True Blood: Venturing To Dallas
Posted by Dustin on 07.13.2009 at 2:56 pm
This week on “True Blood,” Sookie, Bill and Jessica went to Dallas to find the missing sheriff. Sookie insisted they take Jessica, not only so she didn’t get into trouble left home alone, but so she and Bill could learn things about each other and bond some. Upon arriving, some man posing as their limo driver tried to kidnap Sookie. With some glamoring, he revealed The Church of the Sun set him to find her.
Back in Bon Temps, Eric stalked Lafayette outside of his house. Lafayette’s leg was infected and Eric was offering blood to heal it. As it turned out, Eric only wanted to keep dibs on Lafayette as he was important to Sookie for some reason, why Eric couldn’t imagine.
Back in Dallas, Eric showed up after Bill called him. Bill became increasingly interested as to why Eric was so interested in this Godrich’s disappearance. Bill said Eric was far more interested in this than he would normally be. Eric would only say that Godrich was 1000 years older than him, very powerful, so if the humans could take someone like him . . . what does that mean for the rest of them?
Back at the hotel for vampires, Jessica ordered room service, a tasty human to feed off of. The bellhop who brought him however was of more interest to Sookie. It seemed he was a telepath too. When he ran from her, she chased him down the hall.
Back in Bon Temp, Sam and Daphne were enjoying their midnight swim and getting closer. When Daphne got out of the water though, Sam saw the scratches on her back.
Tara moved into Sookie’s house. Later she was crying as it was her birthday, and her birthdays always ended up sucking. Maryanne and Eggs showed up, they planned a huge party for her, but her moving out spoiled it. So they moved the party over to her new place. By the end of the night Maryanne was doing her vibration thing, sending everyone into an orgy like frenzy. If they weren’t doing it, they were shoving food in their mouth. One girl was eating dirt! Again their eyes turned black.
Meanwhile Sam was at the party with Daphne. They were getting close to doing it, when Sam stopped and said he had to tell he something. She said she knew what he was and then dragged him off to a bedroom. Out in her forest glade, Maryanne began to transition into the beast that attacked Sookie!
At the Church of the Sun, the reverend and his wife invited Jason to join their elite soldiers of the sun team. This of course just angered Jason’s bunkmates, who claimed he was just a dumb toy for the wife to play with. Jason moved into the house, right down the hall from the rev and his wife. She claimed the quarters they normally give the soldiers is full, he’s a lucky boy.
My Thoughts
I’m really liking Jessica more and more. Her and Hoyt were adorable this week, so I hope we get to see more of them. I’m still having an issue with the whole “she’s really only 17 thing” though. I loved when Sookie also said “I think I’m going to like her!”
So Eric doesn’t want to hurt Lafayette, but keep track on him (via his blood). Hmmm, something tells me he’s hoping to save Lafayette’s life down the road to endear himself to Sookie, who it’s obvious he has a thing for.
I loved Sookie meeting the other telepath, but I hope they don’t intend to inject him as another love interest. Sookie has way too many men interested in her already.
Oh Jason, poor dumb Jason . . . He had the best line of the show during the origins of evil conversation . . . “Evil is when it’s premedicated.” I thought originally there was some kinky sex thing going on with Jason, now though after the whole kidnapping attempt of Sookie . . . it seems obvious the rev and his wife are using Jason to somehow get to Sookie. She’s who they want, but why? Do they not have this Godrich person after all?
This one I can’t claim is mine 🙂 Speculation has it that Daphne is the pig to Maryanne’s monster.
Big Brother: Sunday July 12th
Posted by Dustin on 07.12.2009 at 9:01 pm
First up, unfortunately CBS was running over, and “Big Brother” started 15 minutes late. This means I’d have to turn it off to watch “True Blood.”
Basically tonight was the nomination ceremony and the new and improved food comp. I know who went up on the block already fortunately, thanks to “After Dark.” So missing it wasn’t a big deal.
At the food comp, which has been revamped this year, the athletes didn’t have to play as Jessie was HOH. So they lived well. The other clicks competed, knowing not only would they be on slop, but something worse would be coming their way.
The brains lost, and Chima basically threw a fit at being on slop. They not only were on slop, but their room has been turned into a gray, boring metallic, minimalistic room with no decor and mats for beds. Chima continued to throw a fit about it, calling it an insane asylum.
At the nomination ceremony (which I didn’t see) Jessie puts up Chima and Lydia. I can’t say I know what his reasons were, or at least what he said unfortunately. Through “After Dark” Chima’s reaction to the game was supposedly the reason she was put up. Anyone who watched it all, feel free to leave comments about the noms.
Big Brother: Nomination Ceremony Airs Tonight, POV Ceremony Real Time Today

Tonight Jessie’s nominations for who he wants on the block are announced. I believe the food competition is tonight (as some of the house are already on slop).
