Heroes: 1961

So this week’s episode of “Heroes” was the one I was looking forward to, the back story of Angela. Sadly I felt while interesting, just a little sloooow.

Angela gathered her family and some of the other heroes (Surresh) and friends (Noah) to tell them her story. They gathered at what was basically a concentration camp for people with abilities out in the desert of Texas. She told them the story, as it seemed the past was repeating itself. Claire learned that her dad was working with Angela all along to try and thwart Nathan and The Hunter’s plan, but they had failed.

Angela and her sister Alice were sent to the camp as teens. They both had powers, Alice’s was controlling the weather. They were sent to this camp under the guise that they were going to be helped, but Angela began having dreams. She found out the truth, the government was conducting experiments on them, experiments that would kill them off one by one.

Angela made friends and warned them, saying they had to do something. The friends she met and made were the future founders of the company. Surresh’s father was a young scientist working at the camp, which set Surresh off. He felt his father was a murderer and a madman, but others told him his father probably had no idea what the government’s real agenda was.

Angela told them the story so they all understood, that they couldn’t let history repeat itself. She had believed her sister Alice had died at the camp, but she hadn’t. Alice was alive still, living at the camp, and pretty crazed. Alice was about to kill Peter at one point until Angela intervened, telling her this was her family. Alice ended up fleeing in a tornado she created, which you know means trouble in the future.

As they all pondered how to basically put their secret back in the box, on the TV came Nathan speaking to the nation. Yup, Sylar had morphed into Nathan to address the nation about the threat of the “heroes.”

I think that is in a nutshell what happened. I liked the episode, it was interesting, but I felt I wanted a bit more. Angela’s sister definitely looks to be trouble though!

  1. I think they did a good job casting the young Angela, it really looked like it could have been her 50 years earlier. I thought for a second Sylar was Claire in this episode, when she went a bit cynical about who she wanted to be. Overall this episode was good but like Dustin I think that I was expecting more.

  3. LOL that is hilarious but true!!!! I wonder if Sylar morphs into another character (ie the one getting killed off) to trick a hero into killing that person. Maybe a pick between the real and Sylar version of the person. So it could be a hero being redeemed next season after accidentally killing the non-Sylar.
