So Friday night brought us the season finales of “Medium” and “Ghost Whisperer,” possibly the series finally for the later.
If that was the final “Ghost Whisperer,” I feel I would be satisfied. Both shows not only wrapped up the stories, but left us in good places, as if they knew chance for renewal might not happen. No horrid cliff hangers dangling the fans.
On “Ghost Whisperer” we learned Aiden didn’t listen to his parents and was still talking to the shinies, who as it turned out where crossed over ghost children. Aiden led them in a war to destroy the shadows, who were apparently trying to take over the world. This is why the shadows sought out ghost children who hadn’t been crossed over, they could become shinies.
Honestly I felt that the storyline was somewhat weak. This was all about a war of ghost children? This didn’t need a whole season to explain or come to fruition. But again, I was glad we weren’t left with some cliffhanger.
“Medium’s” entire episode had Allison dead and not crossing over, but sticking around to continue doing her job through poor Ariel. The whole show was a dream though, which I felt was fairly obvious. In the end Ariel got ready to head to Dartmouth for college, and Lee and Lynn finally got married. The show ended at their wedding with everyone toasting to the future.
I wasn’t that thrilled with this season finale either, but again, it was a good ending should it had been the series finale. Fortunately for “Medium,” which I enjoy more, it’s not. Allison will dream on, will Melinda make the leap to ABC? Time will tell.
So I just finished the season finale. Stop right there if you don’t want spoilers!
. . . . . . . . I warned you!
Unlike the other finales, we didn’t get any huge cliff hangers. I think after last season and even this season with the Knight/Heigl mess, we earned not having to wait a whole summer to find out who is and isn’t coming back (and if they are even going to stay if they are coming back!).
Aside from a slew of unknowns, Dr. Percy and Reid (forget her last name) were taken out. These were two of the four Mercy Westers. I believe both have been cast on new shows, so it’s not shocking. I never liked either of them, so I can’t say I was chocked up. I did however feel for Dr. Percy’s death scene, and poor Bailey!
I did expect Miranda’s love interest, Jason George, to go as well. He’s been cast on Shonda Rhimes new show for the fall. Maybe they are keeping that door open though for a return?
April and the guy who Christina had the on-off-again-kiss thing with both survived (I’m forgetting his name too). It will be interesting to see if April returns next season, and how she’ll be changed? If she stays, I hope it makes her a badass doctor. Otherwise I feel she is not coming back.
The first hour was intense, the second hour was intense and frustrating. I just kept wondering how they let the shooter walk away after being shot? How did the swat team not take him out? Why did they not descend upon him then and there? I guess that would have made for bad TV!
I think we will see The Chief take his job back next season, though after this does he want it? Derek made the comment he’d rather have something in his impaled head to see the inside of an OR over the mountain of paperwork he was stuck with. Well he did get there! You knew that was some foreshadowing.
Loved seeing Christina step up to save Derek, though I’m not happy they took away the MerDer baby. That was seriously the one bright spot of the whole episode. As Meredith and April worked on the shot Owen, when they said the bullet went right through him and Meredith was bleeding, I was fearing that meant it hit Meredith and she just hadn’t even noticed cause of the shock. That’s when she said “No, I’m just having a miscarriage.” Ugh! Heartbreaking!
Owen, in the heat of the moment, chose Christina over Teddy, while Lexie chose Alex over Mark. Poor Alex though, in his delusion, chose Izzie over Lexie! OUCH! I wondered if Katherine was watching tonight? That’s going to be an interesting triangle next season.
We also got to see Arizona and Callie finally work things out and agree to be with each other, another one of the few bright spots of the episode.
The following are the official HBO spoiler releases for the first three episodes of “True Blood.” I’m trying hard not to read them! I think I’m about to fail . . .
First up, the new season trailer (which yeah I’m a week late on, it came out when I was away)
Now read on for the spoilers . . . .if you can’t control the urge to not look! Read More »
Comments Off on First True Blood Season 3 Spoilers Released!
