Person’s Unknown: Vodka and Antifreeze Martinis
“Person’s Unknown” returned last night on their new night and time, Saturday’s at 8. It seems after weeks we are finally close to some answers!
The asian guy behind the camera referred to what was going on as “A program,” and one Joe used to believe in. I am really beginning to think more and more that this is either some government brainwashing camp, or everyone was sent here to be “saved” (aka brainwashed) by their family. The last one the Ambassador and Tori don’t neatly fit into though, as whoever is behind the camp seems to be blackmailing him. I could however see him sending her there for a multitude of reasons!
Suspicions about Joe continued to rise, and then he ended up getting poisoned. Moira had two solutions, but both could either kill him or purge the toxin from his body, depending on what it was. Erika however had a third idea, claiming she’d seen this in prison when people tried to make moonshine with antifreeze. Old fashion Vodka should counteract everything. Moira agreed, but before Erika would give it to him she demanded to know if he was working for the people behind the camera. He nodded, and she gave him the vodka. Later we learned who poisoned Joe . . . it was Erika! She was shown dumping Antifreeze down a sink. She’s in love with Janet and wants Joe out of the way, so Janet is all hers. Nice try sweetie, but I don’t think Janet swings that way.
I can’t wait for next week’s show as Joe may finally begin to give us answers. However it does appear Erika and the others are torturing it out of him. It looks like a painful show next week.
In other developments, Renbe and Kate ended up running from the men in blue, who are connected with the abductions and the camp. They went to Rome to Tori’s funeral, and met with the drug runner Tori was dating (Franco from Days!). He too had been tracking these men in blue. Renbe broke into the Ambassador’s office and found a photo of Tori, Janet and Joe standing outside the chinese restaurant in the mystery town.
I hate Erika. Have since she showed up, and she hasn’t grown on me since. I hate the whole black gang banger/prisoner stereotype thing. Jealous manipulation storylines bug me, too. The rest of the story, and the fact that Joe has been outed, is really cool, though. Like you, I’m excited for the next episode. It looks awesome!
