Private Practice’s Insane Finale!
Posted by Dustin on 04.30.2009 at 11:55 pm
Oh lord, I think the end to “Private Practice” was just mean mean mean! To make us wait till fall, oh no no no! I’m still digesting what happened, but “Grey’s” has a lot to live up to in its finale that’s for sure!
It was a show mixed with a some happiness and a lot of unhappiness! Violet finally decided to make a decision and chose Pete. Dell’s ex returned, strung out as we all guessed, and Dell got his daughter back.
Yeah I think that’s where the happiness kinda ended! Naomi and Dell got the practice into a pickle when two women ended up implanted with each others embryos. Dell looked like the one who made the mistake, and someone needed to “take the fall” to save the practice. In the end Naomi left, deciding to take the offer by Charlotte’s boss! He wanted Naomi to run the practice he funded, the one that Charlotte was running. He fired her, telling her basically her staff hated her and she used them like puppets, she has no heart and can’t inspire anyone around her. Dayum!
Sam tried to keep Naomi from leaving, even telling her that he still loved her. However it didn’t help, it just seemed to push Naomi further away.
Noah and Addison kept resisting each other, but decided they couldn’t any longer. They planned to tell his wife the truth, but she eventually realized it was wrong and she couldn’t break up their family. Still she fought temptation, failed, and as they were about to “do it,” well they were paged, the wife was in labor.
Violet’s patient who lost her baby but had problems accepting it returned, and well Violet knew something was wrong with her. She wanted her committed, but the others said they couldn’t do that without reason. The show ended with her showing up at Violet’s doorstep and drugging Violet! She said Violet had her baby and she was going to take it back. She laid Violet down in the living room and planned to do a C-section on her! Cooper came home and was about to go in when Charlotte called him crying that she needed him, she was fired. He stopped right at the front door and was about to leave. Violet cried out, and it seemed he heard her, but kept going (cause Charlotte busted his balls throughout the episode about always choosing Violet over her). The show ended with Violet, realizing she was going to die, telling the crazy lady how to do this right so at least her baby lived.
Man, talk about one hell of a cliffhanger! I know Cooper heard Violet cry out, I just have to believe that’s how they will resolve this, that Cooper will save Violet in the nick of time. They can’t let Violet die, they can’t!
The Dell storyline was predictable, but I’m glad Dell got his daughter back.
While it was harsh, that doctor telling Charlotte she had no heart and was fired was long overdue! The woman is just mean and nasty. Sometimes I like her, most of the time I don’t though.
Sam I felt sorry for, losing Naomi and her as part of the practice. I think they’ll eventually reconcile though.
Addison, oh brother! Given her history with Derek and Mark, well lets just say I wasn’t feeling for her at all in this episode. She needs to stop with the affairs!
ABC Finales Full Of Weddings (And Funerals?)
Posted by Dustin on 04.29.2009 at 6:36 pm
So we all know at this point about a big portion of the “Grey’s” finale, how it will involve a “surprise” wedding and possibly the death of 1 or 2 of the main characters (ie George and Izzie). However a few other ABC shows are pulling out these stories as well it seems.
Ausiello got a quote from Marc Cherry that someone would be wed in the season finale of “Housewives” and it will be a shocker. It’s being kept very secret after last years finale got spilled months in advance. Next week we know Jackson proposes to Susan, and it appears Mike may propose to Katherine.
On “Betty,” the latest releases indicate two proposals happen, but only one wedding. We can guess these are Daniel and Molly and Matt and Betty from the previews. Kristin at E! has an interview with Vanessa Williams who spills it’s Molly’s wedding to Daniel, but Molly might end up dead before the honeymoon from cancer 🙁

Desperate Housewives: I Saw You Naked
Posted by Dustin on 04.28.2009 at 8:00 pm
The most recent “Housewives” seemed to be more of a set-up for what is to come in the next few and final episodes of the season more than anything.
First up, Tom was getting more and more weirded out with Lynette’s job. She was over-worked and tired, he was over-sexed and not getting any. She showered in Carlos’ shower at work one night before coming home, which upset Tom. He didn’t want her doing that anymore. Later as Lynette was showering at home, Carlos showed up to pick her up for a meeting. She didn’t get a text that it had been moved up. He shouted this up to her, and she ended up slipping and falling in the tub, knocking herself out. Carlos rescued her, but she asked he not tell Tom about this at all.
