Big Brother: Luxury Comp, Ronnie’s Nominations, After Dark Spoilers
Posted by Dustin on 07.19.2009 at 9:15 pm
Chima continued to irritate house guests, lashing out, arguing, trying to find out who betrayed her and almost sent her home. Ronnie lied to everyone to keep them from finding out he voted to send Braden home.
First up was a luxury comp, which Dan returned to host. There could be two winners, one man and one woman, and they’d get a screening of the new movie “The Ugly Truth.” Chima and Casey were the winners. They also got to chose which team would be the “Have Nots” for the week. Chima just opened her mouth and sentenced the populars to it. Casey wanted to rock-paper-scissors between the pops and the athletes, but Chima was firm. He decided to put it all on her, if she wanted to piss people off go for it! She did!
At the nomination ceremony, Ronnie put up Laura and Jeff, basically not saying much significant other than if they wanted to be here then fight for the Veto.
Later tonight I’ll add “After Dark” spoilers to the post below the fold. The veto has been played and won, but it seems they haven’t had the ceremony yet.
“After Dark” spoilers after the jump, there is only one real thing to post . . .

Big Brother 11: First Eviction and New HOH!
Posted by Dustin on 07.16.2009 at 8:53 pm
Tonight was the first eviction and the appointing of the new HOH. If you haven’t seen the show, step away now!
The show had a lot of recapping, and basically Lydia thanking Russell for taking her off the block. Braden realized Lydia had backstabbed her. Jeff also felt this was a stab at him, since he couldn’t go on the block.
Laura and Jordan talked with Braden as to who did this. He thinks Russell has been starting rumors, then passing it on to others, aka the gossip girls in the house.
Jordan was sitting around crying, and Lydia took it as an insult. She thought they were friends, why is she crying now and not when she was nominated?
Braden found out from Russell that Lydia claimed Braden would target him/the athletes. He was fuming mad. Braden confronted her about it, and she denied it. BRaden started calling her a skank and a bitch. Kevin stepped in, and Braden said some racist slurs that were bleeped. Lydia told him to kiss her Latin ass and walked off. Kevin was furious as well. (I recapped some of this in an earlier post).
Lydia started yelling at Jordan for not talking to her yesterday when she went up and for not crying for her. Jordan said she hasn’t done anything to her. Lydia said Braden attacked her and Jeff didn’t defend her at all. Jordan said talk to Jeff, not her. Jordan wouldn’t take it and said she has talked to her everyday, she has not back stabbed her, she has done nothing to her. Lydia wouldn’t talk to her when she was yelling and couldn’t talk. Jordan said she was crying because Braden was on her team. Kevin chimed in saying he couldn’t be cool with her if she condoned Braden’s words.
Jeff showed up and got caught up in the conversation, with Lydia attacking him for not defending her when Braden called her a skank a bitch and a slut. Jeff flipped on her, saying she would have stayed over Chima, yet she sold her soul to the devil and this was her doing.
Laura and Jordan realized they had to get the Athletes out as they were running the house. Laura went to Ronnie, they told him they had to get Chima out as she’s in with the Athletes. Ronnie thought he could get Michelle in on this.
The time for the vote came. As usual Julie asked various questions. Braden made a little speech about how they’ve all had a good time this first week, yada yada. Chima stood up and said if you vote for Braden then you vote for a bigot and a misogynist, and you’d be going home next. The vote then began after their speeches as to why they should be kept.
Russel, Natalie, Kevin, Lydia and Ronnie all voted to evict Braden.
Jeff, Jordan, Laura, Michelle and Casey all voted to evict Chima.
This left it a tie, which meant Jessie was the tie breaker. He sent Braden home. Braden watched his goodbye messages. Both Lydia and Kevin were pretty harsh in their messages.
The next HOH comp began, which was one of the trivia games. It was a comp where they used polls given to America and they had to pick what the majority voted for, with the winner being able to eliminate someone.
RONNIE won HOH. Holy hell will there be some drama this coming week!
Martha Plimpton Appears On Grey’s
Posted by Dustin on 07.16.2009 at 10:03 am
Playbill is reporting (via the Hollywood Reporter) that Martha Plimpton will guest star on “Grey’s Anatomy” next season in a multiple episode arc as the mother of a young patient.
Most of us kids from the 80s probably remember Martha from movies such as “The Goonies” and “Parenthood,” the later being made into a TV show on NBC this fall.
Big Brother: POV Won and Used!
Posted by Dustin on 07.14.2009 at 9:56 pm
Big Brother picked up right after the nominations of Chima (who is a pawn, so she thinks) and Lydia. Chima soon began to fear as the pawn, she might go home. She knew she had to win the POV.
Laura meanwhile felt targeted and picked on because she was pretty and had big boobs.
The other Athletes began to realize that Jeff was hanging out with the other teams, they felt they had lost him. Russell told Jessie to use Laura, get her on their side. Russell meanwhile complained he too was an outcast.
