Catching Up With Tara

Catching Up With Tara

Posted by Dustin on 05.12.2010 at 12:20 am

So lately my favorite part of “US of Tara” has been Princess Valhalla Hawkwind, I love Kate sploshing on webcam to get a Vespa!

Marshall going postal on his psycho girlfriend who seemed determine to be with him, even though he was gay, was hilarious. Just as much as him then turning on his family and staying what needed to be said to some of them.

I cannot believe Charmaine is trying to talk her way into having Neil’s baby and trying to convince her fiancé that spiritually it is his. What a crock. She has as many problems as Tara and needs to bed told as much. Marshall tried!

I really hope we get more of the mystery of what happened to Tara and Charmaine as kids. Clearly Mimi’s house is a factor and possibly her basement giving Charmaine’s fear of them.

I really hated the way the last episode ended. It was bad enough when Tara cheated with Pammy, but now Max? What is next, a three way “Big Love” marriage? Booooo to this storyline. I hope we don’t see a potential break-up for Tara and Max by seasons end, but things aren’t looking so hot for them right now.

Army Wives: Mother’s Day

Army Wives: Mother’s Day

Posted by Dustin on 05.11.2010 at 12:21 am

Much like “Brothers and Sisters” this week, this was not my most favorite episode. It was really depressing! The show mostly revolved around Michael’s Aunt Eddie, who breezed into town and disrupted Claudia Joy and Emmalin’s Mother’s Day plans. Everyone else’s plans also got disrupted, so they all ended up at Claudia Joy’s for a big Mother’s Day dinner.

Aunt Eddie revealed her son was lost in Vietnam, they never even recovered his body. At the end of the show they had a ceremony for him, conducted by Michael, with Frank and Trevor helping.

Unlike the previews teased, Joan did not return from Iraq. It was all a dream she was having. Poo!

Like I said, a depressing episode really. The one bright spot was that Frank and Denise are getting along better than ever. Jeremy meanwhile it seems is preparing to go back into the thick of things. He’s back in training.

Brothers and Sisters: Closing Ojai

Brothers and Sisters: Closing Ojai

Posted by Dustin on 05.10.2010 at 11:50 pm

This was not my favorite of episodes. It was slow, and not much actually happened. The Walkers faced closing Ojai, and all reminisced. Employees applied for other jobs as well. Rebecca and Holly unknowingly applied for the same job, which Rebecca got. What what what? Rebecca only had a job cause of her mom! I can’t believe they’d hire her over Holly to be honest. Maybe they thought they could pay her less? They did tell Holly she was insanely over qualified for this job.

By the end of the show Nora and Sarah got some old blue prints from Roger the architect, who William hired to design Ojai’s company building. Roger is not back in Nora’s life, he’s dating a younger woman now. Nora is still single it seems. Can’t they get her a good man? Maybe next season! Anyway, they learned William planned to build Nora a house at Narrow Lake, and Nora realized how much William really did love her.

The only other development was that Robert got caught by the guy he was trying to investigate, the guy playing dirty politics. He was told forget everything he knew, or the guy would make sure Kitty never got elected.

The only really interesting part of the show were the previews for the finale. It seems someone is going to die, maybe several someones. There seems to be a car crash coming, which Rebecca and Justin were either there for or arrived on the scene for. Who is the goner? I swear if they kill off Scotty Imma gunna be pissed! I fear it could be Saul or Holly’s hubby to be (Rebecca’s father).

I have to say I’ve actually liked having Tommy back. I actually hope they don’t kill him, and that they keep him around more next year. He seems different, not as much of the ass he was.

Anyways, I can’t wait till next Sunday. I want to see who is out, and how the reported time jump the show is doing affects things. It seems they are going a year into the future only.

Desperate Housewives: Bombs Away!

Desperate Housewives: Bombs Away!

Posted by Dustin on 05.10.2010 at 11:04 pm

A very nail biting episode of “Desperate Housewives” this weekend, all building up to the season finale next week! Let’s get into it . . . .

