Saboteur struck again. It was revealed two people in the house were life long friends, and if they thought about it, it would be very easy to figure out. Andrew claimed that it is clear he’s not the sabatoer cause none of them know anything about Judaism. It was brought up that it could be a lie, but others believed it. Some suggested Britney was Kathy’s daughter.

At the POV ceremony, Annie did go up, and at this point the house seems determined to get her out. Nobody seems to trust her. Annie felt Britney is the reason she is on the block. Britney meanwhile is glad and thinks everyone now knows that Annie is loony, and she gets off “scotch free.”

The live eviction is tomorrow, as is the next HOH . . . plus we’ll learn who the saboteur is!

True Blood: Ring Ring Hookuh, Ring Ring, Answer Yo Phone!

True Blood: Ring Ring Hookuh, Ring Ring, Answer Yo Phone!

Posted by Dustin on 07.14.2010 at 4:07 pm

Sooooo many quotable lines from this last “True Blood,” most however containing the Fword. “We Bleeped like only two vampires can bleep!” – Bill to Sookie. “Shut the bleep up” -Sookie to Bill when he called to dump her. I think my favorite though was Lafeyette’s message to Tara on her voice mail “Ring Ring Hookuh!” I want that as my ring tone!

Bill’s decent into badness continued in this week’s episode. We learned he was a procuerer of information for Queen Sophie Anne, which I understand is similar to his storyline in the books, though they didn’t go into it. He also continued to do Russell and Lorena’s bidding, though it would seem only to protect Sookie? I don’t know, but they sure are making me dislike Bill and fast! However I will say I am not and Eric and Sookie fan by far.

Franklin on the other hand has become completely love obsessed with Tara, taking her hostage. He is also after information on Sookie, it would seem he is the one who had her file/family tree on him. At the end we found out that he maybe working for Russell as well? I’m getting the feeling that Russell wants Sookie for the same reason the Queen does (and sent Bill after her, at lease in the books).

Bill turned Eric and the Queen into Russell for selling V, as a way to prove his loyalty to Russell. This led the Magistrate headed to skewer Eric. He took Pam hostage, but rather than turn the Queen in, Eric claimed it was Bill who had been behind the V selling. The Magistrate has given him two days to find Bill, or else Pam dies.

Andy took over as sheriff when Daryl retired to do something with his other brothers Daryl and Daryl. Jason finally used his head and blackmailed Andy into making him a police officer now rather than later, threatening to reveal who really shot Eggs and take away Andy’s new found hero status.

Sam ended up making a deal with his folks and Tommy. He’d let them stay until they got back on their feet, but his real aim was to hopefully get Tommy away from them and help him set up his own life, as Tommy felt he’d be stuck with their parents until they died. I still am not a fan of this story at all honestly.

Finally Alcide and Sookie went in search of Coot and his gang for leads on Bill. She wasn’t going to let being dumped keep her away, she felt something was up especially learning Lorena was with him. Alcide learned, from Sookie, that his ex Debbie Pelt was not only a V addict, but getting initiated into Coot’s pack. They went to try and save her, only to learn Russell was really their leader and supplying them with V. Russell, on stage, spoke German to them as he poured his blood into all these shot glasses and handed them out. That made me think back to Eric and Godrich during WWII posing as SS to try and find this band of wolves that were well organized, funded and super strong (obviously cause of V). So Russell has been behind them perhaps? But why? To start a vampire war perhaps?

Debbie Pelt was so damn trashy, but I couldn’t help but think of Hillary Swank every time she was on. Alcide’s sister Janice I loved loved loved! We once again saw a few glimpses of Crystal and her dad in this episode, but their secret has not been introduced. Yes I know what they really are 🙂

Pretty Little Liars: Population Decline!

Pretty Little Liars: Population Decline!

Posted by Dustin on 07.13.2010 at 9:42 pm

Holy crap tonight’s “Pretty Little Liars” was awesome! Definitely made up for the previous two slow episodes.

Tonight’s episode was the homecoming dance. Emily wanted to go with Maya, but ended up going with Toby. The other girls were not happy and set out to find out what they could. Hannah finally broke into the therapists office, only it wasn’t Jenna he was seeing . . . it was Toby. They found out that Allison knew Toby had been having sex with Jenna (his step-sister). That’s what she had on him. The girls also saw he had a tattoo that said 901, Finally Free At Last. That’s the date Allison went missing!

