Big Brother 11 Finale! Live Blog From East Coast!
Posted by Dustin on 09.15.2009 at 9:11 pm
This is a live blog, which I’ll update as important things happen on screen. As I’m on the east coast, this has spoilers for those in central or pacific times that have yet to see the show!
We of course got the usual recaps before the real show finally began, and this time they recapped the whole season as quick as they could . . . (Seriously if you haven’t watched so far, why would you watch now and need the recap!)
We had to see how the house guests privately reacted to Jordan winning. Kevin was loving it, he felt Natalie would have betrayed him and felt if Jordan one it all, she’d take him. Natalie of course realized she had to kiss some ass to hope she’d be chosen.
Natalie hoped Kevin would take her to the end as they agreed, but secretly Kevin said he had no plans to take her as she has too many friends in the jury house (so he thinks). When Kevin had the chance, he talked to Jordan to make sure their final 2 deal was still on board. She was, but she didn’t think he would pick her, but he swore he would. Jordan however admitted to the DR that she’d take Natalie, as she couldn’t win against Kevin (Oh no!)
Jordan swore to Natalie her final 2 deal with her is genuine, just like she told the DR. Kevin meanwhile began to realize he had no chance to win against either Jordan or Natalie. Natalie tried to convince him if he was up against her, has some some guaranteed votes. She said if he screws her then she will vote for Jordan. She says some vote personally, some vote on gameplay. Natalie began to realize that Kevin might not take her to the end, and she was “upset” with him.
We then went to the jury house where everyone wondered who would walk in. Many were shocked when Michelle walked in! Jessie cheered like he had just won the whole game. Jeff and Russell weren’t happy to see her. Michelle then told them about the next Pandora’s Box and Natalie’s LIE to them all! Michelle then was told the truth about Natalie’s age, which Michelle had figured. Michelle was shocked to find how much everyone basically hated Natalie the LIAR in the jury house. They all made gagging noises when they saw her nominations outfit. Lydia called her queen of the trailer park. Jeff said because of her outfit, he wouldn’t vote for her!
The jury, minus the final member, all gathered to debate the final 3. They agreed winning was a strong quality, but the final three are not those people and took a different road to the end. Jeff and Lydia were fighting over Jordan and Kevin with each other! Jessie felt Kevin and Natalie played better than Jordan, but Jeff says they had many chances to vote Jordan out and nobody did. He says they must have seen something they liked, and she played smart. Russell says Jordon was sweet, but what was her power play? Lydia named what Kevin won, but Jeff named off what Jordan won. Lydia called Jordan Jeff’s marionette, but Jeff pointed out Jessie’s hand was up her back! Russell directed the conversation (fight) to Natalie. Russell felt Natalie’s strategy was to lose, because she couldn’t beat anyone, and therefore she wasn’t a threat. Michelle said it was smart of Natalie to attach herself to whoever was HOH that week. Jessie said something incoherent about Natalie, while Jeff said Natalie by no means dissevers to be here. Jeff said NAtalie could be 18, 24 or 95 . . . she acted like she was 12!
Lydia continued playing up Kevin. Michelle agreed Kevin’s lies were a good play, while Jeff admitted getting him out was a smart move on Kevin’s part. Michelle also reminded them they had the chance to give questions and answers that will help them decide. Lydia pointed out they had to see through who was being honest and who was kissing their ass to get the vote.
Kevin and Jordan finally played the final HOH game, which involved statements made by the members of the jury while they were in the jury house. They had to pick out the completion of the statement from two choices. They came to a tie, and they had to go to a tie breaker, which of course was a number question. The question was including tie breaker votes, how many total votes have been cast this season. Jordan won!
We went to the living room for the live vote, with Kevin and Nat begging Jordan for her vote. Nat talked about how they’ve bonded and become friends these last few weeks, and she’d hope she kept her in this game. Kevin then basically also begged to be kept in the house. He said he always looked out for her and never went after her. He said she was Gucci!
