With April winning HOH, she nominated Jessie and Memphis for eviction. However she and Ollie assured Jessie he was a pawn and was safe, and they hugged. April’s playing too many sides, and it is going to cost her! Soon it came time to pick the POV players. Libra, Memphis, Jessie, April, Jerry and Michelle were to play.
At a meeting in April’s HOH room with her alliance, April was worried about the POV outcome, wanting the nominations the same and Memphis gone. Libra made the comment that she was playing in the game and would do her best. She said she may not have the muscles, but she does have the brains if it’s a quiz challenge. April scoffed and rolled her eyes (or something) which set Libra off. Libra did not like that attitude, saying she was a member of this team and worked just as hard as anyone else. She stormed off, and Keesha followed her to try and cool her down. Once gone, April said something along the lines of “I hate that bitch, she always has some excuse for why she loses.”
In their room, Libra went off on April. Libra was furious, not liking being talked down to like that. She felt disrespected by April. Keesha said she understood, because she felt the same way when she was told not to talk to Steven or Memphis. Keesha said she saved her ass the week before and didn’t deserve that. She said she’d talk to whomever she wanted. Unfortunately Jessie was in the next room, heard everything, and ran to squeal to April that Libra and Keesha were going off and calling her names.
April quickly went to confront Keesha and Libra, saying she heard they said this this and this. Libra only got even more upset, saying that isn’t what she said. She told April what she did say, how she didn’t like being talked to the way she was. Keesha also said she said something, but not what April was told she said (I think Keesha lied though, she did seem to say what Jessie told April, I’m not sure).
Libra and April talked as Keesha, furious, stormed off. Renny tried to calm her down, saying it was her birthday and not to get upset. Renny made a cookie cake and wanted to get everyone in here to sing happy birthday, but Keesha was furious. She was going off, calling April a little bitch now. Michelle wanted her to calm down, saying this whole fight was over “he said, she said.” Keesha went off even more, saying she knew exactly what was said. She then stormed back into the room to yell at April some more. They wanted to know who told her all this. April finally said Jessie. Libra went off, telling April that Jessie has to go this week, and Keesha agreed.
Everyone soon gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” to Keesha, and it was the most pitiful attempt I’ve ever heard (Video Below!). Keesha just stood there with a look of “Are you f’ing kidding me?” on her face. Keesha just ended up going off on Jessie, screaming he was a bleep bleep and flipping him off. Libra told Jessie he was a goner. So it looks like Jessie’s attempt to cause problems have only dug his own grave.
The Houseguests Lame Attempt At Singing Happy Birthday To Keesha
The POV was held, and it was also a luxury comp with prizes to be won and swapped. They had to shoot hockey pucks into a goal, which was divided up into lanes. It was very skeetballish, with the goal of trying to get in the center. Memphis was the first out, and he won the power of veto. Michelle followed and won a 7 day trip to Hawaii. She could have swapped for the veto, but didn’t, as Jessie was still in the game. April went next, winning 10,000 dollars. Jessie was out next, winning a slop pass. He swapped Memphis for the veto. Then went Jerry, who won a letter from home. He swapped it with Jessie for POV, telling April he’d keep the noms if she split the money with him. Libra won, and won a red unitard. She swapped it with Michelle for her vacation. Memphis then got to use his slop pass not only to get off slop at anytime, but to put someone on slop immediately. Knowing Jerry wasn’t going to save him, he put him on slop.
Jessie, of course, had an excuse for why he didn’t win the game. It was too much like playing golf, and he doesn’t play golf, because his back is just too big or something . . . . hilarious! Michelle meanwhile was furious that she lost her vacation and went off on Libra in the diary room, saying she was the worst mother ever and she should have taken a letter from home to hear from her kids.
The POV ceremony was held and Jerry kept the nominations the same. A plan is currently in motion to get Jessie out of the house, with Renny, Libra, Keesha and Dan in an alliance with Memphis.
The problem is, April, Ollie, Jessie and Michelle apparently also think they have Dan on their side to vote to keep Jessie. Dan is the swing vote, it will all end up on him. I believe since America voted for him to get Jessie nominated, he has to vote him out . . . or forfit some money.
If Dan stays true to L/K/R/M then one of them has to win HOH next week, or they are in trouble. In my opinion, they need to split Ollie and April up at this point and get April out. Michelle has been digging her own grave as she ignores everyone in the house at this point and only talks to Jessie. Jerry is floating by kissing the butt of whoever is the current HOH.

Because I’m running late with this week’s “Army Wives” post, I’m doing it a little different. I’m blending the summary/recap and my thoughts together. It’s also a bit shorter than the norm. Everything huge basically happened at the very end of this show.
