Desperate Housewives: Identifying The Strangler!

Desperate Housewives: Identifying The Strangler!

Posted by Dustin on 04.19.2010 at 12:39 pm

So last night we finally found out who the Fairview Strangler is! More on that in a few . . .

First up, Lynette didn’t give up on exposing her almost-to-be daughter-in-law Irena. She knew something was up, did some digging with immigrations help, and found out the woman had a history of marrying men all over the world and taking their money. Preston promptly dumped her and was heartbroken. I still am clueless as to what she wanted from Preston at this point, as he has no money. A ticket to stay in the US so she could find a more eligible man?

Bob and Lee had marital troubles, fighting over trying to have a child. Adoption and surrogacy had both failed, and Lee wanted to drop the whole thing as he couldn’t take being let down again. Bob however wanted a child. Gabby opened her mouth and offered her eggs up, but Carlos had issues and later when she thought about it she too couldn’t give up a child and step out of its life. Bob and Lee fought once again, with Lee moving out. A very sad story, but good to see them being given a larger more deeper storyline than simply “the funny gays on the block.”

Mike and Susan were also having marital problems. Mike was behind on car payments, which almost cost him his truck. Susan then tried to get him work by clogging people’s tubs around the neighborhood, but got caught. From the upcoming spoilers for the finale, it looks like their money issues get worse. I swear, can this show stop pushing/pulling these two? Just let them be happy! I will be so upset if we have to go through yet another Mike and Susan breakup.

Andrew remained out to expose Sam to Bree, but only got himself fired by Bree. Bree however planned to hire him back, which Sam wouldn’t have. Sam sabotaged an important book deal dinner of Bree’s and made it look like Andrew did it. Yeah, this kid is nuts! Orson is onto him, as is Andrew. I fear Bree might not catch on until too late.

Patrick came to Fairview and met Danny/Tyler while he was working at the coffee shop. He claimed to be writing a book about a love story gone “very dark.” Little did Tyler know the love story was about his mom and Patrick. Patrick considered killing Angie, but by the end of the episode decided to use Tyler in his nefarious plot. I wonder . . . . does he know Tyler is his son, or suspect it? I might have missed that part, as the show seemed to end with him planning to abduct Tyler (or the fictitious kid of the women in his love story).

By the end of the show, Preston’s geeky friend Eddie was revealed as the killer. He picked up Irena, who got the boot from Preston, and offered her a ride. He promptly killed her! I have to say I was disappointed. He’s a nobody, and a random serial killer. There was no nefarious plot against Julie or anyone else, she was randomly target by this guy. Supposedly if you go back and watch from the beginning of the season you’ll see all the subtle hints and signs. I don’t have the time to do so right now, and honestly am not impressed with this “reveal” enough to do so.

Glee’s Spring Premier

Glee’s Spring Premier

Posted by Dustin on 04.17.2010 at 1:41 pm

So after months and monts, “Glee” finally returned this week. I have to say while it was good to have it back, I wasn’t crazy about the episode. I think it might have been I wasn’t a fan of most of the songs perhaps. Finn however completely rocked The Doors and I think he might have used the time off to get some vocal training.

Brittany’s completely out of field comment “Dolphins are just gay sharks” stole the show whole show.

Sue slipping into bed to blackmail the principal to get back to coaching the Cheerios was just nasty! Ew, yuck, that image is stuck in my head.

Emma’s virgin confession was shocking, but given her issues with germs, not unthinkable. I did not like how Will suddenly just started throwing himself at the Vocal Adrenaline coach though. We waited all this time for Will and Emma!

Jesse and the Vocal Adrenaline coach were just mean mean mean! Clearly they do see the Glee kids as a threat if they are going so far as to spy on them via Rachel. I don’t know where they’ll go with it though, as they’ve already done the song theft story at sectionals.

Anyway, I am pumped for next week’s “Power of Madonna” episode. It’s gunna be awesome!

