Brothers and Sisters: Kevrah!
Narrow Lake was a mere mention this week, as other issues took precedence for once. A lot of drama, most of it to build up the the life changing season finale.
Cooper suddenly had a lot of problems with Luc. He acted out through the whole episode, with Sarah trying to make excuses for her son while both Nora and Luc felt this was an issue that had to be dealt with. Cooper kept acting out against Luc and being disrespectful. Sarah herself also began having issues, thinking they had all lived in a fantasy world of “what if” and now it was a reality of “what can be.” She worried she and Luc might not make it. Luc tried to calm her down, telling her to not worry. In the end of course everything worked out, and Luc found a way to connect to Cooper through karate training.
I was NOT a fan of this storyline. Cooper was a snot, and I felt his attitude with Luc came out of nowhere and was just a plot device for this episode. Both Cooper and Paige had gotten over their initial shock about Luc and had no issues with him until this episode. Sarah annoyed me because she kept making excuses, and Nora also actually annoyed me by trying to blame the videogames Cooper kept playing.
Robert was asked by Dr. Anspa (the actor will always just register as Dr. Anspa from ER to me) to investigate this guy who they suspected of buying various war/building contracts from politicians. Robert entered a tennis tournament to get closer to the guy, and was spotted by Kevin, who began to worry as he knew this guy was dirty and bad news.
The best part of this episode was Kevrah! The name Kevin and Sarah gave themselves when they played in tennis double tournaments years ago. Apparently they were the hot %@%, or at least thought they were! They also got into fights with other players and temporarily banned from the local country club. It was hysterical watching everyone in the family react when they heard Kevrah! was back in action.
Saul and Scotty plan to go in on a restaurant together, with Saul bringing financing and business experience with him. Kevin meanwhile realized he had to find something to do which inspires him as well.
Rebecca continued house hunting, even making an offer on a house Justin hadn’t even seen. Following Holly’s advice she did this, because it was refundable and just to get their name in the game. Still, I thought it was fairly ballsy of her! Meanwhile Justin kept grappling with his own issues. In the end he told Rebecca he didn’t think he wanted to be a doctor anymore, he didn’t feel like part of a team. He was remembering how being in the army felt. Both Nora and Rebecca were stunned, Nora point blank told him she didn’t want him going back there after what happened the last time. Justin told Rebecca even though he was thinking about it a lot, it didn’t mean he would do it, but right now she was the only one true thing in his life.
HATED this story. HATED it! They got us all hoping Justin would be a doctor, tortured us with him almost failing, and now he just wants to quit? Part of me thinks he should, cause he clearly has learned nothing where he goes to school. He acted like a doctor wasn’t part of a team, which if he’d watch “Grey’s Anatomy” he’d know is just crap. I also seem to recall during the first season he was considering going AWAL rather than be sent back. Now suddenly it’s what he was meant to do? HATED this story!
I mean no disrespect to our actual servicemen and women but I hope they do send him back and kill him off. Im sick of them using his military service as a crutch for lack of anything else to do with the character. If you wanna do it, then do so and make it final. I also felt it was mind blowinly dumb of him not to realize that if he wants to be a real help maybe some medical skills beyond those of a paramedic would be more beneficial to his fellow solders