Trevor continued to strive to get better so he could return to Iraq and was popping pills like they were candy. He was temporarily assigned a job on post as Joan’s driver. He didn’t seem to appreciate the job, obviously feeling it was not glamorous, which in my opinion is going to just serve to make him work harder to get through his physical therapy. That of course means he’s going to pop even more pills.
Roxy enrolled in a class Roland was teaching to get her GED. Earlier in the episode she had made a comment to Trevor about how the kids were running her ragged and she dreams of a night at a 5 star spa. He wanted to do something nice for her, so he bought all these relaxing candles and fountains to set up a quiet room for her. He then wanted to cook dinner, but failed, as he wasn’t a cook and thought it would be as easy as following the recipe. Claudia Joy and Roland came to his rescue with food.
Unfortunately Roxy ended up going out with some girls after class, not knowing about Trevor’s surprise. When she came home, surprise, he had fallen asleep. However he wasn’t mad at her. He understood, saying she missed hanging out after school growing up, so she was making up for it now. Honestly I was shocked, I thought he’d blow a gasket over the time he wasted doing all this, which would be a sign of the pill dependency.
A reporter came to see Pam, she worked at the paper on base. She wanted to interview Pam, do a story about, well her story. Pam didn’t think she had a story to tell, but agreed. The story came out and Pam was a hit, at least with her family. Chase joked he always wanted to be married to an airbrushed cover-girl. Her daughter asked her to go to career day this year, which was usually Chase’s thing. Pam decided to take her daughter’s class to the radio station where she had them all take turns interviewing Chase about his job. It was a cute compromise so that both parents were involved.
Emmalynn met a boy in this episode, a senior who was from a high school off post. Michael and Claudia Joy needed to meet him before she could go out and see him on dates, so he came over for dinner one night. Micheal asked him what he wanted to do, and of course he didn’t know. Yes they went the predictable “I’m a musician, I want to travel around for a year before college and get life experience” route with the strict army father who obviously doesn’t want to hear those answers at all.
Later Emma saw him on base with a girl in the army, and there was a hand holding incident . . . so it appeared. Emma was upset and later confronted him about it, on advice from her mom that there could be a reasonable explanation. He said that they had been friends since 1st grade and that was it. He was only interested in her and only wanted her as his girlfriend. Frankly I didn’t buy it at all, and I’ll discuss why in a bit.
Denise and Claudia Joy had a talk, with Denise admitting to kissing Getty. Shockingly Claudia Joy seemed to be very understanding! Me thinks everyone in town knows Frank is a jerk and Denise is better off without him honestly. Denise pretended to be sick one day to avoid Getty, but he knew what she was doing. He told her he could see this was making things hard for her, so he was leaving the hospital in a week. He did say if she wanted to see him or talk about this thing, she could find him in all the usual spots.
Meanwhile Joan and that jerk whose name I never remember but is trying to take her job ended up teaming up this week to deal with a serious issue on base. It seems there was a drug operation going around and soldiers were selling drugs to kids at the base school. A bust was made and Jeremy was one of three soldiers brought in! He swore to Denise he was innocent, and she believed him. She put off telling Frank as long as she could, and when she did, he apparently didn’t believe Jeremy was innocent and he thought Denise was gullible for believing him. Typical Frank! Later Jeremy found out his mom told Frank and he made comments about how he was sure dad thought he was guilty and probably got her thinking it too.
As it turned out, Jeremy and one of the others were innocent. One of the three was guilty and cracked, saying he hid the drugs hoping he wouldn’t be caught. Joan got the guy to crack, and her partner guy sucked up saying he was learning at the foot of the master. However the operation wasn’t over, this was just a small time supplier. There were more, and they had to keep on working. This is where we return to Emmalynn’s boyfriend. I just think something is going on with him and the girl he met on base. When I first saw their interactions I didn’t think he was cheating, I thought he was scoring drugs. It looked like a hand-off was going on. Off course he doesn’t go to school on base, but that is no biggie. I think he’s a drug user.
At Lamaze class, Joan told Roland how the guy at work was kissing her butt today with his compliments. Roland thought maybe he was sincere. Joan still doesn’t trust the guy at all. Suddenly she got a cramp . . . something was wrong with the baby!
Denise headed to the hospital and got a text from Getty, who was at the diner. She texted back saying she’d come meet him, but then Frank called her. Frank felt things at home weren’t good, not between them or with Jeremy. He got leave and would be home tomorrow to straighten things out. She quickly texted Getty back saying she couldn’t come after all. Upset, Getty sped off on his bike. As Denise was leaving the hospital, an accident victim was brought in. He was in critical condition, already coded once, and they didn’t expect him to live. It was Getty!
