V The Miniseries

V The Miniseries

The onslaught of commercials for “V” have begun on ABC. The miniseries begins November 3rd, and from what it seems, concludes sometime the following year. My guess is they are hoping to grab both November and February sweeps with the show. Originally it was set to just be a one season show, now it’s been broken up into a mini-series format it would seem.

Below is an extended trailer for the miniseries, which many of the shorter commercials now airing are from.

Your thoughts? Will you tune in? As a fan of the original I will, but the idea of remakes bug me as they rarely work out.

  1. Part of me is looking forward to the new V, and part of me dreads it. The first was so good, it so reinvented the sci-fi genre that I dont think anything could match that.

And there are things in it that I cannot see working nwo…. but that is just me

  2. I just watched the original and the sequel not to long ago. Loved them. I never got the show NBC tried to spin off from them and became a bomb though.

  3. LOL. I watched them all and loved it all… though the brief series left a lot to be desired, but it was okay. I just cannot help but wonder what they are going to do given most know the series.

  4. Well they;ve clearly done a little re-tweaking. The TV reporter is now a guy, and Scott Wolf doesn’t look like he’ll be falling so easily. They also have an FBI agent rather than a doctor as the lead.

However they’ve clearly left the lizard part in. Not sure if they’ll redo the canary scene or not, Peta might protest 🙂

  5. The fact that this is being done directly by NBC scares me. I grew up watching sci-fi shows like the original V and love the idea of a remake if done by SYFY, like BSG. I will be giving it a change though, have to say the commercials at least have me wanting to see how it goes.
