Okay so last night we finally got what we’ve been waiting months for (but in all honestly we never should have had to endure), Sam remembered EVERYTHING!
First up, the evil ghost Dr. Byrd (who it took me until the end of the show to realize it was the guy who married and knocked up Jackie on Rosanne) returned. He had found a new person to torment, this was someone who was living though. It was another step-in too, just like Sam/Jim.
Melinda and Eli explained what had happened to this guy, which helped him remember everything. One guy had “died” 3 years ago in an accident and woke up in another guys body (who also had a death experience), not remembering that guy’s supposed wife, life or much of anything. Over time his memories slowly came back. He remembered another woman, he had left a wife behind, but she moved on. She wanted nothing to do with her dead ex, who had apparently cheated on her. She also wasn’t really believing all of this story anyway.
Well the Dr had taken an interest in this guy and was somewhat tormenting him. As Melinda figured out, the Dr himself wanted to become a step-in and come back to life. He was following Sam/Jim as well as this guy to figure out how to get it right. The step-in fled to the underground and Melinda ran after him, getting herself trapped in some sewers that were flooding.
Well also going on, Sam had moved out. He was still convinced Melinda had put thoughts into his head. He was checking some things out, one memory he had was of some bike shop. He was sure he was supposed to pick up an order made on a certain day, but thought it was Melinda’s doing. As it turned out Jim had ordered traveling bikes for him and Melinda, a surprise she didn’t know of! So Sam realized perhaps there was something going on here after all.
Sam and Eli went to help Melinda, who was trapped underground. Sam ended up swimming through all these tunnels, as he did he ran into troubles. Somehow this caused him to remember his life as Jim fully. When he got to Melinda, he had no clue who Sam was, he thought he was Jim.
Melinda took Jim home and had to explain what happened. He was stunned to see what he now looked like, but accepted what happened and what Melinda told him.
I am so glad we are over “Sam,” though are we? If she gets pregnant by “Sam’s” body then who knows, will they have to make his family part of the kid’s life? See this could get messy.
I thought Jim kinda took the news of what happened fairly well. He screamed, but I would have flipped out totally. That was way played down, there should have been more there.
As someone pointed out in the shoutbox, the Dr. just turned “good” way too quickly as well. At the end he just realized “Oh this is wrong, I should go into the light after all, bye bye!” Kind of rushed too.
According to The Portland Examiner, HBO is casting a major character from “The Sookie Stackhouse Novels,” which “True Blood” is based on.
HBO is casting Sophie Anne Leclerq, the Queen of Louisiana. The casting call describes her as born in France, but with no accent. She’s nearly 500 years old and rules over our all the Vampires of Louisiana. She is described as being worldly and wise, cunning and charismatic, beautiful yet ruthless.
Before I fall behind again, I thought I’d do a quick “loved” and “hated” list for “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” tonight as a quick thoughts post. I’ll flush it out later when I can sit down and have a chance to write 🙂
Grey’s Loved Little Grey and Mark! They are so cute together. It seems Meredith had no issues with their dating at all. Loved that!
Loved Baily calling Adele on The Chief. Adele rocks, she needs to be on the show much much more than Eli Stone is over. Also loved that Baily and The Chief finally made nice.
Loved that George had more than 1 minute of screen time.
Hated that George had about 3 minutes of screen time.
Oddly enough, loved Alex in this episode! He was nice to the band nerd, well the one. Loved the band nerds, as I was one.
Loved Izzy and the interns working on Patient X’s case. Loved the way she spoke to them, until the end. Hated the “no reward” speech.
Hated that nobody figured out she was Patient X! That did get them a “no reward” in my book.
LOVED that Izzy picked Christina to tell her secret too, because she was a robot. I want to see Christina actually show emotion to the news.
Hated that The Chief told Meredith about the ring. It makes the proposal a bit anti-climactic.
HATED HATED HATED the way Drunk Derek acted when Meredith came to see him at the trailer. What an ass!
Loved the way Callie blew off Arizona at the very end, but turned around and accepted her date invite 🙂
Private Practice
Loved seeing Roger back on my screen!