In The Coming Weeks
Getty lives and is in the hospital all beat up. Denise is seen kissing his hand at hospital by Frank!
Pam tells her new reporter friend how lonely it gets with Chase gone. She says there are ways to satisfy things, and leans in to kiss her!
Pam tells Roxy about the kiss, who is stunned and says she can’t be serious!
Trevor digs for pills in the bedroom drawers and Roxy catches him. She wonders what he’s looking for as she holds an empty bottle.
Tidbits For The New Season Of Desperate Housewives
Posted by Dustin on 08.04.2008 at 7:50 pm
Some tidbits for the coming season of “Desperate Housewives” . . . .
Susan will be the housewife that has gone through the biggest change, and we’ll learn why she and Mike split up. It’s supposed to be tragic.
Lynette will be dealing with her two twins, who are getting into trouble with the law. Tom is going through a mid-life crisis and now drives a mustang.
Gabby has her two kids, is not the glamorous woman she once was. Carlos is still blind, has a job and is a functional member of society.
Edie returns in the fifth season premier with her new love interest (Neal McDonough) who is out for revenge. This is the new mystery of the season.
The final part of the HOH competition was shown tonight. While it’s never amusing to see someone in pain . . . there was something just a tad entertaining in seeing Jessie up there wincing and holding back the tears as he whimpered to hold on . . . especially given earlier he wouldn’t shut up about all the muscles they were using in this exercise and where they were all no doubt feeling the burn in an attempt to psych everyone out (or perhaps show off, I’m not sure). Of course when he lost, he quickly had to point out that this was a worthless and pointless competition. I think he’s sore he got beat out by girls.
In the end it came down to April and Michelle. Renny was the one who lasted third longest, beating out Memphis, Ollie and Jessie. You go! Michelle was in some pain. April told her she promised not to put her up, later even saying something along the lines of “Jessie would be safe” and her target was Memphis. Michelle dropped and April became the new HOH.
April soon got her panties in a knot when Keesha and her target Memphis started becoming friends. Keesha thought with Steven out, he could possibly be of help to her. Memphis thought his alliance was crumbling, he needed help too. Renny also warned Keesha that April had said her name in conversation as if she didn’t like her. April vented to Ollie about “that little bitch” and how “disrespectful” she was being. April said something about how she “saved her ass and this is how she pays her back.” Wow it didn’t take long for the two blonds to turn on one another!
Dan, America’s Player, was given the assignment to get Jessie nominated. He just spoke to April, throwing out the suggestion. She quickly went and told Keesha and Libra how he’d been acting lately. She wondered if he was the new AP, and Libra said she’d get to the bottom of it.
The nomination ceremony was held and April ended up nominated Memphis and . . . Jessie! She said Jessie was just a huge threat to everyone in the house, while Memphis was there because winning that car in the first luxury comp made him a target. Memphis wasn’t surprised, Jessie knows his alliance is worthless now and Michelle is just hoping April keeps her word that Jessie is the real target.
For some “After Dark” and POV spoilers about how things turn out, there is a post below. There is also one tid bit I forgot to post, so read on for that new bit of info . . .
This past week’s episode was probably the best episode yet. The episode started off with Tom and Trina having a dinner party for Brad and Sylvia. Brad had just written an article on how more couples were experimenting with open marriages. The article has been commissioned to be turned into a book. Brad was planning to go to the Palomino Club, a big sex club in town, to do research. He invited them all and also said he would like to interview them. Susan seemed game, but Bruce didn’t want to go or be interviewed.
Before bed that night, Bruce finally admitted to Susan that the night of the blackout he was with Melinda, and they kissed then and also later at the Puzzlerama party. Susan seemed miffed, but not overly angry. The next morning she told Bruce she wanted to go to that club with Sylvia and Brad, she felt they needed to go. She wanted to control the sex, not let the sex control their marriage.
Trina meanwhile tried to smooth things over with Janet, attempting to bake her some muffins. Cooking isn’t her thing, apparently Tom does most of it, as she burned the muffins and they were stuck to the pan. She and Janet had a laugh over it.
Later Janet went to return Trina’s pan, only to find her and Susan talking. It seems Susan and Bruce were going to the club and she wanted Trina and Tom to go. Janet learned about the trip and announced she wanted to go too! She felt it was something Roger was getting into, because he came to the party here the day of the blackout. She borrowed a sexy red dress from Trina, and Trina and Susan dolled her up. Susan called Bruce, who was meeting Roger to talk about possibly getting him a job at his company. She asked him to bring Roger to the club tonight.