Meanwhile Gabby was a member of some flower club, but when the old president died and a new one took over, it went from being cocktail hour and just looking at plants to having to get out and plant plants. Gabby and some of the girls planned to stage a coup and brought Tom in to tip the scales in their favor. Unfortunately being around all those ladies, one who was basically the neighborhood skank (now that Edie is dead), well that wasn’t a good mix. Gabby got upset when Tom was flirting with the neighborhood hussy Patty.
Carlos and Gabby had Tom and Lynette over for dinner, and well everything came out. The shower was first, as Carlos assumed Lynette must have told Tom when he talked about it. Tom was talking about the shower thing at work though. When Tom was upset Lynette wasn’t honest with him, Gabby exposed Tom’s flirtations to Lynette. Lynette said Tom should be on penicillin for even sitting in Patty’s car! In the end everything worked out. Tom told Lynette how he was in a funk and her ignoring him was hurting. Gabby meanwhile told Told she had been where he was and never thought she would have cheated on Carlos, and did, so she was just looking out for him.
Moving along, Orson lied to Bree about his head injury and had to be put in the hospital for observation. While there he found out the woman he robbed the night of Edie’s accident was there, having suffered a heart attack. She was telling wild stories about “Death” sneaking into her house to steal her knickknacks, how she hit him in the head and he caused Edie’s accident. Panicked, Orson told the doctor he knew the woman and clearly her dementia was getting worse. He tried to get the doctors to move her to a long-term care facility. Bree however heard the story passed on from Katherine, who the woman told. Katherine thought she was nuts, but Bree knew better. Bree went to Andrew and told him she would have to divorce Orson and would need his help.
Katherine was feeling guilty and opened up to Mike, saying when she asked him to move in it wasn’t because she was having bill troubles. She said she was scared and hoped to get him closer to her to keep him. However she didn’t like that, she wanted them to be honest. He said it was okay, and she said “I don’t want to lie to the man I’ll spend the rest of my life with.” Mike seemed to make a face upon hearing that!
Finally Susan became concerned about Dave this week, fearing he was suicidal. Susan being Susan stole his gun and all his knives, only to be pulled over by a cop for talking on her phone while driving. Of course she was arrested and taken downtown. Susan later apologized to Dave. He finally opened up, kinda, saying the night Edie stormed off they had a huge fight. Susan said it wasn’t his fault, not to let the guilt get to him. She then made a huge mistake, telling him about her biggest mistake. The night of the accident she and Mike were in . . . yup she was driving. However she had forgot her license, so Mike claimed he was driving. She said the accident and the lie eventually tore them apart. Dave thanked her for telling him, saying he did feel better now!
The episode ended with Dave telling MJ not to play out in the street, as it would just destroy his mom if anything happened to him . . . .
My Thoughts
First up, Dave is just a sick sick puppy! He better be put out of his misery soon, but something tells me the season finale is going to leave us wondering who lives and who dies, much like the original did. The sad part is, I really like the actor. It would have been great if Dave could have gotten help and been reformed, but at this point too much has been done by him.
I’m glad Bree is making plans to end things with Orson, but I don’t think it will be so easy. There have been comments from the actor that the finale could also set him up to be a major villain next season. Orson is on my last nerve at this point and I would not miss him if he were to leave the show.
Once again they are setting it up to look like Tom might cheat on Lynette. I really don’t like these stories at all! They are one of the few happy couples on the block, let’s keep it that way. Spoilers though indicate big changes down the road for Tom and his own career.
Katherine’s little admission to Mike this week about “trapping him” made me like her and them as a couple even less. Unfortunately with Jackson returning, I think we have to face that they are taking the soap route here, making us wait till probably the very last season for a Mike and Susan reunion.
Posted by Dustin on 04.28.2009 at 6:05 pm
So last night was the big season finale of “Heroes.” First up a brief recap, then my thoughts on why I think they’ve just set it up for next season to be the last season of “Heroes.”
Sorry for any grammar errors! These will be corrected when I can proof this in a bit!
Noah/HRG figured out there was a roadblock coming, so he sent all the Petrelis and Claire fleeing, giving himself up for capture. He was thrown in a cell in Building 26. Meanwhile Sylar was more than pissed with Emile/The Hunter and set him up. He shape-shifted into Emile and opened fire on some of his own men, then shifted to an agent and captured Emile, who was thrown into the same cell with Noah. Noah and Emile realized they’d have to work together to stop Sylar.