Harry Hamlin Joins Army Wives!

Harry Hamlin Joins Army Wives!

Harry Hamlin will be joining “Army Wives” according to TV Guide as a lawyer who is bringing a case against the Army, a case that Michael and Claudia Joy will but heads over. The episodes are to air in June.

My guess is Denise tries to sue to get Jeremy out, and Claudia Joy sides with her.

Who Is The Strangler On Housewives?

Who Is The Strangler On Housewives?

Posted by Dustin on 04.16.2010 at 10:21 pm

Some juicy good spoilers about the season finale of “Desperate Housewives” have come out in the past day. First, this coming Sunday’s episode should hopefully reveal who the strangler is, at least to the audience!

EW.com has a whole story on 5 twists for the finally, but doesn’t give too much away.

The juicy stuff though came out today. First up, TV Guide is reporting a former series regular returns for the May finale, and it looks like will be sticking over till next season to complicate things!

Zach or Will Young could be good guesses, and Zach could totally be the strangler. People have guessed that one already. However according to Radar Online Neal McDonough who played Dave was seen having lunch with Marc Cherry where the show is filmed! Dave definitely has a grudge against Susan and could have gone after Julie for sure!

Thoughts on who is returning? The only thing, if they do reveal the strangler this Sunday . . . then really is it any of these people if they are showing up in the season finale?

So Long Ugly Betty . . . Till The Movie Hits?

So Long Ugly Betty . . . Till The Movie Hits?

Posted by Dustin on 04.16.2010 at 10:15 pm

This past week was the final episode of “Ugly Betty.” Everyone basically got their happy ending.

– Amanda’s dog Halston died, but she met her biological father. It turned out he found her and that’s why he hired her as his stylist, to get to know her.
– Bobby and Hilda looked to move out and start their own home with Justin.
– Betty took the job in London and prepared to head over, while Daniel dealt with his feelings for her.
– Willy got back together with Conner, who might get out on good behavior soon thanks to helping turn over evidence on cellmates.
– Daniel quit Mode and gave Willy control, which is what he and Claire agreed on. Willy covered for the shooting incident with Tyler, claiming she was cleaning her gun and it went off.
– With Willy editor-in-chief, Mark looks to be promoted.
– Daniel followed Betty to London to ask her out to lunch, while she hinted she needed an assistant if he needed a job.

It was a good ending, I really liked how they left things with Daniel and Betty. They didn’t throw them together, but left enough hints to say it would probably happen eventually.

There is also already talk of a movie happening. Yay! I’m seeing something along the lines on “A few years later” with Betty and Daniel preparing to wed, which gets the whole gang back together?

– Oh – now that I’m thinking . . . . maybe I missed it, but did they ever resolve things with Tyler? He does know who his father is, but they didn’t have him expose or confront Cal.

Sadly Alexis didn’t make a return, so here is to hoping if they do a movie she’ll appear.

All in all, I loved the way they ended it . . . . but totally think it was canceled way before its time!

V: John May is Dead?

V: John May is Dead?

Posted by Dustin on 04.15.2010 at 10:00 pm

So this week’s “V” lead to a lot more questions! Ryan, Erica, Father Jack and that English guy went looking for John May’s coms device, seeking out John May’s step-son. We got a back story in which Ryan first met John May as he was sent by Anna to kill him. John May supposedly committed suicide, so his step-son though. But Ryan revealed the suicide note was a fake, and he claimed he killed John May. Though at the same time, meeting John, realizing his words about humanity not being inferior to them but superior in many emotional ways, led Ryan not only to the resistance but his human wife Val.

Val meanwhile began to realize that Ryan had been hiding something from her. She broke into his safe and not only found the lizard photos of the baby inside her, but all sorts of fake IDs of his. As Ryan headed home, he called her to say he was not who she thought he was and it was time to come clean . . . .

