Army Wives: Pam Gets A New Home

Army Wives: Pam Gets A New Home

As with “True Blood,” I’m putting a post of my thoughts out right now. I’ll come back later and try and get the show recap in there. Twas a busy day for me, full of writing, and I want to kick back and relax for a bit instead of doing more writing 🙂

My Thoughts
I’m so glad Michael is back on base, and with a promotion to boot! I have to rewatch, as it sounds like he wasn’t taking his old job back, but something one rank higher (the guy who was doing it got sent to the Pentagon or something). Evan unfortunately is still on base (couldn’t we send him away?)

Emmalynn still needs a major attitude adjustment. I’m glad Michael is back as to not let her get away with the way she acted and talked to her mom in the previous episodes. While I feel Claudia Joy is way too much of a pushover, Michael is too much of a hard-ass. They have to find some happy balance between them.

Joan turned down Michael’s offer to be his G2, as she knew she had to lead the troops in the field she trained, that was her duty. I kinda figured Joan would do that. I mean had she stayed and been a happy little family with Roland and their daughter, well were would the excitement come in for them? For me personally, they tend to be my least favorite couple on the show.

Roxie was in love with Pam’s new house, which I have to say was GIANT. Hello McMansion. This is a house on an army base? Maybe for the general! I would think there would be a lot of questions as to how Pam acquired that sucker. Anyway, Roxie was in love with it, while Trevor was upset by it. He felt like it would be a long long time before he could provide anything like that to Roxie. Roxie said she was happy with what they had, trying to ease his insecurities. For me though I was more annoyed by Trevor’s inconsistencies. Last season he spent most of the time not strung out basically explaining to Roxie why she couldn’t set up the bar and have her own business, as being in the army meant not putting down roots and moving when need be. Now he’s bummed at not being able to give Roxy fancy things like new sets of dishes and a nice house?

Denise and Claudia Joy had a great little face off. While I have been miffed at the way the girls have been treating Denise, I felt Claudia Joy rightly defended her actions and inability to comfort Denise on that night. At the same time, Claudia Joy hasn’t exactly reached out since then (claiming she and the others don’t know what to say to her).

Frank sent Denise packing after he learned the rumors of her affair were true, even though she admitted she was sorry and it was a mistake. I just don’t know how I feel about these two anymore. Right now I feel like Frank and a lot of others (Michael) are putting all the blame on Denise for the marriage going to hell, like she is the sole villain here for what she did. Sure she shouldn’t have done it. However I want Frank to realize his inability to change or grow is a big problem too. I mean he and Denise have been married for 20 years, and he expects everything to be like it was since day one of year one I feel. Denise tried to explain that last season, but he didn’t seem to want to listen.

Jeremy almost got blown to bits in this episode, saved by a dog he named Lucky. I still can’t get over the feeling something will happen to him that will bring Denise and Frank together again.

  1. Actually some base housing does look like that. My friend’s husband is an E-5 which would be 2 ranks lower then Chase and there house is almost exactly like the one on the show. (Except they have white walls lol) But again it all depends on the base we still have old housing that was built in the 40’s and 50’s they are replacing which looks like what Roxy lives in. 650 sqft being built into 1800 sqft now huge differnace!

  2. From what I’ve seen, base housing in Charleston does not look like that. I don’t know about officers/higher ups. We have an Air Force base (and a Navy training school) here though, not an Army base. Most of the show is filmed using public/civilian buildings.

  3. I think something happens to the truck the dog lucky was in, but they will think it is Jeremy, because of the tags he put on the dog.

  4. Lucky somehow turns up on the base either next week or the week after.

  5. I loved seeing CJ face off with Denise. She was right to call her out on acting like a victim. I understand she made a mistake and she is sorry but she can’t expect everyone to just be okay with it because she is sorry. I also have to question if she is only sorry because Mac dumped her – had he not, would she be so willing to have Frank forgive her?