Julie told Jordan she was guarenteed second place and 50K, but this was a 1/2 million dollar decision. Jordan hated having to do this, between both of them she felt she would always come in second. She said she kept her word with most things, and she has to go with her gut. She said Kevin had won a lot as well, and she had to evict him on strategy. She said it wasn’t personal. He gave her a hug as she said she felt awful, but he says he understood and it wasn’t personal. He knew it was a good decision.
A confused Kevin didn’t know what he was to do, but eventually left lol. Meanwhile Natalie thanked Jordan for this. They both discussed which would win. Jordan was sure she she will come in second no matter what.
Julie talked with Kevin, and Kevin admitted to her that Jordan made the smart move. Kevin said she might have the chance to win, and he wasn’t mad as this was a game. Julie also asked Kevin without revealing who he’d vote for, what is important for him in a winner? He said who had the better strategy. Kevin watched his goodbye messages.
Julie welcomed the sequestered members to the stage, and they then learned Kevin was the final juror. Lydia of course was crushed. Lydia, when asked by Julie what she was thinking, she said “We have two witches in the final 2.” Julie let them know Jordan won the final HOH and evicted Kevin.
Julie gave each juror a chance to ask questions to them.
Russell asked Jordan what her strategy before she came in, and how did it change as she got in. She said she told herself not to trust anyone, but then she felt everyone was nice and she trusted everyone. Then the fights began, so she decided to be herself (goofy, clueless, funny, smiling) and see how far it got her.
Lydia asked Natalie who was her biggest threat and what role she played in their eviction. She felt it was Lydia because of Jessie. (Do we think that was honest or a LIE lol).
Jeff asked Jordan other than aligning with her, what was her best move? She said honestly getting rid of Kevin, not in a bad way, but she felt too many people were mad at Jeff for the “wizard power” and she wouldn’t win against Kevin because of that.
Michelle asked why she felt it critical to tell them she was engaged, if she even was. She said she really was engaged and (okay I’m falling behind and Natalie just lies lol).
Jessie asked Jordan why she deserves to win? She said she got to where she is after Jeff left on her own, not depending on anyone else.
Russell asked Natalie why she deserved to win? Natalie said she came in aligning with strong players, while not posing a threat herself. She said by aligning herself with her allies, she didn’t have to win every comp. Oh and she was true to her alliances and kept her word!
Kevin asked Jordan what she did better than Natalie? Jordan says they both were the same, they laid low and were honest with their alliances. She says she’s won an HOH, a veto, she did things to further herself in the game.
It was then time for the VOTE! But first Nat and Jordan plead their cases.
Jordan said she tried to stay true to her alliance. She was always outnumbered, she tried to lay under the radar and was afraid people would think she was carried through the game. However she’s proud how far she got on her own, and she knows Natalie has more friends in the jury house. However she won the two final rounds, is here because of her moves, and that nothing was ever personal.
Natalie said she may not have won the most, but by Jeff putting her up against Jessie, it showed she was playing the game and aligned with the strong people. She said she was aligned with Jessie, Chima and Ronnie and she stayed true to them, and to Kevin. She played the game without backstabbing her own alliance and hopes that gets her a vote.
The jury then got to place their votes. Without revealing their vote, they got to say one statement. Jessie said to Jordan “Kunamatata.” Lydia told Jordan she loves a good blond! Russell says he chose the person who played from start to finish the best game. Jeff told Jordan he was proud of her and knew she could do it. Michelle voted for the strongest female in the game. Kevin said he was voting on strategy. Julie revealed about America’s vote and logged in America’s vote for us.
Of course we went to a commercial, and we were told Braden, Casey, Laura and Ronnie would be back to reveal lies and settle scores! Of course this means we won’t find out the winner till the last minute I’m sure!
Ronnie told them all that while he was labeled the rat, Natalie took lying to a whole new level and he bowed down to her. Nat and Jordan could all hear this, and Ronnie told Jordan that Natalie lied to her more than anyone in the game. He revealed her age, and he was pissed that she didn’t tell him! Natalie says she didn’t tell Kevin and she only told Chima and Jessie.
