Army Wives: Reunited & It Feels So Good

Army Wives: Reunited & It Feels So Good

This week seemed to be a slow week for the “Wives” and their husbands, but it was a good one.

Frank and Denise continued their dates, but intimacy remained a stumbling block for Frank. When he saw Denise’s bike parked outside, he winced. She felt she should get rid of it, but he said no as it was her bike. Denise decided to sell it anyways, thinking it was a reminder to Frank. She later got word over the net that she had a buyer.

Later Frank and Denise got down to the business of making love. He also surprised her when he showed up for a date riding a bike! (I am not sure if he bought her bike or not, or got one of his own). They worked things out and she moved back in. However her homecoming was a short one. Moments after Frank carried her over the threshold he got the call that he was headed back to Iraq.

Haneen was preparing to return to Iraq to be with her aunt and uncle. Emmalynn googled her hometown and found out how dangerous it would be for her to go home, she couldn’t go. She told her mom, who told Michael. Michael made some calls and it seemed her aunt and uncle agreed, they were actually trying to find a way out of Iraq because of the danger their family was still in. Michael helped to get them relocated to Turkey, with hopes of going home to Iraq one day.

Claudia Joy went with Haneen to meet her aunt and uncle. Emmalynn wanted to go too, but her parents forbid it. She had SATs coming up. Also Michael was hosting an important dinner, which Claudia Joy had to miss as she was with Haneen. Emmalynn took up her mothers duties hosting, and she and Michael began growing closer again.

As Trevor studied for his advancement exam, his buddy Brian Day didn’t seem eager to advance his career at all. Joan became curious and started asking around. It seems Day has some anger issues. It got trickier when she found out he was seeing Roland and Terrance outside of the army’s docs, so if anything was really wrong . . . well Roland and Terrance didn’t have to divulge the info to the army. This put Roland in a hard spot, the guy was Terrance’s patient. Joan snooped on her own and found out from another officer that Day has had anger issues, he almost got himself arrested at a local bar for putting his fist through a window over a woman.

Finally Roxy was worried this week when Finn didn’t seem to be paying attention in school or completing his assignments. His teacher felt he might have ADD and should be tested. Roxy thought it was impossible, he is the brightest one in their family, always able to memorize everything. The teacher said sometimes slow children excel in one or two things! Well Roxy was worried, she didn’t want Finn to go through what she did, feeling stupid and being teased because she had a disability. He was tested and it turned out he was gifted. He just bored to death in his current class. Roxy was pleased, but then faced another problem. What if because of finances they couldn’t do enough for Finn now?

My Thoughts
First I loved that Frank “grew” as a person and not only accepted the bike into his and Denise’s relationship, but made the symbol theirs in a way as opposed to what it used to stand for. Sadly though Frank’s shipping back out. I still can’t knock the feeling something bad will happen to Frank or Jeremy.

I really hope we haven’t seen the last of Haneen’s character. She was a great addition to the show and I’d love to have her back even for just a visit.

Finally I was horrified by how Finn’s teacher spoke to Roxy! I thought she would have up and smacked the woman when she said “Sometimes slow children excel in one or two things.” I mean seriously, way to basically tell someone in a horrible way “I’m sorry, your child is Rainman.” She should be fired!

  1. OMG – I really agree with you about Finn’s teacher. I thought she was being so condescending! I understand how a lot of children’s parents could be in denial of issues but there is no reason to be so insensitive!
