Make It Work!

Make It Work!

I had forgotten to go and update on this week’s “Project Runway” and “Shear Genius.” Oops! Of course at this point, I’m having a hard time remembering what happened.

On “Runway” the designers had to design a uniform for the US Olympic Team, with Apollo Ono as a guest judge. Kata one, and I really liked her outfit. It was smart and sleek. Joe made a nice outfit, but a little too much USA flair on it in my opinion. He was expecting to win and I think he was annoyed he didn’t. Sent home was Katherine (I think that’s her name), who made the matronly dress last week. I wasn’t sad to see her go as I thought she should have gone last week. However this week I didn’t think her dress was as bad as that guys purple cocktail dress or whatever that purple and pink Joan Collins mess the other guy made.

Over to “Shear Genius,” it was the dog challenge from last season. They had to cut the hair of a dog and it’s owner and try and give them matching cuts. Dee won her first cut ever. Not surprising, Nykesha went home this week. What was shocking was that Paolo and Charlie ended up in the bottom with her, which shocked them. I’m still waiting to see Charlie go down!

Grey’s Spoilers For Next Season

Grey’s Spoilers For Next Season

Posted by Dustin on 08.07.2008 at 10:02 pm

E Online’s Kristin has reported that when the new season starts, it looks like Meredith and Derek have their dream home! Reports are coming in that a new set, the McMansion, has been built. This would of course mean that some time has past since the end of last season.

Other spoilers indicate that Alex and Izzie will be in a full fledged romance when the show returns, or at least doing it like rabbits with one another.

Big Brother: Evicted and New HOH!

Big Brother: Evicted and New HOH!

Posted by Dustin on 08.07.2008 at 9:51 pm

As always, spoilers if your on the west coast!

I watched this late on Tivo, so this is a very quick recap. I just can’t concentrate given what happened! There is going to be one hell of a storm in the house tonight for “After Dark” that is for sure!

The eviction was held and by a vote of 4 to 3, Jessie was evicted. He was shocked, but claimed to Julie that really he wasn’t. On his way out he said to Dan “your word,” meaning that he gave his word and went back on it.

Dan actually did not vote, we as America voted and our vote was Dan’s, he didn’t get to chose to vote or not to vote actually.

This morning all the house guests were woken up by a string of wake-up calls of people yelling silly things at them. This was the basis of the HOH competition, they were asked true/false questions about it. It came down to Libra and Michelle, and Michelle won!

Immediately Michelle ran around the yard screaming, saying this was for Jessie, calling some in the house traitors, and said she loved her family.

I think for sure Michelle is going to put up Libra and Dan. Libra is a no brainer, she’ll blame him as the mastermind at getting Jessie out. Dan apparently told the others Jessie would be safe and not to worry, so she’ll nominate him for lying.

So Long Witch

So Long Witch

Posted by Dustin on 08.07.2008 at 5:10 pm

So today was the final episode of “Passions.” They waited till the very last episode to finally expose everything Gwen had done, and even arrested her to boot along with her mother. Ethan learned Little Ethan was his son, and Ethan and Theresa finally married, which closed out the show.

As cheesy as the final episode was (having Tabitha get baptized to save the town from a volcano), and as many issues I had with how they ended some things (Tabitha losing her powers and not getting them back after saving the town and the people, also the fact they left Grace dead as a doornail) I will admit I got teary-eyed over seeing the show I had followed since the beginning end. When Theresa turned to the camera after marrying Ethan and told the viewers if she had learned one thing over these 8 years, it was to always follow your “passion,” I was sniffling. The final scene showed the cast and crew celebrating as balloons dropped and we heard Josh Ryan Evans (Timmy) singing “Should Old Acquaintances Be Forgot.” More sniffles!

Alas, to make the day even more depressing . . . I finally took “Days” off my Tivo list of things to record. I figured why not make it a two for one day. I try not to turn the TV on during the day to distract me, and at night I want to wind down with my other shows or a movie. I have watched “Days” all but once or twice in two months (though I’m sure I can still turn it on and figure out just what is going on by the end of the hour). With teaching in the fall and hopefully in the spring, my schedule is about to get really busy and I know I probably won’t have time for it anymore. If and when “Days” ends though, I’ll be there to see it out too.

Olin Returns To Brothers And Sisters

Ken Olin will return to “Brothers and Sisters” this fall as David Caplan, Rebecca’s father and Holy’s former flame. He is set to appear after the 6th episode of the season.

Expect a leaner David as Olin has dropped 35 pounds since last appearing on the show.