Casey revealed to everyone that Kevin and Natalie made up the lie that Russell was after him! Jeff was then showed the video where they came up with the lie, as well as diary room sessions of Kevin saying “Jeff is an idiot if he goes for this.” Jeff said Michelle confirmed the lie as part of her gameplay though, but he wasn’t mad at anyone.
Braden simply said he was in awe that Jessie had all the girls in his bed, he was taking notes as to how to get girls from him.
After a commercial, Julie asked the first ones out what they thought about Chima, who was NOT at the finale. Laura said as a fan of the show, thousands of people would want to be there, so she was horrified she threw it away. She also felt bad for her alliance who she through under the bus. Kevin agreed with Laura, as Chima did throw them under the bus and so many people also tried out. As nobody wanted to defend Chima, Julie moved on.
Julie went to Ronnie’s speech to Michelle as to how she was the worst human being he’s ever met. Julie asked Ronnie what she has to say? Michelle says she doesn’t know how she upset him that badly, but she thinks he was just being melodramatic. Ronnie said when you are in that house you feel like you are fighting for your life. He said it was a bad statement, and he apologized.
Julie then went to Jessie about his relationship with Lydia, confronting him with him and Lydia in bed together! She then gave him the dictionary definition of platonic, which he used to define the relationship! She then asked Lydia if the relationship continued in the jury house? Lydia said nothing . . . .Julie said their silence said a lot!
Julie asked Jeff where he and Jordan go from here? Jeff said they’ll see if she wins or not! He said joking! Jeff would only say they had to see what happens outside the house as it’s so crazy in there. Jordan agreed. Julie then pressed him about the Hawaii trip he won. Jeff would only say she’s on the short list.
Julie reminded the houseguests about the 25K prize from America’s vote, but first the winner would be announced. Julie pulled the keys and America’s key to show who they voted for.
America: Jordan
Jessie: Jordan
Lydia: Jordan
Russell: Natalie
Jeff: Jordan (who wins with 4 votes!)
Jordan came out and hugged and celebrated. The final votes were revealed (after commercial)
Michelle: Jordan and Kevin:Natalie. Jordan WON by 5 to 2.
Julie asked what she’d do with the money? Jordan said she’d put a down payment on a house for her, her mom and brother. Help her aunt’s kids go to college. She said for herself, maybe a new car. See America, sometimes the nice people do win!
Julie revealed who America voted for, and said it wasn’t even close, Jeff won the 25K.
That’s a wrap . . . till season 12! Jeff and Jordan will apparently be on the Today’s Show, and Jeff is already scheduled to appear on the Bonnie Hunt show on Friday.
Army Wives: Lies, Doubts and Confessions
Posted by Dustin on 09.15.2009 at 7:36 pm
As usual, a quick recap, then some thoughts . . .
First up, Claudia Joy was STILL not accepting her diabetes. Michael and Emmalynn got her this fancy medic alert bracelet, knowing she wouldn’t go for the plain jane one, but she was miffed by the gift. It was later at Emmalynn’s hockey practice where she met the captain of the JV team did she finally accept things. The captain also had diabetes, and was taking her readings and giving insulin to herself in the stands while Claudia Joy was nearby. They struck up a conversation, and well, Claudia Joy basically realized that a teenager was coping with this disease while she was acting like a child about it. She finally told the girls about it, showing them how to use the insulin should anything happen to her while she was with them, and later put on her bracelet.
Pam visited with a beat-up Chase at the army hospital, where he claimed he was involved in a helicopter crash and couldn’t contact her until he was debriefed. He was released and allowed to go home, where the kids were terrified when they saw how badly beat-up he was. Later when Pamela was helping him get into bed, one of his bandages came off. She saw burn marks and realized there was no helicopter crash. She was a cop, she knows the signs, he was tortured. When confronted, he said he was in a helicopter crash, leave it. Clearly he wasn’t allowed to tell her what happened.
