and it went to Kris Allen.
So was the right choice made? Honestly, I’m shocked, I thought Adam would have won. Some have already pointed out that Kris probably got a lot of help in the votes from the Gokey fans, which I guess if you think about it, is true. You either loved Adam or Danny, and most fans of one hated the other. So with Danny out, I think Kris got a big boost from his fans.
I think both will have great careers, but again . . . are we destined for yet another season when the runner up outsells the actual idol?

i HEART kris. i was a gokey fan and a kris fan and voted for each of them a couple times…but your right..i think all gokey fans voted for kris. way to go go go gokey fans!!!!!

I have been an Adam fan from the beginning. I think this will be another runner up outselling the winner. They will both have big careers, I just think Adam’s will be bigger.

I think Kris needed to win to help cause I think if Adam would have won he may of had too many restrictions and it would not be as good as it could. I think Adam will out sell Kris, but I think they BOTH (and DANNY) will do very well for themselves. GO AI, you did an amazing job creating some wonderful stars this year!

Kris need American Idol more than Adam.
Time and time again, Adam proved he can sing about anything.
Whether Adam wins or not, he will be very successful like Clay Aiken!
I’m merely stating my opinoin on SECOND place.
Out of Adam and Kris, Adam does NOT have to win tonight.
Second place will be good enough for Adam, just like Clay.

I would totally buy Kris’ album in a heartbeat, and that’s saying alot because I hardly buy any albums anymore. I definately like his voice and vibe more than Adam. Yes there are certain things that Adam is great at and I enjoy listening to, but it’s not the type of music I would relax to, ya know? And the screeching really needs to stop.

See, i was a Kris fan from the top 24 week.
Adam is an amazing singer, don’t get me wrong, his style of music just isn’t for me. I would be more inclined to go buy Kris’s album over Adam’s because Kris’s style is so much more my style. And from what i’ve heard, alot of people feel the same way. I think Adam just really really overdid it with his theatrical-ness last night.
I’m still having nightmares about his “Ring of Fire” *shudder*

See as much as I think Kris is a good singer, his music isn’t for me 🙂 I’d much rather buy Adam’s album, I think it will be more style. I love his glam rock persona and his screams remind me of Axl Rose and Sebastian Bach

I am with the people that would buy Kris’ album over Adam. I do like glam rock and all but Adam’s voice hit more of a nerve and I found myself fast forwarding through most of his performances because it was the same from week to week. Adam can sing but I still can’t see him putting a record out, I think he would be better for off/on broadway shows. Also what was up with the song for the first single? That song was HORRIBLE!!!!

I’m glad Kris won. From week 1, it was the Adam show and that got old. I liked Adam a lot, I love glam rock. But as much as Adam tried to vary his performances, they all sounded the same to me. Screechy. And I really didn’t like his SINGING voice. Add to that, I really can’t watch his mouth …. it scares me like Steven Tyler’s does. And I’ve been to a couple KISS concerts, so I love the guys, but I felt really bad for Adam having to sing with them. They just overpowered him. They HAVE to be the star of any performance. But MY GOD, Kris and Keith Urban was awesome and Adam and Kris with Queen was perfect. I could really see Adam leading Queen ….

I liked seeing all the performers that weren’t associated with Idol. I am also glad Kris won. It was a very entertaining show all around.

Really was it Adam’s fault it was the Adam show from week one? I think its sad people held it against him that he was the best singer…in a singing competition.

He wasn’t singing. He was SCREAMING. And if you really listened to his voice, it wasn’t good either. He’ll do really well on Broadway but I wouldn’t buy his CDs.

I beg to differ. If all he did was scream, he wouldn’t have made it that far 😛 Plus I thought his voice when he wasn’t screaming was very good. It’s also not easy to scream with tone and control like he did.
However those thinking he’ll just end up on Broadway, watch yourselves! You might jinx Kris. There have been far too many Idol winners who end up there. Taylor Hicks is currently here in Philly doing Greece.
The fact is, people love the winner of Idol during the competition and after, but six+ months later when they finally put out a CD a lot of people don’t care that much anymore. And that stupid “No Boundaries” song is going to hurt him if that’s his major exposure till his album. I wouldn’t have bought that drivel even if Adam had won and had to sing it.
Personally, I’ve never bought an Idol’s CD. I have downloaded Kelly Clarkson stuff from iTunes, but that is about it. Like I said though, I would by Adam’s CD, I like his rock sound as it reminds me of the hair metal I grew up on.

when did it become such a BAD thing to end up on broadway. When everyone says that Adam will end up there everyone gets all defensive. I think being on Broadway would be amazing, and Adam would be Amazing at it. He has great face expressions and really knows how to get an audience going with his eyes. I would 100% go see him on Broadway! (and i wasn’t even a big fan of his)

I don’t think it’s bad to end up on Broadway, for some people that’s where they want to be. However the way people put it makes it seem bad. “Oh he just won’t do well on radio or in albums, he should just do broadway.” Basically it’s like saying Broadway is second best.

The other thing about Broadway, those singers have to be really really strong, because they do two shows a day usually. It’s not like an album where you can get your best performance on record and you might just not sounds as good live. So again, I think it’s kinda odd for people to basically say he won’t do well with CD or radio and banish him to Broadway 🙂

I love ADAM!!! He was soooo much better than Kris all season. yes, Adam will outsell him and be even more popular. Once the Idol bubble bursts later on, we will all be asking Kris who?