In real time today though, the winner of the POV will decide whether or not to use it. Read on for some “After Dark” spoilers.

There isn’t too much reason to recap to the show finale as far as I can tell, but I will provide the basics before getting into my thoughts. If you have NOT watched the finale yet, stop reading unless you want to be spoiled!
Wakefield was caught, placed in jail, and revealed to Abby that her mom had a kid, which she had and gave up. Wakefield said he found “him.” Madison meanwhile revealed someone brought her and Wakefield food when they were in the sewers, so he had a helper.
Others (SUlly, Jimmy, Abby) managed to find a boathouse with a radio and call the coastguard. Wakefield escaped jail and killed Danny. He then went after Trish, who ran into Henry. Henry turned out to be Wakefield’s kid and his accomplice. Henry then killed Trish!
The 2nd hour started with a flashback of Henry and Abby hanging out as kids. It was clear Abby’s mom knew Henry was her kid and she gave him up to Henry’s adopted mom.
Henry and Wakefield regrouped, while Shea and Madison joined with Sully. The coast guard was delayed, so Sully got Shea and Madison into a boat to get off the island. He wouldn’t go as he didn’t want to leave Henry. Henry showed up and played innocent, luring Sully out to help him find Trish. Sully began to realize someone helped Wakefield out. They played what if, and Henry basically admitted that if he found out he was adopted and lied to his whole life he’d want revenge too.
Abby and Jimmy were off on their own and found Trish dead. Abby and Jimmy made it to the boat house and talked to the coast guard, finding out Henry and Sully were told to go to the marina to meet with the coast guard.
Henry then told Sully that Danny was dead, he killed Trish and then he killed his brother JD! Henry said Sully deserved to know the truth before . . . John Wakefield is his dad and the only person who was ever honest with him. Henry admitted he killed the reverend, Katherine, and Richard; Wakefield killed the others. The money they found was Uncle Marty’s, to invest in Malcolm’s brewery . . . he set Malcolm up to find the money just to see what he’d do. Wakefield showed up and Sully got killed by Henry.
Henry and Wakefield lured Abby and Jimmy to them. Henry met them and played innocent still. He lead them to the church where Trish’s body was placed at the altar. Wakefield then showed, Jimmy and him fought. The chopper came, when Jimmy told her to signal . .. Wakefield said “Henry she’s getting away!” Jimmy spiked Wakefield with a flare, but Henry seemed to shoot Jimmy.
Henry went after Abby, told her that Wakefield got Jimmy. Abby then began to realize Henry was the accomplice. Wakefield showed up and Henry killed him, his own father! Abby knew it was Henry, he was the kid and the accomplice. Henry knocked her out as the chopper flew by.
Shea and Madison made it to safety and were talked to by the police. They were told John Wakefield’s body was found, he’s dead, as are everyone else, and basically Shea and Madison are the only survivors.
Back in the island, Henry hid out with Trish in someone’s home. Henry said he chose her over his father, admitted he was the Wakefield kid, and basically he’d been in love with her since kids. He used the wedding to lure her back to the Island. Abby realized Henry not only loved her, but that he was her brother!
Henry explained he met Wakefield the day he was on his killing spree years ago, and how they had a connection when their eyes met. A year later Wakefield found him and told him the truth. Henry thought it was a powerful love his father had for him. Henry said he always had certain impulses, he just didn’t understand till he met his dad. Henry was killing all over the northwest coast, he was the copycat the Sheriff was tracking off the island.
Abby was sickened that Henry knew the truth all along. Henry claimed he was done killing, he chose life with her and that he loved her, he was different than his dad. She tried to run, only to find Jimmy tied up and still alive.
Henry said he faked all their deaths, the police will think they are all dead in a fire in the church. Abby asked why Jimmy was alive? Henry said Shea and Madison got off the island, not part of the plan, so he has set Jimmy up as an accomplice in order so that the two of them can live together. He thinks Jimmy will confess so that she goes free and lives.
Henry took Abby to see Jimmy later on (she agreed to leave with him if she could say goodbye). Abby attacked Henry and ran, Henry chased after her. She managed to drop a lockpick for Jimmy though. Jimmy got loose and came after Henry. They got knocked over a cliff or something while fighting, and Jimmy was stuck on the rocks below. Abby picked up a sword laying by Jimmy (I guess he had it) and she stabbed Henry who came up behind her. Henry said he loved Abby as he died.
Jimmy and Abby then got off the island on a boat while they kissed and made out. The show ended with these videos made on the boat as they were to take off for the island. Everyone was congratulating Trish and Henry on their wedding.
