True Blood Season Three: Vampires, Shapeshifters and Werewolves Oh My!
So Season Three of “True Blood” debuted last night, and it was just awesome! It picked up immediately where Season 2 ended with Eggs being shot by Jason and Bill going missing. Through the magic of TV though, several of the men had noticeably bulked up, and Eric’s hair got darker, even though no time had technically passed. I found that very amusing for some reason.
Let’s see, briefly what happened? Andy took credit (ie covered) for Jason shooting Eggs. While Andy is now a hero, Jason is wracked with guilt, which makes little Jason unable to play basically. Tara has become suicidal over the loss of Eggs. Sookie is convinced Lorena has kidnapped Bill, and asked Eric for help. Eric meanwhile is upset because the man he sent to kidnapped Bill failed. Bill was taken by werewolves, but managed to escape and is now stuck in Mississippi. The Queen is afraid of being busted for being the main V seller/supplier, so she ordered Eric, who basically ordered Lafayette to magically sell all the V he has left and get out of the biz. Sam meanwhile went off to Arkansas to hunt down his real parents and it would seem has a little brother.
It was so awesome I wish it didn’t have to end. I think Pam stole the show with a lot of the comedic lines she had, like telling Lafayette she was not a “hooka, at least she hadn’t been for a long time now.” I also loved when she tried “really hard” to keep Sookie from finding Eric having private time with a new employe. “Oh no Sookie, . . . stop . . . don’t go down there.” Hilarious! Of course Sookie telling Pam she didn’t have time for any of her lesbian weirdness was good too.
Then of course there was the “Oh my gawd” moment of the show, Sam’s erotic dream about Bill! Having been saved by Bill’s blood, it comes with the territory. His dream was just so over the top absurd, it was like a really bad porno. “May I have the shirt off your back?” “I think I will take a shower, would you like to join me?” Am I watching HBO or Skinamax?
I was disappointed we did not get to meet Alicide in this episode, but it gives something to look forward to for next week. Actually there are so many new characters coming this season I just can’t wait for them all!
It was a truly great start to the new season!!

How do you know it was werewolves that kidnapped Bill? I must have missed something – I thought it was some guys who just wanted him for his blood (for V). I’ll have to watch it again (which I was going to do anyway since it was so awesome).
I wonder why Andy felt he had to cover for Jason. I don’t think people would fault Jason for what he did – it really did look as if Eggs was going to murder Andy an second.

One of the guys in the car was Coot, played by Grant Bowler. He is supposed to be the leader of a gang of werewolves 🙂

I actually wasn’t impressed with this. I think bc I read all of the books in between seasons I was disappointed plus it seems they’re getting further and further away from the books. I just loved the books so much I don’t know if I’ll enjoy the show anymore. 🙁

I read all the books too between the seasons and loved them but I still thought it was an awesome show. The first two seasons were way different from the books too, the maenad was barely in the book but very prominent last season(too much). I enjoy them both and can’t wait to see what they do this season.

D’oh! I forgot about the werewolf rune on the neck! I gather to that Mississippi must be “werewolf” territory as Bill seemed a bit alarmed when he learned he was in that neck of the woods.
I read the first Sookie Stackhouse book in the series (Dead until Dark?), but quite honestly I thought the book was so poorly written I decided not to read another one from the series. The True Blood writers do a much better job (in my opinion).

Can’t wait for next Sunday. And Book eleven will rock my world too! I’m a Charlaine/Sookie/True Blood/Bon Temps girl till the end! Bring it all on and don’t EVER stop! Unless it starts sucking! (Had to add the cheese there, LOL)

LOL. I just watched it. Dustin surely you could have reminded me to bring a drool cloth. Eric is fine as is Sam….. okay mind out of gutter.
I managed to miss one of my favorite character bit actors in this episode cause in the closing credits saw Don Swazye mentioned.
Overall I am liking where it is going, this is going to be another wild ride of a season. But I definatley want to get the whole series on DVD so I can watch it when ever I want.
