Army Wives: Mending Fences

Army Wives: Mending Fences

So it’s been a few days since the show aired. I wrote an outline of what happened, hopefully I can remember all the details. First up the summary, then some thoughts.

Pam found herself a bit annoyed by the other man in her life this week, the football coach. When her son made a great play and won a game, she and him did a little dance to celebrate their victory. He scolded them in front of anyone, saying it was showing off and not good sportsmanship. Then after every game, he asked the players to “take a knee” and he thanked God for a good game. Well Pam really was having problems with all this it seemed. However by the end of the episode she basically learned a lesson, that sometimes praying is helpful and inspiring. When Chase got the call that he has to go away again, she suggested the family say a little prayer to watch over him.

Hannen and Emalynn continued to get along. Haneen moved into the Holden’s house as she waited for surgery, and she was given Amanda’s old room. Emalynn told Haneen she was sorry for what happened to her family. Haneen said she did not need to apologize, she did nothing, her own people did this to her family. Emalynn said one of her own people killed her sister, she’s still waiting for an apology.

Later Haneen admitted she didn’t want the surgery. Roland came to talk to her, he thought she was scared. Emalynn thought it was much more. Haneen had survivors guilt, why was she alive when her family was not. This sent Emalynn into tears and she ran into her room. Claudia Joy went after her and they finally talked about Amanda. Emalynn thought it should have been her that was killed, but Claudia Joy told her not to talk that way. The next day Haneen finally went for surgery.

Roxy continued to have all sorts of issues with Lucky. She was spending a small fortune on a dog she didn’t even want. The boys, not knowing better, fed him a bag of chocolate chips while trying to train him. They had to rush him to the vet and have his stomach pumped. As much as Roxy doesn’t want the dog, the dog seems to adore her the most out of everyone in the family!

Evan and Joan were assigned to lead opposing teams in the annual war games. Evan was assigned to defend a post, while Joan led the team attacking. Joan couldn’t wait to show Evan up, but he felt he would beat her easily. He made a comment, which set her off. She reminded him that she’s lead real troops in combat, he however has just pushed papers from a desk. Later though it seemed Evan took a look at Joan’s strategy for the games.

Frank and Denise decided to date again, to try and get things back on track. However Frank just wanted to pretend like the affair didn’t happen and move on. Denise didn’t think that was healthy. She felt they needed help, and Frank agreed. They went to a counselor to help them with their troubles.

My Thoughts
Oh I was so pissed at Evan for cheating! A friend suggested Joan may have set him up. I really hope so, as if Evan wins and gloats about it I’ll just have to punch him through my TV! I’m hoping he gets caught and this is the end of him, as I’m sure that’s a serious offense in the army.

Poor Lucky, all he wants to do is love Roxy, but she’s not melting. Something is going to happen though that will endear Roxy to Lucky I bet. He’ll save one of the kids somehow or maybe even Roxy.

The resolution to Emalynn’s guilt was great and touching. I just really hope this means she will stop acting like the snot she’s been this past few weeks 🙂
