No More Henry For Betty?

No More Henry For Betty?

Christopher Gorham as Henry on \"Ugly Betty\"Spreading around the net is a rumor/spoiler that Henry might be out of Betty’s life! According to this week’s issue of TV Guide, Christopher Gorham, who plays Henry on “Ugly Betty,” stated that when the show moves to New York this month to begin filming the new season that he will not be going.

What what what? Does this mean Henry is out of Betty’s life? That she chose Gio? Apparently Christopher wouldn’t say what it means, or if he’ll just be on less the next season, or not at all. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out!

A side note, I tried my best to find a copy of the TV Guide in question to confirm this, but could not find it on sale in a store near me to save my life. Unfortunately the new issue will be out today in most places. If anyone has this week’s issue to check and confirm that would be great!

Will McCormack might best be known to “Dirt” fans as Leo Spiller. “Dirt” was recently cancelled by FX. He was also Jason LaSpenno on “The Sopranos.”

Eric Christian Olsen has starred in several movies, most notably as the jock in “Not Another Teen Movie” and as Lloyd in “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.”

Jamie Kennedy Joins Ghost Whisperer

Jamie Kennedy Joins Ghost Whisperer

Jamie Kennedy Jamie Kennedy will join “Ghost Whisperer” next season as Eli, a psychology graduate student at Grandview University, who makes friends with Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character Melinda Gordon.

Jamie Kennedy will take over the “friend” role that Jay Mohr has been playing as Professor Rick Payne, the anthropology professor at the school.

For those worried, HR is indicating that Mohr/Rick appears in the first few episodes and then goes on sabbatical. He will NOT be killed off, as many feared from the season finale.

From leaked character casting info on Eli, it looks like he first meets Melinda because he has a ghost. It probably isn’t a stretch to see he’ll become interested in parapsychology and fill Rick’s position as the ghost guy.

New Site Design

New Site Design

Posted by Dustin on 06.09.2008 at 5:59 pm

As most have probably noticed by now, the site has a whole new look. For a year now, actually since starting this blog, I’ve wanted to get a custom skin made. I’ve gone through many different looks from what I’ve been able to find available online for download, but I’m never fully happy with any of them no matter how awesome they are. I just wanted something unique, and I didn’t have to time to try and do one myself right now. Therefore I turned to Weblog Design Studios for the new look. Danalyn and Jonathan pulled together this for me based on what I told them I was looking for. I you have a blog and want a custom look, I highly recommend them! I used them a year or two ago for my personal blog as well.

With the new design in place I will probably finally start looking into moving my blog to a new server at some point soon. I found where I want to move it to, it’s just a matter of finding the time to port everything over (including other personal sites and blogs).

Army Wives Season 2 Premier: Oh No They Did Not!

Army Wives Season 2 Premier: Oh No They Did Not!

Posted by Dustin on 06.08.2008 at 11:31 pm

I just finished watching “Army Wives” Season 2 premier and just cannot believe it, I cannot believe it! I’m in shock! Let’s get to dishing.

First up, this isn’t exactly an episode that one can recap easily because of the nature of it. The episode takes place four days after the bombing as Pamela takes to the air to report on what is going on and what has happened over the past four days. The show flash backed a lot and jumped around a lot. From the get-go we are told someone close to Pamela is dead.

Picking up from the Season 1 finale, Marilyn’s lunatic husband entered the Hump Bar with a bomb strapped to him, but the trigger failed to detonate, giving people time to run. Betty lagged behind trying to get everyone else out, and was caught in the blast and is in critical condition, apparently in a coma. The various wives visited her throughout the episode to talk to her. She was still in a coma as the episode ended.

Roxy has become a virtual shut-in in her home out of fear, not letting her kids leave, not taking care of things. Trevor has not called as he promised he would when he arrived, and she’s desperately trying to get the army to give her news on him, but they won’t. I have to say she got on my nerves to no end in this episode. I know she’s the “new” army wife, but even she can’t be this clueless to think he just has easy access to phone to call her daily to say “I’m good, still alive!” Pamela and Denise came over to talk to her, telling her that as long as the army hadn’t come to give her news, Trevor was alive and she had to go on living. Joan eventually told her off the record that he was alive, his flight to Iraq was delayed due to mechanical issues. By the end of the show, given what else had gone on, I was really angry at Roxy to be honest!

Rolland, who was in the hospital after the blast, apologized to Joan for the affair. He had realized he had admitted it, explained it, justified it, but never apologized for it. He asked what she wanted, she wanted him. Rolland returned to their home on post to recuperate. He asked her what about the baby, she said she needed a few days to think about it. Okay I’m just going to say what I probably shouldn’t say, but I really don’t like Joan!

Now I’m not going to defend Rolland’s cheating. He cheated and he was wrong to do so, no doubt about that. But at this point, any sympathy I can have for Joan is slowly going down the drain. At the end of last season when Rolland poured his heart out to her, telling her he loved her and was tired of putting their life on hold for the army, he wanted a family with her as they talked about and planned . . . my heart went out to him. They came so close to losing each other, not only losing their marriage but literally Rolland losing his life. Now it’s like they’ve been given this miracle of a second chance. Joan admits she still wants him and for it to work, and Rolland seems to still love and want her . . . yet she still doesn’t know what to do about the pregnancy? Are you kidding me? I just feel like Rolland didn’t beat around the bush at the end of last season, he stated pretty clearly what he had wanted and because she didn’t seem to want the same thing, it was a big enough reason for them to part. I think now Joan needs to make a decision about what she wants out of her life and not string Rolland along, which is what it seems she is doing. Honestly, her hesitation makes me think she’s pretty much made up her mind as to what is the most important to her, but she knows if she says it that Rolland will walk back out the door.

Finally we come to Claudia Joy and Amanda. I’m not going to prolong this torture at all, Amanda is dead dead DEAD! The show spent most of the hour showing an injured Claudia Joy taking Amanda off to UVA after the explosion to get her ready for orientation, as if they had both survived. By the end of the episode what we learned was that this was all in Claudia Joy’s head, that she was dreaming it while unconscious in the hospital. Amanda is the sole casualty of the bombing (aside from the psycho husband who is no doubt dead too). I was just stunned by this! This was an insanely risky move by the show. It’s one of those moves that initially makes you yell “OMG why the hell am I watching this show! I’m never watching it again!” However it’s also a risky move that makes it such a good show and such good drama.

I’ll shut up now and let you all leave your thoughts.

Army Wives Marathon

Army Wives Marathon

Posted by Dustin on 06.07.2008 at 9:29 pm

Okay so while I did work today I had the “Army Wives” marathon on Lifetime. They showed ten episodes back to back from Season 1, with Season 2 premiering tomorrow night. The first two episodes of the season were not shown, and fortunately those were the two episodes I had seen last year.

LOVED IT! Actually I think it is smart that they didn’t show those first two episodes, mainly because they weren’t as good as the later ones. I know they had to start somewhere with the introductions, but they honestly didn’t pull me into the show enough to keep going with it last year. I wish I had, though honestly that season finale was killer so I’m glad I haven’t been sitting on it for a year waiting to find out what happens.

So in anticipation for the Season 2 premier tomorrow, I’ve officially added “Army Wives” to the blog. I have to say, I think Pamela is my favorite of the bunch.