The others were convinced that Toby was Allison’s killer. Toby was off with Emily in the chem lab to talk. He knew she liked Maya and was okay with it. She didn’t know why he was so nice to her given what she and her friends did. He said they all have secrets, and he wanted to explain. Before he could, the girls texted her that Toby was Alison’s killer. She got scared and ran, and fell into some kind of hole somewhere. Then we saw someone change the town sign population, subtracting a member!

Other little things that happened, Aria and Ezra made up somewhat. She told him that “A” was not a friend, it’s someone who is messing with her . . . but she stopped there. He told her that seeing her at the dance made him realize he was asking too much from her, he could never give her what guys her own age could. Meanwhile Melissa set out to ruin Spencer’s evening and her date with Alex, the country club towel boy. She said Spencer was just using him to make their dad angry. Spencer’s constant ignoring him all evening to deal with Toby and “A” made him walk out on her, guessing that Melissa had been truthful. Finally Jenna had said something to Toby that when Emily found out the “truth” about him, she’d hate him.

So it seems like Toby may have killed Allison, or Toby and Jenna together? However both Toby and Jenna were at the dance when the mystery figure painted and changed the town population number. How would that person even know what would happen that night? I’m so confused! I still haven’t ruled out the cop, though he clearly hasn’t been on in several episodes.

I can’t believe they didn’t give us a sneak peak at the next episode either. After that ending! Grrrr! The spoilers (I looked) simply say the girls deal with the fallout of the Homecoming Dance. I seriously doubt Emily is dead, not when the Maya thing is unresolved. I’m gunna have to hurry up and get through the books!

The Gates and Scoundrels Return!

The Gates and Scoundrels Return!

Posted by Dustin on 07.12.2010 at 8:18 pm

ABC’s summer shows “The Gates” and “Scoundrels” returned, a long with a whole lot of shows that were not on last weekend due to the 4th.

On “The Gates” the whole police force was trying to find out who was able to trip house alarms all over the gates. It started off as false alarms, but then the person responsible really began to rob houses. In the end it turned out to be the history/computer science teacher at the high school. I may have missed it, but I am not sure if he had a motive other than robbery?

One of the houses robbed, well the police officer in charge of the security system and computers lived there. Something was stolen from her, and it affected her wellbeing. The doctor told her she had to get “it” back, the longer “they” were separated the worse it would be for her . . . This officer also got into a beef with the geeky male cop who is dating the young girl from outside the gates. She moved in with him, and the female cop was suspicious (jealous?). He lashed out saying she is always going off on there is no such thing as love . . . never fall in love . . . and he thinks she doesn’t even know what love is. However I think something is up with this girl, she is on a mission to get into the gates for some reason I bet.

In the end, the female cop confronted the teacher. He said he would return everything he stole if nobody pressed charges, and then made a comment about the weird people she lived with. She said she needed to make sure he took their secrets to the grave . . . and shot him! The last we saw she was putting a bizarre box back into a cabinet, and we saw a photo of her with a guy. I’m thinking the guys soul is in there maybe? She looks middle eastern, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Is she a Genie/Djinn? Was that her bottle or something?

The succubus girl (Annie?) ended up breaking up with the football/werewolf boy and deciding to give things a shot with the Chief’s son (Charlie?). I still don’t remember all their names, and it doesn’t help that they introduce new characters every show! The werewolf boy/football star is getting more and more involved with the white trash werewolf boy and his gang of wolves, which the mom doesn’t like as her husband and older son got killed by hunters.

Finally Claire met up with an old friend Christian (Brooke Shield’s husband from “Lipstick Jungle”) and he was a vamp too. He enticed her into feeding on real humans outside the gates. We also got a little more into Claire’s relationship with her husband. She is pretending to be the perfect home maker wife for him for some reason . . . .

Over on “The Scoundrels” we got a very Logan focused episode, and I really enjoyed it. We finally got to see Logan embrace his “West” side.

Heather meanwhile is waitressing in a strip club hoping it will lead to modeling jobs. Something tells me it will lead to something bad . . . for her and a customer!

Finally Cheryl got a job offer from a family friend (guest star Grant Show) who just wanted in her pants. That didn’t set well with Wolf, who ratted his business out to get Cheryl out of that position. Just seeing Grant Show being all horned up made me miss “Swingtown.” Sniff Sniff.