Angela had a dream that Parkman would save Nathan, so she went looking for him. Claire went looking for Nathan, who Sylar had locked in a bathroom and shifted to. He was off to meet the president to become the president. Claire insisted on tagging along, clearly knowing this wasn’t her dad.
Peter rescued Nathan, and then flew off after Sylar. Nathan had to reveal to the secret service he was one of them, showing them he could fly, and telling them the man going to meet the president right now was not him and very dangerous. Sylar had by this point taken Claire prisoner and was telling her how they would grow old together while everyone around them died. She said she would never stop trying to kill him, but he claimed in time she’d come to love him.
Nathan and Peter found and fought Sylar. Sylar escaped with Nathan, who he later killed. Slit his throat, blood ran everywhere . . . Nathan is dead! Sylar took his form and then went to meet with the president. However in another twist, the person he met with was not the president . . . it was Peter shifted into the president! Peter stole Sylar’s power to shapeshift when they fought! Peter drugged Sylar then.
Meanwhile, at Building 26, Hiro and Ando staged a plan to free everyone. However Hiro was having more and more issues with his powers. Ando told him not to use them anymore, his head could explode. He used them to freeze time one last time and free Surresh and the others. They then put all the guards in the building in the containment room and hooked them up to the knockout gas containers. Surresh looked at Hiro and told him not to use his powers again, it could kill him, his body was rejecting them it seemed. However when Emile betrayed Noah and was about to kill him from behind, Hiro froze time to save Noah from Emile. Hiro then passed out, but later we learned was still alive.
Back in some suite somewhere, everyone learned Nathan was dead. Then they had to decide what to do with Sylar. A plan was hatched. They needed Nathan as a senator to fix everything. Sylar was coming unhinged because of the shapeshifting. They had Matt use his power to convince the unconscious Sylar that Gabriel Grey was dead and he was now Nathan Petreli. Angela knew Sylar could absorb all of Nathan’s memories from him, and he could shapeshift physically into Nathan. This solved the issues, and they later burned the shapeshifters body in Building 26 that looked like Sylar. This would go to convince “Nathan” that he was Nathan and Sylar was dead. Nathan also planned to set up a new company to help maintain control and balance with Angela and Noah apparently running things.
Months Later . . .
Hiro and Ando apparently returned to Japan, and we assume Matt to Janice and his son.
Angela stopped by to see Nathan and go to lunch with him. Nathan seemed a bit off, and was fixated on a clock . . . . He said the time was always a minute off, he adjusted it, and they went to lunch.
Meanwhile a guard from Building 26 returned home to find his kitchen sink running and spilling all over the floor. From the water came Tracy! She said “You’re number 4” and attacked.
We then see someone (Matt?) reading a paper article about the fourth mysterious death by drowning!
My Thoughts
So first up, as I said before, I think they’ve set it up for the next season to be the last probably. Why? Well the ratings are still down, and NBC renewed the show but with a shorter season (18 episodes I think). Ali Larter’s (Tracy) move career has been taking off, and Zachary Quinto’s probably will in 2 weeks with the “Star Trek” movie coming out. Then there is the rumored fighting of the actors playing Claire and Peter. They were dating, broke up, and rumor has it she wanted him fired and wouldn’t appear in any scenes with him.
First up, they’ve set Tracy up as the villain for next season it would seem. There is still the other triplet Barbara to bring in and explain at some point. I could see her being brought in to face off with Tracy and leave one and one only remaining.
The other reason I see them setting it up to end has to do with the Nathan and Sylar twist. With them in the same body, I think they’ve set it up for an internal showdown. Sylar was clearly losing it at the end of this season because of all the people he had stolen from. What it seems they’ve set up is a story that only one soul/persona can inhabit a body at one time, so there will be a war between the two in order to see who survives. It’s basically the Nikki/Jessica issue all over again, which Micah warned Sylar about all ready.
Did I like the finale? Yes, but as usual I have issues. We didn’t get any resolve with a lot of the characters. Hiro’s health? Noah’s marriage? Seems like we have to wait for next season for those questions, along with where did Alice go off to?

Brothers and Sisters: Julia Moves Away
Posted by Dustin on 04.27.2009 at 12:01 pm
So rather than do “Housewives” first, I’m going with “Brothers and Sisters” because of all the comments in the shoutbox about last night’s episode. Also I felt it was far more entertaining than “Housewives” was.