I don’t know why, but I’m having flashbacks to the Hybrid baby being born as a possible cliff hanger for the series finale. Also I can’t help but feel that John May ISN’T dead, that he went into hiding and staged his death with Ryan. We never saw Ryan kill him, even though he claimed he did.

Tyler learned that his dad isn’t his biological dad . . . well according to blood tests. Tyler had an accident when he was a teen and when he needed blood, they found out his dad’s blood type was the wrong type, he couldn’t be Tyler’s dad. Erica claimed it was a mistake, she hadn’t been with anyone else. The dad didn’t believe her and couldn’t trust her, it lead to the breakup of their marriage in the end. So who is the father? That’s the big question! Is this guy even really Erica’s original husband? Could he have been replaced at some point along the way? Maybe he’s a V perhaps? But why spy on Erica like that . . . . though her old partner was a V too . . . . What does Erica have that’s so important? They do seem to have an interest in Tyler!

Finally Chad began to realize the people the V invited to live aboard all had specific things in common. He confronted Anna, thinking these weren’t randomly chosen people at all. Anna only claimed they were people we considered broken and discarded, which is why the V invited them to live aboard. Are these people who won’t be missed? That’s what it sounds like!

Army Wives Season 4 Premier

Army Wives Season 4 Premier

Posted by Dustin on 04.14.2010 at 8:36 pm

As usual I’m behind with my thoughts. First off, it was so great to have “Army Wives” back! How I’ve missed them. We also got some resolutions to last years cliff hangers.

Jeremy’s suicide attempt failed. He didn’t even hit himself, we don’t know what the gun discharged into actually. But when the MP showed up, Denise ratted him out in a sense to try and keep him out of trouble. It didn’t work though, as they are on a base dealing with Military Law. Jeremy was eventually taken to a hospital and put on suicide watch though. Roland took over his case, and by the end of the show he broke down and admitted he felt horrible because he was glad it was his friend who died and not him.

It looked like we got a neat quick rap up . . . but not so fast. From the previews I suspect Denise tries to get Jeremy discharged from the army. Looks like that will be the storyline for awhile, will they let him go or not? I have a feeling this will put Denise back at odds with Michael!

Pam and Chase remained on the outs. She took the kids on the vacation she promised, but Chase backed out of because of work. The eldest daughter has not only figured out her parents are fighting, but it looks like she’s on mom’s side. Chase talked to both Roxy and Trevor about the issues. He confided to Trevor how he had worked so hard for this job, and it seemed nothing Trevor said about other rewards such as time with your family mattered much to Chase. In the end Pamela said she wanted Chase to quit Delta, that she couldn’t be a single parent anymore basically. She expected his answer when he returned from his latest assignment.

I can’t see them breaking up these two, as it would mean Pam is out . . . or would it? I don’t know. I keep expecting her to want to go back to work, with the kids older it could happen. I could see her being a civilian employed by the base security somehow. Without Chase would it continue to work? She ultimately wouldn’t be an Army Wife. I hope Chase does the right thing, but right now he’s my new “Frank,” IE the guy who is all about the army and only the army, family comes second.

Claudia Joy found out she was up for a Spencer Award, the highest honor an Army Wife can earn from the government. She then found out she’s competing against her arch nemesis Loraine! Ack, the monster is back! Okay really, Loraine? How long has she been married to her current husband? Not that long! I had issues there, but this is fiction and of course they had to create drama. Let’s just hope that other wife from last season isn’t also nominated, the one that took over when Michael left. SHIVERS!

The cliff hanger was Joan’s story. She was wounded saving a fellow soldier over in Iraq, was flown to Germany, and may lose her sight. She was in the OR as the show ended. As with Pam and Chase, I can’t see her being discharged. Desk duty though . . . possibly. I can also see the same conflict with Roland that Trevor and Roxy had last season because of that, so I hope they don’t rehash that storyline again.

And that’s how Sue . . . wait never mind. Wrong show!