Hated being reminded that CBS canceled “Swingtown.”
Hated that Roger’s character ended up being the husband of Addison’s new patient. Roger is not that kind of guy!
Would LOVE to see Janet on my screen again 😛
Hate Hate HATED that the show yet again did another “dying kid” story.
Loved that we didn’t have to see the kid die though!
Loved Dell’s speech to Naomi that she needed to get out and date, not help Sam plan his dates with his girlfriend.
Hated that Sam dumped his girlfriend. I fear he’s hung up on Noami still, and she’s moved on.
Loved seeing Charlotte tells Cooper he should hate her for what she did, and him saying he’d forgiven her and he had to forgive herself for cheating.
Loved Pete telling Violet she was doing this pregnancy thing alone, and she didn’t need to be.
Sadly . . . loved Cooper talking to Violet’s baby and interacting with her much more.
Balthazar Getty, who plays troubled Tommy Walker on “Brothers and Sisters” has a new gig, although a brief one. He’ll play on an upcoming episode of “Medium” according to People Magazine. Getty will star in an episode along with Rumer Willis (Bruce and Demi’s daughter) as well as Angelica Houston, who returns as Alison’s old boss. We last saw her being carted off to jail after killing her daughter’s killer. The episode is the second one directed by star Patricia Arquette. In the episode Rumer plays the missing wife of Getty’s character, and an old friend of Houston’s character.
Getty meanwhile did return to the set of “Brothers and Sisters” this week to film the season finale of that show.
Back in January Kristin and E! reported that Ashley Jensen, who plays Christina, wanted to leave the show. Reps were quick to poo-poo the news. Now Ausiello is reporting Ashley is leaving the show. She’s joining a new ABC comedy “Accidentally on Purpose” staring Jenna Elfman.
I have to say this is a blow to Betty as I love Christina! She’s one of my fave “Mode” characters!
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Valerie Cruz will join “True Blood” in season 2 as Isabella, a Hispanic vampire. Cruz has appeared in Showtime’s “Dexter” as well as “Dresden Files” on Sci Fi.
The same report has Clifton Powell joining “Army Wives” as a psychologist helping war vets with post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Brothers and Sisters: Don’t Pass Go, Don’t Collect $200, Just Go To Jail

It’s been a few days since “Brothers and Sisters,” so this is mostly a “thoughts” post. It was a fairly slow episode anyways, at least that’s what I thought. The whole thing mostly was about Nora’s party for the kids to meet Ryan, only to find out everyone was hiding Tommy’s dilemma from her. The other main stories were Rebecca and Justin’s issues over Tommy’s issue, as well as Robert dealing with his health.
Holly, oh this woman needs to fall. She needs to fall out of a window at Ojai and splatter on the loading platform! SERIOUSLY, when is this woman going to get what’s coming to her? It seems she’s getting everything she wants for being William’s mistress. She needs to fall and soon!
I found myself strangely feeling sorry for Tommy, who I also normally can’t stand. Rebecca who I normally love? Well if I was supposed to feel sorry for her after this show, pffft! At the family dinner she felt she was being attacked, or rather her mom was by Tommy, and she was the only one defending her. As if she expected Justin to do the same? Holly has everything, which Tommy pointed out. Not only that, Rebecca has a sweet job she’s totally unqualified for . . . thanks to Holly! No Rebecca, I don’t feel sorry for you. The Walkers took you in and even kept you a part of the family after the truth came out, so why should I feel bad for your mom who is trying to take their company? Then when Rebecca dumped Justin as if it was his fault, pfft!
Then there is Ryan, who is also on the S-list right now with me. He swooped in on Rebecca even before she and Justin broke up. Not cool dude! Also I’m sorry, I don’t know what is going on with the look of the character . . . normally I never comment on character/actor’s looks unless it warrants it. What the hell is going on with Ryan? I swear he twinkles in the dark. Are they trying to make him look like the guy from “Twilight” to attract the tween girls?