Trevor continued to try and persuade the girl from the local high school to sign up for the army, do what was best for her, not worry about her family and how they expected her to support them. He had Joan talk with her, as Joan came from a similar environment. After seeing how important Joan had become and learning what she had done in the army, the girl officially signed up and became Trevor’s first recruit.
Meanwhile Trevor, because he hadn’t deployed, reminded Roxy of a deal they had made. When he was home, they’d work on another kid. Roxy wasn’t sure and admitted to Pamela how she had spent so long trying to find the right father for her boys, she didn’t want things to change. Pamela realized Roxy was afraid Trevor would favor the new baby as it was biologically his, and that she was being silly. Later after watching Trevor with the boys she chose to throw away her birth control.
Joan got her orders from Michael this week, she officially ships out next week! She broke down in tears as she held her baby.
Denise began working as a paramedic-in-training and got high praise from her supervisor. Meanwhile over in Iraq, Jeremy’s friend was killed while on patrol. Jeremy was feeling guilty as his friend was in the turret of the Humvee, where only moments before Jeremy was. Jeremy let him go up as he kept complaining his feet were hurting from walking beside the Humvee. Jeremy called home and his parents tried to keep Jeremy from blaming himself. Jeremy said he’d be home in a week, they were both supposed to be going home.
My thoughts . . .
First up, Trevor and his recruits. While he’s on a high right now that he signed that girl, I think things are going to come crashing down for him. That overweight teen who can’t seem to keep up with the PT group, but is pushing himself? Yeah for some reason I see a health scare coming up with him, and Trevor getting into hot water for it.
As for Roxy and the baby . . . will she really get pregnant? Probably, but clearly it’s also going have some kind of drama involved. She’ll probably find out she’s pregnant when Trevor ends up being taken off recruiting and shipped back out!
I’m very glad Claudia Joy came clean with everyone and is dealing with her diabetes better, as watching her act the way she was . . . well I was growing tired of it. Claudia Joy is the strongest woman on this show, I felt this was almost out of character for her really. I mean she had a worse time dealing with this than Amanda’s death it seemed!
I feel bad for Pamela as she knows Chase is lying to her, but she also has to realize this is what she married into. As a former cop, she has to also know she wouldn’t have been able to share details of cases or stake-outs with Chase either. But yes, it still sucks for her or anyone in this situation ๐
Next week’s episode looks like a total filler, a 40ths themed episode which goes back in time. I think somebody has been watching too much “Designing Women” at Lifetime!

The True Blood Season Finale
Posted by Dustin on 09.14.2009 at 2:14 pm
So last night was the “True Blood” season finale. Um, yeah, I don’t know. I guess I expected a lot more, but it was kinda slow . . .
The show opened with Eric and the Queen talking. She warned him not to drink from Sookie, she was something else, not human, and she didn’t need another vampire infatuated with her. She was also not pleased that Bill knew Eric was selling V. She warned him that nobody was to know she ordered him to sell it, or that it was her blood!
Most of the first half hour was dedicated to killing Maryanne. Maryanne was getting ready for her wedding to the horned god. They built this idol and put the egg in it, which was an ostrich egg and symbol of fertility. It was through the egg they thought the god would be reborn (or something).
Jason and Andy showed up to rescue Sookie, only to be taken by Maryanne’s spell. Sookie was forced to be a bride’s maid at the “wedding.” Maryanne wanted Sookie to blast her again like she did before, but Sookie didn’t know how. Maryanne informed her because she couldn’t fall under her spell, it meant she was supernatural.
Bill showed up with Sam, offering Sam as her sacrifice if she’d let Sookie go. She did, but Sookie was furious with Bill. Bill said they had a plan. Eggs stabbed Sam in the chest, and Bill told Sookie to use her power now. Sam mentally told Sookie to destroy the idol. She blasted it with her powers and Sam managed to escape with Bill. Bill let Sam feed off his blood to heal, then Sam morphed into a big white ox and showed up. Maryanne thought her God had returned and offered herself to him. Sam rammed her in the chest with a horn, morphed back to a man and ripped her heart out. She then withered and died.