My Thoughts
Okay Henry? Seriously? That’s like Horror Movies 101. Sorry, but while I didn’t want it to be Henry, and even though I thought it might be shocking if it was Henry (over the more predictable Jimmy). . . seeing it happen was a let down big time. I guess at this point a lot of people as the Wakefield kid would be a letdown cause we’ve thought of everyone, but Henry? I would rather it had been Trish or even Sully, that would have been more “shocking” than Henry. People guessed Henry half-way through the season (again cause it’s the horror movie cliche). I think that is why having it be him isn’t as big of a shock as having it be someone else.
Henry being in love with his sister is very “Flowers of the Attic.” Ew ew ew! Just like we (or I) speculated it was Jimmy in love with his sister Abby . . . well again not to far off, just the wrong guy as the brother.
What I guess I did like was that the Wakefield copycat the Sheriff tracked was Henry all along. That was a nice add/twist. I had forgotten about all the killings elsewhere the Sheriff had been following.
I started to suspect Madison would be Henry’s spawn via an affair with Shea, only to make way for a sequel. That was never really revealed. I’m still not convinced she isn’t though, and if they ever wanted to do a sequel season or straight to DVD flick that she would be the killer.
Anyways, the season is already available for pre-order and comes out on September 8th. Whether it will be an uncut unrated (ie more gory/sexy) version isn’t known yet. I haven’t decided if I will buy it or not. I need to let this finale soak in for awhile 🙂
Housewives Casts Househusband and Kid
Posted by Dustin on 07.11.2009 at 11:47 am
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff have been cast as the husband and son to Drea DeMatteo’s character. The husband is a landscaper from New York, while the son is said to be “very tightly wound.”
Sounds like the mystery with this couple might have to do with their son, or maybe something he did? (That might be too much of an Applewhite repeat though).

Big Brother 11 Premiers: New HOH and Mystery Guest Revealed!
Posted by Dustin on 07.09.2009 at 8:56 pm
So tonight was the premier of “Big Brother 11.” The house guests made their way in, chose the rooms, and then got the news on the twist from Julie. They would be segmented into cliques. While they’d still be nominated and evicted as individuals, anyone in the HOH’s clique would be immune from eviction. The cliques were the athletes, popular kids, brains and the offbeats.
Julie told them which clique they were all in, they didn’t get to chose for themselves. They went out to the backyard, which has been decorated like a gym which also indicated which clique they were in.
Russell, Kevin and Natalie were the athletes. The Offbeats were Kevin, Casey and Lydia. The popular kids were Jordan, Braden and Laura. The brains were Russell, Michelle and Chima.
They then had the first HOH competition of the summer. Everyone got into these oversized underwear attached to swings/slings. They held onto these toilet seats and it was basically a “don’t let go” competition, while being stuck in a wedgie from the undies. However nobody in the yard would be HOH. It turns out there are 4 people waiting to be the thirteenth guest, and one of them would be HOH, based on which clique won. These mystery 4 were also hinted as not being strangers to America.
Julie introduced the mysterious four, one of who would be HOH. Cowboy (BB5 – Offbeat), Jessica (BB8 – Popular), Brian (BB10 – Brains), Jessie (BB10 – Athletes). Each player was assigned to a clique and one of them would win HOH depending on which clique won.
Julie told the players the deal, but not the identity of the guests and the game began. Michelle of the brains went first, then Ronnie did too. The wedgies then got worse with superwedgies. They basically got bounced in their undies. Lydia off the Offbeats went out, as did Jordan of the Popular. Kevin of the Offbeats was gone too. Jeff of the athletes went out. More superwedgies came (the 4 unknowns voted for cliques to get them).
Shema dropped, the Brains were out (so was Brian’s chance to go back in.) Casey dropped, so Cowboy was out with the Offbeats. It was down to Jessie or Jessica as the one to return to the house.
Laura of the popular crowd fell out, doing it so there was no target on her back. Braden fell, so Jessie is going back in as HOH. Jessie, by the way, stood their flexing his pecs.
So the Athletes are immune, and Jessie is the new HOH, which was revealed to the houseguests.
Sunday will be Jessie’s nomination ceremony, while Tuesday will be the POV. Thursday will be the first eviction. We have been told there is another twist waiting.
I’ll be tuning into “Big Brother After Dark” and will report on any info given there!
Major August True Blood Spoilers *update*
Posted by Dustin on 07.08.2009 at 3:35 pm
“True Blood” is probably the one show I really don’t want to read spoilers about, as it’s so good and I look forward to the surprises every week. However if you need spoilers, well Ausiello posted a mother load of August spoilers that are show-by-show synopsis straight from HBO. I glanced at them, but then just had to stop. Too much detail! Also note, these are for August, so some of them are like “huh?” cause these are a month down the line.