First up, Julia was in financial trouble. It seems Tommy borrowed against the house mortgage for his Ojai scam, now the banks were foreclosing. Kevin did what he could to save the house, and Nora scrambled to get Julia a job as a tutor at the center so the bank would see she was employed.
In the end, Julia was offered a teaching job by a friend, but it was in Seattle! Everyone had to face Julia was leaving and taking Elizabeth too. As they said goodbye, Julia told Kevin that she would tell Elizabeth the truth about him being her father.
The show ended with Nora putting Tommy’s clothes back in his bedroom closet. Julia took them out as she couldn’t stand looking at them anymore. Nora felt he’d need them when he came home. Saul tried to convince Nora that she had to let Tommy go and accept he might not come home.
Kitty was continuing to play with fire, aka Alec the single park daddy. Sarah said she was having an emotional affair, and from someone who had been there and then been through a divorce . . . stop going to the park! Well Kitty didn’t listen. She and Alec ended up going to look at some house he wanted to buy.
Unfortunately on the way back, well Kitty was looking at Alec and not the road when BAM! They hit a car at an intersection. Nobody was badly injured, Kitty and Alec both got burns on their arms from the air bags. Kitty however lied to Robert, saying she was alone. Later when he took their son to the park so Kitty could rest, he saw Alec with the same bandages Kitty had. Alec’s son also said hello to Evan (corrected), which tipped Robert off.
Robert questioned Kitty, asking if she was in love with this guy. When Kitty couldn’t answer, Robert told her that she was the one who needed to figure out things in this marriage, not him. At the end of the show, Kitty went to see Alec . . . and they kissed!
Finally Holly was throwing a tantrum this week as during a board meeting, the board sided with Sarah on some issue over Holly. Holly felt they’d always side with Sarah. Sarah pointed out it was a family company.
Holly devised a scheme to bring Ryan into the company. Ryan had previously told Holly and Rebecca he would not go to work where William did every day. However when Holly brought up that he’d have shares, and a vote at the meeting . . . he was interested. She then suggested if the idea came from her, Sarah wouldn’t like it, they haven’t been seeing eye to eye. Ryan went to Sarah, who loved the idea, but said she’d have to smooth this over with Holly, who was having Walker-phobia lately.
Holly pretended to throw a fit, but said she would agree if Rebecca was also given a vote on the board and shares, she had earned them. Sarah agreed to that and thought Rebecca did deserve them. Ryan took the job, but would be starting at the loading docks like every other Walker had. Holly was sitting pretty, thinking she now had enough votes on her side. However Ryan opened his mouth to Rebecca, saying now that he had a vote, he couldn’t wait to stick it to Sarah in the next meeting and show those Walkers. Rebecca quickly went to Justin to tell him that he had been right about Ryan all along, she doesn’t trust him.
My Thoughts
First up, I am so sad to Julia go! I hope they find a way to bring her back, as that really stinks. Tommy has screwed up everything. When he comes home, I hope Nora slaps him again . . . hard!
Kitty aggravated me in this episode. I went from feeling annoyed with her to feeling sorry for her. I definitely think she should have listened to Sarah. She needs to quit it with dates in the park and deal with her marital problems first. However Robert, he needs to deal with his part in this as well. He acted like this was Kitty’s fault, she was the one who had to figure out what she wanted. Oh Robert, just last week you were realizing you had pushed Kitty away. Maybe you too need to think, do you want a family and marriage or to be Governor? Which is your priority!
Most of my anger was directed at Holly in this episode. This witch best go down next week in the Season Finale, and take that Twilight inspired Ryan with her! I knew she would try and use Ryan to pull a coup and upstage Sarah. Fortunately it looks like Rebecca has seen the light and won’t let that happen at all.
Speaking of Rebecca and Ryan, can we discuss this company shares crapola? Okay first, Ryan just started working at the company in the loading docks. Let’s hold off on the shares and the vote for away. Really, he gets a vote just cause he’s a Walker working there? He knows NOTHING about the company yet, and I don’t think the board would really care what he has to say at this point. Meanwhile Rebecca deserving of shares? She didn’t start at the bottom, mommy gave her a cushy job at the top. So no, she shouldn’t get shares either!
In the end, I’m hoping what Ryan finds out is that his mother’s apparent suicide had nothing to do with William and everything to do with Holly. What if she found out about Holly, or Holly called up William’s room one night and she answered. Something, anything that will help Holly go down in flames. At this point, she can take Ryan with her. I wish we could get a do-over and forget Ryan ever existed.