The story that irked every last nerve in me this week was Eddie the serial killer. Irina’s body was found, and the cops needed to talk to Porter. Tom and Lynette took him in. All they needed to do was confirm his whereabouts this summer, to rule him out. Seems they rightly think the person who killed the other women also killed Irina. Lynette then overheard them mention Eddie’s mom was also found dead. Eddie had previously told Lynette his mom was probably on a bender, which is why nobody had seen her, and that she’d turn up. By the end of the show Lynette found Eddie claiming he just talked to his mom, who was in Florida with his Uncle. He was going there, they were getting her help. Lynette then opened her big mouth, thinking the cops at the station made a mistake as they said they found his mom dead. Yup, she spoke to soon, and immediately realized her mistake. Eddie began locking the doors and closing the windows! I was SO pissed at Lynette by the end. I would expect such a blunder from Susan or even Gabby, but NOT Lynette. Lynette supposedly goes into labor next week while Eddie is there, and I have horrible visions of Eddie running with the kid once it’s born.

Susan went on a hunt to get their dead beat neighbors to pay Mike the money they owed him, but claim they couldn’t pay because times were tough. She thought it would be easy enough to cry and pout, but it didn’t work. These were major manipulators, so Susan got dirty with them . . . and they paid! Unfortunately then the IRS came knocking on their doors. So Mike and Susan’s money troubles have only begun. I’ll post a Mike and Susan spoiler at the end, with a little discussion! I honestly didn’t expect the IRS twist here. I simply thought Susan the Terminator would single handily ruin Mike’s rep with the neighbors and thus his business.

Bree, Andrew and Orson discussed how to deal with Sam. They decided to pay him off. It didn’t work, and only pissed him off. In the end, he told Bree she would sign over her entire company to him . . . or he’d go to the cops with the dirt a drunk Danielle told him a few weeks back. Seems Sam knows Andrew once ran down Carlos’ mother! I totally forgot all about that. Wow way to dig up the past and surprise me. However I am loathing Sam. Does he really think anyone wants anything to do with him running Bree’s company? That he can do what Bree does? He’s an idiot, and he’s messed with the wrong woman. It will be interesting to see what happens. I expect Bree to take him down hard.

Gabby, on a quest to make the perfect lasagna for Carlos, went to Angie for help. She didn’t realize Angie and Tyler were being held hostage until the very end of the show, when the lasagna Angie made her had a secret note in it screaming for help. Patrick had it in his head that Angie would make him another bomb he could use in more of his environmental terrorism. Tyler meanwhile was tied up in another room and apparently learned the truth from PAtrick, who expected Tyler to come around and hate Nick and Angie when he thought about it. I have to say I am not a fan of Patrick the Eco-Terrorist. He’s not only nuts, but so is his quest. I guess in that way it does make his nuttiness seem more realistic. I mean he’s going around blowing up lumber camps and what not to save the environment? I think blowing stuff up is not helping the environment, ozone or greenhouse gasses! I also have a feeling both Patrick and Angie might go out together in the finale, with Nick taking Tyler.

SPOILER BELOW!

Thursday Night Dramas: Christina Grows A Heart and A Terrible Accident

Thursday Night Dramas: Christina Grows A Heart and A Terrible Accident

Posted by Dustin on 05.08.2010 at 10:30 pm

Grey’s Anatomy

So the main medical story dealt with a 700 pound man, who Bailey was in charge of. Throughout the show she threw basically everyone off the case for being insensitive in one way shape or form. The best part of the show was when his wife, who was thin and hot (of course to the shock of Alex, he’s off the case!) revealed she was pregnant. Lexie immediately blurts out “How? . . . I mean WOW that’s great!” Bailey looks at her and mouths behind her clipboard “You’re off the case!”

Alex received divorce papers, and just like that he and Izzie are over and she’s done and gone. Meanwhile he and Lexie’s torrid affair, or whatever it is, continues. I do NOT like them together and don’t think I ever will. I loved her with McSteamy, but he was such an ass to her. I’m afraid Alex will end up doing the same.

Callie and Arizona broke up by the episodes end as well, as Arizona wouldn’t stick around and be the reason Callie never had the baby she wanted. HATE this storyline too. Why does Grey’s feel the need to make their couples so unhappy?

Derek had to contend with a lawsuit brought on by the husband of the wife he ordered removed from life support a few weeks back. Derek of course felt guilty, but the hospital lawyer said to him there was no case, the woman had an advanced directive, he did what was he had to by law. She said the husband just needed to vent and yell at him, it would be over. Uh-huh . . . . why do I feel this is FAR from over and will lead to the reinstatement of Chief as Chief?

Derek and Meredith found themselves at odds yet again, this time over Christina and Owen. Meredith knew Owen still had feelings for Teddy and wanted to warn Christina, but Derek wanted her to stay out of it. Again, not liking this story! I don’t like that they are really screwing Derek and Meredith. Apparently Shonda herself (I believe via Ausiello) has come out saying next season she will return MerDer to their happy state, even having Derek finally building Meredith her house on the hill (promised a few seasons back). So it looks like something will happen to keep them happy. I have a feeling the post-it marriage could become real because of the husband’s lawsuit threats.