Ausiello has reported two major “Desperate Housewives” stories over the past two days.
First the good news, Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) joins the cast as a new trouble making neighbor. Side note, there was a rumor/spoiler going around it was a whole family that moved onto the block at the end of the season (as they do with every season), but only Paul Young showed up this time. Could Vanessa’s character be his new wife?
Second the . . . good news? Kyle MacLachlan (Orson) is leaving the show, but may appear on one or two final episodes next season. His character Orson did walk out on Bree at the end of this season. Frankly I’ve loathed Orson for a long time now, so I am not unhappy to see him go!

CBS announced today its new 2010-2011 primetime schedule and the addition of five new series, including three dramas and two comedies, and key scheduling moves to enhance America’s most watched lineup.
The new series includes an updated take on the classic series HAWAII FIVE-0; comedic drama THE DEFENDERS starring Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell as colorful Las Vegas defense attorneys; drama BLUE BLOODS about a family of NYPD cops starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg; a Twitter-inspired comedy, $#*! MY DAD SAYS, starring William Shatner as a father who spouts politically incorrect observations on daily life; and the romantic comedy MIKE & MOLLY, starring Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy as a cop and teacher who find love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.
“We believe television’s #1 network just got stronger,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. “New series will be launched behind proven hits and key scheduling moves will help grow nights. Two of the dramas, ‘Hawaii Five-0′ and ‘The Defenders,’ continue our successful evolution in the drama form – character driven with great humor. The third new drama, ‘Blue Bloods,’ introduces a police drama with a unique family spin. Our two new comedies will definitely make some noise. ‘$#*! My Dad Says’ is based on a distinctly loud and funny Twitter feed – led by a larger-than-life star in William Shatner. ‘Mike & Molly’ is a comedy on the romantic side, featuring the trademark humor of TV’s reigning king of comedy, Chuck Lorre. And, the best news is that these new series join a schedule deep with hits and leadership in every program genre.”
The freshman series will be joined by 18 returning shows including the season’s #1 drama/scripted program – NCIS; #1 comedy – TWO AND A HALF MEN; #1 new series – UNDERCOVER BOSS, the #1 news magazine – 60 MINUTES, the #1 new drama – NCIS: LOS ANGELES, plus the #1 scripted series in key demos (18-49 and 25-54) – THE BIG BANG THEORY, along with two franchise reality series – SURVIVOR and the seven-time Emmy Award winner THE AMAZING RACE.
Also returning are: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, THE GOOD WIFE, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, THE MENTALIST, MEDIUM, CSI: NY, 48 HOURS MYSTERY and CSI: MIAMI.
A spin off of the hit drama CRIMINAL MINDS, starring Forest Whitaker, has been ordered for midseason.

I have to admit, the past few “Glee” episodes have been very hit or miss. I either love them, or really don’t care for them (I never hated them!). This last episode was stellar, resolving the major question that has been on everyone’s minds . . . who is Rachel’s mother!
As some of you guessed, Jesse from Vocal Adrenaline was a spy from their coach, who is in fact Rachel’s mom. Yes, Idina Menzel is the mommy! She signed a contract saying she couldn’t see Rachel until she was 18, but Rachel could seek her out. She used Jesse to plant the seeds in Rachel to make her curious enough to try and find her. Damn it was a good reveal too! Even though it was so obviously coming, it was amazing.
Next week is the “Lady Gaga” episode. For those who have not yet bought the “Glee Volume 3” soundtrack, Rachel and Idina cover “Poker Face” in it. We saw the lead in, with Rachel confronting her knowing she was her mom. It should be hot!
Neil Patrick Harris in this episode was also stellar. I loved the “Dream On” duet. However the real winner of the whole episode was Artie doing “Safety Dance” and in a flash mob spoof to boot! WIN WIN WIN!
Without a doubt the best “V” of the season, and let me tell you I would have been all kinds of pissed if there wasn’t a second season after that!
