Desperate Housewives: Five Years Later
Okay so my recap/thoughts on the whole episode will be up at some point tomorrow, most likely in two parts given this was really two episodes back to back. I just wanted to get a post up about the big time-jump for people to comment on.
Five years later we find the five girls, Katherine being the fifth, playing their weekly poker game. After the game we learn what has become of them all.
Gabby, not looking like her normal made-up fancy clothed self, has two twin girls who got into all her make-up and old designer clothes. No Carlos, but we assume he’s the father.
Katherine returned home and Dylan #2, freshly back from Paris, called to say Bradley asked her to marry him under the Eiffel Tower. There was no sign or mention of Adam. The actor currently has a new show next season, so who knows what they will do there.
Bree returned home as Orson had a bubble bath ready for her. We didn’t see him, but heard him. Bree, hair in a bun and in fancy clothes, was met by Andrew, who in a suit. He had some publisher on the phone about her cookbook, which was about to go to press. Bree said they’d have to wait, she needed to take a bath with her hubby. It looks like Andrew is her assistant or press agent.
Lynette returned home to find a cop talking to Tom. One of the kids stole a car to go joyriding, again. She though it was Porter, who had already been in juvie once. This time it was Preston!
Finally the shock was when Susan returned home and kissed her husband . . . who wasn’t Mike! It was Gale Harold as Susan’s new hubby. No word or sight of Maynard or Julie.
Also absent was a return of Edie, but she is supposed to be back next season for several episodes.
Sooooooo, it seems Lynette has a few hellions on her hands, including their oldest goodie goodie kid? Wow didn’t see that one coming! There is no mention of the devil child Kayla either, which you know can’t be good! She’ll be back for sure I’m sure. The ironic part would be if she turned out good while Lynette’s other kids are demons!
The big mystery of course is where is Mike? The rumors made him out to be dead, but we don’t know that for sure. It seems some of the leaked finale spoilers were correct, some not. All we know is Susan has this new guy!
My guess is we are going to have a very “Lost” like season next season as we jump from present to past as certain things are filled in.
Your thoughts?
Dustin, if you are correct and Susan’s new man is Gale Harold, you just made my day. I LOVED him as Brian in Queer as Folk….I can’t wait

It’s Gale 🙂 He’s even in the credits.

I admit the five year jump is interesting, but I am not ready to see Susan w/ a new husband. There better be some good backstory told to explain that! Does anyone know which of the cast will be returning in the fall?

I found it funny they were all unkept/frumpy looking and that Gabby’s kids were a tad chunky (got their father’s build)

I’m not too happy about Mike not being there..I hope there is a good explanation. I was really starting to like Mike and Susan. I hope Carlos is still around too! It’s going to be a long summer of waiting to find out the answers!

Ok I was hoping this ending would not stay for next season, like a preview ahead but not going to stay that way. Also if it’s only 5 years why are Gabby’s kids so old unless she adopted, and why are all kids on shows lately sooooooooo ugly, first the baby from one tree hill now those two I mean with her genes supposedly in there come on.
As for Mike I hope that this is some undercover pretend thing she must do to protect Mike or something, because that poor guy has had it rough give him some happiness for a change!

All in all I liked the jump. It definitely gives us all something to think about over the summer.

While I really enjoyed this episode, I really hope “just wondering’s” senerio, or something similar of Mike and Susan is correct. I would hate to see James Denton off the show. He is a good actor and “easy on the eyes” also!

I will say that Tom finally redeemed himself when he was talking to the guys about the ice sculpture not being important.

I do have to give kudos to Tom and the therapist for having the idea to record the Devil Child confessing to lying and then using her manipulation on Tom when she didn’t get her way…..I feel bad for Tom sending her off, but he should give Lynette a break….she’s had to prove her innocence to HIM, her husband, he should have seen what the Devil Child was doing.

EGAD…I posted the same thing about the “Lost” trend at another website!
Yeah–they’ll probably bring Kayla back as a teenager or adult. She can do so much more damage that way!

So don’t want to even think about that child, but at this rate she’ll probably kill off the grandparents and be back as quite the teen psycho!

They will never find as scarry of a teen actress as they had in that little girl though lol.

PS I have notes on everything that happened last night on DH, I just haven’t pulled them all together. I’ll probably not have them done till tomorrow at some point.

i kinda like the five years jump.
Bree is really turning into Martha Stewart.
she have a book.
i am not surprise that she have a martha type show.
i could see her going to the martha’s path – PRISON!