Finally Christina had probably the best story of the show. She, after being the first kicked off Bailey’s case, sat for a little girl whose mother was in heart surgery. We finally saw that Christina actually has a heart as she helped this little girl deal with the possibility her mom might die. In the end she ran to Owen, breaking down, as the whole ordeal reminded her of losing her own father at a young age.

Private Practice

This show I felt was very much about forgiveness.

First up, the best scene of the show was Violet asking Pete to forgive her. She said she should have leaned on him, but she didn’t, she is the one that helps people but didn’t know how to help herself. Loved the whole scene, and Pete forgiving her. He even said she could have Lucas for nights at first to see how things work out. I think the scene showed Pete still loved her, and I think Addison is in big trouble! Addison meanwhile it seemed tried to make inroads with Sam on a case they worked on, but he was now distancing himself from her. Could it be the star of the show will end up losing both her guys by the season finale? I can’t say I won’t feel bad if she does!

After a talk with Violet, and a one night stand with Charlotte, Cooper decided to fight for Charlotte and tell her he wanted her back. Unfortunately Sheldon came to the same decision about Charlotte after talking to Addison. Will there be a fight between them in the finale? Looks like it!

Naomi returned with a dying William this week, who had come to terms with that. Pete confronted Fife about keeping his treatment from William in an attempt to win Naomi. In the end he went to Naomi and admitted as much to her, saying he’d help William and was doing it for her, because he loved her that much. Aw! I really want them to be together. They are such an opposites attract kinda couple. I kinda feel though William might have to die for it to happen, as I feel he’d fire Naomi if she dumped him! Though then she’d have a lawsuit on her hands, and could go back to the other practice.

Finally Maya was getting close to her due date. She had Dell as her midwife, and was beginning to reconnect with Naomi. In the end though, when she went into early labor, she asked Dell to take her to the hospital. Panicking she wanted drugs and a hospital birth, not the home natural thing! Unfortunately on the way there, someone hit them. The show ended with Dell walking into the hospital with his arm in a sling, but Maya being taken in on a stretcher.

The previews seem to indicate Maya and her baby are in danger. Will they die? The teasers kept insisting it was a major original character, so I just can’t see Maya being a major character. Original yes, major though? Dell could have internal bleeding, and there are rumors the actor wants off the show (but many others are rumored to want out too). If I hadn’t seen Cooper in the previews, I’d worry he was killed in the way he raced off to see Charlotte.

Your thoughts on who might die?

90210 Thoughts

90210 Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 05.06.2010 at 8:00 pm

It’s been awhile since I blogged about “90210.” I’m still watching, but have a love-hate thing going on with it. Here are some quick thoughts.

I do not like how they are basically ruining Debbie and Harry’s marriage in an obvious attempt to figure out how to write out Rob Estes. Had they built this up, it would have worked better. However Kelly has all but vanished (the actress left) and Debbie has one kiss and nothing else comes from her relationship with her yoga instructor. Suddenly Debbie and Harry are miserable and don’t even seem to be in love at all.

I love that Jaspar seems to be gone, but I doubt he’s forgotten, nor is his uncle. At some point this all has to come back out, probably in the finale.

I oddly like Naomi and Liam together, but find myself wondering WHY again are we going down the road of Annie taking Naomi’s boyfriend. Did we not learn what that leads to already? It seems like a stale storyline mainly cause they just did it!

Jen being back has actually been interesting. It was great to see her go down earlier, but with her back I’m interested in finding out what she REALLY wants. Something tells me it’s poor Mr. Matthews, who seems to have a whole lot of substance problems as of late. Booze . . . Pot . . . What next?

I’m not sure how I feel about Adrianna and Navid back together again. I feel like they just ditched her entire relationship with Gia and a flash, as if it was just some fluke and should be forgotten. Now Navid, who has constantly said he was over her, is back into her? She seems to still like him, but he’s semi-seeing someone else and she now has some music star after her as well. Oh brother!

Given what is going on with Liam and his Step-Dad, and Liam stealing from his coin collection to help fund his real dad’s new business so he can move in with his dad, I have to wonder if we are headed for yet another dead body in the finale? I wouldn’t be surprised if Liam’s dad or step-dad bit it!