I feel I should offer a quick recap before getting to my thoughts, so here goes . . . . This is a bullet point summary cause it’s so late!
– Erica and Tyler met with Anna and Lisa for a dinner on the mothership. Anna thinks Erica is an ally, not realizing she was there to destroy her soldier eggs.
– Joshua told Lisa she had to chose a side, it seemed she originally chose Anna. Joshua gave her a bomb to give to Erica to kill the eggs, should she change her mind.
– Jack tried to figure out which side Chad was by giving him a fake note, and he failed, which got Joshua caught by Anna’s men.
– Joshua told Chad he’d been played by Anna all along, and guided him to the room where Anna torture the humans so he could see for himself.
– Lisa made her choice, freed Joshua, and they worked to help create the distraction needed for Erica to kill Anna’s eggs. Joshua bowed to Lisa, calling her his queen!
– Erica was forced to kill Joshua to keep her cover, he told her it was the only way. Joshua then looked like the bomber.
– Erica and Chad were both lied to by Anna, who claimed a human snuck on board and orchestrated the attack.
– Meanwhile . . . Val was taken aboard, her baby delivered, then she was killed by Anna! Ryan was brought onboard and it seems Anna has blissed him back, at the end handing him his lizard hybrid baby
– Marcus met with Hobbes, and basically to Hobbes he had been his employer all along for all these years. He wanted Hobbes to name Fifth Column . . . .
– Anna learned of her eggs distruction, as Marcus informed her it was Joshua’s doing. She believes someone helped him and broke down . . . . She asked “What is happening to me?” Marcus said “You are experiencing your first human emotion!”
– Anna set out for revenging, releasing some kind of gas that painted the skies red.
– Jack betrayed his church’s head priest/bishop, preaching to his flock that they had to choose who to worship, God or the Vs. Most left. In the end Hobbes, Erica, CHAD! and a few others remained as Jack referenced the original show . . . “V stands for Victory!”
– The final moments had Marcus reviving Joshua on the ship saying “Welcome back!”
My Thoughts . . . .
Damnnnnn! Seriously! Best episode ever. What a fricken roller coaster ride!
I don’t know what to think of Marcus honestly. It seemed he was a traitor, then he wasn’t, then he was. Is he Fifth Column? I don’t think so. He wanted Hobbes to name a name, and I think Hobbes did, which led him to Joshua. I think Marcus is a third fraction, or has his own designs on Anna’s thrown.
LOVED when Joshua bowed to Lisa as his queen. Great scene! I was pissed when Joshua was killed, and NEVER expected him to survive. At the very end is when I realized what Marcus was doing!
I did not like Ryan being blissed back into Anna’s servitude and again hopes he’s not been pulled back in. That would suck! I am also pissed we didn’t get to see the lizard kid! WTF !?!?!?!
Chad finally came to his senses, though it took seeing his own kind being tortured. I’m sad we didn’t get the big “on air” V reveal like we did in the original. Something to look forward to next season? Chad ripping Anna’s face off live on TV? Yes, that will rock!
I loved them ending on Jack giving a sermon about God and the Vs, taking back V for Victory rather than Visitors. It was an updated play on the original, but in a different context. For those who never saw the original, in the original it was a holocaust survivor who spurned the “V for Victory” movement among the humans, saying she’d been in this position before. It was a throwback to the Nazi’s, as well as relavant for the 80s when Communism and nuclear war was on everyone’s minds.
I’m not sure what the red skies were about honestly. Again, the original was so drenched with red scare and communism metaphors. Are they playing on that, or is this a toxic gas that might allow for an invasion? Time will tell!
If you’ve enjoyed “V,” then do rent the original two miniseries over the summer. Hey, you got a while till “V” comes back! (The failed 1 season NBC show is debatable, many loath it, some love it).
Spoiler release for the May 25th season finale of “Parenthood.” Yes the show is back next season too!