Finally Tommy’s wife basically told him not to come home, he did this to himself and their family, she was furious. Nora echoed Julia’s thoughts when she slapped him hard at the dinner table. I am getting this feeling should Tommy’s trip and departure from the show become a more permanent one, well I see Kevin and Scotty moving in with Julia to help with the baby. After all he is biologically Kevin’s. I could see it even causing drama for Kevin and Scotty.
This week’s “Heroes” was good, but damn if we don’t have to wait two weeks for a new episode!
First up, the meeting between HRG and Angela that ended last week’s episode. Yeah, we still have no idea what it’s about. This week picked up right where last week left off with Matt, stuck outside the capital with a bomb strapped to him. Nathan arrived to help, Matt explained it was The Hunter’s doing not his. In the end Nathan and Matt defused the bomb, but Nathan knocked Matt out so he couldn’t use his power to escape! Matt was apparently caught.
Nathan tried to fire The Hunter, who was finally wise to Nathan, having seen a tape of Tracy screaming “You’re one of us!” He suspected Nathan had a power just as everyone in his family did. He denied it, and convinced Tracy not to tell The Hunter anything as he was her only hope in here. She didn’t rat Nathan out (though she should have!), but The Hunter was no fool. He pushed Nathan out a window, and of course Nathan flew off. The Hunter looked at HRG and wondered if he knew about this? We did not hear the answer.
Claire meanwhile was sent a guest by Rebel, Eric Doyle aka The PuppetMaster. She had to wrestle with the question “What kind of hero was she?” Would she help her enemy or let him suffer and be caught. In the end she helped him start over and get away. When she asked if he would seriously start a new life and go straight (which he claimed he would), he basically gave her a look as to say “You dumb blonde, hell no!”
Claire returned home only to get a text from “Rebel” that her free pass was up, run for it! She left her home right as agents stormed it. Nathan arrived outside her window, their story ended with Nathan floating outside holding Claire as the agents burst into her room.
Meanwhile Sylar found his father and confronted him about killing his mother, wanting answers. Sylar learned his father had the same ability as he did, taking powers. Sylar’s father basically had become just what Sylar had, hungry for powers and collecting them. However in the end, the thrill of the hunt was lost on him, and he was diagnosed with cancer. He was dying. He made a speech about evaluating his life, yada yada, how they all grew old and died in the end. However when he found out Sylar had the ability to heal, suddenly the hunt was back on! Sylar’s dad tried to kill him to take his power, but when he failed, he claimed Sylar clearly wouldn’t die so he was just borrowing it to live as well. Sylar however wanted his father dead. Though he didn’t kill him, he left him to die on his own, alone, from the cancer.
The show ended with the return of Hiro and Ando. They were sent by Rebel to protect Matt Parkman. When they showed up at the address they found a frazzled baby sitter who handed off a baby to them, saying he was Matt Parkman!
I’m not sure how I felt about this episode honestly. It was good, but oddly anti-climactic. I felt that it took The Hunter WAY too long to figure out Nathan had a power. The whole ordeal with Claire and Doyle . . . um the point? Is it to make Claire more conflicted than she already is? Where will Claire and Nathan run to? Mama Petreli’s is too easy to be caught at, and I think she’s on the run herself now. Sylar’s confrontation with the father, yeah that went where? Is he going to have another change of self because he doesn’t want to become his father, or accept he’s destined to do just that? See if Luke was in the picture it would have gone somewhere! Finally the end confused me. I thought, did I miss when Hiro got his power back and went back in time? A reader in the shoutbox suggested the baby was Matt’s with his ex-wife. See that didn’t occur to me, I thought that it was settled the baby was the cop’s she was having an affair with.
The previews for two weeks look great. Based on HRG asking Tracy who Rebel is and her look, I totally think it really is going to be Micah!
Nicollette Sheridan filmed her final scenes as Edie this week for “Desperate Housewives.” Her final episode apparently involves a lot of flashbacks of the character over the past few seasons.
Ausiello (I believe) scooped last week that after Edie’s departure, the other housewives take a road trip to tell her now teenage son Travers the news about his mom.
