Desperate Housewives Recruits Soap Stars

According to Ausiello, Marc Cherry will create 8 “soap opera like commercials” for ABC and Sprint, to be aired as commercials during “Desperate Housewives.” They will feature a soap-like murder storyline, serving as a background to introduce two new characters. The 35 second spots begin airing with the premier on September 27th.

At the center of the story will be Rebecca Staab from “Y&R” and David Chisum from “OLTL.” The characters (yet to be named) officially join the show on the fifth episode of the season airing October 25th according to ABC Soaps In Depth. They’ll apparently be moving into Edie’s old house!