The women all arrived at the club, where the boys already were. Janet saw this one woman coming onto Roger. The woman told Janet she was a lucky woman to be with Roger. Later Roger and Janet got a tour of the backroom at the party! They disappeared into it while Susan told Bruce she really wanted to take Brad and Sylvia home. He agreed, so Tom and Trina said they would make sure Roger and Janet got home.
Meanwhile, Laurie and her teacher Doug were now doing it like rabbits. The presidential political conventions were coming up, and Laure got the idea to watch the republican convention at her parent’s house. She said everyone would be out for the night and what better place to watch it than an actual republican home. Unfortunately what they didn’t count on was her parents coming home early and with guests! Laure and Doug hid behind a bar while they had to listen to her parents getting high on pot and then begin to . . . well . . . you know.
Trying to sneak out, Laurie and Doug got caught. Bruce was furious that Laurie was with an obviously older man, and even more upset when he found out this was her summer school teacher. Brad, Sylvia and Doug basically all ran out of the house as the fight began. Laurie called her parents out, not wanting a lecture when they were getting high and about to do who knows what with those two freaks. Bruce announced that ever since moving here this family had spiraled out of control. He was going to take back control, he didn’t know how, but he had to think on it. He then stormed off.
At Roger and Janet’s, their son Rick was having a pong party with his friends. BJ showed up with Samantha, who then whooped everyone’s butt at pong. Rick got the idea to play spin the bottle. He ended up having to spend two minutes in the closet with Sam. He asked why she came, she said BJ brought her. Rick claimed he had been friends with BJ his whole life and she was just a project for him, a hurt bird to take care of. She then called Rick out, saying it was obvious how he felt about BJ and she was not trying to take him away. Rick planted a kiss on her, and she planted her fist on his face! Samantha stormed out and BJ followed. Samantha told him that she doesn’t like going to parties, she does drink and she doesn’t play games. He said neither does he, and they kissed. Later as they headed home they caught the drama going on inside BJ’s home through the open back door the others fled out of earlier.
Over at Tom and Trina’s, the party from the club was still going on. Roger kept getting hit on by this one girl, and Janet had a talk with Tom. She thought Roger wanted this, but it was something she couldn’t do. She didn’t think any of Tom’s friends would ever want her. Tom gave her a kiss and told her she was a very beautiful woman, and “this” would only serve to bring Roger back home to her in the end. Janet went to see Roger, saying she’d be leaving and if he wanted to stay . . . As it turned out, he didn’t, he was doing this as he thought it’s what she wanted. The whole night was her idea he reminded her. They then left together.
My Thoughts
I really loved this episode. I felt for once I was engaged in every story, even the kids who I normally find boring and filler. I think it was bringing everything to a head, even with the kids, that made this episode so good. All the stories finally started intertwining.
I was actually shocked that Susan was not more angry at Bruce for the kisses, but then I started thinking . . . I think it’s clear it’s been Susan all along who has had a thing for Roger these many years. Does Roger like her? That part I’m still fuzzy on. But it’s starting to make sense, especially why she’s so gung-ho to go party with Brad and Sylvia. I think Bruce isn’t giving her what she needs. What she needs (or wants) is Roger, so maybe she’s looking for substitutes?
I love the whole thing with Tom and Trina closing their marriage because of the turn-about going on. Tom and Trina weren’t able to play, and Susan and Bruce seem to almost be taking up the reigns. Meanwhile you had the hilarity that was Roger and Janet misunderstanding what the other wanted and ending up in that backroom. Oh I really wanted to know what happened back there, if anything!
Tom planting a kiss on Janet was ironically the hottest part of the whole episode, if not the whole season. The look on her face was priceless and I think Tom actually would go there if given the chance!
I also loved Janet and Trina basically becoming closer friends. At the end when Janet saw Trina’s photographs it’s like she was really seeing Trina, commenting that she’s actually an observer of the world and people around her and that she has misjudged her. Trina said she had misjudged Janet as well. Aww, BFFs!
Laurie and her teacher were hilarious in this episode when they were stuck behind the bar listening to her parents. I don’t know how she could have held out as long as she did. I was squirming along with her thinking “Oh this is so gross she’s going to listen to her parents having an orgy! Permanent lifelong scars!”
Even BJ, Rick and Samantha entertained me in this episode, which was the most shocking part. I think it was the fact they went where I initially thought they were going at the beginning of the season . . . making Janet and Roger’s son gay and in love with his best friend. Samantha called him out on it, ironically while they were in the closet. His reaction was to just kiss her, which pretty much sealed the deal. Oh what Janet will think of this when she finds out.