For the POV Jessie, Chima, Lydia, Russell, Jeff and Natalie played in the competition. The POV competition dealt with trying to spell words out (letters being picked out of zit they popped on a board). The person with the longest word won. Everyone was going for giant words, and in the end Russell won it all with Shotgun.
Russell was convinced Jeff threw it and picked a fight with him to get him mad, calling him and idiot and how he can’t spell. Jeff then lashed out at Natalie, asking what he did to deserve this. She said he didn’t hang with them or talk game or anything. Natalie said he was trying to slide through without blood on his hands, and if they could have put him up then they would have.
Lydia confronted the athletes and asked why they wanted her up. Natalie said she wanted her up, she felt like she was a jerk to her. Lydia said she never bothered to talk to her. Jessie thought her actions weren’t always sincere. She apologized if she came across the way she did, but she didn’t mean to. She then told them Jeff and Braden seemed to be the smooth talkers. Jessie and Natalie got the idea to have Russell take Lydia off and put up Braden.
Russ warned Jeff and Jordan of the plan, they knew they’d be screwed if he went home. They warned Braden about the plan. Russell confronted Ronnie later on, thinking he told Braden. Ronnie lied through his teeth to Russel.
At the POV meeting, Russell used the veto on Lydia and Jessie put Braden up.

Army Wives: The Christening
Posted by Dustin on 07.13.2009 at 7:22 pm
In this episode, Terrance needed Roland’s help yet again. An Iraqi orphan girl named Haneen needed surgery on her hands immediately, otherwise she might lose them. The problem was she was rushed into the country (under somewhat illegal measures), her Visa is about to expire and she would need permission from the Army to have a doctor at the hospital donate his services.
Claudia Joy became involved, as Roland went to her about talking to Michael. Haneen also needed a sponsor/host family, which she volunteered for. Michael wasn’t too pleased, but had no say as Claudia Joy already signed them up. Haneen was caught in an explosion, her family killed, all because they were interpreters for the army. Claudia Joy felt they owed this too her. Emmalynn seemed to take to Haneen very quickly, which was an issue for Michael. He thought it might send her off into yet another one of her various moods.
Frank and Denise continued to deal with their divorce. Denise was packing to move out, finding an old necklace Frank’s mom gave to her that was a family heirloom. She decided to leave it behind. Denise was taking the job after all and leaving the state. Frank meanwhile snapped at Michael who keeps referring to Denise as “that woman.” Frank said Denise was still his wife until the courts said so.
Pam and Chase’s issues continued. He was miffed to find out Pam took the coaching job and would be taking their son to football, while he took the daughter to ballet. When he tried to make a man’s fishing trip with their son, he had to cancel as it was the same day/time as the christening. Miffed, he decided to volunteer to go to Houston and lead some training exercise. He told Pamela it was obvious he wasn’t needed around her. She yelled back at him to basically grow up and that ever since he came home all he did was criticize how she did things.
Lucky the Dog somehow was snuck back to Ft Marshall. Trevor was assigned to take him to the pound, but wanted to keep him. Roxie forbade it, knowing she’d end up taking care of the dog. Later she was giving herself a trim when Trevor showed up with the dog. Lucky jumped her and she cut way too much hair, saying now she’d have to give herself bangs . . . she hates bangs! She eventually agreed they could keep the dog. Trevor told the kids it was to be their responsibility. Later when Pam saw her hair, she said it was cute and asked who cut it? She had just been joking a dog cut her hair.
At the christening as the reverend spoke various families resolved their differences. Michael saw that Emmalynn was getting long well with Haneen. The boys told Roxy they knew the dog was their responsibility and not hers. Pam and Chase apologized, Chase said he canceled his trip. Finally Frank and Denise approached each other. He had earlier insisted she keep the broach. He told her that he did not want to lose her. She didn’t want to lose him either. The episode ended with them holding hands.
My Thoughts
Okay I’m kinda sick of Terrance. It seems like every week he has something he needs Roland to do for him. If I was Roland I’d be a bit peeved, as it seems clear Terrance asked him to join this practice so he could use him and his connections.
Micheal’s attitude towards Denise, constantly referring to her as “that woman” is also getting on my nerves. I wonder how he will handle the reconciliation? If Frank can forgive her, will he be able to?
Chase is another one who I wanted someone to tell to grow a pair this week. I loved that Pamela yelled at him that the only reason he was pissed is because she wouldn’t take orders from him. I felt he was acting like a big cry baby because he wasn’t getting what he wanted. I guess I can understand how he might feel a bit emasculated by his wife; but as he put it in his apology, she has to be mommy and daddy while he’s away (which seems to be all the time).
I think Haneen and Emmalynn are really cut together, but clearly this is going to lead to drama. Haneen is going to have to go back to Iraq, and it will probably lead to Emmalynn having a melt down and finally having to deal with her feelings over Amanda’s death.
Finally Frank and Denise’s reconciliation was sooooo good! I know they have a long way to go, but I loved it. I also really loved when Frank told off Michael. One of the few times I can remember cheering for Frank!