The next day (and 2nd half hour), the town was getting back to normal. However nobody remembered what had happened. Several people thought Maryanne was an alien who erased their memories, others said they heard LSD was put in their water as a big experiment.
Andy was given his job back when the sheriff realized Andy hadn’t been lying.
Hoyt’s mother turned back to normal with the rest of the town. Hoyt told her the crazy things she said about his dad, that he had killed himself. She told him it was true, which upset Hoyt. His mama had been lying to him all these years, guilting him to stay with her. She claimed she just didn’t want to lose him too. He wished he had let Jessica kill her! He then stormed off. Hoyt went to see Jessica that night to apologize, but she was not home. She was off seducing a trucker and then drinking his blood!
Sam decided to take off for a few days, asking Sookie to manage things. He went to see his adopted parents, the Merlottes. His mother apologized for what they had done. She said they were broke, they had no money, then they saw what they saw that night. He says so you left me? You abandoned me? Sam didn’t want an apology, he wanted to know who his real parents were. The mom said she couldn’t tell him, that she promised not to ever say who they were, that they were bad people. His father, who was attached to a ventilator and clearly dying, wrote the name on a piece of paper and gave it to Sam, along with saying he was sorry too.
Meanwhile Eggs wanted to know what he had done. When he came out of the trance he had blood on his hands. He begged Sookie to help him, he knew she could. She helped him remember. He was mortified. Even though everyone told him he was under Maryanne’s spell. He took the sacrificial dagger to Andy and begged him to arrest him. Jason showed up and it looked like Eggs was about to harm Andy to force him to arrest him. Jason had a gun, shot and killed Eggs! Andy took the gun, wiped the prints and told Jason to leave now. The rest of the town heard the shot and Andy said the killer confessed and tried to attack him. Tara ran to Eggs in tears . . .
Finally Bill took Sookie to a fancy French restaurant where he proposed marriage to her. She was in tears, but found herself unable to say yes for some reason. She began going off about how she didn’t know what she was, or if she was even human herself. She said she needed a moment and ran to the bathroom. She calmed down, put the ring on her finger and went out to tell Bill yes. However while in the bathroom someone wrapped a silver chain around Bill’s neck and kidnapped him!
My Thoughts
So we were left with two major questions, and a lot of little ones. First what the heck is Sookie? Okay I cheated and looked it up online ๐ But we also found that with Jason being taken by Maryanne, he wasn’t supernatural. Is Sookie adopted then? Or maybe she and Jason are half-siblings and don’t know this?
The second question is who has taken Bill? It definitely seems that it’s either Eric or the Queen. At least that’s what the show seems to want us to think.
Some little questions . . .
Since Sam drank from Bill, is he gunna have sex dreams about him ๐ Lafayette did about Eric! Maybe it only works if you are attracted to the sex of the vamp you drink from ๐
Sam’s parents are “bad people” according to his adopted mother. Hmmm, interested in who they are and why they are bad.
Why is the Queen selling her blood? That one I just can’t figure out at all.
Finally it’s clear Jason is going to be wracked with guilt over shooting Eggs next season. How will he cope? Hopefully he won’t go back to V or the church again. Been there and done those stories! Maybe he’ll hook up with Tara (she loved him in the beginning of season 1) and the guilt will really eat at him.
Post Note!
Check out EW’s Interview With Alan Ball!. It promises some spoilers for next season!
Big Brother:HOH Comp Part 2!
Posted by Dustin on 09.10.2009 at 9:03 pm
We saw a recap as usual. Kevin revealed that he intended to take Jordan to the end, not Natalie, as he felt he couldn’t win against Nat! Nat meanwhile was glad that Michelle was gone, as she felt she was “evil” and then called her a bitch!
The end of the HOH comp that started on Tuesday was aired, which had Kevin winning. So Kevin goes to the final HOH comp, with Jordan and Natalie competing in part 2 to see who would battle Kevin for the final HOH. (BTW controversy going on on the net that Nat CHEATED and put rubber bands around her key to help keep her grip on it).
Jordan fell first, with Nat throwing it for Kevin, after making him swear to take her to the end. Kevin was pissed, as it was their plan originally for her to fall and throw the first comp, but she kept swearing to him she could stay here all night and he better be loyal to her. She didn’t wanna do it! She shouldn’t have, as later Kevin told the DR he just needs to get to round 3, win and kick Nat out!
Julie talked to the three houseguests to let them know that all three of them will make it to finale night on Tuesday, which is a first. Julie said Jordan and Nat would compete live in part 2 of the HOH comp, but the third round would be played live on finale night. She said the evicted houseguest would join the rest of the jury and question the final 2 live (which also has never been done!).
We then got to see Jeff “face the music of the jury house.” Everyone all cheered! Jeff said bring the stones on. He revealed Kevin stabbed him in the back and got him out. Jeff was also pleased to find out that everyone in the jury house had turned on Nat for her LIES.
Janelle, Mike Boogy, Danielle (not Danielle Donato) and Evil Dick joined Julie to talk about their thoughts on the current players. Julie asked who played the best game? Danielle said don’t hate, but Natalie as she has LIED so well and got Kevin to do all her dirty work. Janelle said Jeff getting rid of Russell was the worst move of the season. Mike Boogey said Jeff getting rid of Jessie as well as Natalie and Kevin’s LIE about Russell were the two best moves. Evil also agreed the LIE was the best move as it took out the final best player in the game. Julie asked about Chima. Mike said Chima should be given a break, but Evil Dick said she lost sight of the end goal. Danielle said she was a brat, Janelle said she was a diva! Everyone said they felt Kevin would win the game.
Natalie and Jordan then began part two of the final 3-part HOH comp. Basically they played this odd ski-ball kind of game where they were trying to aim for the HOH’s, in order they got it this season. Natalie got five answers correct, and Jordan got nine right!
Julie then went live to tell them the results, that Jordan won! Jordan will face off with Kevin LIVE next TUESDAY! Sunday’s episode will be a recap and “funniest moments of the houseguests we haven’t seen yet.”
We were then informed about America’s final vote, we are the 7th juror! We don’t know who the final 2 are, so we have been given 3 scenarios to vote for who we want to win. (I assume this is only used should there be a tie). Go to CBS.com to vote!
The final moments of the show we saw the final 3 talking, which was basically Natalie explaining how she screwed up, making a million excuses to explain her failure.
Glee: Don’t Stop Believin!
Posted by Dustin on 09.10.2009 at 5:00 pm
So last night was the season premier of “Glee” on Fox, even though the first episode really has been around all summer. I have to say I adore this show. I was never in the glee club, but I was a band and orchestra geek. This show takes me back to the good and bad aspects of high school.
I absolutely love the actors in the show, and Mercedes is my favorite of the glee-kids so far. She has a mouth on her and I love it! Jane Lynch as the head of the Cheerios is outstanding as well, but she’s great it everything she does.
The musical numbers of course make the show, and last nights “Push-It” was so hilarious I laughed out loud. I cannot wait to see what else they perform on this show, and I can’t wait until Kristen Chenowith joins the cast.
I expect this to be my new favorite show of the season ๐

Ellen Degeneres New Idol Judge
Posted by Dustin on 09.10.2009 at 12:03 pm
EW broke the news last night that Ellen Degeneres is the new “American Idol” judge, replacing Paula Abdul.
Good or bad idea? I think she’ll have great feedback, but a lot think she has little to do with the music industry and wonder why her? Did they chose her just because she’s Ellen?
She should have something to say on her talk show today I’m sure!
